While MIUI 12 brings many new features to explore, one of the most important updates comes in the form of the new camera app. The features available will be dependant on the Xiamoi phone that you have. So if you don't see a feature that we listed below, it might just be that your particular phone doesn't support that function. I am running MIUI 12 on my Xiaomi Mi 9T and I'll be going over everything new that you can expect to find in the MIUI 12 camera app.
App info:
App name: Camera
Version: 4.0
APK name: com.android.camera
What's new?
Customizable interface
The new customizable interface gives you more control over the layout of your camera app. When you open the app, you'll find quick shortcuts running along the bottom of your screen. These will give you instant access to things like video, portrait mode, pro mode etc. When you scroll all the way to the right, you'll find the more option. This will bring you to a list of all of the features in your camera app.

}
With the next MIUI 12 update, you'll find an edit button in the more section. When you select this option, you'll be able to drag features around and place your favorite ones on the app start screen. This makes it much easier to have quick access to the most used features on your camera. The feature I use the most on my Xiaomi 9T is the 48MP shot. Now I can go grab that feature and put it as the first option in my camera app. This makes it much faster to select that option quickly.
Pro Mode Settings
Pro mode is done in a very interesting way that makes things a little easier in MIUI 12. On most phones, you'll find the full list of pro features right on the bottom of the viewfinder. In MIUI 12, only the essential and most commonly used settings will be shown on the bottom. Additional settings are in a menu in the top right. Once this menu is expanded, you'll have access to the full array of settings on one screen.
This new layout is very effective at making pro mode simpler to use. Previously, it could be difficult to navigate pro mode with so many different settings in one spot. I've found myself using pro mode much more often than I normally would, thanks to the new layout.
Magic Clone
Of course, there are some really fun new features as well. Magic clone is a very nifty mode that lets you clone yourself in a photo. This option can be found in the more section of the camera app. In this mode, you can duplicate yourself in a photo or video. This trick is actually pretty effective at what it does. While I doubt I'll ever actually find myself using this for anything, it's kind of fun to mess around with for a while.
Subtitles
A feature that I was not expecting to find, is the fantastic new subtitle system. While filming a video, you'll be able to put subtitles on that video in real-time. Your camera app will be able to transcribe your speech and create a complete subtitle track. This makes it very easy to quickly make a video that can be viewed with no volume. There are many times where a friend sends me a video, and my environment might be too noisy for me to hear it properly. This solves that issue in a very effective way.
It also comes into play for social media sites like Facebook, which automatically start playing a video with no audio. Now your video can start playing with subtitles, and the viewer doesn't need to turn on the sound if they're in a public spot. If you've ever spent time adding subtitles to a video, you know how much of a time-consuming process this can be. It's great to see this simple solution that can save so much time.
I would like to show you this feature in action, but it doesn't seem to be available on my Mi 9T yet. I will update this thread if I ever get that feature. If anyone else has this feature working, please leave a comment with some screenshots.
Shoot in Fullscreen Mode
Your new camera app will have a new update called fullscreen mode. This mode lets you extend your preview display to the corners of your screen. Normally, your preview window will be a smaller screen in the middle of your phone, leaving room for your controls and settings at the top and bottom. Now you can extend this window to the entire display of your phone. Settings will overlay the preview window and still function as normal.
This is a good way of enlarging your preview and making things a little easier to see.
Go read about the global rollout of MIUI 12 here.
I am wondering when Xiaomi will add the voice control to their Camera app.

PrecieUX: Opulence is a one-click-applicable home screen decoration pack for BuzzLauncher users. Even if you have never used BuzzLauncher before, you can easily apply this beautiful home screen on your own device (whichever phone it may be) with a few clicks. If you do find it appealing, how-to-apply procedures are prepared for you at the bottom of this post.
Before moving on, please watch the teaser video I've prepared for you. I took time and care producing this video, so please watch in HD!
As the video read, certain privileges are available to only a number of special people. . . people like you. Opulence will bring the luxurious life-style that you deserve to your phone.
Ground up photoshopped matching pixel-to-pixel accuracy, tile-icons boast elegant details in even the phones with the highest resolution available in market today: Full HD (1920 x 1080). Designed and developed using Samsung's flagship Galaxy S4, Opulence is compatible with devices with other resolutions such as but not limited to HD (1280 x 720) or WVGA (800 x 480). Do not worry whether Opulence is going to look the same on your phone, because BuzzLauncher will automatically adjust layout and size of icons for your phone, whichever screen-size or resolution it may have.
Opulence is composed of 3 tabs: Main, Media and RSS. When you're in each of the three tabs, bottom of the tab you're in will glow to indicate the tab you're in. To switch to a certain tab, simply touch the tab you wish to switch to. Switching tab-to-tab is simply gorgeous: it feels like turning on a light-bulb by pressing on it.
The first tab of Opulence is "Main". Graceful widgets intuitively deliver to you information regarding date, time, your schedule, location and the weather. It has never been easier to see the important information so conveniently and so tastefully. Bottom third of the screen has short-cuts to the most necessary functions of your smartphone: downloading new applications, contacting your friends through social network services (folder containing short-cuts to different apps) and using your telephony services. The bottom dock is constant in all 3 tabs. Left tells you the percentage of battery you have left, and right tells you the time. Pressing the "Apps" icon will summon your phone's app-drawer that has all of your applications.
The second tab is your playground. It is worth a lot to live up to tight schedules, but sometimes you should enjoy good music or watch sensational movies. A big album-art of the album you're listening to decorates your second tab, so this tab will be automatically personalised to you individually according to the music you prefer. Without having to leave your home-screen, you can control your music player using the stylish control-icons already prepared for you. The Internet icon connects you to Google Chrome (but the short-cut can be directed to another application if you prefer another browser), and the Multimedia icon is a folder that contains apps most frequently used when listening to music or viewing your pictures and videos.
The third tab, as its name implies, has a gigantic RSS reader widget. Just pull out your phone from your pocket and unlock; the information you want to read will be updated and ready for you. (Press the bottom right corner of the RSS widget to add/remove RSS feeds). If the website you like does not support RSS, you can also choose to make bookmarks to your favorite websites and store them in the Bookmarks folder on the same screen.

Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app

okay, fine~ we will consider your suggestion, dear.
We will update more functions in the second stage.
Welcome to give us feedback any time
Only getting 2.1mp images from my Nexus 5 running 5.1 and there's no option to change it to 8mp
Also the video is 720p only and video quality is very bad.
Ui is perfect, bet the viewfinder is rather slow, and focus as well.
Add some more options to the gallery, like showing all picture folders.
Improve these things and i have a new daily driver!
I love the design however it looks too identical to the one on iOS, try making the design your own? Something unique but good looking.
You should add exposure functions and other camera functions. If that happens I will definitely ditch Google Camera for this.
Looks good so far. Is there an option for HDR?
Need a panorama mode and a settings section otherwise great app
Getting "Fail to connect the camera. Please turn off the flash or reboot your phone and try again." Tried rebooting and it stay this way. Google camera works fine. I'm using Samsung Captivate i897 running OMNIrom 5.0.2 Lollipop
i tried it on my nexus 5 , the video quality is very low and there is no option for change it !!
thank you for this application
OK, I tried this out a bit earlier and I'm digging the filters.. My only question is whether or not a soft back button can be implemented? It would make switching from the camera to another app a lot easier, instead of having to click on the gallery/last picture I snapped to get that functionality..
Only black in preview screen.. but capture is ok..

Implement Camera2 into this and it will be fantastic.
powerful?
Picture size is 1280x720 normal
switched to square and it's 2322x2322
switched back to normal and it's 4128x2322
Video is 1280x720
The only available setting is Flash. And it doesn't work.
Is that really worth mentioning at http://www.xda-developers.com/new-app-spotlight-geak-camera/ ?
Galaxy S4 TW 5.0.1
this is great, i would like to see an ability of saving the image in the sd card instead of internal memory. Please add the features from AOSP camera. like manual exposure and changing the image size and others. thanks and keep the good work up
just add small setting menu
and hdr
and i will move to these app
oh, and i like your compass and calculator apps
Hey, Welcome to the thread which contains some apps rha have material design.
First i want say that this thread doesn't contain any Google Apps(Gapps).
So Lets go
1.Action Launcher 3 Here
Sure, there’s the Google Now Launcher if you want the Googliest home screen possible, but Action Launcher gives your phone or tablet a Nexus-style look with more customization. There are plenty of icon pack choices and the QuickPage, which is a custom home screen you can get by swiping in from the right edge.

}
2.Cabinet Beta Here
It’s had a long go in beta, but Cabinet is a pretty stable and desirable file manager with a slick, material design look. It uses the floating button well, letting you create a new remote connection, folder, or file.
3.Swift keyboard Here
SwiftKey has gone all-in on with themes, with choices ranging from the minimalist to the ridiculous (Frozen, anyone?). On the material design, front, however, there are two excellent keyboard choices that match the new design of Google’s keyboard but add in more functionality. They’re $0.99 each, but well worth it.
4.Field Trip Here
Field Trip is a clever app for when you’re traveling or just out and about and want to discover more about what’s around you. It will ping you with details about restaurants, sites of historical snippets, or other places that you wouldn’t normally pick up through just a Google search or perusal of Yelp.
5.WEATHER TIMELINE Here
It’s too rare to find a great “Android only” app that shows off the best of the platform. Weather Timeline has done this with its weather application. It also has excellent Android Wear implementation, pushing out weather alerts and putting the forecast on your watch. It’s only $0.99, so grab it and support great development efforts like this.
6.NUMIX CALCULATOR Here
The stock Android calculator does the job, and it too has a new material theme if you’re running Lollipop. But if you want something that looks great and has a few more features then go with Numix Calculator Pro. It saves your calculation’s history and swings in with additional capabilities when you swipe through the keyboard.
[/SIZE]
7.Source News Reader Here
Feedly is still undergoing a material redesign, so while you’re waiting, or if you just want to explore another alternative, check out Source News Reader.
8.LUMIFIC-Pic Gallery Here
Lumific is a beautiful photo gallery application for anyone that isn’t happy with the stock photo gallery app that comes preinstalled on their device. While there are many great features within Lumific, one notable feature is the ability to order photo prints from Lumific through Snapfish by HP. Now you can have any photo taken with your camera printed out to keep and to share. Lumific also takes similar photos and recreates them into GIF images automatically, and it now integrates with Dropbox to sync photos for backup.
9.PLAYER FM PODCAST Here
Podcasts are a great way to consume the content you love if you don’t have the ability to read it, and Player FM Podcast adds in loads of useful features for anyone looking to start listening to podcasts. To start, it’s cloud-based, which means you can listen to it across devices. It’s also equipped for offline playback so you can still listen to stuff even without a data connection. You’ll also never have to worry about not being able to listen to an entire podcast all the way through, since play history will let you resume from where you left off.
10.NOVA LAUNCGER BETA Here
Nova Launcher Betas include new features and fixes before they are released to all users. However they also are not as well tested and may not be as reliable. Betas are best for people who don't mind when things temporarily break a little bit.
11.WHATSAPP (MD)(OFFICIAL)(BETA) Here
If you've been waiting for that special day when messaging app WhatsApp could be updated with the Material Design of Android 5.0, the good news is that day is here. You won't find this update in the Google Play Store yet, no matter how hard you try.
great! thanks

MIUI 12 brings a new look and feel to Xiaomi phones. With each new update, we get new and exciting animations and UI updates that make your phone better and more fun to use. I am running MIUI 12 on my Xiaomi Mi 9T and have been looking through some of the new improvements that you can expect once the official update begins to roll out. In this thread, I'm going to go over some of the new UI changes that I've found, and show you some animated gifs of everything in action.
Navigation gestures
MIUI 12 has brought full-screen navigation gestures to this newest update. If you've ever used an iOS device or other newer Android phones, you'll probably be familiar with the new navigation option.
To enable full-screen gestures, go to settings > Display > Full screen display. In this menu, you'll be able to switch between traditional button navigation or full-screen gestures.
Screenshots:
Once this feature is activated, you'll have a new way of switching between apps. This gif shows what it looks like when going through your apps, and the animations that make everything look nice.
After using this feature for a few days, I got used to it very quickly. Many users will be perfectly happy with traditional button navigation, so it's nice that it's still included. I would recommend giving full-screen gestures a shot and see what you think after a few days of use.
New icons, fonts, and animations
When you first start using MIUI 12, one of the things you're going to notice is that there are some new animated icons. These icons are part of the pre-installed “Classic” and “Limitless” themes that you'll find on your Xiaomi phone.
Screenshots:
MIUI 12 continues to improve on old designs with a new system typeface. This new typeface is more modern and matches the new UI and overall look of MIUI 12. In the screenshots below you'll be able to compare the MIUI 11 typeface with the new look from MIUI 12 .
This gif shows off the new animations that you'll find in some of the system icons. This gif specifically shows the animation on the gallery and weather app icons. You'll notice that once the app closes and you're back on the homepage, the animation is triggered.
Here are two more examples that include the settings and camera app.
These new animated icons make your system feel more alive. It adds an element of UI design that makes using your phone more visually appealing.
You'll find new animations across the system with graphics like battery indicators, charging data, and more. And my personal favorite animation is still here from MIUI 11, which is the popup selfie camera glow.
MIUI 12 brings a more organized and beautiful layout for all data visualizations. Screens that display battery consumption, storage capacity, app usage, or other forms of data, use animations to give you a better understanding of what you're looking at.
When I select my storage settings, an animated graphic shows a color-coded meter displaying my usage. When I select different colors, you can see how the new UI makes it easier to see and understand the data at a glance.
This results in less time spent looking at usage data, and an easier way to keep track of this data.
Live wallpapers
New options for live wallpapers are included in MIUI 12, with themes of space, landscape, and aerial shots. How to find these new live wallpapers isn't immediately apparent, so I'll walk you through the navigation.
Go to settings > Wallpaper > My page (bottom right) > Wallpapers
“Super Wallpapers” are options that include backgrounds at four levels of zoom, from the always-on-display to the homescreen background. Depending on whether you choose the Earth or Mars live wallpaper as the background, you can see the planet from a far off distance on the always-on-display to a close-up on the homescreen.
While these are just a few of the UI changes in MIUI 12, they are my favorite so far. What new changes have you spotted? Post screenshots in the comments below.
I wonder why is this and AD.. but tha "Super Wallpaper" looks slick
This is what the material design guideline from Google is about ... IMHO they just did their job properly (not like most of OEM app/system like Samsung or else  )
See https://material.io/design/motion/understanding-motion.html#principles
Lite Mode is a new feature that is included with the MIUI 12 update. This mode is designed to bring you larger text, less visual clutter, and bigger icons. Overall, it's a way to offer an easier UI to those who prefer these different settings. Lite mode will only be available on compatible Xiaomi devices. So even if you have the MIUI 12 update, you might not be able to use lite mode.
How to Enable Lite Mode
To enable lite mode on your Xiaomi phone, you must first make sure that you are running MIUI 12. To update your phone to the latest software version, go to:
Settings > About Phone > MIUI Version > Download Update
Once your phone is running MIUI 12, you will be ready to enable lite mode.
{

}
Lite mode can be found in your settings menu. Go to:
Settings > Special Features > Lite mode
Once you find the lite mode settings menu, you'll be shown the menu from the photo below. Select "Turn on Lite mode". Your phone may freeze for 1 or two seconds as it relaunches your home screen. Now you should notice the larger icon and text. This means you have enabled lite mode successfully.
Larger Icons
Lite mode enables large icons to be displayed on your home screen. The larger icons are easier to see and are displayed in a 3x4 grid layout. Here is a side-by-side comparison showing the different icon sizes.
Note: Once you're in lite mode, your home screen options are no longer available in the settings. This means you cannot use the app drawer feature. Instead, all of your apps will be shown on the home screen.
The larger icons can be very helpful to people with vision problems. Sometimes it can be difficult to see the icons or read their titles in standard mode. By switching to lite mode, you still maintain most of the functionality of your home screen, while making your icons bigger and easier to select.
Larger Text
Larger text will be enabled throughout the MIUI system when you activate lite mode. These screenshots compare the text size in the settings menu.
It's important to be able to easily read any text on your phone, at a glance. If there's even a slight struggle to see your information, using your phone becomes very frustrating. Lite mode helps make this easier for anyone who struggles to see smaller text on your Xiaomi phone display.
Less Clutter
More advanced features are removed throughout the system, when you are using lite mode. The goal of this is to simplify your experience on your Xiaomi phone. You'll notice menus for home screen and other settings have been removed, to make a more clutter-free UI. Since MIUI 12 is such a feature-rich system, the idea of lite mode is to remove some of the features that you're less-likely to use. Any of these missing features can be brought back, by switching off lite mode.
Tap to Dial
Since lite mode is about creating a more simple experience, some features are enabled that help you use your phone for basic calling. This feature is called "Tap to Dial". You can access the instant dial page by swiping left from your home screen. You will see a large "add" button that will let you put your selected contacts directly on this screen. At this point, when you tap your contact, it will dial them.
This is a great feature for anyone who struggles to use more advanced features on their phone. Consider this for your grandparents, parents, or maybe someone who is differently-abled.
When you want to remove a contact from the tap to dial page, just press and hold on their icon and drag it to the top of your screen.
Does anyone know if Redmi Note 9T global has 'Lite Mode'?
