I have seen this question before, the answer could be a number of things...
Try a different USB port, perhaps the one you are using is dodgy? or perhaps USB drivers need (re)installing?
Blow any dust particles from the micro USB port on your phone
Try a different USB cable, sometimes they become damaged and the data transfer cables no longer function
Check USB connection settings on your device - Ensure its set to MASS STORAGE
I hope that these suggestions help, if not then i'm unsure as to the best plan of action!
Hello XDA!
I need to record a 9 Hour 1080p Timelapse with my XPERIA T. Now, storage problem. My XPERIA T has a SD limitation of 32GB.
Connecting a 80GB IDE hard drive via a IDE to USB convertor, and then connect that USB to my phone, via a USB OTG cable that supports charging the phone, and then record that movie directly to the HDD. Sounds crazy, doesnt it? But is is possible?

Is there any way to enable usb mass storage on S5?
Ditto.
I'll be so bummed if this phone doesn't support it. There would be ZERO use for USB 3.0 if it doesn't have it.
I was about to buy a USB drive to use with my Moto G.
Just wanna know what is maximum storage capacity supported by USB OTG.
32GB or 64GB?
Sent from my XT1032 using XDA Free mobile app
USB OTG just makes a device's USB port act like both a host and a client/gadget/whatever, so a USB flashdisk connected through USB OTG will act just like on a computer - as a mass storage device. This means there is no limit to the USB device's maximum storage on the phone's side.
Hi,
Does anyone know of a way to enable usb mass storage device mode on the S8+. I want to connect it to my car via usb but it doesn't let me. I have read that I need to connect it as a mass storage device however all the apps that say they can do this say that they can't find my 'lun' file. I can connect it via aux but then I can't control the music with the pause buttons etc. Bluetooth isn't an option as my car doesn't have it.
up for this
MTP all the way
Maybe the issue is not with your S8, but with your car's USB. Try both these steps to isolate the issue:
1. Connect your S8 to a laptop to check if you can enable mass storage.
2. Connect another phone to your car's USB to see if it allows and recognized the mass storage setting.
3. Try to connect your S8 to another car and see if the mass storage can be used.

That is not a issue with the car USB... That kind of radio only support universal mass storage devices, the old andorid devices, android 5 and below, could be mounted as a UMS device, so the radio would be able to play it's audio files. Now android devices can only be mounted as MTP, so it doesnt works. One thing that you can do is root your phone and use some UMS enabler app.
Guys, can I access my storage from recovery mode?
I cant unlock my phone and need to get data from storage.
Is there a mass storage option, like old times?
Thx
