First, check your system settings to see if it still shows your IMEI number, if it is gone or is all 0's, you will need to restore your EFS partition or restore your IMEI number.
If you still see your IMEI number, you might need to find a firmware that has a modem.img that works in your region/country, then extract the modem.img from that firmware and flash it on your device.

Thank you for reply.. My IMEI still shown however my signal service still zero eventhough I put different sim card or try to turn on radio its still not change. Do you know where can I find that type of firmware that have modem.img because i dont think Xperifirm have it.

It might not be a modem.img, it might be a modem.bin or some other type of file extension, the point is, you need a radio/modem file that is compatible with your region/carrier network.
You will have to search for all of the available firmware versions for your specific model number from all of the different regions/countries/carriers, then find out which of them use the same kind of network/radio bands that your region/carrier uses. When you find a firmware that uses the same network/radio bands that your carrier uses, download that firmware then extract the radio/modem file from that firmware then flash that radio/modem file on your device.
If you bought the device used, you might be having this issue because the device's IMEI was blacklisted before you purchased the device. If this is the case, you won't be able to fix the issue until you contact the original service provider to see why it was blacklisted and what they require in order to remove it from blacklist.

Galaxy S4 i9500 Origin

In July I went to New York and bought an Galaxy S4 i9500 and messing around with the device I corrupt the EFS folder losing my IMEI.
Since it wasn't bought on my country (Brazil) I don't have any support nor warranty so I send it to a friend who owns a service box ( octopus probably) and flashing the ROM he asked me what is the country of origin of my device, since I bought in the US and this model in particular isn't supposed to be selled there I don't know wich country it came from and can't fix my device. The back label says it was made in china but i guess every other phone in the world was made there too .
(I bought it from the Samsung stand in the 5th ave Best Buy so it is original)
No problem
In phone setting option there is baseband version and build number from there you can find out where the device is from originally manufactured.
But now I think you have flashed other firmware and that original information is gone.Corruption of efs folder can be from many ways either flashing roms or wiping full internal memory by not following appropriate methods corectly.
You could have make efs backup in first place before experimenting with the phone.
But now you can try the following methods.
Try to flash latest modem to see if it help through odin.
One other method is that you can find your country of origin by your imei no which is on the box. Just call or email Samsung customer service in your country, I did in my case and they can tell you from the imei number the country of origin.

Ok Try to flash stock firmware and see if it helps and do tell me if you succeed.
You should be able to flash a stock firmware through ODIN and have the phone working again.
Then as mentioned above, before doing any work on the phone you should do a EFS backup, nandroid backup.
I remember with my previous phone (Galaxy Infuse) i was learning also how to root, tweak, modify the android and also "killed it". I was able to resurrect (in a manner of speak) the phone by loading the stock firmware the phone had when i first got it.
Good luck!
My friend said he repaired the device through the octopuss box and are sending me back. He couldnt upgrade to 4.3 because he didnt know the country of origin (like I said before). I call samsung to ask if they could say to me but here in Brazil the only company that really helps trough phone is Blizzard so I ended where I started. I found a website that using your serial number or IMEI can say where your device are from and I for my surprise it is indeed a chinese Galaxy S4. In Sammobile I found the CHN firmware that matched the time of fabrication (July) and probably its the stock firmware that I was looking for and one of the ones that I didnt tried to flash at the time.
The thing is now I'm too scared to try flashing this one to my mobile and ending ruining the device again and once more being forced to use my old ****ty iPhone. Any sugestions for me guys? (The device didnt arrive yet... i knew the serial and IMEI 'cause i noted down)
You don't have to flash firmware for country of origin. I'm in New Zealand and flash firmware from all over the world, the latest was UK firmware, with a modem extracted from Austrian firmware.
Just go to sammobile and make sure it's for i9500 and you'll be fine mate

What is the serial number of your phone? You can find it by beneath the battery or in settings, about device, status.

It's below the battery, next to the IMEI. It is a combination of letters and numbers and looks like this "S/N: XXXXXXXXXXX" (X= Letter/number)

Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930F - No Network (SIM - CARD)

Hello Guys, this forum is my last hope. I have a problem with my S7 (DBT Germany), I think after flashing an older stock rom and going back to newest, something happened that my phone doesn't detect any sim cards anymore. If I type *#06# , it only shows the SN Number, no IMEI. WIFI still works without problem, but I can not use my sim card anymore, so it's pretty useless now :crying:
The sim card works on another devices, so it's for sure a problem with my s7, I might have messed up something. What do you think is here the problem and how can I solve it? Any help is much appreciated, I really hope to fix this because my phone is only 2 weeks old.
I currently have the latest Firmware for DBT from updato, (December 14, 2017 for Android 7.0)
IMEI = unknown
SIM Card status: Not avaliable
Have you tried a stock ROM from sammobile.com? Updato and sammobile.com should have the same ROM but maybe there is a difference between the 2?
Did you confirm that the phone is running the latest modem?

I did not try sammobile because updato and sammobile were the same firmware. Sammobile does have a newer firmware from 28/01 but it says I need to join in order to download.
Is there a way I can fix a damaged/corrupted EFS ? My phone is pretty useless now without sim card detection
Sorry, I know of no way to fix imei issue if a combination of Odin and a stock ROM does not work. You may have to take it to a cell repair shop that can force flash the ROM and EFS using hardware like an octopus box: https://octopusbox.com/eng/features/models

Hey, flashing a Stock Rom with Odin + Root works for me with no problem, how can I flash my EFS? I do know my S/N and IMEI number..
Do you have an EFS backup? If yes, this may help: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72355071&postcount=3

You would need a way to recreate the contents of the folder. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to create the contents.
Maybe this will help: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/guide-how-to-fix-check-drk-imei-issues-t3379516

Hey, I have finally found the solution and my sim card is working again :victory:
It really was just that the firmware was 1 version older.. I downloaded the latest DBT Firmware from samsung-updates (Build Date: 15/01/2018)
Put Bootloader to BL , AP to AP , CP to CP , CSC (not Home_CSC!) to CSC , flashed it and finally my IMEI etc. is back.
Thank you for taking your time trying to help me
Congratulations on your success

I am in need of some help. I have a galaxy s7 that the efs files have been deleted, therefore, it wont connect to any network as well as unknown base band. when i type in *#06# mt imei number is null (all zeros). I have tried flashing stock firmware onto the device but that doesnt help. I dont know which combination binary software to install because i dont know the correct pda for the device. i am looking for any help to fix this problem.
note: i have another s7 with all the files i think i need, is there anyway to swap the files into the toher device and have it generate its original imei number ?

You need a backup of the efs folder of that device. If you never did one using a custom recovery like TWRP you are doomed. I believe that there are boxes like the Octopus one that, if you know the imei of the device they can flash that partition/folder and assign the device its imei once again. I don't know if the official service will be willing or able to fix the imei issue, I would suggest reaching out to them and ask.

OS for SM J327P

I accidentally wiped the OS of my Samsung Gallaxy J3 Emerge (Boost Mobile). It happened while at TWRP recovery. The phone was bought online from USA. I had rooted the phone and had TWRP recovery. Now every time I start, it shows TWRP recovery but no OS available.
I had tried to install two firmware via twrp but failed. Did I use the wrong firmware or the problem is something else?
Please help and advise me on the possible solution and if so the right firmware for this device. Thank you.

You can't flash the firmware via TWRP.
This is the reason why we always make a big deal out of creating a nandroid backup of your stock operating system in TWRP BEFORE making any kind of modifications to the device. If you had created a nandroid backup, you could restore that backup to fix your device.
Since you didn't create a backup, you'll have to flash the stock firmware for your specific model number via Odin to get the stock system working again then start over with installing TWRP and root again.

Thank you sir for your reply.
I thought I created a nandroid backup (but still looking for it), so if you could provide important instructions how to restore that backup in case I finally find it? Yes I installed those two firmware (mentioned above) via TWRP and also via ODIN but failed.
I had problems in figuring out the right firmware for this particular device and also where to get it from, so if you can help me with this I will be very thankful and grateful.
Thank you again.

It isn't complicated, go to Sammobile .com or samsung-updates .com and enter your specific device model number in their search feature. That should give you a list of all available firmware for your model number, then you just choose the newest version that has the correct 3 letter code for your region, country or carrier.
If you don't know the correct 3 letter code for your region/carrier, try doing a Google search for:
"Region code for (enter your country and your mobile carrier)"
That should show you the 3 letter code that you need, then look on the list of firmware for your device and choose the newest version that has the correct 3 letter code for your region/carrier.

Thank you for your reply and time, I really appreciated it.
I had tried what you said, and here's the results:-
1. Sammobile.com has no search result for Galaxy J3 Emerge or SM-J327P.
2. Samsung-updates.com has 14 firmware available for my device i.e Galaxy J3 Emerge (please see screenshot I attached).
I was confused and couldn't find the 3 letter code for my region, country (i.e Kiribati) and carrier (i.e ATHKL) when I googled it. I suppose the 3 letter code you mean are something like SPR, BST, VMU, etc.
May be I can try the ones (firmware) with BST USA since my phone was purchased online from USA. The phone was also unlocked and always booted up with Boost Mobile Logo even though I had been using the sim from ATHKL - the network carrier in Kiribati. That was the information of my phone before the problem.
I always appreciate your help, advice and recommendations. Thank you.

Flashing the Boost firmware should work, after flashing the firmware, if the radio(modem) isn't working or allowing cellular or mobile data connection, you might need to flash a different modem that has been extracted from another firmware for your model number to make the device compatible with the networks where you live. If it needs a different modem, you'll have to do some research to see which modems for your model number are compatible with your network.

No, SPR stands for Sprint, BST stands for Boost, VMU stands for Virgin Mobile, these 3 letter codes are not the region codes I was talking about. These are 3 of the major US carriers. The 3 letter region codes I meant are listed in this link below. Kiribati is not listed, your country is probably considered to be in the Indonesia or Malaysia region or some other south Asia region.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/samsung-android-csc-phone-tablet-t2949229
Here is a firmware that should work for you, it is a generic firmware for USA devices designed to work on all USA networks. I'm giving you the generic firmware because flashing a firmware for a specific carrier may brick your device if that specific firmware is not compatible, such as flashing a SPR firmware(CDMA network) when the device was meant for BST or VMU(GSM network).

This firmware "should" work with any network.

Need help flashing rom on my Samsung device.

Hi everyone,
I bought a phone from a friend, turned out the phone was a Russian version but the was thing is that, it doesn't connect to my local network, sim works fine but whenever I try making a call, it says "not registered on network ". I Googled this issue and finally found a way which I hope will work. And that's flashing it with firmware made specifically for my region, but the model number differs. The phone model number is SM-A750FN while the firmware I found online for my country is SM-A750F. Can I flash it without facing any problem? Or if you any better way to solve the network issue I'd be glad to know.
Thanks in advance.

You don't necessarily need to flash the whole firmware, you could probably just extract the modem.img from the A750F firmware and then convert the modem.img to an Odin flashable .tar file and then flash the file using Odin. All you should need to change is the software that controls your radio.

Yes, IMEI changing will definitely cause an issue, the network will not recognize your device if the IMEI is different than the one that should be there. There is more than one tool or method to fix your IMEI issue, I'm not familiar with those tools or how to use them as I've never had a need to use them.
Try doing a Google search for:
"How to repair IMEI on (your specific model number)".
Thanks
