Hi , how are you?? I hope you are doing well.
Well I have this device , I found it cheap and ordered a new one sealed , I know this device is like 3 years old right now. Also I was seeing that most of you manage to get like 6-7 hours of SOT and almost a day and still having some juice left.
My question is , do you manage this times in Android 8 or with Android 9 , you still have the same performance???
I had an Xperia X , and the battery lasted from 100 to 1 one day and 4 hours , and SOT almost 7 hours, I will attach some images.
First thing I did when it arrived is to flash a generic firmware to update it to Android 9 . And I'm just having like 3-4 hours with SOT and it just last from 100 to 20 in 6 hours.
Does this is an issue in Android 9 or does my device came faulty???
Anyone??? Do I need to wipe everything with a factory reset or using flashtool?? Or maybe flashing an Oreo firmware???

Hi thanks for the reply, are you on Android 9 , if so , do you recommend me to do a factory reset or a full wipe using flashtool?? Or maybe putting a different firmware from another country????

So, basically, i need to reflash it again, and in wipe settings tick all the checkboxes???
do you recommend me a firmware to flash???
currently I'm using Customized DE 47.2.A.10.107 (Germany one) ,because its the less bloated. But if you suggest another please tell me which one, and thanks for helping me out :good:
Also, is it normal that the phone runs in 4k all the time ??? I just took a screenshot of the Aida 64 app and , for my understanding, you need to run some adb commands in order to have 4k all the time . In the video I saw , the guy's phone showed his display in 1080p .

Hello Everyone,
I'm pretty much old to android phones flashing and all but this S6 is real pain in ass now lol ! It's Sm-G920i model and It's on 6.0.1. It works for few minutes and then freeze or restart. Whenever I try to flash with 5.1.1 it gives error while flashing Sboot.img in Odin or whatever it is. I have tried with few different 6.0.1 stock rom's and they all work and give freeze thing. I tried to downgrade modem and phone with old modem but again it gives error. When i flash with 5.1.1 it gives something like binary 3 device 2 not sure about exact numbers ! Suggestions welcomed ! I do have z3x box for samsung as well.
This happened to me as well.. my phone freezes 10 seconds after restarting. I tried every possible way and every time i got the same result.. Now what i did to fix it is that i flashed the 4 files flash (factory flash) 2 times.. the first flash will pass and then from recovery: full wipe: data & cache.. and then re-flash the 4 files rom a second time.. now my mobile is working fine.. by the way my model is sm-g920f..

Guys, i have a problem like that.
My G920I, stucks after start the android. Now, it doesnt start, stuck on installing update programs. I have wiped, formated, tried to flash a custom ROM, via TWRP, but that stuck at 10% of installing. I Really dont know what to do anymore... Somebody have a suggestion to fix it?
@uruchimaru, I did not understand what you did to fix your S6. Which 4 files? Im doing your way right now, but with just 1 file, the stock rom for my country. Can you explain a little bit more?
Thanks guys
@bd30 i tried flashing the roms from sammobile (the 1 file rom) many times but it didn't work for me.. some times odin gives me "fail" sometimes it gives me pass but at the first boot my mobile stucks.. i made a big research and found the 4 files rom and flashed it.. it passed but after 5 minutes my mobile freezes again.. i made a full wipe and re-flashed the 4 files rom and my problem was solved..
Here is an arabic site with 4 files roms for samsung.. just search your model using (CTRL+F) and type 920i and you'll finde yours..i hope this will work for you. the link: www-ce4arab-com/vb7/showthread.php?t=541024 ( change the two dashes into dots hhhhhh)

Anyway, i will try this rom, and update via OTA. If i have no luck, will search for another.
Thanks dude. i hope this work
Hey guys! So I buyed the Honor 8 2 days ago and it never goes to sleep.
Android OS is the highest culprit.
Anyway to fix this?
My phone has no Root it is completly stock.
I also had a similar experience with the phone, Android OS was making it run hot
If i were you i would probably force-upgrade to another version using the dload method....you never know what can go wrong with the preinstalled rom....or you can check if you can upgrade to a newer version

Hi! I have updated the phone via OTA. And it says there are no new updates.
How can I force upgrade it? I'm new to the Honor Line.

Before going there....try a few things: set power plan to smart, descease the resolution, click the gear icon and the select for wifi and data to stay off when you screen is off, have 0 protected apps , also open the device management to see what else you need to adjust like screen brightness, auto-rotate etc

@Christopher876 suggested to me an app called ForceDoze which i think it helps even further. If you still have issues you can try this method to upgrade to Nougat (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69885525&postcount=11) then downgrade to the marshmallow firmare you want....Unfortunately i don't know if you can skip to upgrading to Nougat first but if you don't mind the trouble. Here is what i did: (thanks to @Sheldd for so kindly explaining to me in pm)
Code:
Hello, so look, first, i have Honor 8 FRD-L09 (European model with 32gb) and to downgrade from Beta Nougat B320 to Marshmallow B131 i've done this: *ALL OF YOUR DATA WILL BE LOST
1-Download this: (download the one suitable for your model)
2-Download this: (same as number 1)
3-Format your SD CARD.
4-Unzip the "dload" folder from the first zip you downloaded (ROLLBACK PACKAGE) and copy on the SD CARD. *THE SD CARD NEED TO BE EMPY,ONLY THE DLOAD FOLDER NEED TO BE THERE
5-Turn off your phone.
6-Press and hold Volume UP+Volume DOWN+Power button. Now he will downgrade to B300
7-Unzipe the "dload" folder from the second zip (ANDROID B131) and copy on the SD CARD.
8-Press and hold Volume UP+Volume DOWN+Power button. Now he will downgrade to B131 and will reset your phone
Thats all, anyway, if you want to be sure everything is fine you can do a factory reset
*Note you have to download the correct files for your model whether FRD-L09, L04 etc..., your data will be lost when downgrading, you have to wipe your SD card (it is a must to created the folder in the SD card)
If anyone else has a better way please share it
Use app called greenify
Update to the latest OTA, and factory reset

Thanks, the problem persists even after the factory reset.
I wanted to follow the instructions given to me to upgrade to nougat then downgrade but dont understand.
I have the US variant.
I had a similar experience over the past couple of days in nougat 320 (it was fine before), I googled a bit and found that Google backup may be the culprit. I turned it off and then back on again later, and so far for the past 20 mins my battery is still at 100%.
Battery life is quite subjective. If you use your device all the time to check social media, play games, and consume media. Then you aren't gonna get a whole day's worth of battery from it.

The problem isn't the time I use it.
The problem is a stanby battery drain by the AndroidOS, my device isn't entering Deep Sleep and is always active, making stanby-time decrease.

Maybe if you attach some files similar to the ones I'm attaching, we can actually see something. Otherwise, Android System and Kernel are always (almost always) the two highest listed by CPU, which means almost nothing because every app that does anything at all has to use the API which uses Android System, .. and kernel.
Here are my attachments where Android System & Kernel are highest and yet in 16 hours, they've used < 20 minutes of time. Cpu deep sleep is at 80+ % averaged over the 16 hours. By the way, I'm on Nougat, but it was actually a bit better as shipped with Marshmallow.

Do you have any social media apps running in the background? As those often drain the battery as they are always connected to their company's respective servers.
Hi all!
Since the last weeks I have been watching strange battery results, some days I make good hours of screen and some other I can't get even to four hours.
I would like to do a clean install of the last firmware, which for me is it the PHE with the june patch. (I installed via OTA few days ago). What I would like to know is if I need to take special care with the PIN method, because now I have that option enabled. Should I deactivated it before doing the flash? Should I go without any problem of PIN being activated? Any concern about Samsung Account or cloud backup?
I have another small question. It is any difference between Odin and factory reset? My phone came with 6.0 when I bought it.
Thank you all!

Hi mate
With batteries is tricky , most of the time the issue comes from settings or apps , best thing to find out is to use an app like BBS to find out let it run for a few hours and check the logs to see what is going on
your question about flashing:
PIN , is recommended to disable it ....if not you will be ask for it after flashing, you should know it , so no big deal
Factory reset = delete the DATA/partition ( user data and apps)
Odin flashing case 1 using home_csc file= flash ALL partition firmware fresh install BUT do not delete DATA/partition
Odin flashing case 2 using CSC file= Format all partition ( Data / partition included)+ firmware fresh install

Hello MAX 404, thank you for your response.
I'm using GSam Battery Monitor with ADB permission (my phone is not rooted) to try to find out what's happening. But I will try BBS these days. What kind of data should I check after installing and running BBS?
Also, there's no more doubt about Odin, I think that a complete fresh install will be the best option.
Thank you!

Hi mate
You should look for apps or services with long time on without justification once you identify them , you can try to re install them , re set them or just uninstall them
HI
New to the forum - all help/ideas appreciated.
I've been having a problem for a few weeks that the battery shows 100% all the time. Obviously that's great in theory except when it then suddenly shuts down at the end of the day without warning! So I need to fix this so I can return to using/charging my phone as normal. I'm on a Moto G 3rd Gen phone, using android 5.1.1. I've tried using external battery monitoring apps - all show 100%. I've tried clearing the Cache Partition, doing a battery calibration (using an app). I'm reluctant to do a full factory reset (unless that's the overwhelming advice) due to the admin of backing up music, photos, videos etc.
Last thing to point out is my phone keeps asking me to upgrade to Marshmallow, which I've resisted so far given I love my phone and how well it works (or did until now). Don't know if that's relevant or not.
Any help/ideas/more info needed please let me know.
Thanks all

Not a single idea? Nothing at all? Hard to believe I'm the only one ever to have experienced this.

Let's try this. Download stock marshmallow ROM and flash it through fastboot ( clean flash )
Read all steps carefully before flashing
You will loose all your data, take backup before doing that.
Or try different custom ROM

Why are you so convinced the problem is the ROM? I'm no expert but it seems unlikely given it worked great for 18 months and the battery problem didn't coincide with any upgrade/update.

Seems like your best bet is googling. This forum post about oneplus 3 with a similar issue. Luckily it does not seem like a battery issue. People had luck with wiping user data and reflashing the last stock rom.

Uuuh, I do not know unfortunately. I have heard that retaining root/twrp might be a problem when upgrading OOS. I might want to look around, maybe this is a good place to start.
Alternatively, you can start fresh, use msmtool or fastboot flashable roms and then install twrp/root again.
