My oneplus 6 is on 10.3.0. Everytime I begin to charge my phone, it freezes after a minute then soft resets to the OnePlus logo before going to my lock screen. I've already tried wiping cache. Please help!

Seems like your best bet is googling. This forum post about oneplus 3 with a similar issue. Luckily it does not seem like a battery issue. People had luck with wiping user data and reflashing the last stock rom.

Thanks for the reply. My phone is rooted right now if that makes any difference. Do you think I would be fine doing a factory reset and updating to latest oxygen OS?

Uuuh, I do not know unfortunately. I have heard that retaining root/twrp might be a problem when upgrading OOS. I might want to look around, maybe this is a good place to start.
Alternatively, you can start fresh, use msmtool or fastboot flashable roms and then install twrp/root again.

Hi everyone,
I recently started to experience a problem with CM 10 on my Xperia miro. I am using the unofficial builds provided by the FreeXperiaTeam. During random times, when the phone is locked, it stops responding. I am not able to unlock the phone nor see anything on the screen. The buttons on the device also show no response. I am able to turn it back on only after I remove the battery, and put it back in. This issue occurs at least once everyday.
I would really appreciate it if somebody could provide me with a solution for this problem. I would prefer to not factory reset my device.
Thank you very much!

Anytime your running into issues like this on any Custom ROM the best practice is to start over, don't be lazy to save Data ..and Don't do a Factory Reset on a Custom ROM it never fairs well. You can as mentioned wipe dalvik and cache then fix permissions but if your still having issues the get away from that build or redownload it and do a full wipe and fresh install you will save yourself time and headaches. Things go wrong from time to time just start over and do a clean install

Plus, be choosy about what rom you are flashing. Better stay with official/stable releases if you want to avoid problems, and never do a dirty flash. It's better to be careful than lazy.
Thank you all for the help! I don't know how, but the problem has stopped. Sorry about the late reply.
I've tried to encrypt the OnePlus on several attempts. With battery fully charged and in the charger, I've left it "encrypting" overnight only to find it has not encrypted. It boots without asking for the pin prompt.
Anyone else having any luck encrypting the phone? I'm running the latest 4.4.4
Are running CM11S 30O? I used to run the previous version of CM11s, and I had the same problem you described. I switched to CM11 M9, and encryption works great. CM11 M9 is also very stable.
i detailed how i got it working here:

Okay here's the deal, in setup the phone wont activate, when I set it up with wifi basically nothing works and is generally glitchy. Ex: if the screen suspends the phone will shortly turn off, apps freeze randomly I could be on an app for 15 minutes and it doesnt freeze other times I will be on it for 10 seconds and it will freeze.
I have used odin many times to try and fix this, I tried oc3 and oe2. I even tried to use flashfire to wipe and install but to no avail it simply just restarts when I try to flash. If anyone has any fixes or just a general idea with whats going on I can fix it be specfic as possible I've worked with android devices for many years.
Sidenote: this happened when I soft bricked my phone and then flashed the stock rom

Have tried starting over by flashing a full wipe tar file? Not the ones that have "home" in the name.

Not at the moment. You sure would think a full wipe tar would solve something like this.
So your problem is not just wifi? Apps and phone glitchy on data too.

Thank you for the help, I think for some odd reason it's because the verizon servers are having issues so without activation my phone is hating it.
If you've used odin and flashed an oridinal rom and still have all these issues maybe your phone is defective. I would flash original via Odin and return. The problems your experiencing are way out of line with a clean Odin Flash. Its not Verizon as many, including mine have none of the problems you mentioned.

My SM-N915FY reboots appx. 10 times per day. It's a stock phone, no root so no custom roms or mods. I had this phone since 5.1.1 and the phone is now at 6.0.1 patch level 1 from June 1, 2016. All upgrades have been done automatically OTA by either Samsung or my provider. It's been rebooting ever since i have it.
Questions:
- Anybody else having this problem?
- Is there a way to find out what i causing the reboots?
- If i root my phone, would i be able to troubleshoot this better?
- In case i root my device, is there a list of Samsung bloatware that is know to be safe to remove? My aim is to remove everything that might cause these reboots.
Thanks,
Ton.

Hi...
Have you tried factory resetting the phone from recovery. This solves a host of problems usually accompanied with OTA updates...Ensure you make a back up of your data...before doing this.
Cheers

Well, not good. I am now stuck at the Samsung activation screen. I enter my (correct) details and i get a "Processing Failed". I guess i am now down to rooting and install a custom ROM that doesn't have this crappy Samsung stuff.

Yeah, i just had to remember my Samsung account. Now i am back in business. My phone is like new. New as in using battery like h*ll. Thinking about flashing a ROM that increases my battery life. Any suggestions?

Flashing a Custom ROM is easy. The tricky part is rooting and installing custom recovery. Since you are already on the latest Android version, you can disable any app that is causing battery drain..after rooting. Here is a useful guide...

Yeah, i tried to do that, but i keep having issues with a PIT file i apparently don't need. I am using Jodin (Mac here) and Jodin is asking me for a PIT file. I have a thread about that here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...-915f-fy-g-t3398339/post67596487#post67596487

BTW, after the factory reset the phone keeps rebooting itself.... Problem still exists.
Reboots
Well I am in the same boat with my edge. I am currently using it as a remote! I have booted into safe mode...nothing. Wiped the cache and hard reset it twice. I have never rooted a phone but it seems like that will be my only option. It doesn't seem that easy to do. How do you find the roms that work with your phone?

You can find ROMs in the Galaxy Note Edge section of this forum. I changed my Note Edge for a Galaxy J7 and it's faster, more modern and has a battery life 10 times longer than my Note Edge. Ah, and no reboots.
No more Note Edge for me.
The phone freezes and flickers
Reboots automatically at intervals for no reason at all

Uhum very weird try the easy first, factory reset and wipe cache,if din't work you can try flash another stock firmware via odin.

I already tried factory reset for like two times. Didn't help. Lemme try to flash another firmware and see if it resolves. Thanks
I also have the reboot issue. I don't have any other issues. My phone has the official firmware, I didn't flash any custom rom.
The problem first showed up for me a few days after the November firmware update.

For me now all problems have subsided. I haven't encountered any problems since last week. I didn't even update. The problem just vanished. Thank goodness. Btw, keep an eye out for One UI 4 Android 12 update. It's fix most of the problems. And might bring new problems too lmao
Oh amazing!! I'm happy for you! I most certainly will, I'm looking forward to the update. The weirdness is that it only happens very occasionally! Like, in total I've encountered it less than 10 times I guess. It happened three days ago and again today (while I certainly use my phone a few hours a day).

Let's hope your phone also would get better soon. It's not like a software problem or anything. I don't know what kind of sorcery this is. Samsung must have put a spell on these phones
Haha thank you! I still hope that it's a random and weird software issue, so that it can be solved in the next update lol.
