I bought a used Pixel 1 (non-Verizon). I have OEM unlocked it, and restarted into bootloader through adb. At that point, my MacBook can't recognize the device any more. It's not there when I use "system_profiler SPUSBDataType" and fastboot doesn't see any devices. I've tried new cables (I bought a belkin one), and I tried connecting to a Raspberry Pi (I don't have any PCs). I have the same issue no matter what. I've been trying random advice for the last week, but no luck. Can someone please help?

I have a SCH-I915 (Verizon) which is not recognized by any machine that it gets plugged into. There's no unknown device, no beep of a usb connection, it does beep like a charger has been connected (and gets the red x on the battery icon, indicating the amperage is insufficient), but the PC doesn't recognize there's an interactive device on the other end. I have spent 3 days combing the forums. I can assure everyone, it is NOT a driver issue. For one thing, the same laptop that flashed the wrong firmware and unlocked the bootloader is among those who can't see it. It also isn't visible to the best buy samsung rep or he'd have flashed it for me. I've also used anycut to manually select mass storage or samsung kies. Neither work. After reading many, many MANY posts on devices not being recognized, it seemed to me the ultimate fix for most of the people with these symptoms was a new cable. I just bought a cable and it's the same. The original does me no good, neither does the new one (which is an insignia from best buy). The maddening thng is, it was working FINE (apart from being unusable...but it was able to be connected to any way you like) just a few days ago. It was the factory reset from within the 4.1.2 OS that seems to have changed something. My idea (which may be entirely off base, since I don't actually know the USB protocols is, the tablet gets plugged in and either is supposed to say "I'm here" or the PC asks "who are you?" After that would be steps on establishing what device it is, etc... I think this initial handshake is what's broken. The PC thinks it's got a usb fan or whatever, the tablet thinks it's connected to a crappy charger.
So I've got a couple questions
1) Do they make charging cables which are distinct from the data transfer cables?
2) Has anyone used one of these insignia cables? Was it fine for you?
3) Is there any other nuclear option I can deploy myself? I don't have much faith in those best buy guys. (On a side note, I was allowed to use the guy's laptop to try and get it to work and if I had had a thumb drive, I'd have all the cool imaging software they have...but it was not to be.)
Does it shows up when connected in recovery or download mode?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium HD app
No it doesn't
No matter the computer I'm attaching to, nor whether it's in download, recovery, or fully up, the connection appears to only be seen by one side.
I can't seem to connect to my phone to pc via usb. Pc doesn't recognize the phone at all but when I have the phone off and then connect the phone to pc the phone boots back up. So it seems that the phone recognizes the pc. I've tried different ports, cables. I am able to with my other phones. I do have MDM installed. I bought this phone used so don't know if it every worked before. I believe the phone has at least another month of manufacturers warranty on it. The phone was assembled on 2/22/14. I'm wondering if VZW would help me out with this even if I wasn't the original purchaser? I'm currently on their prepaid plan.
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated! TIA

while not as practical as plugging in through USB, you can try something like AirDroid and access your phone storage through wifi as an FTP site.

Has anyone dealt with Moto with warranty issue's? I justed added my phone onto Moto and my phone is covered until June.
They have a option called "Secured advance exchange".
They will put a $200 hold on my CC then send me out a phone. Then I send them back my old phone.
Has anyone dealt with their warranty exchange before???
I have some what the same issue.
PC recognize my phone as unknown device with USB\VID_0000&PID_0000, which is bull****. When I use the exact same cable and port with my spouse's mini it works just fine.
You can check how your PC recognize the device with USBDeview.
So I came to the conclusion that my mini-USB port is just burned down. I have no another explanation. I've tried another computers and various cables, it all the same. That is disappointing, because I have unlocked bootloader and wanted to use my MAXX for a while, but I'll have to switch after the contract expiration date.

I found out my phone still has warranty so Moto sending another phone. Don't know what phone they're going to send me though. I doubt they still have any Ultra's left. Maybe upgrade to a Maxx.
Hi all,
I'm having an issue with my moto g xt1032. I wanted to unlock the bootloader to root my phone, but it's refusing to see computers as USB devices. What I mean is that my phone recognizes that it's plugged in, since it charges fine, but I don't see the phone on the computer. I do not get a popup, It doesn't appear in Devices and Printers or in Device manager (win 10 x64). I've tried on windows 10, windows 7, ubuntu 15.04 and antergos (arch linux) on both 64 bit and 32 bit machines. Also adb doesn't detect the phone although debugging is enabled (no notification on the phone though...) and when in the bootloader fastboot doesn't find it either.
I recently sent my phone back to Amazon for another problem (phone rebooting when plugged in and randomly refusing to charge), but when they said they were going to charge me to reflash the stock ROM I asked them to send it back without doing anything. I think they did it anyway since after receiving it the problem had stopped.
Now it's refusing to connect to my PCs so I think maybe it's a hardware issue? I don't want to send it back to Amazon again since the customer service was less than pleasant to deal with.
Does anyone know what I can do?
D Robins
EDIT: Forgot to say, I've tried multiple cables and this did work before with the same pc with the same cable.
Have you tried different usb cables?
yes, I've tried 3 different cables, including an Amazon basics one. It's definitely a data transfer cable. I forgot to mention in my post that this used to work until I sent my phone back to amazon.
What Bootloader version is stated on the Fastboot screen?
I think it's v41.18
When trying Fastboot in Ubuntu - use the command: sudo fastboot devices
when using sudo fastboot devices i get the response:
Code:
$ sudo fastboot devices
???????????? fastboot
is that normal for this phone?

That can occur. Ignore it and try the command: fastboot getvar all
Edit: I have encountered this many times, usually disconnecting / reconnecting phone resolves it.
Hi! I had this problem a few weeks ago with an XT1032. The phone was charging fine but PC did'nt recognize it. After trying 5 USB cables I took it to service and the problem was a broken USB port. At the beggining the PC said something like "USB Device not recognized" and disconnected it inmediately, after some days the computer stopped detecting the phone at all.
I suggest you taking it to service. In other brands like Samsung this happens a lot a comes along with slow charging speed even with 1A or 2A chargers (happened to my sister's S3)
Hope this helps you, regards.
My one X will not connect to my pc, AT ALL. Fastboot or adb. Sometimes it shows up as "Port check failed" or something along those lines. Most of the time, however, it will begin charging but not connect at all.
Note that i am running the latest version of windows 10 at the time of this post and have a thinkpad T410. I am not using the HTC charging cable because i bought this phone used off ebay and it did not come with one. Please help.
*UPDATE*
I 'Tried' fixing it. The computer will NEVER notice it, ever. restart, nothing. It detects my Nextbit Robin fine, my HTC Vivid, and my LG V410 perfectly fine. Just not the One X. Something to do with not having the factory cable?
So, my phone won't quick charge, nor will it connect to pc. Keep getting the divice not recognized and has malfunctioned. Stock everything, cause I can't unlock the bootloader to flash it. 7.0 android. Things I've tried, brand new cables, the charging block is the one that came with the phone. 3 different pcs, windows 7 to 10. USB Debugging, the secret enter code in dialer to the menu to enable hisense or whatever USB setting, enabling it USB to hisense in advanced (its not hisense its something, can't remember its the oem exe) various drivers and Android drivers.. I've tried it all almost. It's not beyond me to take the phone down and replace the port but I'd rather not if it's a common correctable issue. I reset this phone twice to see if a reset would fix it.. Nothing. Anyone else with the issue or something like it? Just wanna root this thing.. This is a "new to me" phone so probably why they sold it if it's the actual port jacked up, it's not a big big deal as my g3 was overheating and dying and I got this for $80.. Figure I came out on top cause the USB c boards are cheap enough. But I hate the glued together stuff cause you never get it exact when throwing it together or at least I don't. Big hands. So... Here is to hoping it's software. Phone works 100% other than that I like it.
Yeah, I know this. Quick charge won't work on the block. I'm not concerned with quick charge on my pc.. I'm concerned with connecting to my pc period. I can't connect at all. The bootloader is locked because I can't connect to pc to unlock it. So to recap. Quick charge will not work on the block at all so I lack being able to quick charge, and I cannot connect to a pc via USB. I have tried all the fixes I can think of in my original post with no success unless I missed something?
I'm thinking I'm gunna have to tear this phone apart and replace the dang port... Lol. Too easy.
