Hi there! This will be my first thread at XDA.
I've just upgraded my HTC Sensation from stock to InsertCoin 6.0.0, and also installed the Beats Audio media player.
While I removed my SD card, inserted it into my PC, and copied 274 mp3 tracks to it, the standard music player couldn't play any of the songs. Also, the Photo Gallery wasn't able to find new pictures anymore.
People told me that my SD card was bad, which I found a little bit strange. The app "File Manager" was flawlessly able to find all of the pictures, and also the music, which actually could be played by the HTC music player by the app itself. I think this is caused by a bug or something, so I found out the fix myself:
1. Download a file browser app like "File manager" or "ES File Explorer"
2. Delete the folder /sdcard/music (or format the SD card, but make sure to backup the content you wish to keep!)
3. Create a new folder called "Music" at the root of your SD card
4. Get the app "Wifi File Explorer" from Google Play
5. Activate the WiFi (All Apps > Settings > Wireless & Networks > WiFi for older phones)
6. Open the browser and insert the URL shown by the app
7. Upload a file, open the music app, and see if it plays. If it works: zip all the songs, send them to the phone, and unzip them by clicking "unzip" next to the folder in the browser.
If it doesn't, I'm afraid you'll have to format your SD card. (All apps > Settings > Storage > Unmount SD card, and then Delete (Format) SD card)
Hope it'll help someone out there! Cheers
Edit: To avoid that this will happen again, connect your phone to the PC using a USB cable by the next time.
Edit #2: USB file transfer results exactly the same. I strongly recommend using Wifi File Explorer (or similar) to transfer desired data files between the PC and smartphone.
Playing music issues
Helou.
My GF reached your post looking for a solution to the same problem you had. Then she contacted me. In case you are still having this problem, is rather simply caused by a lack of trigger of the media scan. Every time you copy a media file to your phone's memory, it should trigger this action, but sometimes it doesnt happens (dont ask me why, it should). In fact, the solution you give is that the Wifi Explorer app correctly triggers the media scan. You can save precious minutes by just installing this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.addz.mediascanner
And run it every time you copy/move files around from your pc to your phone.
If it helped, then update your thread with the solution, you never know when someone is looking for the same problem (then again, is one month old, maybe you're no longer here)
It worked for me.
I know this is an old thread and I didn't see where anyone noted that the solution worked. I have an HTC Incredible that was flaking out on me. The issue stated in this thread came up when I was reloading my music onto my SD card. I came across this forum and looked up the app recommended and it solved the problem. I am thankful for people out there who know what they are doing.
So how do you get it? The first step is to head over to this thread on the XDA Developers Forum. The top post includes a set of instructions and a download link for a zip archive containing three APK files that need to be installed in a particular order.
My Android 4.1 Galaxy Note II, with a KitKat launcher face-lift.
Now, advanced users who are already comfortable opening zip archives on their phone and managing files can do all of this downloading and installing directly on their Android phone. But in general, I recommend downloading the zip archive to your computer first, decompressing it, and placing the files somewhere you can access easily. To get them on your phone, email the each file individually (to limit the possibility of file size limitations) to an email account you can access from the phone. Alternately, you can send to Dropbox or Google Drive and then download them back down to your phone.
But before you proceed with installing them, make sure your phone is setup to work with files from sources other than Google. To do this, dive into your phone settings, select Security, and then with any luck you should see an option to accept files from "unknown sources." Make sure the box is checked and then back out to your home screen.
You'll also need to make sure you're comfortable with the worst case scenario: a factory reset. Members of the XDA Forum have reported mostly successful results using devices running Android 4.2 or later. Anything earlier is iffy. My Galaxy Note II running Android 4.1 was a rare exception, but even then, features such as Google Now voice commands did not work properly. This is a "use at your own risk" procedure, so make sure your photos, videos, data and settings are backed up before attempting this.
After installing the last of the APK files, you'll be walked through the introduction to the new KitKat launcher.
Once the files are accessible from your phone, via email or whatever method you chose, select the PreBuiltGMScore APK file first. You may be given a choice of how to install the APK. I went with the Package Installer, but other options may be just as viable. It may also warn you that you are replacing an existing file -- that's fine. Once installed, simply hit Done and move on to the next file, which in this case is the Velvet APK. Rinse and repeat, and finally move on to the GoogleHome APK file. At the end of installing that one, however, you'll want to hit Open instead of Done. Doing so will usher you into clean, slick world of the KitKat launcher.
As your first order of business, I suggest a tap and hold on the home screen, which will bring up options for changing the wallpaper, installing home screen widgets, and configuring your Google Now experience. If nothing else, choosing from the new wallpapers will help complete the KitKat transformation.
Hello everyone,
:crying:
I have a ROOTED Hisence HS-U980 Infinity Pure 1 . Running android 4.2.1
I use TIBU data profiles like crazy. And I use alot of profiles, and once I finish, I delete the unneeded ones.
Anyway,
I was using data profiles today as usual, and I changed the profile to a different one -as always-, but this time I noticed that titanium backup told me "Data profile changed to "...." and applied to 0 apps". ZERO APPS
I was like "Whaaaaaatttttt!!!!". I went after that to the apps I use, to check and see if the multiple profiles for them are somehow disabled. But NO, they are on. So I tried disabling multiple data profiles for them to see what going on with the feature.
And this is what I got: "Sorry, a problem occurred when switching the data profiles for .... app"
And it shows to all the apps I use multiple profiles with. So I think the problem is within TIBU.
What should I do?
I don't want to lose my data on my apps,
Thanks for your help.
EDIT: and BTW, when I activate multiple profiles for a new app, it works fine. But all the previous ones are in error.
SOLUTION
[SOLUTION]
I managed to solve the issue, here are the steps.
- First make a new data profile for this, so that we work away from your old data profiles, and hopefully not lose any former data.
- Go to " /Device/data/data/ " (and there you will find all the apps folders, search for your app folder and enter it)
- (In your app folder) Backup/copy all the data in here -for insurance-, or just copy the needed ones. (you will also see folders named after your data profiles)
- (In your app folder) You will see a folder -mostly hidden- named " .data_profiles ". This is the one causing the error for your app. Delete it, but make sure you don't delete something important inside it, like data profiles or something, unless you made a copy of them.
- Now go back to TIBU , and go to your app, you will see that the multiple profiles feature is now disabled because we deleted ".data_profiles" folder.
- Enable multiple profiles feature for the needed app.( you will see that TIBU will tell you that the current data will be assigned to the current data profile, which is the one we made first.)(CAUTION: THIS STEP WILL DELETE ALL PREVIOUS APP DATA PROFILES FOLDERS FOR THE APP YOU ARE WORKING ON , because now TIBU thinks that this is the first time this app uses data profile, therefore, it will delete all previous data folders to make new ones)
- Now, the multiple profiles feature is re-enabled for your app.
- Go again to your app data folder, and PASTE any needed info from the data you copied previously.(but don't paste the ".data_profiles" folder. You can paste the data that were in it before -if any-, but dont paste the folder itself)
-DONE
"Sorry, problem occured while switching profile data for watsapp 2.12"

Please explain for those of us who are not experts: What are you talking about here:
- Go to " /Device/data/data/ "
Do you mean on your internal storage on the phone, or what?
Hello. Sorry for being away for so long. Thought the details were enough and never checked back on this thread.
Anyway, "Do you mean on your internal storage on the phone, or what?",
If my memory serves me right, I believe it is only on the internal storage. If you are using data profiles then you are rooted and have access to the internal storage. Go there and check it out and also show any hidden folders if they are not visible.
Good luck.

Please follow the steps one by one and your problem will be solved. Backup "copy/paste" your data profile folders first before you do anything.
This problem is caused by TIBU for some reason. Corrupted directory of some sort and this is why you need to do the steps mentioned and make TIBU create a new folder. Then you can paste your old data profile information and regain access.
Again, don't paste the whole folder, just the contents inside.
In my solution, what I am explaining is:
There is a folde directory making a problem for TIBU. This directory needs to be deleted. But NOT the contents and data inside it. Making a new version of the problem directory will fix the issue.
In short, the solution is: (From internal storage), backing up all the data profiles for the application you are using, then deleting the directory that is causing the problem "".data_profiles" folder", then going back to TIBU and REACTIVATING multiple profiles for your application will create a clean copy of " ".data_profiles" folder ". Paste the old contents you copied before from ".data_profiles" folder into the NEW version of ".data_profiles" folder. This will fix the problem.
THIS WAY TO SOLVE AN ERROR DATA PROFILE'S ENABLE BUT SHOW ERROR WHEN USER TRY TO DISABLE THEM.
This caused damage may the user change or other activity to system root like change device id with other app or imei with other app where they not supported by TIBU.
Ok, let go to fix.
(CAUTION!!! THIS IS NOT ONLY ONE THE WAY TO FIX THEM IT'S JUST ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE BUT IT'S WORK FOR MY PROBLEM LIKE THIS)
STEPS:
1. OPEN THE TIBU PRO
2. NEXT -> GOTO BATCH ACTIONS
3. CHOOSE -> MANIPULATED DATA -> RUN WIPE DATA FOR USER & SYSTEM APPS
4. THEN YOU WILL SEE THE WIPE DATA FOR USER & SYSTEM APPS AND AND APPS LIST.
5. TAP INVERT SELECTION
6. THEN CHOOSE YOUR APPS WHERE YOU ENABLE MULTIPLE DATA PROFILES BEFORE.
7. TO EXECUTE AND FIX THEM TAP THE SUBMIT BUTTON IN THE RIGHT TOP CORNER OR TAP THIS BUTTON [√].
8. REBOOT YOUR PHONE (DO NOT USE A SOFT REBOOT) BUT FULL REBOOT.
9. OPEN AGAIN TIBU, AND ENJOY WITH PROFILE AGAIN.

If you have installed the Windows app v1.0 you have to uninstall it and use the live version. If you want to move your current data (messages, trusted devices and configuration) you have to:
- open the directory "c:\users\your_user_name\appdata\local\apps\2.0"
- locate the "easyjoin.exe" file. In the same directory exist the directory "data".
- Copy and paste the "data" directory in the directory "easyjoin.live"
From v1.0.1 you have to follow the steps below to update the Windows version:
1. unzip the " easyjoin.portable-v*.zip" file
2. select all files in folder "easyjoin.portable*"
3. copy the selected files in the folder with the current installation of the program
Note: All your data (devices, messages, settings) are in the "data" folder. By following the above procedure you don't delete your data, you only update the program.
In the Windows version there is a button in the "Settings" menu to check for updates.
Great App.
Your app is very useful. I am using it on windows 10 and android devices. It's working very smooth.
Suggestions:
1. If possible you should add an option to select different sound for notifications.
2. You should add theme options in future updates.
3. In message section, Long pressing on message or file should select the message. Just like you can select message & It gives more options in whatsApp.
4. Are you planning to make an app for iOS in future?
Uninstall guide for Windows app.
You should add step by step uninstall guide for windows app. I am a very basic windows 10 user and I am not able to uninstall the app. I am not able to find directory. It would be great if you can help me with it. Thanks in advance!

About uninstalling the windows version. All you have to do is delete the directory containing the program. Only, if you have enabled the "startup on boot", you have to disabled it in order to remove the key from the registry. Is a self contained app, if you exclude the Microsoft .NET Framework that you have installed separately, and all the files that it use are in the same folder/subfolder.
1,2 are in the todo list.
3. will be available in the next version.
4. Creating an iOs version is not in the current plan because I miss the hardware needed for development.

Available from version 1.0.10. You can send a message (text or file/image) to another application. You can also select multiple messages to forward to an other device or delete.
Awesome!
That's awesome and It was fast! Thanks a lot for quick update!
Just one suggestion about point 3. When you select text, there should be an option to copy it. Just like WhatsApp.
*About uninstalling windows version:
- I am not able to find the directory. Is it unzipped folder location for easyjoin.exe file? Deleting easyjoin.exe deletes the program, right?
- Also what's the location for that registry file?
*About future plans:
1.What are your plans about easyjoin?
2.There are only few good apps that does file sharing notification sharing for devices. Is it a fun project to provide a free app to users or You are planning to make premium version in future?
3.When did you think about making this app? Are you working on some other apps?

Is the folder containing the easyjoin.exe file. If you have enabled "startup on boot" open the app, uncheck the box and then delete the easyjoin folder. The registry file is the Windows one but don't worry about it, just follow the above instructions..
My plan at the moment is to create an easy-to-use application, improve the UI (the current user interface should be considered in alpha version), which does not need an external server to share files and notifications and do not overwhelm the user with advertising.
Android app update
There is a new file browser to select the files or folder to send to other devices.
You can use the file browser as stand alone app - there is a new icon in the app list.
Very good job. 'Till now I've used an app that use the ip addresss within the same network to make connection between phone and pc. But your app is faster and simpler.
Hi, i like it. Will you implement a Exit / run-in-background choice on Android?
That would be a great addition. But It will use some battery, right?

Hello. The app continues to run in the background even when you exit. Is that what you are asking for or have I misunderstood?
Btw in my devices I have not noticed an increase in battery consumption leaving the app running in the background.

The key word is "choice".
Sooner or later i always have to manage apps with services (freeze, take away receiver intent or uninstall if they refuse to play along) because no matter how small the impact (battery drain, CPU time, RAM) it just sums up.... (or because i hate not be in control...otherwise i would accept an iphone-approach).
So if it does not hurt your philosophy and you like the power of the user, pretty please provide a choice. Thanks for considering.

I'm on windows 8.1, what am I supposed to do to install this program?
edit, it's ok once I kicked my antivirus a bit, I got it working
How to add something as a trusted device though?

If I am correct, You need to download that zip file. (Link for zip is in the main post or you can download it from easyjoin.net)
Unzip that downloaded file. Open the folder. There will be .exe file. Run it & Pin it to taskbar. So that you can open from there.

Edit: Open EasyJoin on both devices. The app will detect available device with It's default/given name. There will be a + button with device name. Click on it to add it as trusted device.

VeProid7 was correct. Btw if you have issues with the Windows firewall you can use the vbscript file to open the port. You can execute the vbscript file directly from the folder or from the "Settings" window.

Hello!
I want to get my whatsapp keyfile, but I'm having a lot of trouble... and I don't want to root due to warranty.
Things I've tried:
Full backup: turns out at some point, google added the option for apps to control which files are backed up, and thus, I can't get a backup that includes the keyfile... This led me to:
installing an older version of whatsapp, from before the version of android which allows control over what is backed up. however, due to a bug, I can't verify my number with the older version, so... no keyfile.
editing the apk to allow a full backup - didn't work. Tried with APK easy, with the option to use the original signature enabled, but the change to the manifest XML is detected and I can't verify my number.
Extracting the key from whatsapp web, and using python scripts that can be found on github to decode my encrypted conversation. However, I couldn't figure out from the scripts what the format of the keyfile is...
I'm out of ideas, so I'm hoping someone could tell me how to translate the data found in whatsapp web (F12 on chrome/firefox, "Application" -> Local Storage -> "https://web.whatsapp.com" -> WASecretBundle on chrome, "Storage" -> Local Storage -> "https://web.whatsapp.com" -> WASecretBundle on firefox) into a keyfile.
Or offer up another way to get that keyfile. I've been foiled at every turn...
