Hi,
I have poor 3g signal at home. I would like to use NFC tag to setup my N5 into 2G mode everytime I come home.
The issue is that I have checked few apps in google play and none of them have this functionality (to program NFC tag like above).
Is there any app that might help me? Is there any "custom" command I could use to program the NFC tag that makes the network switch to 2G mode?
Thanks in advance.
Have anyone tried to use build-in SIP client aka Internet calling? In my case it works, but without any sound. It doesn't matter if it's over WiFi or mobile network, so it's not network configuration. And yes, I've tried both UDP and TCP options. Even more, build-in SIP on Samsung on the same network, with the same SIP provider and with the same Android 4.4.2 works perfectly. Third-party clients are working also, but it's not convenient.
Any thoughts?
Hi Myxolove
I was also keen on using the internal SIP client after I purchased the phone, it did not work same problems, i am on MT7-TL09
where did you get TL10 ? it is only released TL09 on the offical webpage., i just checked.
Which Solution did you use?
I have a SIP Phone number for one free provider called sipgate and one or two SIP callout accounts with betamax, which i pay
which would be a good client for me? i really want to use internet calling again its sooooo cheap
thanks and best regards, ant0n
Yes. I also have same issue with my Huawei Ascend Mate7. I contacted my VOIP provider (peenytel) , the asked me to configure following
("Kindly go to settings on your phone and go to audio configurations and select
codec of G711Alaw or G711Ulaw and reboot your phone and make a test call.")
but I can't find this feture with my SIP seeting. I guess that it is the reason for what we are experience.
I am searching on how to lock 4g in my huawei p30, but the result seems to fail. But accidentally i did it just now. Haha. Not an expert, but i want to help other. Just remember that if you lock 4g in your phone, phone call and sms become unable, but still you can switch to auto instead of locking 4g everytime and the phone call and sms has no problem.
First, I used this tutorial:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/me...te-4g-mode-t3828656/post77318151#post77318151
After that, uninstall the system database editor application and restart your phone. Then goto the setting>wireless and network>mobile network>4g toggle. There you need to turn off the toggle for awhile and search for network mode, set to LTE.
Congratulations to you all. Yeay.
I have a Huawei Mate 9 with EMUI 8 on AT&T. I need to get it to EMUI 9 for VoLTE operation. It won't do that automatically in the US.
I first need to unlock the bootloader and I do have the password.
I have spent days trying to do this making baby steps and I am totally frustrated and currently here :
Phone is in Developer mode with OEM Unlocking, Allow ADB debugging in charge only mode and USB debugging enabled.
I open Powershell in ADB & Fastboot Portable folder and enter:
./ADB reboot bootloader
Phone boots into bootloader showing:
Android reboot reason:
bootloader 1
NA
reboot_enter_fastboot_common_func
PHONE Locked
FRP Unlock
If I enter:
./fastboot flashing unlock
I get:
FAILED (remote: 'check password failed!')
fastboot: error: Command failed
I do not have any locks or passwords on my phone.
Where do I go from here???????
Follow on question will be:
Where do I get a version of EMUI 9, or an Android Pie version for this phone?
Thank you for bringing back my sanity.
I managed to get it to android 9. My provider still says it cannot do VoLTE. Is that true? If not, how do I enable VoLTE.
I still would like to know how to unlock bootloader.
It depends on what band you can use in your area. I can use Band 2 VoLTE in SF bay area. I call H2O(ATT) to enable LTE/4G on Mate 9. I have to reset network setting to get VoLTE. You can use"Network Cell Info Lite" or "NetMonitor" to check whether you on 4G/LTE
I have a Huawei Mate 8 with EMUI 8. But it does support VoLTE.

network cell info lite says my phone is not VoLTE capable. It is now on Android 9 and I don't find any indication of a switch to turn it on so I guess the Mate 9 is not VoLTE. But you say it is working on your Mate 9. When I talked to H2O, they had no clue and basically said my Mate 9 was not capable. That was with EMUI 8. So, Android 9 did not change anything.
Depending on the operator, a phone must sometimes be operator-branded and/or use operator-customised system software to be able to use VoLTE. Your subscription (incl. SIM card) must support VoLTE for the device model you're using. To inquire if your device, software, subscription and SIM card support VoLTE, contact your mobile network operator.
A phone's VoLTE capability basically doesn't depend on Android OS.
I get one support person saying it is compatible and another sayng it isn't, then another saying it is...........

Does Network cell info show Mate 9 on LTE H2O? if it still show LTE H2O when you make a call, that mean ATT did made a change on their side.
under GAUGE, NCI Lite shows HSPA H2O
Under STATS it shows 100% 3G
Under HISTORY it shows 3G
If I set the Preferred network mode to LTE/WCDMA/GSM auto, I don't receive calls but I can make them.
If it is set to WCDMA/GSM auto everything works both incoming and outgoing calls, text, & data.
So it appears it is only doing 3G. Why am I getting mixed messages from H2O?
I had a LTE/4G switch under EMUI 8 but it is not there under Android 9.1.
However, when I turned it on I got the same response as selecting LTE/WCDMA/GSM auto.
So, why does yours work and mine does not??????????

Here what happened to me when I call.
operator: there is no LTE support for Mate 9
I: Someone use ATT and has Mate 9 support LTE.
Operator: ok, let me work on it. It set, reboot your phone, it should work. Reset network settings if it does not work.
what I did
1. reboot, H2O still uses 3G when I made calls
2. Reset network settings, and reboot. H2O on 4G LTE when I make calls.
When I had set it to LTE (in 8 or 9), I could make calls but I could not receive calls.
So, you can make AND receive calls?
My network settings are:
H2O INTERNET
PRODATA
MMSC = http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS proxy = proxy.mobile.att.net
APN type = defult,mms,supl
APN protocol = IPv4
Does that match yours?
Almost, I have MMS port 80
Try
1. Call H2O to provision VoLTE
2. Reset NETWORK SETTINGS. This step clear APN setting too, enter APN setting after reset, reboot
Yes, my MMS is also port 80. So, by your experience, H2O has not provisioned VoLTE for my phone. I will try calling them one more time.
What is your Preferred network mode, LTE/WCDMA/GSM auto, or WCDMA/GSM auto?
Thanks
LTE/WCDMA/GSM auto
you need to perform step 2 after provider setup on their side.
I will give them a call in the AM. Thanks
If I set mine to that, I do not rcv any calls.
Everything else works.

Dozens of Huawei and Honor devices with Kirin processors can now be bootloader unlocked
Using this open-source tool, you can now unlock the bootloader of several HiSilicon Kirin-powered Huawei and Honor devices. Check it out!

I have a Nord CE 2 5G but if it's possible I prefer to psot here. The option is in grey in the settings so I can't enable it (the VoLTE). I wonder if it's because of my operator ? Does anyone have the same problem ? When I call someone I don't have 4G.
In order for 4G LTE to work for my carrier I had to root my phone and manually set some system properties. If you want to go that far, here is the method I used: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/no-volte-vowifi-option.4407847/post-86667137. Unfortunately, I don't think you can force 5G in the same way.
