Though...
if i look on the UK website i see a newer version CPH2025_11_A.18 which some important fixes:
https://oppo-uk.custhelp.com/app/software_update_detail/p_name/Find+X2+Pro

[System]
• Improved system performance and stability.

• Fixed several Wi-Fi connection issues and optimised Wi-Fi performance.
[Camera]

Question can i flash this version from UK? Has anyone tried and if so what is the method to use?
Thanks very much! (will push thanks!)
I flash this version over my version on my X2 Pro (which bought in France, Orange shop) and everything is fine so for me yes you can.
As long as you flash a firmware with the right model numnber (CH2025), which is the case here
Should be OK, as previously stated. Also be aware though, that the A.x number doesn't appear to correlate to anything. Some higher numbers are actually older? I also got an OTA update to A.22 after previously having UK version. This doesn't show on the website?
Thanks guys! (click!)

How do you flash it? On the Oppo website it mentions SDCard method. I assume flashing it is the same though you use Internal Memory yeah?

No.. v18 seems to be the latest available to download. It says May Security so isn't that old. Is your v22 June Security Update?

Don't think so. Just totally random numbering. V22 deffo came OTA ?
You download it on your phone (downloads folder). Then you reboot in bootloader nd from there you will see "update firmware" or something like that and somewhere else it's written "update from device", at that moment you will have to find the file in the "downloads" folder.

Something strange about these versions. i was on .21 (Thai dual sim), decided to clean install the UK version .18. Didn't do any changes (still had some Thai applications), then i went back to the software update section of settings, and there, surprise i see "update to .21" and it didn't change anything. I can't get the .22 (i tried to find it only, VPN, nothing...) and Even the .22 apparently also has may security patch and we are the 12th of June. So it's very odd.
Now this is where it gets interesting. on my thai phone, i don't have the option of using 5g in my sim settings (yes i have 5G with my carrier and i've used it already on another phone. Apparently there are "rumors" that The Thai version will be updated with a Firmware that will enable the dual sim on that "version". So... i'm really wondering how come that the Uk, Swiss, etc version have working 5G ... and not the thai.

Did the update work all ok on the Australian phone? Everything still work? 5g etc? Is the AU version dual Sim?

Everything works after update.
Mine is AU single sim version. I was looking everywhere in AU for dual-sims CPH2025 as well but nobody is selling them. Only way I found is to import one myself from Thailand but couldn't be bothered. I'm also concern about after sales service, warranty etc so I end up buying locally. Saving me from potential headache

I am getting my Sony "U.S" Version just because of its warranty, is there a way i can Enable the fingerprint. Please help
currently all you could do is flash the International firmware. I haven't really looked into anything though personally. I'm not sure how they disabled it, maybe changing a 0 to 1 somewhere but I doubt it.
Yes I got the US version from Amazon and just flashed the CE1 firmware and fingerprint works after flashing that firmware

Buy it from the UK. Same warranty. No need to flash anything. Save about $100.00

It doesn't have US warranty, probably you have to send it back to UK. Personally I don't care about warranties, never had to use for any of my many phones until now partly because don't keep the phone that long. The other advantage buying from Amazon US is ease of return in case you don't like the phone. If you played with it before and 100% sure you like the phone and will definitely keeping it, then yeah better to buy from clove and save the extra $150 or change.

Can you post a simple guide to do this with some links on where to get all the tools firmware, flashy oil etc... Also I think there are some alternatives for the firmware such as the US and European version any differences between them?

I used the newflasher tool in the below link. Personally this is my first Xperia device in a long time and haven't used the Xperia flashing tools before.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3619426
1. Make sure you have the right drivers installed. I installed Xperia companion tool since someone mentioned that should install all the drivers. I also installed the flash tool and fastboot drivers from Xperia flash tool since I had issues putting my phone in flash mode. If you are using Windows 10 you have disable verify driver signing in boot before installing the flash tool drivers.
2. Download the firmware of your choice, I chose CE1 (Central Europe) firmware over other Asian firmware.
3. Then follow the instructions in the thread to flash.
Main issue I had was putting my phone in flash mode. But apparently flash mode doesn't have any screen like recovery etc. You just have to turn off your phone then while holding the volume button down connect your phone via USB. That should put in flash mode even though you don't get any screen to say it's in flash mode.
Once I put in flash mode everything went fine by following instructions in the thread.
Thanks,
So when you downloaded the files with XperiFirm and used NewFlasher did you delete any of the files or just drop newflasher into the created directory and flashed everything.

Just dropped all newflasher files into the created firmware directory and just ran the newflasher application from that directory. It flashed everything in there.
I know the thread says if you want you can remove specific things from the firmware directory if you don't want to flash certain things. But I didn't see any reason to do that and I never care about wiping my device since all my info is backed up in the cloud and takes around 30 minutes to restore and be up and running again. Just to be safe I flashed everything so that it doesn't screw up anything. I haven't used the Xperia flash tools before so kept it simple.

I'm pretty sure it's the US model because the fingerprint sensor is disable.
there is no VOLTE on this phone, no menu options for advanced calling like wifi calling either.

Must be an Branding/Software issue i guess.
On the unbranded EU version, both is available.
wifi calling: Settings -> Wireless&Networks -> Wi-Fi Calling
VoLTE: Settings -> Wireless&Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Enable VoLTE

I bought mine from the UK (not sure if it is the same as the unbranded EU version you mention) and when I look for those same settings they do not exist.

Could be that the settings are not available unless your carrier/plan supports them. Pretty sure anyone slipping a T Mobile sim in has those services.
Can I ask any SIM FREE Nokia 3 users in UK if they have received the Android 8.0 update as of May 19th?
I suspect my network could be to blame for the delay, as I'm using PLUSNET (which piggybacks the EE network)
The device is currently on android 7.1.1 and was purchased from the carphone warehouse in Norwich brand new and SIM free some six weeks ago.
I'm also experiencing a strange occurrence after a factory reset.
The EE app keeps getting automatically installed after a factory reset, which is strange because I'm not an EE customer!
Can anyone confirm their update in UK or explain why the EE app is getting installed to a sim free device after initial set up?

It's not just you I am on Three UK as is my friend both devices are sim free and his has never been rooted or bootloader unlocked. The Carrier app's get installed due to some .xml settings in the CDA Partition which check the network id number and then install the appropriate app if one exists.
Not sure why the UK is one of the last to get the official Oreo update but hopefully it will very arrive soon. :fingers-crossed:

Well, I've got the update but the process is a little long winded and had a hiccup along the way.
So, you need to remove the SIM card.
factory reset.
Sign into WiFi and Google account.
Select to restore your back up (this can be skipped if desired)
Once the back up is restored, connect to a Finland VPN
(I used express VPN from playstore)
Check for system updates, it will give you the android 8.0 notification.
Select to download
(I had to download it twice as the first time I encountered a verification error)
Allow to install.
After reboot replace sim card.
The process takes roughly 45 minutes to complete.
Edit
I've just read on Reddit there is an issue with all Nokia devices receiving any system updates in UK that Nokia / HMD will not confirm.
It's not good we have to factory reset and select other nations VPN to get system updates.

Cheers for the info. :good:
Is the TA-1020 available in India
If it's not then that would explain why the Indian VPN did not work.
I will wait and see if they sort it out as I am on the Oreo Beta anyway and now they have released the Kernel source my aim would be to try build LineageOS or some other OS.
If anyone with the TA-1020 who has installed the official Oreo could pull the system, boot and recovery with SPFlashTool for me that would be great as I would like to use the none beta Oreo for building the device and vendor trees. :fingers-crossed:
PS:
BTW What is the Kernel version on the Official Oreo as they have released the 3.18 version and I was kinda expecting the 4.4 version.

I've haven't yet had under full strength signal on 3G or 4G, but I've only had the 8.0 for update 24 hours so I'll keep my eye on it.
Battery is much better on Oreo, last 3 to 4 hours longer than 7.1.1

Did you try the VPN trick without the factory reset?
I don't understand why HMD aren't providing the files to flash manually as that would help get the update out to the UK faster.

OK, so maybe it's a bug that clears up after the factory reset. I know that on reddit some people are saying that just removing the SIM and clearing the Google Services Framework works as well so I'll give that a try and see what happens.

Yes I read the Reddit posts regarding clearing Google play services data and that was the first step I tried (as well as removing the sim)
That didn't work so I then spent last weekend using the factory reset / VPN method, but I found the India VPN method didn't work either.
I did not have any success with getting the 8.0 update notification until I factory reset and tried the Finland VPN, which worked fine.
I would be careful using the VPN method as one person on the Nokia Support forums has had issues with mobile data:
https://community.phones.nokia.com/support/discussions/topics/7000025647
It could also be related to the fact that there are two different versions of the Nokia 3, the TA-1032 and the TA-1020. The TA-1032 seems to be receiving the Oreo update but the TA-1020 seems to have been forgotten.

When I was trying to update with that configuration, it told me I didn't have any updates... I removed SIM1 and left only the Spanish one in the SIM2 and TA-DA! I have the 163 available and installing now! Just in case you can do something similar! If you have a family member/friend with a SIm from a country where an update is available, you can ask for it for a minute so you can update!

i tried updating via odin with home_csc (without losing any data) but the update process failed. i had to flash the previous ASJG to have my phone working again.
i think you have to perform a clean flash with data wipe to update, or just wait for the OTA
I don't see any big differences Used Dark Theme and Night mode on Android 9 already and it does not seem to be very different?
Seems pretty minimal for changes so I will just wait for an OTA. No hurry.
Only reason why I want one ui 2.0 are gestures. Those in one ui 1.0 are joke and I don't like classic android buttons.
Can I flash this FW to S10e which has CSC: TMZ ? ? (T-Mobile Czech)

Yes. After your insert the SIM the CSC will change back to TMZ, but you won't get OTAs that way
So is this the stable Android 10? Can i just flash it over ASJG?

So I flashed this german rom with CSC: DBT. I flashed it without sim in phone after that I turned the phone on set it up and checked CSC. CSC was DBT. Then I inserted slovak Orange sim card and CSC is still DBT. I am very pleased, because I don't have any T-Mobile crap on the phone and everything works great.
Found some bugs:
1. In recovery:
E:[libfs_mgr]Unable to disable quotas on /dev/block/platform/13d60000.ufs/by-name/userdata because /system/bin/tune2fs is missing
E:[libfs_mgr]Failed trying to run /system/bin/e2fsck
2. The device keeps showing battery charging status when screen off after reboot although it was disabled in settings
3. Sometimes the "manually orientation" button is at wrong position, smt right top, smt left top (It should be at the bottom right of screen)
I can't change location on weather widget by doing an up/down swipe on it.

Yes, it reverts only to the region CSC, not the provider.

Do you mean nav bar buttons?
Mine is not on OneUI2 yet and I have gesture access available instead of navbar buttons. I tried it and went back to buttons. Is there something different in One UI2 ?
Review after installing the new android q on the s10e
The OS feels a little bit unstable, sometimes even buggy, but it's definitely the most solid build out yet. One bug i noticed was the that in the Hotspot menu you can't really control the devices you agree to connect.
Can someone help me? Before the update I could set the Facebook messenger apps notification not to show the actual message only sound, vibration and the icon on the upper bar. If I wanted to see the message quickly, I just did a swipe down to see the notification panel. Now I can't find the settings for this. Whenever I got a new message a little window appears with the sender's name but without the actual message and I can't see the message when I swipe down, only if I open the app.
Hello everyone. I am new to sammy phones... always have had htc and OnePlus...even now i still have 1+6 and i got this one (s10e) for the size of it and nice cameras (mostly for the ultrawide). Have been running android 10 on it since yesterday and it feels solid and stable for me.Im in Europe and i have exyons version. Clean install ,as always with new OS version. Phone is really nice but i hate this gestures from Samsung
Is there a way to properly install twrp/magisk/viper4android on this phone with android 10 ?

Hi,
Sorry for my late answer. Yes in one ui 2.0 you can choose between samsung's nav gestures which are same as in old one ui 1.0 or you can choose new android 10 gestures which are made by google.
Simply sad new android 10 gestures are very similar to the IOS gestures. So for me they are great.
It is about 1 week since i did the upgrade and I can tell you guys what really improved is battery life. Mainly battery drain when phone ia not used. My phone went down from around 3.1 percent per hour to 1 max 2 percent per hour when not used. It might not sound as much a difference, but I clearly see more battery left after a day work.
Just got official OTA Android 10 (Oneui 2) in Greece on my S10e. Buttery smooth. Multitasking is a dream!

Are you using exynos or snapdragon variant?
I bought my now rooted 6A via Aliexpress, and I live in Canada.
Current version is TQ1A.230205.002.
Looking through past updates, this is the first time they've singled out "Canada" for a specific update... Which version should I be patching/flashing, given that my phone came from overseas (but has the NA bands)?
13.0.0 (TQ2A.230305.008.E1, Mar 2023)
OR
13.0.0 (TQ2A.230305.008.F1, Mar 2023, WINDTRE/Canada)
From what I can see, Windtre is a specific carrier. I would go with The standard version for unlocked phones. If that's wrong then the process should abort itself before making any changes
The specific versions seem to be based on carriers. Wind Tre looks like an Italian carrier, so I'd guess the "Canada" applies for use with all Canadian carriers. Or, it may be based on some regulatory difference. Google sucks at transparency. But, the specific versions come and go, so I'd guess they're all about something which didn't get integrated into the mainline code in time, so they had to create a special version.
I would go with the WINDTRE/Canada version. You're rooted, so you could always switch if you have trouble.

Or if it is the wrong one you can just flash right over it with the Canadian one. But I really think that is for a French or Italian Canadian carrier that you don't subscribe to.

Okay I'll patch both of them first, then I'll see what sticks, thanks!
Follow up question: how do you do a nandroid backup?
I went to find TWRP and apparently boot.img is now part of the recovery partition so it won't work?
Can I just boot to TWRP using adb/fastboot from my computer to make the backup?
Just got this phone recently, so I haven't had the need to backup + update until now... Plus the whole "patching the security exploit" thing.
Dude, I would not start with the Windtre one. Sounds like it could just be a striped down/limited version. It looks like that rom might specifically limit access to specific bands that Windtre doesn't allow their customers to access.
I found this on Reddit about the pixel 7:
Google "even limited the band bandwidth on NR, like 20mhz for N3
It isn't a huge problem, unless some operator add/remove bandwidth on a certain NR band
This is the case with WINDTRE (Italy, 222-88): they recently added 20mhz to their N78 spectrum (before it was max 40mhz on some regions, others 20mhz, now every region is 60mhz) and now you can't use their N78 at all
Why?
Because on their carrier policy, WindTre SIMs can use only 40mhz, 20mhz and 40+20mhz on N78 (last case is NR CA, not 60mhz)
It's really great to have a 900€ phone (Pixel 7 Pro) that can't connect to N78 thanks to Google "
Good luck. Let us know how it goes!

If you find a good back up process, lemme know. I need a good recovery option, too.
I did find this elaborate process on Reddit: I HAVE NEVER TRIED IT.

You guys had me worried, and couldn't even get the phone to get the update notification (to check the version of the update).
But when I was looking at downloading the two versions on Google's ROM depository I noticed that you can directly update the phone through Chrome on my desktop???
Man, has tech changed since my last phone (Mi A1 on Oreo)...
It ended up flashing the Global ROM, so the Italian/Canadian one wouldn't have worked.
Gave up on backing up my phone, so I just exported/uploaded the settings for my launcher + AOSP mods + a couple of others then just went for it.
Thanks again for the assistance!

Android flash tool: https://developers.google.com/android/images
Just scroll down to the image you want and click "flash" next to it
It'll give you instructions, as well as help you with the drivers if Chrome can't detect the phone, then will reboot it into bootloader, then recovery, then back to normal boot into an updated phone.
Make sure to check that the drivers for recovery/bootloader modes are already installed by booting into them beforehand... Otherwise you'll have a small panic as I did and have to boot your phone again manually by holding the power + volume down keys for 30ish seconds (until it reboots) due to Chrome not detecting your phone.
I'd also suggest using a back USB port on your mobo rather than plugging it into any of the front USB headers.

??? The flash tool should install whichever image you choose. I've never tried picking a completely wrong one, but I suspect it does have a simple check that at least you're flashing for the correct platform (e.g. Pixel 6a).
The carrier versions are what gets sent as an OTA update via the particular carrier(s). It's not clear how you determined that the carrier specific one "wouldn't have worked." I suspect either would boot and "work", although the incorrect one may not take full advantage of the carrier's capabilities or may experience minor issues. Google has never provided guidance on exactly what types of differences there are.

All I know is that I didn't get a warning, the global ROM's bands are working with my carrier's (Public Mobile - a subsidiary of Telus) after being flashed, and as you've stated Google hasn't been open with the differences... so I'm going to err on the side of caution (and international compatibility) and stick with what works.
I may revisit it if I travel inter-provincially and discover issues with coverage, but the US bands are what are compatible with what's used in Ontario.
