Hello Everyone
I am having a Mi pad 1st generation 16gb version , which i bought way back in 2015 via flipkart. But for the last one and a half year the device has been laying idle in my table because of a display problem. The display is having a black shadow/line all through it. This problem started to creep two years back, at first it was not permanent (used to come and sometimes seem alright, turns to be normal) but later on it turned out to be worse.
**There has been no water damage
**have fell down few times without a case and tempered glass but was working perfectly alright even after that.
Went to a local repair shop, but they told to replace the whole display module with a new one.
Contacted mi service in my area to check, but they no idea of this product.
Did hard reset multiple times but nothing changed
Is this a problem which can be fixed without a lcd swap , like a fixing loose lcd ribbon connection .
Or should i need to go for an lcd change ?
** tried posting image urls ,but unable to do so because I am a new member and this is my first post.
Thanks & Regards

Last night I was going to bed and tried to set up an alarm for the morning after. I then noticed that my PDA doesn't respond to touches. Everything else works just fine. There are some ripples on the screen and they can be noticed if you view it at a low angle. Here's how it looks:

The devise hasn't been abuse in any way. It hasn't been exposed to high nor too low temperatures(outside yesterday evening was around -2 ~ -3 degrees Celsius). Although I think that the short call I made(less than 10 seconds) couldn't have been enough to let the cold damage it. After and before that it has been in my trousers pocket.
Can anyone tell me what could have done this?
P.S. Digitizer - my mistake
Can't tell you what is the problem with your device but if it's digitizer you can get a cheap one here http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.32150
it's just you have to wait a few weeks for it to come (at least I had to with some other things I bought on DX)
and I didn't buy this digitiser so I can't tell you more about it.
Hi!
have you put the screen protector on it anytime recently? If so, remove it and try again. I had this also once - bought and screen protector from the local HTC dealer, put it on (done it always so it wasn't the first time) and after a while I had the same problem as you. I did everyhting, hard resets, put a new ROM on..nothing. I also noticed the "oily spots" so I was frustrated. Finally I removed the protector and all of the sudden everything worked again.
I then bought a new protector and put it on very gently, I almost didn't push the portector on the screen and it works again. Still don't know if it was just a bad protector or what ws wrong. Try it..much simpler and easier than to go for a new digitizer.

The last time I've put a new one was November and to be honest I didn't expect it to last this long... after all a six-pack cost about $4
Can't try it now though cause the device is still in warranty and I returned in the shop for repair. I'm going to phone the guys there and inform them and I hope it works, cause they said that the problem is from the OS and reinstalling it will fix the problem. Don't think that it'll help but after giving it to them it's their problem to fix it I just want it working and if possible - faster
P.S. Did your digitizer stopped working at all or you'd have to push really hard to respond?
I have the same problem, I heated the screen with a air blower and the screen started responding. I don t think it is a permanent repair but at least it saves the day. This is my first day of repair so I don't know how long it will last.
End of april I tried extreme heat and cold on the screen and all of a sudden it started responding again. I still have that oily look on the lcd but it is working properly for almost 2 months now. (Just a quick update) (In the meantime I ordered spare LCD to replace it next time it stops responding)
Greetings!
Today my phone dropped of the desk and closed...i powered it on again vibration was working but screen was black!I tried my old lcd same thing...
For what part should i search t find or it's pointless...??
probably a hardware problem, the clue that the software works that it vibtrates,ry and buy a new scren or go to a shop to fix it
I've change screen i tried my old one(touch(digitizer) problem)..so i think this ( cgi.ebay.co.uk/Keypad-PCB-Flex-Cable-HTC-TOUCH-PRO-T7272-/320597490986?pt=UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item4aa5197d2a ) will solve the problem...
PS: Cant post link cause of forum restrictions.
Hello Dimgr
I lost my Touch Pro last month ( MB gave up) other part are perfectly working. As HTC service center said MB is gone i got courage to look inside deeply.
Therefore i can can the link is NaviCap assembly which is noway handles screen.
What i can guess i could be BD Slide
I though it would be that cause the screen connects with navikey. My phone hit the floor with the screen and keyboard was on!(i cant explain it sorry for my bad english :/) Any other suggestions??I dont want to rip my phone .
Just one day my TP stopped responding to touch, everything else working.
After few days screen went black, but phone was starting Navi key were glowing while charging, even phone was getting detected by PC.
I gave my TP to HTC service center they said Mother Board has gone & it was costing almost a new phone.
So i decided to sale the parts.
I sold Navi key to one of member on this forum only & its working perfectly, this confirms my doubt that Navi key is not the bug in your case as well.
Three things could have happened.
1. The best scenario is the jolt from the drop just dislodged the ribbon cable connecting to the screen. Resolution: Reseat ribbon cable on screen and on body of the phone (requires to open the phone)
2. The screen simple is busted and needs to be replaced.
3. The motherboard got busted and needs to be replaced.
1. The phone is open i even tried another screen all ribbon cables are checked :/
2. The screen seems to be ok... I dont think that both screes are faulty!!!
3.R.I.P. Htc touch pro...
My situation was same & HTC service center concluded that motherboard is gone.
So i believe your motherboard is also gone & this means there something which stops working after physical.
Because after my phone stopped responding to Touch i gave some shock with a hope that it may help in case of loose connection, but next day screen gone black.
Hello,
a few months ago I ordered a Nexus 5. It came and worked well for 2 weeks then the screen started to randomly become unresponsive. Later on it completely stopped working and white lines were showing in the bottom and top of the screen. One day I disassembled it and removed the flex cable for first time, when I put it back the lines became bigger. I did it again and the whole screen went off, but the phone was on.
I ordered new screen, replaced it - it didn't work. It vibrated and made sounds, the phone was on, but the screen was just off (not black). I then thought it may be the USB board (little yellow one). I ordered new one, replaced it and, unfortunately, it didn't work again.
I now have a Nexus 5 with a new screen, new USB board, but completely off display. I have to mention that meanwhile changing the display I tried all possible fixes from cleaning the contacts with a cloth to cleaning them with alcohol. I know that I have tried pretty much everything, but I was still wondering if you guys can suggest something?
I must also say that from my observation the Nexus 5 has very bad build quality. My opinion doesn't change anything, but I just want to say it as a warning to someone thinking about buying this phone. The LG G2 for example has a lot better build quality.
Any help will be appreciated. I don't know what to do with this phone. Should I just sell it for parts?
Thanks.
Was the phone new or used when you received it?
If it was used, it could have been dropped by previous owner. It's also possible that the previous owner had swapped parts with another phone. Maybe the screen on the phone isn't an oem lg screen.

It was "refurbished", by Chinese people. When disassembling I noticed that the condition was awful. Part were missing like the NFC chip and the metal shield over the CPU and RAM was completely gone. I expected it, but the phone was working at the begging. I replaced the screen as I already stated.
What could be broken?
I have worked on new nexus 5 phones and find the quality to be good. I don't think a poorly refurbished nexus 5 is any indication of a new phone's build quality.
Hi
My son recently gave me his old Moto G5 phone. The phones charging board was broken and the screen was very badly cracked all over (it had a screen protector) and was generally not in the best of condition.
My son had bought a replacement screen several months ago, but had not got around to trying it. The battery was also totally flat.
So he gave me the phone and I installed a new charging board and the new screen and charged the battery.
Unfortunately an area of the new screen does not respond to key input . This area is a line of keys towards the bottom of the screen (not the bottom though).
My son says that he had not noticed any such problem when he last used it (he kept using it until the battery went flat; he then purchased a new phone).
I've tried doing a factory reset. I've removed and re-connected the display cable onto the main board and these have not fixed the problem .
I am not sure what to try next :crying::crying:. I could purchase yet another screen in case this new screen has a fault (probably unlikely?).
Presumably it could be the main board (digitizer?)...How can I find that out?
Maybe I have done something wrong on the install, but seems odd that the rest of the screen (as far as I can tell) works ok. What might I have done to have caused this problem?
Has anybody got any useful tips as to what I could try. Seems a waist of a good phone, not to try and repair it.
Thanks for reading this.
Good day everyone. It's about midnight here in Germany and I hope some of you can help me. The problem is I wanted to replace the display from my girlfriend's mi mix 3. After I spend about 150€ for the display and glue (which kinda sucks, need to buy another one) and getting a used broken screen replacement. I'm trying about a month to replace it. Finally I got all my parts but I turned of the DC dimming in settings an the display turned black. Twrp and co is working but as soon as the system starts the screen is getting black and I can't switch DC dimming on again. But even better, the flex cable from the LCD broke and I can't find a replacement part for it !!! I'm so frustrated. I hope some of you guys could help me with the DC dimming problem and maybe a seller for the cable :/.
