hello, I followed your instructions ( Post of OEL
"But there is a solution.
Go to developer options and enable wireless display certification.
Than go to "connection and sharing"/"wireless display and enable wireless display.
Now you see some stuff. Go to "operating channel" And change from auto to 6 or 11.
Now connect your tv." )
And I so i managed to connect my mi mix 3 in wireless display to my samsung smart tv and now finally works.
Thank you for this.
However When I then restart or turn on the smartphone, I activate the wireless display, and I have to set operating channel 11 again, otherwise it won't work. Why is channel 11 not stored?
second problem. the home modem is dual band. Samsung smart TVs connect to both networks. But my mi mix 3, connects in wireless display only if the TV is connected to the 2.4 ghz wifi network. If I connect the TV to 5.0 Ghz, the phone does not detect any Samsung smart TV. Please can you help me. I would prefer to use 5.0 in wireless display. Thanks
My phone mi mix 3 have miui globall stabile 11.0.40
Vers. Android 10

FOUND A SOLUTION!!!
So to summarize, my Huawei Mate 9 couldn't find my smartband Xiaomi Mi Band 2 under BT settings, for the purpose of using the band as a Smart Unlock device. After trying many things I found a solution that worked for me!! Try to follow these steps hopefully they help you to connect your Mi Band 2 with your Mate 9 too!
My starting point was band normally connected to my phone via Mi Band Master app, but undiscoverable under BT settings. This is what I did to fix it:
Turn BT OFF, Turn WIFI OFF.
Go to Settings -> Apps -> All -> More -> Show system proccesses and find Bluetooth Share and Bluetooth MIDI Service apps
Force stop and Storage -> Clear Data on both
Turn BT ON (keep WIFI OFF!!) and search for devices... if you're lucky Mi Band 2 will now show up!!! Try to connect. My first attempt failed, so next:
Turn BT OFF. Turn it back ON after few seconds
Open BLE Scanner app. When it finds the band, connect. When connected quickly:
Open BT settings again, search devices, when finds Mi Band 2, quickly connect and... BOOM!!
With some luck you should now be able to set Mi Band 2 as Smart Unlock device under Settings -> Screen lock & passwords -> Smart Unlock
Hope this helps, it helped me!
This is the original post I made:
Hello, I'm having trouble with my Mate 9 Bluetooth.
First of all, Bluetooth works, and my smartband Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is connected to my Mate 9 and it works fine.
However my problem is, I can't use the band for Smart Unlock feature, which worked perfectly on my previous phone (Huawei Nexus 6P).
The problem is, phone's bluetooth cant find the band. The band is connected and working via an app (Mi Band Master) and I can also without problems find it in BLE Scanner and connect to it... BUT, via normal phone bluetooth search screen, it doesnt find it. I enabled "Band is visible to other devices" in the app - which is something similar as "make device discoverable to BT devices" for devices using LE bluetooth.
My previous phone Huawei Nexus 6P had no problem finding the band in regukar BT settings search, and connecting to it, which is a pre-requisite for Smart Unlock.
Any ideas, what I can try, or someone with Mate 9 and Mi Band 2 that has successfully enabled Smart Unlock? I tried the usual resets, clearing cache (BT), enable/disable BT, reinstalling apps etc...
I have the same problem.
There is an alternative, Maybe this works https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/6093922?hl=en
My device: Mate 9 supersu B190 Mediapad X2 GEM 701->703 B212 KangVIP (AJ mod)
@audioralf: thanks for that but still, the result is the same: phone doesnt find the band under bt settings

I use a garmin smartwatch and it requires a special app to initiate the correct bt connection. Then it requires 5 number code to connect. Can you set the band visible manually?
It's not like that with this band. I can say how it was on previous phone, Huawei Nexus 6P: band was visible normally under bt settings, and could be paired/connected easily - no PIN or anything required. After that, it was available in Smart Unlock and worked great. But now on Mate 9, while the band is connected to phone via BT, it's not done in the regular BT settings but over an app that works with this band. In my case this is te Mi Band Master app, but there are other apps for this band - Mi Fit, Notify & Fitness, Mi Band Tools etc... The problem is that band is not visible under regular phone BT settings. Mate 9 doesn't find it. You can set the band "visible to other devices" on/off via the app, I tried both but no difference. Maybe default BT settings on Mate 9 only search "regular" BT devices, and not BT LE (low energy) devices?
WOW I just solved this issue! Updating first post with my solution!!
Thanks mate, your solution works!
Now another nag: if I lock the phone with Nova action it asks the PIN to unlock, even if the band is connected. This happens only with Nova lock, while using the power button make the unlock work seamlessly.
Any advice on how to quickly lock the device without having to input PIN to unlock?
Edit: nevermind, found a solution already. In Nova settings set the double-tap action to Activity > Screen lock.
Hi, anyone can advice how to pair mate10 pro with mi band 2? I can pair it, just for incoming call notification, it was not shown in my mi band. How to resolve it? Anyone know?
Hello, got a brand new Redmi Note 6 Pro and it doesn't matter how I connect to the internet via WIFI (DHCP or STATIC) the phone keep loosing the WIFI connection if I open two or more apps at the same time - multimedia apps that load images, or videos for example Youtube + Netflix. Or if WhatsApp runs in background and I open VLC the WIFI disconnects automatically. At this point I don't know what to think if is a hardware issue (bad RAM?) or a software / firmware issue, any ideas? Running the latest MIUI (10.0.4.0).
Update: I just realized that the WIFI stops working on my Redmi Note 6 Pro only when I have a Sony Bravia Smart TV on!! If I turn off the TV the phone works fine, no more disconnects. So what can I do apart turning off my tv? Obviously there's some sort of conflict with the Bravia Smart TV connecting to the same router (a 300M Wireless N Gigabit Router Model No. TL-WR1043ND).
This is really strange. I have the same router (running DD-WRT) and a Sony smart TV. And my Redmi Note 6 also loses WiFi... no solution found until now.
Hello,
I use a Redmi 4X as 4G modem connected via USB tethering to a FRITZ!Box 4040.
It works very well but every day since midnight the devices that use this connection can't browse. What I see is that the connection indicated on the status bar of the Redmi goes from 4G to H+. The only way I found to allow the devices to browse again is to reboot the Redmi or to turn its aeroplane mode on and off.
Is there an option to turn off this behaviour?
MIUI Verion 9.6.2.0
Android version 7.1.2
Thanks in advance,

Hi, everyone!
I bought a Sonos Roam. Normally, you should be able to get the Sonos Roam out of standby mode by opening the app. I can also do this on a laptop, on a Samsung smartphone - but I can't do it on the Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro. Bluetooth AND GPS must be switched on in parallel for it to work. Although only WLAN should be required for this (as on Laptop & Samsung Smartphone). Are there any settings that I don't know that cut the WLAN and are canceled when Bluetooth / GPS is activated ???
I tried every setting i could find and cant get it to work...
Many Thanks
Hello. I'm switching from an iPhone, on which I was able to share my 5G mobile connection to my laptop at 5ghz, which gave me 350mbps, however my new Pixel 7 pro is only offering 2.4ghz band, despite disabling "extend compatibility", I've read that this "feature" is new since Android 13.
How can I "fix" this "feature"? The hotspot is my only way to get internet, and 90mbps is not good.
Thanks
5G for Hotspot works just fine on T-Mobile. Connects to my Laptop and have highs in 270-290 Mbps in house on the 5Ghz band. Im using a Macbook Pro.
make sure "ensure maximum compatibility" is turned off on the hotspot settings (thought there was a different way to do this before)
i never had "maximun compatibility" enabled, i also tried disabling 2.4ghz on my laptop device manager, but then the phone doesn't show on the wifi list, how can i fix this?

maybe the laptop only support 2.4ghz to android phones might need to update the drivers or firmware for your laptop wifi to support 5G with pixel 7
with my iphone 13 i get 5ghz hotspot (and my computer gets 350mbps from 5G)

Hi, hotspots on pixels work "smart". The hotspot is 5GHz, but as you move your phone further away from the connected device, it drops to 2.4GHz.... so try sticking your phone next to the computer/laptop, then turn on the hotspot. Should be 5GHz.
thanks for the advice @iplux , but i keep the phone a few milimeters from my computer all the time, so that's not the issue
