Hey,
I am running the CPH2025_11_A.18 firmware. I noticed that the screen rotation is very unreliable in basically every app I've been using ( Youtube, Chrome, Google Photos etc.). So I checked the sensors with multiple Apps
and noticed that my phone thinks its drifting towards the left (X-Axis) when laying flat on the ground. Factory resetting my the phone and using the Google Maps calibration feature didnt't work. Before returning my phone I want
to make sure its not something software/firmware related. Could you guys comment on your auto-rotation experience and the sensors (f.e. using the in-built spirit-level App).
In this positon my phone thinks its laying flat on the ground:

My phone doesn't have this problem. It's rotating just fine. My Firmware version is CPH2025_11_A.14
I think you should return the phone to your seller for service.
Good luck,

Hello guys! This is something that took me a certain time so I'd like to share it to make it worth...
I was having some problems with my new Nexus 5 (D821):
- Screen never turned off during calls;
- Touch screen active during calls.
So the phone was hotter than it should be during the calls and after the calls I always discovered my ear had activated a lot of things on the touch…
Then, I was questioning myself if this would be a problem cause by software or hardware. As a microcontroller addicted, I know how trick it is to distinguish between a firmware and a hardware problem... and started to investigate the problem with a few steps:
1) Used some apps to grab the proximity sensor value (like this play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmail.macromax.vdo.sensors)
- The value was stuck in 5.00000cm;
2) Tried different ROMs and kernels with the same result;
3) Downloaded the Nexus 5 Service Manual;
4) Downloaded the sensor (Avago APDS-9930) datasheet.
So based on the new information, I have made a little experiment to make sure the problem was the hardware:
I started the app to monitor the sensor and used my TV remote control to emit the IR pulses, as I assumed the sensor had a problem with the IR emitter. Than the app started to show some measurements… confirming the sensor was the problem (more specifically the emitter).
So, I disassembled the phone getting access to the sensor and this is what I got:

The sensor was carbonized!!! There is no IR emitter anymore!!!
This is the shot from the original sensor:
It seems like the assembly production process of the phone has reached a too high temperature or has caused a mechanical damage!
Moreover, this is the biggest problem; my phone would not be the only one to have been damaged!
Hope this can help saving someone else time…:laugh:
Hi,
I experiencing problems with my gps, as it seems to not be working. Don't think it has ever actually has been working, that all my positions where retrieved trough network.
Tried the following:
- upgraded to latest OS(4.4.3),
- updated all my apps
- tested in safe mode
- reset to factory defaults.
And it still doesn't retrieve any position, which makes me concerned it is hardware related. Attached a screenshot from my gps app and version of my nexus 5 Location is set to: High Acuracy
Anyone have any tips??

I had a similar issue with my Nexus 5. No amount of rebooting/reinstalling was helping, until I realised one corner of my phone was pried open, probably when I dropped it the day before. I pushed it back in, and all of a sugged GPS is back to normal.
So I'm afraid your problem sounds like a hardware issue. Did you drop it recently?

Hi. My experience with the OnePlus service was not so good. When I got the phone I had a black spot on the back camera. Contacted the warranty support with no success. They replied after more than a month!!! (after I already disassembled the phone) suggesting to restore the CM11S... Anyways. The black spot is gone now. I don't know what I did, it just disappeared (not right after I disassembled it).
The problem is that my proximity sensor stopped working. I think I touched something when took off the back panel. Tried different programs and It showed that the phone doesn't have a proximity sensor. Today I took off the back panel again and it reappeared but it is not responding. Maybe I need to calibrate it?
The light sensor also stopped working as you see from the SS.
I tried this 2 apps:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.incredicontrol.ProxSensorCalibrator&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vrognaas.proximityfix
The first one starts and the screen goes blank. The second does nothing at all. It says that SuperSu granted root acces or something like that but it doesn't show anything.
I am attaching some screens of sensor testing apps. Maybe someone had the same problem and managed to fix it. Thanks
I am on CM12-20141229-UNOFFICIAL-bacon by the way
And yes, I tried restoring to the official cm-11.0-XNPH44S-bacon-signed-fastboot, I had the same problem..

I'm having this exact problem and I downloaded those same two apps, with no success...

My OnePlus One lost the red color on screen. The red became to brown!
Android ver 5.1.1 - kernel ver.3.4.67 Cyanogen OS ver. 12.1.1
What should I do to get back the red color?
Hello All,
On both my wife's and my Tmobile S7s running 6.01 on the November security patch, the location services are terrible. The phone keeps thinking I am at my house when I am 20 miles away at work. My wife has the same problem. If I toggle location services off then on, it instantly updates to the correct location. Eventually if defaults back to my house. This wouldn't be such a huge deal if I didn't have a SmartThings home automation system. SmartThings keeps unlocking my front door, turning on lights, and putting the heat back on because according to the phone I am at my house and the automation kicks in. Here is what I have done to try to fix the location issue:
- Location on with method = GPS, Wi-Fi, and mobile networks.
- Improved accuracy on with Wi-Fi scanning and Bluetooth Scanning enabled.
- Under Optimize Battery usage, I have unoptimized Location Services (meaning it should always be running).
Does anyone else have this problem with their S7s? If it were jsut mine, I would chalk it up to a faulty device, but it is happening to my wifes as well. Any other tricks to make this stop happening?
Check your apps to make sure the location permission hasn't been unchecked. Exactly which app could be missing that is hard to say. A factory reset might be your friend for this kind of situation.

Can anyone help me fix the built in camera app. I stupidly installed the latest Samsung camera app from apk mirror and now it doesn't open.
Thanks

Edit: Fixed by reflashing the ROM I'm using.
Restore the device to factory settings and your done!
Before that make back up anything you need!
Hi all - need answer from older members, googled a bit before no information regardless to my question what i want to know is it problem or not. Is it due f1.9 apertature or no ? Changing 4.3 - 16:9 modes , nothing changes, same effect. I can see it only in close range - 30cm range, like in these photos. Model is international unlocked, 920 android 7 BTU feb22 . Found this only now, by doing macro shots on the table ( have phone for 5 months, under warranty - thats why wanna to hear answers is it a problem, give them to fix it or no, its ok )
I'm receiving this "fish eye effect's" , very small amount of it, near corners - I marked RED or Black color with a line the real position of object in real life and what I get wia phone when I take a picture in 16mp mode or any other mode.
