ACR Calls gone missing but open App shows more than in folder. - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hi all,
Sorry for the long post but I'm posting this on behalf of a friend who sent this email to ACR or NLL APPS but have not heard back from them so wonder if anybody out there can take the time to read this and possible sound off what the issue can be?
It states:
I am a long time ACR fan and have been using the app for years.
I have a question which I pray that you can assist with or point me in the right direction to where or how I may be able to find calls that have gone missing.
Here is the brief example of what has happened.
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S7 with 32GB
ACR: running ACR from years ago and google play always updating to ACR32.8 or 4
I had left all my calls in the ACRCalls folder and throughout all the updates, when starting ACR I could see the Wheel which was doing a Tally count as there were 5,480 something calls and the wheel indexing would take approx 30+ seconds to fully index or put the tally of calls there.
It would take quite some time to scroll down to earlier calls as the scroll bar was really small.
I could play any file after scrolling to it which confirmed to me the files where all there.
As know Google done their policy and I had a huge amount of Unknown Caller in my list.
A friend told me if I upgraded to ACR 33.1 samsung-unChained which was downloaded from the Samsung Galaxy Store.
But first on a friend who has the same phone tried uninstalling his Google play store ACR and then installed the ACR 33.1 unChained and the same folder of Calls remained and were detected and all played, although he only has a few hundred calls unlike my 5,480 calls.
Now to the Point or ISSUE that I have.
So before Uninstalling the play store version I go to my Phones storage and I look the directory and it only shows 1870 files inside, but this seems Odd because I open ACR and it indexes the 5,480 which I could access all of them.
That seems most odd so I uninstalled the PlayStore version and installed the Galaxy Store version of ACR 33.1-samsung-unChained version.
This now works for reading and logging Address book contacts or numbers.
Yet the issue is now the Index Wheel when opening only shows the 1,870 files and the scroll bar is much bigger, so its like there are a few Thousand calls missings.
As my S7 phone storage was nearly all full, I moved near 3GB of Video and Photos from the DCIM directory and this took the storage of that drive down to 28GB used/ of 32GB
My 3 questions of urgency are:
1) Why would the S7 earlier show indexed 5,480 files earlier compared to upgrading?
2.)As moving other data off the drive, the phone shows data that these files might still be on the Phones drive but just not in the ACRCalls folder. Would these files be located in a different directory or older directory or cache somewhere on the S7's phone drive? If so Where?
3.) Is there a way to recover these files? and what program would be the best app or pc program to possible do this?
Can someone out there Please assist me or point me in the right direction as this is very Urgent for me as I am extremely confused to how the indexing can originally show 5,480 calls and then after upgrading only show the 1,870 calls both by indexing and by viewing the folder content outside showing the calls which is all very odd.
Any ideas, answers or solutions would be highly appreciated from my mate.
Cheers!

[REQUEST] MP3 Quality/Bitrate Modifier

Okay. Allow me to elaborate on what exactly it is I am asking. And before anyone says, "make it yourself", let me just say "been there, read that".
Now, I've had conversations with many Android users who have large music collections and have purchased devices that have dropped SD Card support. Yes, I do have a Meenova, but I also have a Nexus 5 and the battery life goes pretty quickly when I'm listening to music in the car. Data packages aren't cheap. Even if you have a Straight Talk Unlimited Plan (like myself), you aren't actually receiving unlimited data.
I am simply asking that someone create a tool to alter the bitrate of the tracks on my Android Device. I'd pay for an app like that. There are a couple of apps on the Play Store that perform this task, but they are lacking in features. There is no batch editing tool and conversions stop after closing out the apps that I have tried. I could use the program on my computer, but then I have to leave my device at the computer in order to copy converted tracks back over to my device.
Anyway, I'd appreciate it if someone took the time to read this post.

[Q] Music and custom Ringtones/Alarm are not showing anymore

Howdy,
I'm sorry to bother, but after searching with many different combinations of words on Google I did not find anything, and posting on Nexus 5 subreddit did not offer me any answer :/ That's why I try here
So basically, for no reason (no update, no restart of the device), my Nexus 5 does not show my music in Google Play Music, and my Ringtones/Alarms/Notifications that I customized do not work too (and they do no show in the list when I try to apply parameters).
No file has disappeared:
- Music is in Nexus5 > Internatl Storage > Music
- The rest of the stuff is still in Nexus 5 > Internal Storage > Ringtones, or Alarms.
Everything is here right at its place. But nothing works as before. I tried to restart the device, but no. I tried to empy cache/clear data/force stop of Google Play Music, but no. I did the same with the Media Storage app, and it did not wrok too. I got all the files out and back with other names, but no. I'm clueless.
Moreover, since I forced stop of Google Music and relaunched it, now my library is polluted my dozens of songs and albums that I suppose are automatically put here as a "try it" thing, but I don't want them appearing at all, even more in my small library (okay, right now, nothing would appear I know).
Would you be so kind to help me in this matter? I would greatly appreciate it.
Best regards,
Hmm new piece of information!
I did not realized earlier, for my custom wallpaper stayed the same, however when I tried to put a new one, if was impossible for me to wander in the different folders I once created to put pictures (using the USB cable and all). So the custom wallpaper stayed probably because it was in cache or something. But technically, it seems like in addition to the music and ringtones it's impossible to access other media folders...
I took half an hour to explore parameters and apps without finding the needle I was looking for :/

GC and CC logs of Mozilla (Firefox ? ) consuming huge amount of space

I have previously posted this question in the Samsung S7 Edge section here http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/gc-cc-logs-mozilla-consuming-huge-space-t3397783 but didn't get any response. It is possible that the topic didn't get any attention as it is in the wrong section and I also feared that my problem could be due to malware and some other security bugs.
My problem started when I was suddenly told that my S7 is running out space without any new huge apps being installed. I tracked down the sudden lose of storage space to a folder named "memory-reports" inside the default Download folder. The folder content comprise multiple logfiles with each file sizes averaging 30mbs, and the number of files gradually increase and eventually hogging over 3gigs of storage space. I deleted the entire folder with the logfiles but the folder appeared again with similar logfiles.
after Googling around, I found the description of the logfiles here https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/...GC_and_CC_logs. it seem to relate to Mozilla Firefox and I doubt this problem is specific to Samsung S7 Edge although this is the phone I am using now and the problem only occurred to me for the first time recently. couldn't find any mention of similar issue anywhere else via Google, but maybe some of you guys are better at digging them up. Seeking some comments, suggestions as to what cause, possible solutions...
NOTE: My phone is NOT rooted. the logfiles are still being generated periodically and have to be deleted to recover the space. deleting them don;t seem to affect the operation of any apps and especially FIREFOX, which is the only connection I can find with mention of those logfiles name with MOZILLA. The problem seem unique to me at the moment as I still couldn't find any reference on Google to them. Any head-up suggestion on possible reason and ways to track down exactly which apps, background process are generating the log files are certainly welcomed.
I am experiencing the same issue on my Motorola Nexus 6.
Thanks for this. I was facing the same problem. I just deleted the files. It didn't seem to hurt firefox. ]

ACR Call recorder was recording me for 49 hours!

So, was cleaning up my current phone to move to a new one, was going through my recorded phone calls files, and i noticed several huge files. as big as 650MB and 49 hours long!!
I use the ACR Unchained (Another Call Recorder) and my phone is not rooted (N975F), and to have it record anything i had to give the app so many permissions! Also cloud backup was on so I can't say for sure from the wifi/mobile data usage were the files synced to my cloud and/or to the developer..
This is creepy AF!
What are my options now? or rather what would you do in this situation?
I emailed the dev and awaiting the reply. I don't want to jump to conclusions just yet, it might be a simple bug, but there are also so many privacy infringing apps out there.
Pic shows the files in windows explorer, (i covered the dialed phone numbers in the file name in red)
Not sure why you load that kind of app to begin with. I'd uninstall it immediately.

Are you running the stable Android 13 or the QPR beta ? The latter solved many of the mentionned bugs.

Oww, Im running the stable 13. Got the device a week ago! Just enrolled into the beta program. Will try and see. Thanks
You need to create a folder outside of DCIM for them to show as individual folders in the gallery.

Oh yeah thought of that too! But I got like 20 folders lol, I know I wont often look at the "Files" but yeah something to try. Also there is a folder called PICTURES and my folders were there before and I moved them to DCIM because when I am trying to share something to Instagram I cant see those folders on the IG app. That was the main reason behind the idea to move these folders into DCIM.
But I will try and move these folders outside of DCIM (but wont put them inside Pictures folder). Thanks mate!

Aah its still the same! Anyway I just moved everything back to Pictures folder anyway. Also I am on the latest Beta build and still got these errors related to editing a video (rotating and saving a video errors out) and Gallery loading etc. Sometimes the thumbnails wont even show up

It's not present in my case - (QPR 3.1 November). My it's the issue with mixed pictures from your own reposity and Google Photos / taken pictures by 7Pro?
Edited a video of 39 secs (90mb) to 14 secs (108mb) - WTF?? I took a video with P7P which was 39 seconds and the size was 90MB. Then I edited the video cut it to 14 seconds and now the size of the video shows up as 108MB
No idea - maybe it's trying to save in better quality that it already is?
Sometimes the double tap to wake doesn’t work
Got similar problem - especially when Face Unlock with option to skip lockscreen is enabled.
Video - zoom switching is laggy [This is known issue across the OEM]
Still present in 3.1 in my case
Call quality is weird and screwed up for half of the calls I am making
Can't complain. Mine are loud and clear - even with loud speaker.
Battery is not that great (How to check SOT?)
It's been good for me - 8,5 hrs SOT with approx. 35-40 hrs of standby. Both on stable 13 and QPR (2, 3 and now on 3,1 looks similar)
Inability to organise apps into folders in the Apps screen. OR to sort them etc: I miss this on Samsung devices etc, cant even sort them.....WHYYY?
I don't use folders, but agree - pixel launcher is ****ty as f*ck. I use Nova Launcher most of the time - folders do work there.
Sometimes when I press TALK button on my Subaru and ask “Call a person” it doesn’t work - Android auto is really finicky
No opinion.

Why not backed up in Google Photos cloud? It works great for me - sync between devices, web etc.
after the last update (today 8november) i noticed something that could be a new bug (i hope): in the stock camera app i use the level to measure the tilt. it worked great but after the update that level is tilted about 3-4°: i.e. i was taking a photo of the horizon on the sea (leveled through the grid) and the level measure 3 or 4° of tilt
I probably have nowhere near the amount of photos as you, and based on what I read, I'm guessing they're local photos, but the gallery thing could be solved by just getting a new gallery app rather than Photos. QuickPic was the go-to back in the day before they sold to another company. When that happened, I found Piktures to be a fast and pretty alternative. There might've also been a modded QuickPic app on XDA. Not sure on that since I just use Photos.
Battery and call quality, I can't complain. Battery is all dependent on the user, so there's always that.
Sometimes the double tap to wake doesn’t work
Now this here works flawlessly with out a case, but I found it easier to double tap near the camera bar. It seems to activate more when it's up higher.

Thanks for the reply mate
Yeah My gallery consists of photos taken by Samsung, Apple and this phone too. Even in the beta its all pixellated.
Also I found another issue with IG app when I am trying to upload videos to my feed. Selecting multiple photos option and selecting pictures works fine, but videos wont get selected. These videos are taken through the phone too. Support team says to update the app but still the same. Cleared cache, re-installed and done everything, but still the same.

Yeah I am thinking to root the phone soon. But a little bit worried about all these cyber attacks happening in Australia now. But Ill try the 3rd party apps, obvio I prefer if the native app has that option but cant do anything now
The slide to type on Gboard is not working instantaneously when typing messages from notifications (such as whatsapp).
