Like it says, I broke the screen (crushed in the frameworks of my recliner) but it is still powered up. I press the power button, and I can feel it twitch, but it never shuts off. Is there any multi-button way to power down? Not only can I not see my screen, but I think the touch is bad as well. I could not get it to answer the call when I called if from a land line.
I've pulled the SIM, so that all my calls go to vmail.
Good news- I got it to shut off. The only way to tell is to connect it to my PC and see if it enumerates in the device manager. It does not show up under adb or fastboot, so I must have deleted all those keys with the last OOS update.
If I just hold down the power button for about 30 seconds, it eventually gives one big twitch indicating that it is shutting down. After that, it does not enum in device manager any more, although the charging LED is still operational.
More good news- I have a new 7 Pro on the way as a replacement. Looking forward to that.

So I've had my fuze a little over a year now, no major issues. Used mostly energyroms, but about December time I switched back to a simple non-bloated stock rom for the stability.
Anyway today at work I was texting, and I press the power button to put the phone in standby. And the screen remains on and usable. I tried again and it would not go into standby (power button physically feels normal, it does not feel loose or abnormal.) So i let it sit for a few minutes, then i look at it and a message poped up asking if i wanted to turn the phone off (like as if i was holding the power button)so i press no, then it comes up again a few seconds later and aagain and again. So I soft reset the phone.
The phone resets but takes a LOT longer at the att/htc splashscreen, then it hangs at the htc screen and does not make it to the wimo screen, but instead an error screen saying:
"The device is unable to boot because you have either turned off the device incorrectly or tried to install an applicationa from an untrusted source, press SEND to reset your device or press any other button to cancel..."
I think it went through the hard reset this time because when it restarted it asked to calibrate the screen and install stuff. it resets again sometime after that, still takes forever at the splash screen and comes back up to the error, only this time no matter what button i press it wont go away and boot into wimo. It seems like none of my buttons work (they wont light up now) when i slide out the keyboard, it is not lit up like normally.
And heres the kicker, my only way to turn on/off the phone is to take out/put in the battery. As soon as I pop the battery back in the fuze turns on. Is my phone toast? Ive tried to hard reset and the phone does not reach the bootloader, it goes straight to the splash screen. Same with trying to reflash it from my comp, raphealwrapper cannot find my phone.
I've only recently encountered the exact same problem on my Touch Pro, but stock ROM and everything. As far as I can tell, our power buttons are busted and probably need to be serviced. One of the contacts must be stuck in the 'on' position somewhere inside :\ As a temporary fix, I've been using AEButton Plus and remapped double tap end call key to turn the screen off, and removing the stylus to turn it on.
My transformer has been my right hand since June and all of the sudden I'm without it. Was listening to a podcast via beyondpod this morning and paused the audio via my BT headset. Went to a meeting, then lunch. Came back two hours later and my tablet wouldn't turn on. I figured it was a sleep of death that randomly occurs so I held the power button in for 30 seconds or so to reboot, but that didn't work. It was still on because I could hear audio notifications for calendar appointments.
Tried the power button for 60-90 seconds, still nothing on screen. In the past I've been able to plug in the charger when this occurred and it would pop the screen on, tried that, but got no results.
I tried plugging it into my laptop to see if I could get ADB active and do a reboot. Windows saw the device and loaded the ADB driver, but if I tried adb devices it showed no devices. I long pressed the power button again and the windows device manager reset, adb devices now showed the transformer, but in offline mode. I couldn't run any commands.
Next I tried the "soft reset" utilizing the volume up and power button. This didn't do anything, except that the next time I attached it to my laptop it prompted me for an APX driver. I didn't know at the time this was for NVFlash (I rooted my device before the SBK was out with the initial blob tools from androidroot.mobi).
Now when I hook up my transformer I get no response from my computer and no response from the buttons on my tablet.
I'm at a loss and would love any suggestions or ideas to get my tablet back up and running.
This is resolved, I was finally able to get it rebooted via the volume down button and power while hooked to my laptop. I have no clue what was going on with it, but its still acting hinky.
Do we have any hardware diagnostics?
my tablet just started doing the same thing. O_O asus is trying to get us to buy their new slates, so they broke our current ones. /s
Something is seriously wonky here. My wifi keeps turning shutting down but being stuck at turning off. My power button is very inconsistent.
I think I'm going to fully wipe the system and start from scratch...
Been a couple months, but I'm back in the frozen state again. I charged my TF101 over night, pulled it off the charger and validated it was in a SOD. I put it in my sleeve and headed to the office. I turned on my BT headset to listen to a Podcast, but it didn't connect. I grabbed the tablet and it was screen on, frozen at 7:29am.
I can't for the life of me get this thing to reboot. I've held the power button in for 60 seconds, tried power button with volume down to boot recovery. I tried on AC power and off. I tried to hook to my PC, but the USB is not recognized at all.
I don't know if I just need to let this thing die (which will take forever) or what to do to get this rebooted.
Power button feels like it is catching when I press it in...
If you take off the outer bezel (be mindful of your micro sd card if you have one) you can push the actual power button itself. It should be a simple hold the button down for about 3-5 seconds and it'll reboot.
So I had something interesting happen this morning. I was listening to a podcast app through Bluetooth. I wanted to pause, so I flipped open my case, the screen turned on, and when I pressed the home button (oops I meant to just rest my finger on it. Still getting used to that) my phone...turned off.
Despite the title, I would say it didn't power off. It was like pulling the battery. Screen just turned off and I couldn't get it back on. Pressing and holding the power button didn't do anything. I was unable to do anything until I plugged my phone in. Then the battery charging indicator came on the screen. It was at 93%. I unplugged, and then when I held the power button it booted right up.
I have no idea why it did this. I doubt it was an app issue, since I couldn't get the phone to power up. Anyone else had something like this happen? Other than this I've had zero issues with the phone. I've left it at stock, unrooted.

Did the same problem occurred again?
Nope. Just tried to repeat it, and no issue
So, phone was working great for a while. After the Camera 2.0 was working with xposed, I decided to flash xposed. Right after installing it, it started randomly rebooting, a lot. Like, whenever anything intensive was happening. About couple days later, I decided it wasn't worth it anymore and I ran the xposed uninstaller and cleared the caches.
It booted up okay. The launcher was pretty sluggish though. I opened up an app and I just got a black screen. Nav buttons were still there along with the status bar. Nav buttons were non responsive. Status bar could be pulled down though. I clicked settings, just to do something. Settings also didn't open. I hit the power button to do a restart, and selected restart. It just hung there for a couple of minutes. I forced a shutdown with Vol Up + Power. It did the three short vibrates and powered down.
Now, it won't power back up. Literally non responsive. It doesn't get to the Sony logo, it doesn't vibrate, screen doesn't turn on, and no LED status light comes on. I plug it into the charger, and no status light comes on. I tried Vol Up + Power again, and still nothing. I can't get it into fastboot or flash mode, or have it give any indication that it is alive. I tried pressing and holding the power off button by the SIM tray and get absolutely nothing.
Any ideas?

At least try plugging it in to your computer, see if it gets recognized

Ah, forgot to mention that. I'm on an osx box right now, but I'm seeing no indication of anything.

Have you held the power button for an extremely long time, like 15 seconds or so?

I'm not an expert in this area but I'd try to get to a windows computer and see if you can get the Sony software to recognize it. Might be able to reflash or repair

FOR ME, XPOSED ALWAYS DAMAGED SONY STOCKROM BEYOND REPAIR SO I ALWAYS HAD TO REFLASH,
but with you it seems extreme
1. holdin power and volume up button for 15 seconds should jerk device thrice and you device will go in to shutdown mode. try connecting to flashmode now
2. if (1) isn't working then old sony ion trick might do the magic, rubber band your z5 across screen horizontaly in a way that volume DOWN BUTTON is pressed for atleast 8+ hourse (over night) , this will DRAIN your battery fast and let motherboard clear the code. then put it to wall charger for over night! after 1+ day it should start giving you RED led / blink which means battery is extremely low. later you will get constant red led and finally you will come to stage where no led will be present. AT this point unplug and try connecting you device to FLASHMODE
3. Also remove sim tray during this process and next to SIM tray there is RESET button (musshy black or yellow soft button) , should be pressed with some soft pointy material ( see attached foto of my z5p)
Was watching youtube videos last night before my phone died, now I can't get it to start boot into the OS. Not sure if this is relevant but my power button had been a little finnicky- rather maybe not the power button itself because it doesn't feel stuck or anything at all but I noticed that it would take an extra second or two after pressing the power button to get into my lock screen. I never really paid attention because it only happened once in a while and I would just restart my phone and be done with it. However I can't even get into the lock screen or anything now.
After my phone died last night I plugged it in right away and came back a while later to turn it on. I tried turning it on but noticed my phone just kept rebooting. It's still repeatedly rebooting and I can only get in the fastboot menu by holding down both volume buttons when rebooting. I get the options power off- which just reboots it after a while, start - which just reboots the phone, restart boot loader- which literally takes me back to the same menu, recovery mode- just reboots and show barcode which shows the barcode at the bottom of the menu.
I've tried downloading the qualcomm driver and trying to get into EDL mode but don't see it on my pc or msmtool, i'm also not even sure if i'm trying to get into EDL mode correctly. I've tried disable Driver signature Enforcement and then redownloading the qualcomm driver but still no luck. I don't know what else I should try. Someone please help me out, i'm pissed this happened just because my phone died, about to have ptsd whenever my phone is at 5% fml.
Also after seeing the 1+ logo and powered by android on the bottom, sometimes I would see like a line of color, which I would assume is text not being rendered all the way, fade out and then the phone shuts down and reboots itself.

Which OOS build are you on? And your device is unlocked or not?
Getting into EDL mode is tricky. Power off device completely. With the device powered off, hold down volume up and volume up at the same time, keep them pressed all the time, and during that time plug into PC (phone all the time powered off). Still hold both of the buttons. By the time you plug into PC, you should be in EDL mode, BUT it only lasts about 10 seconds. I mean you have to click start in this 10 seconds time bracket, other way phone exits EDL itself. After you click start, you can release button, obviously
