I'm really starting to consider this tablet, but in my courses, I need heavy math usage, and would like to know a few things:
First of all, I have the "engineer's handwriting," meaning my handwriting is very clear (on paper at least, haha)
Assuming this, how well is the recognition for more complicated math formulas?
Can it do matrices? Can it recognize hats/vectors or other accents of a variable?
Also, when you "save" it onto the note pad, does it:
-act like an image
-act like actual text on the document
-or both?
Likewise, how would you rate the customization of how the formula is represented, if any.
Lastly, can it be set so that the equation is recognized and formatted into LaTex notation?
I've taken some looks on YouTube, but I only find integrals, sums, and that sort, and not much of higher level stuffs.
If there are any math students here, how would you rate the use of this tablet for math notes?
Thanks!

Post a sample of your notes and I'll try it out later tonight
You're probably not looking for this, but I take notes using LectureNotes. It basically saves it as an image, so no need for handwriting recognition and whatnot.
But here is a not-great, not-bad part of my notes:
http://imgur.com/a/I1Kur
It's normally saved in .png files in LectureNotes which you can then turn into PDFs, but I rather not upload my whole notebook so I only select what could be termed the most average parts of my notes. My notes look better now, now that I've learned a little more about how to use the app (there's a LOT you can customize), but this is how you can expect it to look when it's not great but not bad.
If you can replicate this, then I can assume it works well with the more complicated things.
Also, by image I mean an image within text. I prefer that it is represented as in text and not a whole page as an image.

The formula recognition is mainly just for light work, I just use lecture notes and it's perfect, Easy to erase mistakes, copy and paste, move formulas and equations around, drawing shapes and stuff with multiple layers and what not. Snotes sucks for engineering/ math notes, but lecture notes is amazing. Import and export pdf's and cut out parts of books and paste into a note
Excuse my bad handwriting but this is done on the note with snote also the notebooks save as text you can grab an image from the text but you can also easily modify whatever you write on it

Looks good. But I meant formula match. Lol. Thanks though.
Honestly, if it can do matrices, then I think it can do almost anything. I read that matrices is the hardest to recognize into latex by recognition.

I did what I could I am still getting used to it myself
I love taking notes on the Note 10.1. I mainly use the shape and normal handwriting mode for my notes. i use shapes for tables and graphs, otherwise I use the handwriting mode. I don't like using the OCR or math modes because they are not easy to modify or undo.

I tried doing the notes you uploaded but it just can't do it for the stuff in the square brackets. It also got bogged down by the time I finished the first column.
edit: also failed to recognize teh Q R C type symbols.
Finally: Keep in mind that I'm on an older version of S Note (Android 4.0.4 build XWALG4) so I don't know if it has improved with newer versions of 4.0.4 like XWALI4 or jelly bean.
This is my attempt, did the brackets and stuff fairly easily but don't know anything about these formulas so they may not be what was desired.
Thanks a lot for trying the sample. I'm sure it can do the doubleR/Q/C but wasn't absolutely sure about matrices (the elements in the bracket). If it can't, that's a bit unfortunate because linear and abstract algebras need matrices quite a lot. Nonetheless, I'm pretty impressed but I will wait after next semester until I decide on a tablet. Again, thanks for your input. =)

You're missing half of the matrix, I tried for around 5-6 minutes to get all four quadrants of the matrix but I couldn't.
Hi all. This app provides a rare way to learn words. That is, this app makes it possible to learn while still having fun at the same time. These words by no means are easy; most of them come from tests like the SAT, so if you're up for a challenge, check it out.
Choose from two game modes: survival and classic. In survival mode, you have a certain number of lives; categorize words correctly to avoid losing them. In classic mode, you must race against the clock to build up a large score. Of these two modes, you can choose from two games:
- Synonym Farmer:
Group words that are synonymous to the two words at the bottom. Easy, fun way to quickly build up a large word-base.
- Synonym Protector (Available only in the full version):
Guide the rocket with your finger to destroy all the words that are synonymous to the word at the bottom of the screen. The higher your accuracy, the more likely you are to earn streak points, which can send your score to stratospheric heights.
If you prefer to study vocabulary the long way, this app has a built in vocabulary list with over 500 words and their definitions. This list also has advanced search functionality, along with text-to-speech capabilities.
Search "SAT Word Attack" on Google Play to find this app.

Hello and good day!
I would like to use this forum to show you my application for android and i would be very happy to get feedback and critic from you.
This is my first project and there is so much to learn – and different viewpoints are more than needed. English is not my first language so i hope that the following description is not too 'german-sounding'.
The name of my app is: x=1: Learn to solve equations! and you can find it directly at the google play store (i am not yet allowed to post links).
What is it about? (with a twinkle in one's eye)
Solving equations often causes difficulties, either in math class or later in life. At first glance they consist of cryptic characters, which are also subject to strict rules! It gets even worse: Every time we take a step to find the desired X - we have to note down the whole equation again!
But x=1 will save your day! Use it for fun, to learn or to refresh your knowledge - you can now try to find the hard to catch X without any paperwork at all! All you have to do is to connect two parts of the equation step by step - of course only if the mathematical principles allow it. Additionally, you are free to use the equal sign as you like, so you can move things from one side of the equation to the other.
In x=1 you'll be able to solve equations build with the basic arithmetic operations + -, *, /. To spice things up, the rules of bracketing are also included. 40 preset equations gradually teach you the mathematical principles - after that you'll be released into the huge world of equations to puzzle over an infinite number of randomly generated ones!
I am realy happy about your feedback and (honest- this is important) star-ratings in the Play-Store!
With mathematical regards
Daniel Gronau
First of all a big thanks to all who played, testet and contributed to x=1 with invaluable Feedback!
The first update x=1 Version 1.1 is now ready and features the first step of developement to honor your feedback.
What's new?
There are now an unlimited number of randomly generated equations! You can solve them as long as you like.
Improvements:
The calculation with fractions was simplified and you don't have to solve a big equation if you add two fractions with the same denominator or if you multiply it with 1 or 0!
With mathematical regards
Daniel Gronau
Mathematical regards!
Version 1.2 is available and improves the handling of divisions, brackes and signs. But first a big thanks to all who played x=1 and provided invaluable feedback! Thanks to you it can get more refined in every update.
Improvements:
If a bracket is expanded, the single element is now multiplied to the specific side of the participants inside the bracket. For example: (1+2)*5 -> 1*5+2*5 (to the right side) and 5*(1+2) -> 5*1+5*2 (to the left side).
Finally, no calculation will be done when adding 0 to a division.
Also a minus before a division won't be moved inside: 1-(1/2) will not turn to 1+(-1/2) but stay as 1-(1/2)!
Mathematical regards!
Version 1.3 is available and brings a new mathematical operation!
New features:
You can now reduce a division if it is simplified by the operation.
More detailed error messages added! This is only the first step. The next update will get you a detailed explanation of every mathematical operation or error.
It is now possible to use the back-button of your device to discard your last operation.
Improvements:
Some rare errors were addressed, concerning the size of some texts and the disappearance of the interaction arrow.

Thank you for posting the link! May i ask you if you tried my app? I would love to recieve feedback, this very important!
Daniel
Nice graphics and fonts! I spent so many time trying to find something like this.
Mathematical regards!
Version 1.4 has arrived and I poured my heart and soul into it, enjoy!
Improvements:
- New explanations for every action + an extended tutorial
- New design across the board (also for tablets)
- Improved the generation of the later equations
- Removed the need to sum 0 to it if you add an element to an empty side
- The biggest division-sign is now always in line with the equals-sign
Nice font and visual style! I really like stylization to blackboard.
Thank you very much! Feel free to tell me anything that can be improved!
Mathematical regards!
A small update (version 1.5) that hints strongly to the things to come!
Now you'll be able to scroll your equation around - which is very useful for large equations.
On the topic of large equations - maybe you'll be able to create one yourself in the next update?
Improvements:
- Every equation can now be scrolled around
- Performance improvements, especially for large equations
