I have an infuse that works great except for the fact that everytime I plug the usb into the phone it shuts off the phone. The phone is factory I have not altered it or anything. I have tried multiple cables and different ports on my laptop and desktop. The battery is stock like I said it only happens when you plug the usb cable up to the phone while the phone is in normal mode. It does not occur when in download mode or recovery. I just bought this off of ebay is this a simple fix or should I just send it back. Thanks in advance and be gentle this is my first post. If I posted in the wrong place my apologies.
Hi
I have been having this issue for sometime now. I connect my Nexus to my laptop using the USB cable, and most of the time the screen starts acting up. Touch calibration is all wrong. When i click something, the actual button that is clicked is totally a different one. And sometimes it activates stuff on its own.
I have tried several stuff I found on google. Some said it had something to do with my home electricity not being grounded. I checked. It is grounded. Tried everything from flashing new roms to freshly starting from stock! Nothing seems to work!
Its like this thing have a mind of its own
Hi, if you use stock wall adapter, it's working correctly? Usually that is some kind bad electricity problem or that device where you plugged it causes problems.
Check usb cable. If it's not happening on LG cable and LG wall charger than it's your usb to pc cable problem
PS check other usb port and cable
Hey everyone,
My Nexus 5 wont charge or even be recognised by a computer. I am, however, able to successfully charge it via the wireless charger though. I have replaced the usb flex, thinking this was the problem, but it still wont charge, and windows wont detect it.
When attached to the wireless charger, flashes red, until it has enough power, then starts up and boots directly in to fastboot mode with it automatically cycling through the options.
Any ideas why this would be? Is there a fuse on the main motherboard or something that could be affecting this?
Possible power button issue which would explain the phone automatically cycling through fastboot options?
Possibly damaged USB connector on motherboard?
I bought this new phone on Nov 6. This is how I bricked it....
Xperia 5 ii won't work with Type-A to Type-C cable at all and my computer just don't have a type-c port, so I tried OTG with USB disk. Although the disk was mounted, I couldn't find it in a third party explorer (ZArchiver/SolidExplorer), however the built-in explorer couldn't copy the file into the phone somehow, so I tried to reboot the phone, aaaaand it is bricked...... Push the power button for a looooong time, no response. Plug in the power cable, no response, LED not even lighten up.
well I guess OTG is a pretty dangerous feature since it mess up with voltage in the power module, and two of my previous phones died of power problems, namely Samsung S2 and Xiaomi Note.
Is there any way to confirm whether it is a dead brick before i go and return the phone?
Not the solution, but mine works fine with usb a to usb c cable connection to my computer. Had been using that for transferring old data into it.

oh I should change my description into "my Xperia 5 ii won't work with any of my A to C cables" lol, maybe they are too old to be compatible? no idea though
Have you tried pressing power button + volume buttons for 30 seconds?
Also OTG should only be able to charge another device, so you might be lucky and didn't fry your Sony phone.

!!!! long press power + volume really did work XD my phone vibrated 1x following 3x then I could power it up again ~~~
after looking up on Google i found that power + volume up would force shutdown the phone, which quite surprised me because i've been using android since 2012 and somehow never heard of this before. I know that long pressing power button would force reboot though, but it never came to my mind that there could be a way to force shutdown.
Thank you very much! That saved me a lot of time and saved me from a bad day lol

This is odd since my works with Type-A to Type-C cable. It's a short Sony cable which i received to charge my WF-1000XM3 earbuds.

I was online with Sony Support this morning because my Xperia 5 II had shut down, wouldn't power on, wouldn't charge. In my chat we the support guy he said you should not charge your phone from a laptop. After 12 hours of panic my phone showed a graphic for zero battery. I plugged my cable in and got the red LED light. Phone went on and fully charged. I have to idea what happened but don't try to charge with a Thunderbolt4 cable.

I had my Xperia 5 II for a year now. 70% of total charging was done using USB C to USB C cable from a laptop Thunderbolt port.
I have no idea why Sony has autistic support that scares users. I almost charged my Xperia from any USB socket I could find (be it either A or C) and it still runs like a charm.
Hey bros i've finally fixed my hardbricked rog 3 and i'm super happy. My phone got hardbricked like this.
i unlocked the bootloader and usb debugging, turned on FTP, i was about to root the phone, the phone is on 80% charge. I pluged in the usb c original cable on my phone side port first and then pluged into the pc type c port. but unluckily my hands was on the buttons, i don't know maybe all the buttons were pressed at once and at that time i plugged in the cable.
As soon as i plugged in the phone got all black. No turning on, no USB, no nothing. Didn't even recognized as a bulk or QS USB device. But whenever i pushed the both VOL button the indicator light would flash. So i at least knew it was not dead dead. Many days passed by just to search up the solution. I tried EDL cable, different cables, all kinds of tutorials. But nothing worked, because there was no USB connection.
But today i plugged in my phone and it suddenly showed the bootloader is on and file integrity can not be assured and ........................ those lines . I though what how what happened. so i charged up my phone for a little bit and i long press the power button and amazing it turned on , no bootloader no flush , it just turned on. Maybe i just got lucky , or maybe because i didn't flush any rom in the first place so the main rom remained.......... anyway i got my rog 3 back, ima go play some Call Of Duty ,,,,,,
