(Posting this here as I am not allowed to post on the dev forum. Not enough posts.)
I installed a speaker mod for another phone on my moto x play for stereo speakers and it works quite well. But obviously the top speaker is quiter than the bottom one. Can I edit the mixer paths XML file to even out the audio level a bit more?
Hi! Can you provide me the link of the mod you used?
Sorry for the late reply I am used to using reddit for everything. I got it from here forum xda-developers com/oneplus-6/themes/magisk-stereo-speaker-mod-oneplus-6-t3814512 i think. Replace the big spaces with dots I am not allowed to post urls for some reason.

Hey guys,
I just got my Captivate yesterday and today I discovered a very weird and annoying problem. Everyday at work I download a podcast from a radio talk-show. It works fine on my iPod and my old SE Xperia X10 but on my new Samsung something is going wrong. For some reason when the hosts are talking the quality of the sound in the right earbud is horrible you can barely understand them, but here comes the funny part, when they play music everything is fine there is non a difference between L and R. If anyone can explain what the heck is going one I would be glad do listen. I've tried a different media players and different headphones but no luck.
Here is the website with the podcasts:
cronica.primatv.ro/podcast/
(add the http part because I cannot post link - I'm a new user)
Probably you wont understand what are they talking about. But if somebody with another Samsung Captivate can do a test I would be glad to hear what the results are.
Can't help with that problem but I can with another.....it's spelled weird.
Oh...c'on man... English is my third language
Check the Effects in the settings for the default music player. Also, there is a 5.1 surround icon in the top left when playing music/audio. Tap that to disable 5.1
this might help
If the sound is fine on the left earbud with the podcast, my guess would be it has something to do with the one being a mono broadcast and the other being stereo.
does the podcast have multiple audio streams? There are a few that require you to select one or the other, otherwise you get both at the sametime. Depending on how the podcast is recorded, one audio stream may only go to the left or right channel, while the other is stereo.
Hey guys, thx all for the input. I played around with the setting and still no luck. About the mp3 file, I opened it in a wave editor and is absolutely fine both channels are fine. The file is stereo @ 96kbps. This is very odd!!!
Have you tried playing it through the phones speaker, How does it sound then? Besides that u may be SOL
Yeah I can verify the problem. Right channel plays fine on my PC but parts of it are choppy on the phone. The music seems fine, just the spoken dialogue is broken.
Is it Just That pod cast or others as well?

Well, I'm new here, if this thread is in the wrong place, please forgive me, I thought it refers to computer configurations, smartphone and audio effects, it would be a general question. Well, I have a very troublesome problem. I have a Droid 2 (here in Brazil, known by Milestone 2) and it has some audio configurations that I would like to somehow "copy" to my computer. In Audio and Media effect, devices wired stereo, is actived in profile stereo 3D, which is awesome. I was watching One Piece when came across a very good audio quality in my original earphones of Droid 2. When I watch One Piece in my computer, the quality is so different, and I was trying to, kind of, equalize the audio to make equal. If someone has any kind of, I don't know, "copy" some internal audio plugin of the android system, or if anyone has a software that does similar service on my computer, I would really greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much for your attention :good:
Informations:
Droid 2(Milestone 2)
Rooted
3D stereo with original earphones
One Piece playing with mxplayer
android 2.3.6
HP-Pavillion dv6-6170br with the Audio Beats
Not sure if this information is useful to anyone but here it is.
Basically after nougat update Poweramp music player's 24bit playback mode fails to activate (even with latest 704 alpha installed). So those audiophile among us might be super annoyed .
Solution, add this line to build.prop , this has enabled 16bit 192khz playback on aicp7.1.2
ro.lenovo.hifi_support=true
Text would be better so anyone can copy-paste the settings!
Worked for LOS14.1
Small update , it seems that someone on the Poweramp forums has managed to enable 24/192 playback by tricking the phone into thinking it has Samsung software .
Anyone have any idea what he added to the build.prop?

If you want the best audio you can get out of your phone, install viper4arise. (and use esira/eleven)
Edit: Viper does not activate 192khz playback, because its useless (for a smartphone with only 1 aux output) read why here.

Hires audio is a complicated subject. I think it works for me because of the placebo effect ? Lmao
However, I'm also just a hobbyist looking to tinker around.
If I can recall correctly , most forms of audio mods on Android increases the noise floor by a significant amount, making everything sound quite messy (but I haven't tested arise yet) .
Just looking to share info around and spread the fun of tinkering

I had this problem with arise too, but you can reduce the "output gain" to reduce the quality loss while amplifying the signal (just remember to set it back if you need a louder signal, e.g. for small speakers). Like that i was able to completely anulate the small glitches and rushing/shizzling (or at least i dont hear it anymore xD).
I've tried dozens of sound mods (even changed roms for it) and the best (and most stable) solution for me is viper.
You however have to try around and install the arise modules one-by-one and then setting everything suitable for your needs (Profiles, add-ons like atmos).
But its worth it, even my 24bit 192Khz computer sound sounds bad now! :crying:
And? How do you like Arise? ^^

Seems pretty fine to me but I didn't play with it much since non of my earphones seem to respond well with it

What Earphones do you have?
For my somic/Xiaomi In-ear's it works perfectly (Arise core+atmos +Sono's headphone profile) i only use Atmos for more bass (e.g. drum n bass/goa).
But Mi4c/s is a ***** concerning audio (i think to remember flashing rom for rom to get good audio, but thats some time ago) xD

Kz zse , zst
And a piston hybrid
Yeah smartphone audio might just be average unless if its a LG V series .
Either way I'm planning on saving up for a dac or perhaps DAP in the future haha.

The Piston hybrid sound damn good to me with Sonophilos headphone profile and dolby atmos (but i'm on Oneplus2).
Make sure you get a DAC thats supported by viper if you get one ;P
24bit 192khz
I bet this one will work, tested on redmi note 4 mido
Change ro.product.manufacturer=Samsung
And add these lines from audio lines= persist.audio.uhqa=1
Hope it works, thanks me later

This trick just send 192khz audio PCM data to Android audio resampler, after that audio data will be resampled to 48khz/16bit for output.

For me this line is the one that works.
However, in my hi-res output option, DVC is always enabled.
As it's conflicting with Dolby, how to forcefully disable it?
Is there a way to make the earpiece fire sound while playing music for stereo effect?
There is a thread on this below. So far no mod is working. I have been working to and from for several weeks to try to get it done myself, but haven't been able to. I am not a developer, but know my way around scripts and modding files, but there are so many mixer files on the Nord.
I have been using this DIY thread as a guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/mod-dual-speaker-soundmod-devices-root-t3735280
If anyone else is making progress on this, I would be happy to cooperate in getting it done. In the DIY thread's youtube guide he says that some phones simply are not moddable. Perhaps the Nord falls into that category..
Hey all,
I'm experiencing bad music output with my op8, and btw experienced the same with my previous op 7.
While quality in headphones is fine, the quality in external speakers via bluetooth/cable is far from perfect: trebles are distorted and not pleasant, mid range bass is weak, and the only sort of bass present is irritating. Its not terrible - and can be tweaked a little in dolby atmos settings, but its so much worse than the samsung a50 i had.
Anyone else feels the same? is there something i can do?
