I'm on my second nexus 5 after the first one stopped working after updating it to 4.4.4.
So now I'm a bit nervous to re-update.
Has anyone experienced any big problems from doing the update?
There's always a risk that an update will "break" something. You have to be prepared to factory reset so keep your sdcard backed up.

Hello i really don't know where to look for help anymore so i'm going to try these forums.
Soo today all the sudden my Honor 8 shutdown and now it keeps trying to reboot and fails over and over.
I can't even shut it down or enter the reset menu via volumebuttons/powerbutton neither works.
I haven't messed around with rooting or anything like that so i don't know why it is doing this it was working just fine earlier and then this happened.
What should i do and if you need any more information ill be gladly help.
Thanks :/

If it is software after a couple of more it should boot into eRecovery. If it happened in the morning then it something must have gone wrong during an automatic software update.

It wont boot into any recovery menu or anything.
It tries to boot up shows the light blue screen huawei logo&/powered by android screen. After that it goes black and vibrates once, then starts over again and keeps doing this over and over.
I managed to finally shut it off by letting the battery run empty but as soon as i try to charge the battery it starts the boot attempt loop again even if i dont even press anything and keeps doing it.
If i hold volume+ & power button it does the same thing as mentioned above except after screen goes black it vibrates twice and then keeps doing the same loop again.
I dont know really what to do anymore, you have any suggestions on what i should do? Looked through whole internet yesterday and nothing seems to work ;_;

But thanks for your answers anyway hopefully we manage to fix this! I have my old phone as a backup phone still so no big deal i'd just like to use my Honor 8 specially since i bought it 2 days ago soo guess if nothing else works im just gonna have to return it and get a new one with warranty if i can i don't know hopefully i dont have to go that far.

You could maybe try the rollback package and use the Volume up+down+power button combination to install the Marshmallow firmware. Then update back to Nougat.

Nothing happens when i try Volume up+down+power button combination.

Alright with your phone plugged in use the command:
Fastboot erase userdata
This should wipe the phone clean and allow the phone to boot normally.

When trying to use that command i get error saying
Failed (remote: Command not allowed)
I tried looking up a fix online but wasn't able to fix it, you have any ideas what to do?

I guess we can't really do anything now. Visit the place you purchased the phone and ask for a replacement since most probably this is a defective unit, especially since it is new.

Thanks for your help even though we didn't manage to fix it c:
I was trying to downgrade my Pixel back to Oreo because of mostly app incompatibility (I should've taken that into account before I upgraded it, my bad) but everytime I tried to flash back to Oreo, I'm unable to do it because of the locked bootloader, I've been using recovery mode and adb sideload to try it, but I had a feeling it wouldn't work, can anyone recommend me any solutions to downgrade?
Edit: Well, I realized after looking for some answers on reddit, that I'm basically screwed for a while until DP2 comes out, so I'm still just hoping I can downgrade it but I might as well start accepting my fate.
+1. App compatibility in P makes my phone almost unusable, which is 100% my fault. Take note Verizon users. The changes in P aren't worth half your apps, including Google apps, not working.

I've had no problems. Only one app hasn't worked so far.

Sounds like your gapps broke, factory reset
It did take me a factory reset to fix my problems, but data for games and such are gone as a result. The apps that wouldn't work for me are apps like Amazon Prime Video, Youtube, and xda feeds.
So is it worth upgrading my Verizon XL to P or should I stay on Oreo? If so, is there a thread describing how to do this?

If your bootloader isn't unlocked stay on oreo. Android P is still in beta and there are potential problems to occur and if your bootloader isn't unlocked you will be stuck in the beta from what I've heard

Not at all. Is it completely stock or are rom and kernel installed? Barring that, return phone for refund or replacement before it's too late.
