Not at all. Is it completely stock or are rom and kernel installed? Barring that, return phone for refund or replacement before it's too late.

Hey guys!
I've had my phone for a couple of moths and just a few days ago it started acting weird. When i lock and unlock the phone my screen is black, but the phone is on and "fully working". If someone calls me, the phone vibrates but the screen is still black. Only way to fix it is to reboot. Anyone had this issue or know any solution?
Thanks

Yup, it's happened to me a few times and I have no idea what is causing it.
Are you using a custom kernel?

I've had the same issue over the last few weeks. I'm on rooted stock with franco kernel. Since the latest version r45, I haven't had the problem..

Its just a Franco issue as far as I know I've had the same issues using r40 using the stock kernel or any others its fine no s.o.d

Nice...
Glad I saw this thread. I was thinking it was a kernel related issue. I'm rooted stock with Franco. I was having the issue a few times around r40 - r44. Updated to r45 the other day and haven't had any issues since.
The issue disappeared as soon as I updated to r47. Thanks, guys

Last update being Version 8.0.0 (#800001324)? That's what I'm on without any issues.

Hello,
I'm completely stock, no root or anything on my Nexus 5.
I just received the 4.4.3 update (T-Mobile) and downloaded/installed. It asked for a restart, I said ok, and then it restarted.
Afterwards I checked the Android version under About Phone and it still shows as 4.4.2.
Any ideas? When I check for updates, it says I have the latest version.
Thanks!

I ended up just sideloading it. I shouldn't have had to, but weird issue regardless, especially since I'm completely stock.
I flashed the latest nightly yesterday. Everything was great. Then last night I had a total inability to make or receive phone calls. I thought it might just be an install issue so I did a reinstall and unfortunately same resuts. Im using radio m8974a-2.0.50.1.13..... is this the issue. It works perfectly on stock 4.4.3 and im rooted. I like the rom but need my phone to work. Any suggesions?

If relevant, does your carrier require anything special? (e.g. Sprint users need to flash a fix for APN or something, I wouldn't know as my carrier doesn't need anything)
Was it working at any point in time while on the ROM, or was it like that on first installation?

I use at&t it worked at first for about an hour then stopped. I think it has something to do with the new 4.4.3 stuff. 4.4.2 was fine.
BTW this also happened to a few people on another custom ROM when they went from 4.4.2 to .3. They had to revert to stop also.

Hello i really don't know where to look for help anymore so i'm going to try these forums.
Soo today all the sudden my Honor 8 shutdown and now it keeps trying to reboot and fails over and over.
I can't even shut it down or enter the reset menu via volumebuttons/powerbutton neither works.
I haven't messed around with rooting or anything like that so i don't know why it is doing this it was working just fine earlier and then this happened.
What should i do and if you need any more information ill be gladly help.
Thanks :/

If it is software after a couple of more it should boot into eRecovery. If it happened in the morning then it something must have gone wrong during an automatic software update.

It wont boot into any recovery menu or anything.
It tries to boot up shows the light blue screen huawei logo&/powered by android screen. After that it goes black and vibrates once, then starts over again and keeps doing this over and over.
I managed to finally shut it off by letting the battery run empty but as soon as i try to charge the battery it starts the boot attempt loop again even if i dont even press anything and keeps doing it.
If i hold volume+ & power button it does the same thing as mentioned above except after screen goes black it vibrates twice and then keeps doing the same loop again.
I dont know really what to do anymore, you have any suggestions on what i should do? Looked through whole internet yesterday and nothing seems to work ;_;

This should wipe the phone clean and allow the phone to boot normally.

I guess we can't really do anything now. Visit the place you purchased the phone and ask for a replacement since most probably this is a defective unit, especially since it is new.
