Still pretty new to this community. Anyways, the Galaxy S7 (not US) has a Exynos processor. All the Exynos ROM posts don't list supported devices so I'm unsure about G930L or G930K compatibility with G930F custom ROMs. Please help me out on this as I'm planning on buying a S7 to custom ROM and tinker with, but don't want to end up with a phone stuck on Android 8.0

Ignore the letter as you've said its the chipset that matters. Exynos is Highley customisable.

Hi, i am planning to buy Samsung S7. But i don't know which one is better from the point of view of custom rom. Exynos or Snapdragon?. I am regretting that i bought sgs5 (G900H) exynos version 2 years ago since there is only few custom roms. whereas Sasmung s5 snapdragon version have many custom roms.So which version of Samsung S7 will have more choices for custom rom in the future ?
Hi,
Keep an eye on this thread if you want a snapdragon version... Atm its WIP!.

I want to know which version have future for custom rom. Is there any likelihood to support the xda developer by samsung?Samsung have just release the kernel source to its S7 exynos device. Is it enough for developer?
Only exynos model is available in my country.
Hi guys , i just found that buying Galaxy S7 G930V is cheaper than G930F global version, but are they any diferences in hardware ?!
And can it be converted to Global one (G930F) ?!
P.s I live in Europe, but the phone is unlocked , so it wont be a problem with carriers !
Big differences in hardware, the US models have snapdragon chipsets and are bootloader locked
The International models are Exynos chipsets and bootloader unlocked
So no custom ROMs for the G930V or any other snapdragon model
No it cannot be converted to G930F
The modem and supported carrier bands also differ iirc so you might want to check the 930V can use the networks your carrier uses

None of SD801 yet. There was one tablet at SD6XX, and upon several try, it was not possible to boot to SD800 (note3). But you can try either way. Check tablets that got nougat update. It was the only one "port"able to SD800 (very similar to SD801).
Good luck

because there was many roms based on c9 pro with android marshmallow which got ported to s5
and the c9 pro got the nougat update so i was wondering why the devs didn't think about it or is it me who is missing sth important?
however i'm gonna ask you to do me a favour Can you give a guide about how to port the c9 pro stock nougat rom to s5 please

You started like "I want to port". From "I want to port" to actually porting will take about 2-3 years... if you study hard

Bye
I am new to the world of custom ROMs and never did this. My Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (India version, 3G, model SM N900, SSN: N900GSMH, Baseband version: N900DDUEBPF1, Software version: N900XXSEBPL3/N900ODDEBPF1/N900DDUEBPF1). I have few basic queries:-
How do I know exact model, processor, etc details of my Note 3? Since I purchased in India and that time India only had 3G phones (not LTE), so assuming its 3G only model. Also inside phone after removing battery shows above model nos
After installing a LineageOS ROM, my phone will stop receiving OS upgrades? Will I have access to play store apps which can be directly downloaded or need some workaround to download apps (my usage is regular apps like whatsapp, gdrive, youtube, chrome, etc)? If workaround needed for apps, would those apps get automatic updates or always require manual install?
Which ROM is suitable for my model? Mine is currently Android version 5.0 which is quite old. I am ok with any stable version above 5.0 If I get Android 8/9/10, I would feel myself very lucky
Please help.

it's exynos not snapdragon, you're not in the good forum..look exynos note 3
How do I confirm that mine is Snapdragon or Exynos? I googled and found that in India Note 3 was launched with Exynos and only 3G model, so I believe I am in correct forum. Can somebody answer my original queries please?

Thanks dear, posted my query there...
Samsung always releases Exynos variants in india but this time Samsung released S908E Snapdragon variant in india. I'm confused which Variant I should I buy because I'm custom rom lover. I never see much custom roms for SD vaints in india. So can someone help that which variant should I buy so that developers can support new custom roms to both variants Exynos & SD together.
If you are a custom rom lover, you might be better off buying a device that has better AOSP development support rather than spending 1 lakh+ on a device that would be feature handicapped if you happen to root it.
