Gestural Navigation - Swipe Across Bottom to Switch Apps - Huawei P40 Pro Questions & Answers

System & Updates ->
System Navigation ->
Gestures ->
Swipe across bottom to switch apps .. ENABLE
Is this working correctly for anyone? For me, nothing happens.
It should work like video 3 below .. just like my P4XL ...
https://www.cnet.com/how-to/android-10-master-googles-phone-gestures-with-these-8-tips/

Just tried, it works - but a bit flaky as I need to really swipe across the bottom edge....

I have tested this and cannot get it working either.
Can some others check and provide feedback please.

P40 Pro with GMS. For me this works with default launcher, though its not exactly smooth or easy to use. Doesn't work with Microsoft Launcher, but all other gestures do work.

Im using gestures from start and it works perfect. Got 121.

Just to clarify, the subject of this thread is the quick app switch gesture ... swipe across bottow of screen ...
Here is the status of all different gestures .....
Huawai launcher
back = ok
recents = ok
quick app switch = ok but glitchy and not smooth
Nova launcher
back = ok
recents = ok
quick app switch = does not work

I've tried quite a number of launchers, but none of the third-party ones is compatible with the quick switch at the bottom. A workaround is to use Fluid navigation gesture, which allows you to tweak the size, position, and thickness of the "bottom" region. No adb needed.

Soft ... 121
Work super smooth and correct

I'm with you in dying for a Nexus 5 (and nexus 6) custom rom to have immersive mode/expanded desktop. Cyanogenmod is working on it, but even as of today (11/29), it's not in any builds made from unofficial CM12. The only thing to hold you over until a dev puts this in is that there is a an app from GMD for immersive mode. I don't like how it works (and requires an in-app purchase to make a line go away) so I don't use it and rather wait "patiently" for expanded desktop/immersive mode on custom roms, but it's there.

First u have to install LMT launcher (tap lmt launcher xda on google and u will find the app).
Second u have to configure LMT launcher which is PIE Control.
And third u have to install root browser and add this line at the end of system build.prop : qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
Make sure LMT launcher is well configurated because it's not possible to bring back the original navbar after this.
Hope I helped u.

Any chance of being able to just hide the notification bar? So that it's still available like in-app immersive? Really like that the nav bar don't come up by the way, thx for that.
Edit - I'm doing this on a grouper. Just being point in the right direction would be great. But I got a feeling that what i'm asking is a little more complicated....

I use LMT for pie (works great) and the hide navbar method of qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 in build.prop same as you.
But it is possible to bring back the navbar launcher. Just navigate to your build.prop and delete the text you added "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1" then reboot.

U can use a third part launcher as Nova to hide the notification bar on desktop and drawer but impossible to hide this one when u open an app.
I use Chrome Beta and the 3 dots reappears.

Thanks for the chrome beta advice! And with all respect would never switch from GELauncher to any other launcher! Its swift, fast & efficient!
I do miss the Gravity Box module & the whole xposed installer!
Wish I was a smart developer and could help xposed get on lollipop soon!

Missed xposed too. Still no news from devs of xposed. Hope something will arrive as a gift for 2015 .

fingerprint gesture

Anyone onow a way to use the fingerprint gesture to pull down the notification shade like in the pixel and the s8???? I tried some apps but they usually dnt wrk.... Is it a hardware limitation on the n5 that it might not b possible??? I tried fingerprint quick action when it was in the beta stage and it wrked great, but once it hit the playstore it stopped responding like b4....
Any one know a way?
Hardware limitation I think..
you can use a launcher called: Nova Launcher
but u need to buy the premium version.
to be more specific, it will not act the same way you are asking, in the premium features you have on screen swipe gesture where you can assign the swipe down gesture to show the notifications.
I'm using this method and it is really nice.

Why people disable NavBar?

Any reasons why people use mods/hacks to disable the navbar permanently? Samsung offers the option to do so, but why u have to disable it permanently?
Gestures navigation is not that smooth & u have to use an app.
Is there any benefits or something I'm missing?

Lol That's pretty funny tbh:laugh:
You have this big beautiful touch screen, why do I want to take up space on the screen (or have it appear/disappear) every time I want to navigate or go to the home screen? I use Gesture Control so that I just have to swipe left/right/up at the bottom and never have to see it...
Looks better and is really cool to have the whole screen.... navigation gestures works pretty well.
It's quite simple really, you get more screen real estate and you don't need to look at the ugly navbar.

How did u hide the navigation bar & what gesture app/mod do u use please? I want something a little smoother than the xda gesture app.

I used to use plasmalite and it was awesome, unfortunately stopped working well under Oreo and it never got updated. Now I use XDA gestures, which is pretty OK, in some aspects better than plasmalite.

Xda gestures works great especially the split pill giving additional swipes. I have some very minor delays with it though, but I can live with it. OnePlus gestures is the best so far, but it's paid.
I tried out XDA's Navigation Gestures (paid version) but find Samsung's One Hand Operation+ more enjoyable.
From the edge screen I simply swipe left to go back, to open recents I swipe up diagonally from the same place and to go home I just press the home button.

LMT Pie control

I mentioned this in another thread but think it deserves it's own... if you have had success getting the stock nav bar gone and LMT in it's place any methods/tips would be appreciated.

You can try removing the stock buttons with the app Custom Navigation Bar. Then give the app OnePlus Gestures a try.
i tried oneplus gestures ... but while it would hide the bar, it would not allow lmt to work on the bottom =(

This is the best way to hide Navbar without introducing other issues. Using the methods built in to OnePlus Gestures, XDA Gestures, and the like causes a problem with the location of the volume slider when the phone is in landscape.

So I got root and tried the build prop editing... Worked fine for removing the navbar but I can only get lmt to recognize the sides of the screen, it won't activate on the bottom where the old navbar was... Any ideas?

MIUI 10 like Navigation Gesture For Custom Roms

After switching to mokee rom from miui 10 only thing I missed was the navigation gesture. I think it is one oft the most beautiful implementation among all. So I was looking for third party apps to mimic miui gestures. So far I have found these to be parfect. I am using the first one right now...
