I have been wondering about the alternative for Photos app on AOSP based Roms for RN7P. I don't really like the Photos app also is there any port for the MiUi Gallery app?

I love the cyanogen roms but hate the stock camera app, is it possible to get like the galaxy s camera app, the sense one or droid x app to work on cyanogen? and I know about vignette, and stuff but they arent something id use EVERYDAY.

I have been messing around with custom roms for a few weeks now, I am liking the CM12 nightly builds but always find myself going back to the stock roms due to the missing of some of the stock apps...
Would anyone be kind enough to give me some good / close alternatives for apps like:
Camera app
Album app (can't stand stock photos app)
Email app (don't like gmail)
The email app is not really a bit one as I already know of many good alternatives in the play store, as for the camera / album apps I don't know of any good alternatives

for Album and Camera
thr s no apps like these they r special
for example AR effect of Xperia Camera and lots of smooth/nice feature on album
so if u need them just back to stock rom...

They don't have to be exactly the same, just something that can do the same job, The stock android camera app is just awful
Why don't you try Manual Camera and Cyanogen Gallery?
Both available on Play Store.
Btw, Manual Camera is only for Lollipop.

I recently flashed Android Oreo on my OnePlus One (LineageOS 15) and I noticed that the gallery built-in app looks like the Android 5 one. It really lacks in design which surprised me. I installed open gapps and everything and just wanted to ask if the built-in gallery app is supposed to be Google Photos for ANdroid 8? I really don't like the layout of Google Photos and to be honest the built-in gallery is extremely fast. I tried different gallery apps like Simple Gallery or Piktures which have stunning design and layout but still... built-in gallery is super fast at loading photos.. Yes, even faster than Google Photos.
If I am missing something can you please link me to an apk of the Android Oreo gallery? If what I have now is the actual gallery.. well shame on you android 8.. there is literally no design to it.. it's like the only app that feels like has been left behind.. Phone, contacts, messages and all the rest of built-in apps have an updated material-design and all... except the gallery.

You have to flash OpenGapps Stock version to get gallery replaced by Google Photos app.

I don't want to have Google Photos to replace the built-in gallery. I don't like Google Photos cos built-in gallery is better and faster.. just lacks in design and I was wondering if it is the correct gallery and just stayed outdated..
Is google photos supposed to replace it? Is that why they don't update it anymore?

I have become such a big fan of OOS Stock dialer & People app. While People app can be found in Play Store, Dialer isn't. Can anyone please or is it even possible to import this app for other roms specially LOS based ones. Thanks.

I'm using PE+ rom and I absolutely love it. The only thing I miss from Miui is the gallery, it was such a blast. I tried the apk port of gallery from apkmirror but it doesn't tend to install on my rom. I really want miui gallery and many other ppl does too. To all the developers there, can anyone port the gallery for custom rom? It would be so fantastic if you could.

I was a Violet user quite few years back, I have put request threads for the same but never got any mods, there's some issue with the framework that Mi stock apps work over, that's why no one actually ported them and posted a mod for the same.
