Hello
I wanted to reset my Huawei P40 PRO, under 10.1.0.121.
I was asked to disable its location, which I did; but the reset does not work, after 3 times, I composed the *#*#2846579#*#* to reset it.
Since then, I've been stuck on a Huawei account password request page that doesn't allow me to type the account password because it disappears in 1/2 seconds, with a next window telling me of a network error; so I'm stuck; Would any of you have an idea ?
Thank you
Hey there. I assume you already tried rebooting the phone. Try the following: power off your phone. After it's turned off, press and hold the power button and volume up button. Hold the two buttons until you see an EMUI logo with options to restart, clear data etc. (See screenshot). Try the "clear data" option. It will wipe EVERYTHING on the phone's storage. Then it should reboot and hopefully the issue is gone. Or perhaps you could try "safe mode"? Not sure what that does, but you could give it a try.

Hi,
I dont know what happened but since this afternoon (no matter how many times I perform a soft reset) sense is unable to start. I cant even navigate my phone. however I can still send and recieve calls but that's it.
Does anybody know what caused this? Although I install various software on an regular basis I'f never flashed the standard ROM.
Can you please tell me how to perform a hard-reset if software doesn't allow me to?
quote from the manual:
"To perform a hard reset
1. With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then press the END/POWER button shortly and release it. You will then see this message on the screen.
This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.
2. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
3. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset"
However before you do that, you could try disabling sense + soft reset + enabling sense -> this helped me few times when my sense wouldn't start.
The question is can you get to Start Menu / Settings? or - if not - does your ActiveSync work?
Some info from the Htc website..
Performing a Factory/Hard Reset You can return your phone to its original state, as it was when it left the factory. This is also called a hard reset. You might want to do this if you are giving your phone to a friend or relative and you want to remove all your data first, or if your phone has a persistent problem that is not solved by powering off the phone and then powering it on again.
A factory reset is a drastic measure. It permanently erases all your personal data and customized settings, and also removes any programs you have installed. Make sure that you have backed up the information and files you want to keep. For information about ways of backing up your phone, see the following topics:
Synchronizing With Outlook on Your Computer
Backing Up Your Phone Using Microsoft My Phone
Performing a factory reset via settings
The most convenient way to do a factory reset is via the phone settings.
On the Home screen's Settings tab, tap Menu > All Settings > System > Clear Storage.
Enter 1234.
Tap YES to perform the reset, or tap NO to cancel the reset.
Performing a factory reset using phone buttons
If you cannot turn on your phone or access the phone settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using buttons on the phone.
With your phone powered off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
While holding the volume buttons, press the END/POWER button briefly and then release it.
When you see a warning message on screen, release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.

Tnx guys but no luck, when phone is off and I hold the volume buttons then briefly tap power button the damn thing turns on...the the whole crap starts all over again...nothing works except sending and recieving calls...
ok, before you attempt to loose all your data, try copying unpacking the attached file to your Windows folder - it can be done with ActiveSync,
if I did not screw up, once the file is copied there, long-press of phone button should bring the today settings, where you can try to disable sense, and see what happens then...

Agree 100%. I backup regularly but now I cant even hard-reset so that's not my problem.
Until now a hard reset always worked. Putting your (p107r0) file in the windows folder at least gave me the uportunity to disable sense and grand me access to the settings. But the touch screen seems to suffer from this virus too...when I try to purge my stored info (entering 1234) the keyboard shows what key I press but the number doesnt appear in the textbar...
Even trying to install a cab doesnt work. I can find everything on the phone but tapping does nothing...
I'm very close to flushing the phone down the toilet or something...
I feel your pain (1 month with overheating mainboard), but don't flush it yet
try the second method for HR - the one where you start with both vol keys pressed

Hi community, I just purchase in ebay an Atrix 2, was a bargain. Well, the problem is that I was going to unlock it, because Im in Ecuador, so purchase a unlock code, but it didnt work, I wrote asking other sellers if they can provide another code, but all says that thats the only valid code to unlock it, so I think this thing is in a hard locked state (more than 10 times wrong unlock code) I just try 2 times with the actual code that I have.
I search in the web and a solution for an atrix 1 was to flash a radio. Im new with this device, anyone have any suggest or fix for this problem?
Hope you can help me.
If anyone have access to unlock codes maybe can check if I have the right one, this is the info that the unlocker give me:
for IMEI: 356378042076331
unlock code:62659983
Sold the phone as parts, anyway if there's a solution please post it to help other people.

Factory reset, if you use TWRP, it's wipe cache - dalvik and data
But if I understand what's exactly your problem: your pattern lock is blocked and you cannot access to your device, is it correct ?
Try this:
Before you perform this unlock you must remove the sim card and sd card or it will not reset!
1, With the phone turned of, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button.
2, Wait for the screen with the 3 Android images to appear, ONLY then release the VOLUME DOWN button.
3, Press VOLUME DOWN twice to select "CLEAR STORAGE", and then press the POWER button..
4, When asked to "CONFIRM", press VOLUME UP
5, Finally "REPLACE" the SD Card and SIM Card to restore settings and contacts and you're away!

I tried restarting the phone, but then Google Play and all my apps were gone, it's as if the device is partly in Ultra Stamina Mode with other functions still working. Google Play services keeps crashing also...
I think maybe I pressed "activate/deactivate" Ultra Stamina too many times as it was not exiting out of the mode at all...

Ouch!
I just did a factory reset and everything is fine now. Unfortunately I didn't back anything up and once this glitch occurs you can't! (you can't even view your IMEI number)
Sony gave me this reply but it wasn't helpful as I already did the factory reset:
1. If the issue is caused by a glitch on the software, you can try to force the device to restart, connecting the device to the wall charger and then press and hold down the volume up and the power key together at least 5 seconds, or until the device vibrates 3 times, then power on the device.
2. If that does not work you will need to find the OFF key that is next to the SIM card, is a red/yellow button, and please press and hold down the OFF button for 120 seconds.
3. If none of the steps stated before works, you will need to perform a factory data reset, please remember to perform a backup of the information because this process will reset the device into factory settings.
Factory data reset.
From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
Find and tap Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset.
If you also want to erase data such as pictures and music, which is saved to your device's internal storage, mark the Erase internal storage checkbox (does not affect the SD card).
Tap Reset phone/tablet or Erase everything.
If required, draw your screen unlock pattern or enter your screen unlock password or PIN to continue.
To confirm, tap Erase everything.
If none of the steps previously taken solved the issue, in this case I will recommend you to perform a software repair to your phone, here are the steps on how to do it, we have an extended guide that should help you fix the Pattern Lock issue on your phone, please follow the instructions carefully:

Thanks for the information. I read something about the step 1, but i tried and no luck..I did a backup before resetting my sony z5p, but the backup could not be loaded because it is saying that the Android OS is old (I guess Safe-mode). Luckily the Backup & Restore inside the xperia phone backed up almost everything, just some apps' chat history is gone.
I'm very afraid of using the Ultra Stamina mode, even know i am certain of the error that i (might have) made.

Apparently quite a few Z3/Z2/Z1 users have also encountered the same problem - appears to be a Lollipop-related bug. I couldn't even backup as the only option under "Backup & Reset" was Factory Reset
try to enter Ultra Stamina again, and then quit it
It helped me
I'd like to get this phone into a usable, stable state. Right now, it's useless.
Background: The phone is an unlocked US version I purchased directly from HTC. I had been using it on T-Mobile. In Sept. '19 I got an update to Android Pie. Soon after, NFC payments stopped working. I put the phone on the shelf and switched to a OnePlus phone. I did a factory reset on the U11 and want to set it up for my wife, but it wont fully initialize. Here is what happens...
Power on to HTC logo (static)
Replaced by HTC animated logo with start-up sound
Phone displays WELCOME screen, with a "Let's Go" button.
I press Let's Go and the phone goes to the internet setting screen to enable mobile data and sign on to WiFi
I connect to local WiFi
The Terms of Use are displayed. I select NEXT.
The phone displays:
Just a sec..
Checking for Updates...
Checking info....
Then, a Google sign on screen appears, and immediately is replaced by the "Just a Sec..." screen and a notification window that says "Android Setup has stopped."
I've never done anything more advanced with phones than wiping a cache partition, but am willing to try most anything with this phone at this point. I've nothing to lose, but would love to get it back into service.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I would try the hole process not connecting to WIFI
Also you might try to do a Hard Reset, just be sure to have enough battery
Here how
A hard reset will wipe all data from the device and set everything back to factory settings. Ensure you have backed up your data before proceeding.
Hard Reset From Startup
Turn the phone off by pressing and holding the “Power” button for 3 seconds, then selecting “Power off“.
Press and hold the “Volume Down” button and press release the “Power” button to turn the U11 on.
When the HTC logo appears, release both buttons.
Press “Volume Down” to select “Factory Reset“, then press the “Power” button to choose it.
The device will then restart and the hard reset will be complete.
Hope it helps

Excellent! I bypassed WiFi and everything else, and now I'm looking at a proper home screen! Any other tips or suggestions to get the most out of this device? Maybe getting it back to Oreo, when everything worked? I'm now getting the "Unable to start Camera" error that I've heard a lot of users have had.

Hey ESJ...I have the same issue with my HTCU11 here in Australia. I just posted yesterday to this Q&A session (above yours, sorry, didn't see your post) . I eventually got it to go past this point (don't ask me how). I went back and forth between a factory reset to clearing the cache partition and re-starting and finally it just booted up to the basic HTC screen with the factory installed apps. I have everything backed up, but the problem is, now I can't log in to any Google accounts. It crashes at the log in screen with ""Google Play services has stopped". I read elsehwere that there was aproblem with Chrome and "Android System Webview" and that there's an update to fix this problem, but I can't log into my Google accounts (Acounts, GMail, Play Store, etc) to download the update...I'm stymied. I suspect you have a similar issue? Hopefully an Andorid/Google guru will have a step by step solution, otherwise, I'll just get a new phone....and not an HTC!!!

I was an HTC fan for years, but I am done with them. I'm currently studying the process for downgrading to Oreo on this U11 to see if I can get it revived. That may be your best strategy as well. Good luck, Mate!
