Hi. i am trying to flash TWRP recovery on my Google Pixel 3a
Bootloader is unlocked and the device is rooted with magisk.
Whenever i try to install TWRP this message shows up:
Command prompt (Admindistrator)
C:\Users\Shrek>fastboot flash recovery C:\Users\Shrek\Desktop\twrp-3.3.1-1-sargo.img
Sending 'recovery' (65536 KB) OKAY [ 2.317s]
Writing 'recovery' FAILED (remote: 'Not allowed to flash (recovery)')
fastboot: error: Command failed
I am confused on why this is happening. Any help will be appreciated!
Kind regards, Ben.
Twrp won't work for Android 10 & 11 you can search this on xda

What stock recovery image are you trying to flash?
Link to it?

I try 3 version extract from ruu and One_S_All-In-One_Kit "Stock flash recovery" and r2-modaco-recovery-clockwork-touch-ville and ville_recovery_signed
Not sure, your bootloader is unlock when you're trying?
and the command
Code:
fastboot flash recovery [COLOR="Red"]recovery.img[/COLOR]
recovery.img has to be spell exactly as the recovery image file you have.

Siret to intercept,
I have an HTC VILLEC2 ( now i know this) few days ago I have tryed to install an custom rom. Because I didn't know that my device is an S3 processor i proceed with unlocking my boot loader. That went well. I have tryed to install CWM. That went also well, but I can't start it.
For te moment the phone runns în stock firmware pretty good but do not allowed me to make any Up Date frm HTC Updat server.
The question is, it is possibe to reinstall the original CWM. Also where can I download it?
THX FOR ALL SUPPORT IN ADVANCE.
Hi,
I'm trying to root my Moto G. Was able to unlock it but can't flash recovery or boot superboot with fastboot.
On trying to push twrp with: fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
I get the error:
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'recovery' (8090 KB)...
FAILED (data transfer failure (Unknown error))
finished. total time: 5.021s
On trying to boot superboot with: fastboot boot boot.superboot.img
Iget the error:
downloading 'boot.img' ...
FAILED (command write failed (Unknown error))
finished. total time: 5.014s
I can't seem to find a solution online, does someone know how to fix these errors?

just install flashify from the playstore and flash a recovery from there its very easy and i think a large number of people had the same problem anyhow thats how i fixed it after further reading in xda cheers, martin
I am actually a fan of rooting without changing the recovery
just use
fastboot boot YourRecovery.img
Click to collapse
and then flash e.g. latest supersu zip http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu you can even do this by adb sideload in CWM (for the recovery i used CWMrecovery)
i like this method because it will leave your recovery untouched and just root :highfive:
Why dont you flash just Philz Touch recovery? Then go to recovery option on Fastboot mode, once Philz has booted, touch REBOOT SYSTEM, then the recovery will tell you "Your device is not rooted or SU is missing, do you want to apply SU?" Then scroll to YES option and phone will reboot.. DONE, rooted! Now go to Play Store and grab SuperSU app.. Then you can flash to stock recovery....
All I had to do was change the usb port. Now everything is working fine.

The OP is trying to root his device. AFAIK Flashify requires the device to be rooted to work. What am I missing?
Hi,
after having TWRP, the factory reset function won't work since the data partition isn't recognized yet. Does anyone have the stock recovery version for this?
i already tried downloading from http://huaweidevices.ru/huaweiserviceworkarchivehuawei/eva-l19/recovery.img but it fails with the below message:
fastboot.exe flash recovery recovery.img
target reported max download size of 471859200 bytes
sending 'recovery' (35180 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.318s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 1.318s
edit: found out the issue was related to the allow OEM unlock as turned off
is your bootloader still unlocked?

Yups, still unlocked bootloader and currently on twrp recovery, but will need stock recovery if any operations like upgrade or factory reset needs to be done.
Hi. I unlocked bootloader and flashed twrp via fastboot, but when I try to boot into it, the phone gets stuck at "your phone is booting now". The stock recovery no longer works. The phone's never been updated, still on Android 6.0 and EMUI 4.0. I tried several twrp versions with the same effect. What am I doing wrong? Can dm-verity be somehow interfering with twrp? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-next.img
target reported max download size of 471859200 bytes
sending 'recovery' (22020 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.701s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.129s]
finished. total time: 0.830s
Months later I tried the same, also NXT-L29
Endless:
"Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted....."
Your device is booting now...
Any solution please?

I've downloaded this TWRP ; twrp-3.1.1-0-grace.img (for huawei P8) (Note that version twrp-3.1.0-0 and twrp-3.0.2-0 do not work either)
I have already tried to access the recovery screen manually right after the flash (using vol Up + Power button on huawei) and i got this error
