What's the best way to connect a mic to the OP 7?
Tried to connect a Rode pro mic with a trs cable to my OP 7 then tried the dji usb c to trs adapter I own, but no luck. Have a trrs to trs cable but no joy with the dji adapter either.
Next trying usb c to trrs female then a trrs to split trs for gaming
Will it work, or is there another option?
Peter
I was able to connect most of my mics to OP7.
I use Gcam 6.1+ version IIRC and choose external mic.
My setup is:
usb c >jack adapter
trss trs Y split
Just this is enough for my rode videomic pro
and sometimes, when it does not work I add a mixer/di box or whatever

So here's what I want to do: remember when iPods (with clickwheels) were all the craze and everyone had a speaker dock for their iPod. You would stick your iPod on the dock and it would charge while it played music from speakers. I want to make a dock for my Pixel that sends out audio (3.5mm) and charges it at the same time. The idea is essentially to have a USB-C to to double USB-C splitter (basically impossible to find), into that I would plug a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter and a charger. Probably wouldn't be fast charging, and I'm okay with that.
Would such a thing work?
Is there a better way to do it? I have seen cables that are micro-USB on one side and 3.5mm and USB-A on the other side. That's what I'm going for.
I can't find anything that plugs into USB-C and has 2 USB-C ports on the other side. Do they exist?

The Pixel has both USB C port and 3.5mm headphone jack, no need to invent or look for a splitter.
You can use a standard USB C dock or a plain stand and plug in the charger and the 3.5mm cable.

The whole idea is to make something where I don't have to plug into the phone's 3.5mm jack, like an old iPod dock.
Has anyone tried an "Y" style audio and usb c charge cable with G5? Such as this one ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07176LPDT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_cxOHzb2QDXMWE )
I like to use my H850 in my car with a win sheild mount hooked to my car stereo through the top 3.5 mm headphone jack. I tough something like the above adapter might be nice and I could charge the phone at the same time.
I'm not sure if the G5 supports analog audio out over USB or if the above adapter has a cheap DAC in it as I could not find documentation on it. I have read elsewhere that the G5 does not work with USB DACs but that it does work with USB C headphones, which may be using a different standard.
Thanks.
Ok, just remembered I have a small USB audio "card" that I tried with my USB OTG cable. As long as I kept the USB setting on "power external device" it worked just like an external audio device. The card has its own volume up, down, and mute button which worked. It treated it as a "USB audio / dock" and responded to changes to that section of viper4android. The only downside is I am sure it draws more power (since the card has an LED light) and with this setup I cannot charge the phone.
I haven't tested the cards mic input or spdif output yet. It is based on the VIA Envy VT1620A chioset.
I use a USB headset through a USB-A to USB-C adapter and it works fine. I don't know about charging at the same time.
I'm trying to find an adapter that allows me charge my phone and listen to my headphones with either USB c earphones or 3.5. So USB c on one side and 2 USB C and a 3.5 jack on the back. I can't seem to find something or maybe I don't know what to search for lol.
It looks like Edge 2021 supports USB-C analog out.
Moto Z3 headphones adapter works.
For what it's worth, these also work well with the Edge 2021. Just confirming for anyone who doesn't have a spare USB C dongle handy.

No 3.5 jack. You can use an USB C adapter that has a 3.5 . . . is that the adapter you are referring to that you tried from your S7?
I have one that is just a 3.5 so I can use headphones when out-n-about, and another with both a 3.5 and another USB C.
