Butter Kernel​
Presenting Butter kernel, a custom kernel built with many optimizations and tweaks. This kernel will work on Stock lollipop GPe devices. The main aim is to provide a stable kernel with optimizations and some features.

How to Flash:
1. Download the kernel and place it into your phone storage

MP Decision options are missing in kernel tweaker. All cores stay online. Thanks for the wonderful work.

How to Flash:

You need ROM's default kernel before flashing this as this kernel uses Anykernel2 by @osm0sis (huge thanks to him). Make sure you have it otherwise clean flash the kernel with the rom to avoid any issues.(At least dirty flash rom+kernel)

One request: if u could add SMARTMAX that you used in G1. It was perfect and best balance of backup and performance.
Besides this hotplug (Fast lane hotplug if possible).
Without hotplug also its going good. Have set min freq to 400MHz and now scaling looks under control without ramping to highest 1.3GHz Wow..! Even after making interactive to be more conservative, the performance is soo buttery smooth. That's lovely.

Yeah I'll add necessary governors only. I won't be adding any hotplug. We are going to stick with msm_performance. I've already merged tweaks to msm_performance for better performance and stability

That's great honestly I haven't noticed any extra saving on battery backup by offlining of cores on this phone. The stock kernel running without offlining used to still do the best in backup.
So yes I strongly agree.

Working fine here on stock rom. Optimus is my daily drive. It meets my requirements :good:

Fluid UI
This kernel is now my daily driver. My UI doesn't lag anymore like other kernels and my games seem a tad smoother ( Most likely a placebo). Keep up the good work flashhh

Obviously you can use the sources of this kernel but i won't provide support if you want to build it on windows (cygwin) or on mac
You must use LZMA compression if you want to use this kernel for building a recovery otherwise the image won't fit the ~8 MB partition of our device
WARNING #1
if you want to flash phh's superuser (i use this) then flash first the superuser zip and after the kernel otherwise the rom won't boot
if you use SuperSU the order of flash doesn't matter

Don't flash this kernel over an another custom kernel
Before flash make sure to have a way back (backups, dump, ...) and if you want to revert back to default kernel of your rom simply reflash the rom zip

Remember that the some features can ruin/break some parts of your phone here are some examples:

edit: got it working will be live in the next build!

enable doubletap2wake (knockon) and tap2wake will be disabled automatically
first enable tap2wake (echo 1 > /sys/class/misc/touchwake/enabled) and after enable knockon (echo 1 > /sys/class/misc/touchwake/knockon)

@ParanoidNote I'm using your kernel in the latest crDroid build, but I'm not sure how to use the dt2wake feature. How can I enable it?

ok open a terminal, and type:
su
echo 1 > /sys/class/misc/touchwake/enabled
echo 1 > /sys/class/misc/touchwake/knockon
echo 60 > /sys/class/misc/touchwake/delay (delay after the screen goes off)(optional)
if this doesn't work try to reflash the kernel and repeat the procedure above

however i will post in the main thread a sample init for configure the kernel at boot (enable dt2wake, boeffla, zzmoove,...)

Installation:
If you are on Miui:
• First backup your pronto_wlan.ko and wlan.ko at system/lib/modules/wlan.ko and system/lib/modules/pronto/pronto_wlan.ko.
• If you are on the stock kernel: flash the kernel zip and reboot
• If you are on a custom kernel: flash the stock boot image matching your Miui version, flash the kernel zip, and reboot. I would also recommend dirty flashing the latest OOS zip as well.
If you are on a custom ROM:
• If you are on the kernel that came with your ROM: flash the kernel zip and reboot
• If you are on a custom kernel: dirty flash your ROM zip, flash the kernel zip, and reboot

1.3 A: That's happen in my testers too, so i guess only redmi note 4x made in china support hvdcp charging & redmi note 4 only support dcp charging,
1.4 Q: Why when charging with QC adapter so hot?
1.4 A: Charging temp is depends on our atmosphere, my thermal mod will throttle our charging rate if ur thermal(case_therm) reach up to 46°

I install it in LiquidRemix Oreo and for now rom is smooth like with stock kernel.I will test battery life.I tick all in aroma installer.White flash is working great...just like in miui.I don't know why OP didn't wrote that...maybe as surprise. Anyway thanks for greta kernel...i will try it in miui also.

Yeah finally new notification shade come to 9.5.4.0, for full changelog you can see in miui forum and of course custom kernel have more features than stock

Copy Kernel to your desired Location

Reboot and wait
First time rooting, Open magisk app Once to ensure root is working

Bootloader is based on stock 8.1 j701fxxS6BSC1 and the rom is black bird os.I tried on 8.1 quatam rom v2.6 and got same Resul.

How can i use adoptable storage with that Kernel?
It will never shown anywhere and also failed when using root essential or adb brigde
