Hello all!
I currently purchased a video projector AUN Full HD1080P AKEY6S and I am trying to connect it through HDMI to my Denon AVR. When I plug in the HDMI cable, the sound goes off on the build in speakers and normally should be sent to AVR through ARC + HDMI cable -> well, this is not happening. I tried to unplug all the cables and put them back and still nothing. I would like to mention that currently I am using the AVR with ARC functionality on my TV and works , so the problem is not my AVR but my projector. Someone else having the same issue? How can I fix this?
Thanks

Hello all. I've been trying to use the HMDI out on my Transformer, but with no luck. I've tried plugging an HDMI-HDMI mini cable into my HDMI TV, and also using an HDMI-HDMI Mini adaptor on an existing standard HDMI cable, but nothing seems to happen. I get no signal from the HDMI ports on the TV, and I don't get the "HDMI" icon on the transformer toolbar.
This was the cable I tried:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001NXK86Y/ref=oss_product
...and this was the adaptor:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000UJKOW0/ref=oss_product
Does this require some kind of "special" HDMI cable? If so, what should I be looking for?
Thanks for any help chaps!

You don't have a Panasonic TV do you? I remember seeing that there's some problem using those sets..
Ah Yes I do, a Panasonic TX32G10B. It hadn't occured to me that the TV itself might be the problem! I'm seeing various posts on the net about this now, but none that appear to have a fix. Any ideas if anything can be done about this incompatiblity?
I have a Panasonic Viera and have spent an evening with it changing every setting i could find but with no luck at all. I restarted, reconnected about a million times in every combination of sequences there are and some more besides.
Could not get the TV to hook up to the TF.
I bought my HDMI cable at Maplin.
Like yourself if anyone has any suggestions then I'm all ears!

You can try contacting Panasonic to see if there is a software upgrade for the TV which may address the issue.
Done that- i have latest firmware already - the tv has a software update function built in.
I just tried my transformer & HDMI cable on a different TV, and it's worked sucessfully, so I guess it's a compatibility problem between the Transformer and my Panasonic TV. There doesn't appear to be a software update function on my model of TV, so I hope it eventually get addressed on the transformer end!
I've heard others say to try the other HDMI ports on the back of the TV etc also. I know for a fact that all cables dont work either, I had a belkin cable that never worked tried with a phillips cable from sears and boom it worked! weird.
use a 1.4 mini-hdmi to hdmi cable (174cm-5.60$)on my dynex flat tv (720p)
image and sound work without problem out of the box..
link to the cable :

I bought a cheap HDMI to mini HDMI adaptor off ebay. It did not work with my Panasonic TH-P50VT20A (50" 3D Aussie model) I tried plugging it in my reciever and then also 2 other Panasonic plasmas, and a Samsung Plasma. I also tried various cables. I then went and puchased a new adaptor from Jaycar electronics and it works fine. There is a bit of overscan but am pretty sure that is because of a setting on the TV. Some will work others don't but my new Panny Plasma did work with the right adaptor.

->[Q] Tablet with digital audio out [tablet->optical(toslink or coax)cable->DAC]
Hello,
I've tried the search and couldn't find anything relating to my issue.
I need a portable device/music player that has the ability to stream digital audio to my DAC (digital to analog converter).
I would like to listen to my music in my car using this tablet/music player. I have a DAC/Signal prosessor which has both optical coax and toslink inputs to recieve the signal so either one is fine.
Here is the signal path explained once again:
tablet -> optical toslink or coax cable -> DAC -> any given audio system (In my case also car audio system)
Please help me choose a tablet or help me find a way to do this. I know that some tablets have hdmi out, but it gets a little too tricky to seperate the digital audio signal from hdmi port to spdif, am I right?
Any help is greatly appreciated,
-Tersi
Guys, I don't mean to be impatient but I thought this was the place to get some answers to my problem.
Is there a way to send digital audio via usb port? I think there are ways to convert digital audio from usb to spdif..
Or could there maybe be a docking station, that has a digital audio output?
Please share your knowlage of the tablet world!
I am also looking for this too! I want to use a tablet as a car pc and run the audio out of it digitally to prevent all noise and ground loop headaches.
Did anyone ever get anywhere with this. I'm looking to do the exact same thing and the HDMI converter kit I bought is useless so I'm looking for another go around.
ainol novo basic
I just received an ainol novo basic w/ ICS (mcbub.com from LA). It uses a MIPS processor so not all apps are 100% compatible, however I am able to use it as intended (music player). If you tether you can use pandora, slacker, etc.
I take the HDMI out into a monoprice 5557 (sorry no url)
HDMI converter which outputs toslink, analog, RCA.
I use this in a home application (110v), however they are low power and you can use it in a car.
Be careful you need the Ainol Basic because it has the HDMI output. The paladin (which I also have) does not.
I'm sure there are others but for $130 I doubt you will do better, especially because it's running ICS also.
I use RCA optical into my Fiio DAC (sounds better). Toslink works too.
Monoprice switch uses ~3W on 5V, the Ainol is powered by miniusb.
I'm sure you have an onboard DAC (Fiio is excellent tho), but if you dont I recommend it. It has issues w/ 5.1 audio tho, so only pass it stereo.
I haven't tested 5.1 sound on it, although the specs say it will pass it. Your DAC will probably be the issue.
HTH.
Is this the only tablet that can do that? I was also considering this. Doing digital to the back of the car and then running it to a powerful car audio system.
I am also looking for this tablet or solution to this problem. Anybody knows?

What kind of tablet do you have there are otg and charging kernels for most of the popular tablets and a few tricks for any samsung that supports otg...and if ur tablet doesn't support it u can wire a relay to a moded cable that will charge when the car is off and otg when car is on.. if u need details let me know.

I purchased and connected the cables (samsung hdtv adapter and an hdmi to vga adapter) and the projector won't recognize my tablet. Is there anything I need to do on my Note 10.1 to make it acceptable to the projector? Hoped to use it to show a video for a charity fundraiser.

could be that the hdmi/vga cable might not work with the tablet. does the pj have an hdmi input? i'd assume no or you might have tied that already. check the set up on a monitor to verify that the cable will work with the adapter.
Is the HD?MI adaptor being powered? The HMI adaptors for other Samsung devices required they were plugged in to either power or a usb port.
part of the solution

That was the problem. I was too anxious and didn't read the directions about plugging into a power source. Thanks!
Now the problem is that I can't get the audio to work. The stereo cable that came with the hdmi to vga adapter won't work with the projector. I'll run out to Radio Shack tomorrow to see if they have one that works. BUT, is there any way to get the tablet to play the audio or play through my bluetooth Rockdoc speaker instead of going through the projector? Seems as soon as I plug in to the projector I lose the audio. Wish there were a way to work around that. Any suggestions?
please

Hi, I have a new SHIELD Tablet K1 (the new version) and whenever I plug in my tablet to a TV, sound doesn't work, only if i plug in some headphones in the tablet's 3.5mm jacket. Does this happen to you too?
it has to work, i ve tested this several times and it works fine. Maybe it s a problem with an old cable or your tv / av

Nope, TV works, I've tested the same cable at the plug and it doesn't work. Already contacted NVIDIA Support Center, waiting for their response.
Has anyone tried this or found any method of getting a HDMI signal from it?
Thanks
Steve
I'm a bit clueless about that but I took the usb-c cable that I use from my laptop to my external monitor and plugged it in to my Note 10 to see if anything would happen. nothing....
Hi thanks for your reply. So you normally use a USB-C to HDMI cable for your laptop to monitor connection but it doesn't work with the Note 10?
Bummer....
Tried yesterday to connect Type-C to 3,5mm Headphone adapter just because i still had it from my Mix 3 and even that doesn't work
Gosh that's weird. At least it has a 3.5 mm jack.
I have a cheapy Anycast Wireless/HDMI dongle that worked with my Mi9. When I get home, I'll try it out with my monitor and report back.

Thanks for testing it. I'm still away, but will check the Anycast HDMI dongle later this week and report back.

Well I'm back now and have had a play, but can't get my AnyCast dongle to work. If I go into:
Setting/Connection & Sharing/Cast
and turn cast on, it scans for nearby devices but doesn't find any.
I've tried a few play store apps, including EZMira, but all say the device must not be rooted and mine is.
I did have it powered by the TV usb port, but also tried an external adaptor.
Has anyone got the AnyCast working with the Note 10?
Cheers
Steve
Next up was our new Amazon Firestick. The Note10 sees it, but won't connect to it.
Bummer
I tried the Amazon Firestick (V2/2019) today and it worked for some reason, but was intermittent. Eventually it magically worked, but full screen videos were choppy and sometimes the audio broke up. I notice that if I scrolled the screen, it was pretty laggy and once again, broke the audio up.
Then I changed the wifi on the Note 10 and Firestick from 2.4GHz to 5GHz and bob's yer uncle. Works fine with no delays, choppiness and audio is fine.
I've ordered another from fleabay as my wife gets upset when I plunder the TV for my projects. Can't think why....
I intend to use it with a PC monitor, so I'll be able to get the TV on it too. Life is good....
Well the fire stick arrived and it seems to work mostly fine. The old boot of a monitor I have doesn't have HDMI, so I used a HDMI->DVI adaptor which works.
The only issue is that the resolution is a little high and the monitor complains.
Is there any method of reducing the cast screen resolution that anyone knows?
Cheers
