after nvidia decided that every update they release should destroy another perfectly working feature, I am in the looks for a new streamer (currently lagging with NVIDIA SHIELD 2017)
Requirments are quite simple
Android TV UI (negotiable)
HDR / HDR10 Dolby Vision compaitable
full support of audio bitstreaming passthrough (atmos/DTS-HD 3d aurora etc)
sleek design (wife demands)
original Netflix support
price is not an issue, HDMI 2.1 support could be a nice bonus but not mandatory.
the best option I saw was GT-King Pro but it's not native android tv UI, I was just wondering if theres a better alternative.
thanks!
Xiaomi
Hello

I've been looking for over a month for a quad core Avdroid Tv stick or Box with an integrated DVB-T receiver but there is none on the market!
There lot's single and dual cores out there but if you want something more high end then you're out of luck!
Is there a way for an
Android TV box/Stick (exaple: K-R42 Quad Core Google Android 4.2.2 RK3188)
to support
a simple DVB-T dongle/stick/thingy? (example: Geniatech PT115m)
or just any kind of tuner?
Since there are lot's of tv tuner sticks out there for android tablets its logical that they could work on an android tv box or stick.
I'd be more than grateful if someone has the resources to test this out and share the results.
What are the compatible hardware?
How responsive actually is (if so working) tv browsing?
How about remote control, PVR, Timeshift, etc support?
Which app does this work with?
(Sorry for not posting links)

Wanna make a Media Center for my kid with XBMC and NAS.
Hi all,
I just received my CS968 last night and while everything works quite well, the interface for android is definitely built for touch. How do you work around this with only having a remote? Any apps you recommend?
For example, how do I drag/rearrange icons around on the "desktop"?
Are there alternatives to the stock launcher that's better for a media player device? TVLauncher 2.0 seemed to be the launcher everyone used but the developer seems to have abandoned it.
Also, apps like Hulu and Netflix seem to require switching to "mouse" mode on the remote to navigate or in the case of netflix, play a tv episode. Any suggestions for workarounds?
Thanks.

Exactly. Air mouse with keyboard is the key. F10 and RC11(personally use one) are IMO the best. Of course you can plug a keyboard and a mouse too.

Its posible to make zoom-in zoom-out (Like I can do with two simultaneus touch on a phone) ?
you can plug in a normal mouse in the otg usb port and use this as in a PC, you can drag zoom as you wish
A good thing about Android is that you have a more powerful system than what you get from an Apple TV, but sometimes all you want is a set-top box, that can be as simple to control as that Apple TV, My guess is that Android TV is more or less set up to be controlled exclusively with a remote, and that's what many of us really want.

Well, its what our wives want
Android on a tv using a remote/mouse thing isn't wife friendly. (no offence to female tech heads )

ok ,dear,i understand you ,and do you want duad core or quad core? And whether you have a demand and the RAM and ROM?:cyclops:
i have a few side by side 3d films that play perfectly fine on my cs918 (rk3188). i also use the vlc app to play the videos and my tv combines the 2 side by side videos to make 1 3d video
i got the CS918 with Bluetooth for £45 from Amazon. although it claims to be a 1.8ghz quad core its actually a 1.6ghz quad core although still runs very smoothly. 2gb ram, xmbc installed, wifidisplay installed and comes rooted with 4.2.2 but the is custom roms to take it to 4.4.2 if thats what you want

Does it cause your TV to switch to 3D without you having to do anything? I got an Android TV box to replace my Pi just to have a little more speed but the Android will not cause the TV to switch like the Pi does. I have to manually switch it. I went back to the Pi but would love to get the Android working as it is faster and has other apps and games.

my tv doesnt jump straight to 3d but it pops up with the 3d menu and asks me to pick whether its left & right 3d, top & bottom 3d or 2d to 3d conversion
1 bonus. if your tv supports 2d to 3d conversion then try it on GTA San Andreas. the game doesnt support 3d but my tv does an amazing job of making it look 3d. Mario Kart 64 running on an emulator also looks strangely good being converted to 3d.
