Little annoyances with WM 6.5

I just updated to Stock 6.5 from Stock 6.1. So far I really like the way it looks, but there seems to be some things missing.
1. I can't find the setting for "x" to close programs, so I am constantly opening task manager to close programs, otherwise they just run in the background.
2. I can't find the setting for "receive new e-mail as it comes in", so I have to manually do "send/receive" to check my hotmail.
3. Cool, there's a slide to unlock screen lock, oh wait, you have to manually set that too. I have it set to Long press end key, but still, I think it should be automatic when the screen shuts off.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

1. Taskmanager is now in Settings as an applet, you can also find the original one that drops down, saw it in the forums, do a search. Can't think where I saw it.
2. When you set up your email account, or even after, go to the following location:
Pocket Outlook > Menu > Tools > Options > pick your hotmail account > tap Send/Receive Schedule and set it to whatever time span you want.
Conversely, are you asking for Pushmail? for that you have to do the following:
Start > Settings > Comm Manager > turn on Direct Push option. From there you may have to configure your direct push based on your own needs/settings.
3. PocketShield is a usable option as are a number of other free locking options, check the forums. There's too many to give you a definitive answer as to which one you'll like.

I have a shortcut on my home screen for the task manager, but I would still rather have it like it was with 6.1 where you could choose to have the programs close when you press "x".

Thank you. I found the option for "as they arrive". That was driving me crazy.

AWESOME!! Works how I would've expected it to work in the first place. Thank You!

Have you tried changing the settings in start> settings > system > task manager on the buttons tab? That is where I find that "X" to close screen.

I have tried that and it still doesn't work. You still have to either remember to close it through the programs menu or through the task manager. I'm just glad I'm not the only one having that problem.

How do I get the clock to show up all the time in the new ROM? This is very frustrating to have to go to the home screen to see the time. Any one know if it's possible?

SK Tools allows you to do this. I think if you open up SK Tools and go to Tune Up! the System Tweaks settings page allows you to change it.

Settings > Menu (right soft key) > Advanced > Clocks and alarms > More > Show clock in title bar

Settings -> All Settings -> Clock & Alarms -> "More" tab -> check "Display the clock on the title bar in all the programs".

Flashing light...
Does anyone know how to extend the time that the little green light blinks after a new text message has arrived, or after a missed call? I found where you's normally change it in sounds and notifications...but the option is grayed out and it's set for 5 minutes. It'd be nice to have it blink a little longer if I miss a message coming in!

While I cannot tell you how to permanently fix this, I can tell you it happens to me as well. I guess for now we must go re-choose the lockscreen wallpaper whenever we fix permissions.

Adb pull framework-res and change the default lock wallpaper and the keyguard wallpaper to ones of your choosing. They are in res/hdpi.

How to fix lock screen glitch?
Hey guys.
Quick question. Hope this is a good forum for this question. Hopefully someone has the answer that I have overlooked.
Lockmenu is a very cool lock screen app(to me, anyway. I'm a noob so...). Gives very quick access from the lock screen to whatever apps you wish. Sort of like Shortcuts, but directly from a lock screen.
My problem is when I unlock from the main Unlock Slider on the bottom left, it takes me to the default lock screen on my Skyrocket.
How do I disable the default system lock screen?
There is no option in the settings to disable the default lock screen for those of you who might think its that simple.
Anyone else having this problem?
I have tried the Nolock app first to disable the default system lock screen, but...
So in other words I go through two lock screens most of the time. Once in awhile it will unlock to the home screen from the Lockmenu Unlock Slider as it is supposed to.
I'm running ICS rooted on Galaxy Skyrocket.
Any help is much appreciated.

I've been looking and looking and .... Guess I looked right past that option. I can be such an idiot sometmes.

Widgetlocker problem

So I installed Widgetlocker and used it for a bit but since then I wanted to go back to stock and uninstalled it.
The problem is when I was running Widgetlocker I picked an alternate wallpaper and now after uninstalling Widgetlocker the alternate wallpaper still appears on my lockscreen! How do I get rid of that?!?

app drawer > open personalize > Lock screen style > choose the first style which should be Wallpaper > before pressing on Apply, press Settings > Use custom wallpaper > Enjoy!

How to stop magazine wall paper on look screen?

I am trying to stop wallpaper change on look screen with no hope, each time when phone look change the wallpaper which i don't like, Any idea how to get rid of it? Please

Yes I did that and its unchecked, but still the same!

It's solved! The problem was because of the theme (Gold magazine), now change it to another theme without magazine.

setting > screen lock & password > screen lock style > don't choose magazine unlock

settings>screen lock and passwords>magazine unlock> turn off auto-update over wifi and turn on auto-delete

My phone seems to be the only different one. (Home screen menu outdated?)

I found this difference while I was browsing YouTube. Everyone else's phone says [Homescreen & Wallpaper] here, but only my one says [Home Screen & Lock Screen Magazine]. And it seems my version doesn't have a feature where you can hide an app's icon from home screen when you install it. First I thought my one might not be the latest version, but when I double checked it was up-to-date.
I don't know what's going on here, could anyone advise?

It says homescreen & wallpaper on mine. Make sure you run the latest software. Color os 7.1

Do you have the Chinese version (PDEM30)? Lock screen magazine is something you get on the Chinese version but you can enable / disable during setup. It's called LEHUA Lock Screen. I didn't think it was available on the global version.
