There is a beta tester programme which Google introduced some time around when Jelly Bean was launched. Franco allows users to test the new features which don't always work as its for testing purposes and to gain feed back before the regular app is released to the main public The beta application updates are managed through Google play store so when a new beta version is pushed you download it through the play store as a normal app update. Beta testing can only take place for downloads from Google Play Store not any other download site.

Thanks guys, that link wasn't there last time I checked? Must've gone public? I don't know... Anyway I've got the IMG, but how do I use it? Do I just flag it like a normal zip file? Do I wipe? Will it 'react'and cause problems with my current Franco kennel or will it just overwrite? Thanks for your help!

I'm afraid both OP and the rest here are wrong. The posted link is from 8.5.6 China STABLE. It is not global, but it is stable. It's in the official Downloads page from Xiaomi. There is also a version of this ROM made by Xiaomi.eu

8.5.6.0 China Stable was officially released yesterday. Xiaomi.eu have a 8.5.6.0 build but it's a day before this release, so is likely based on the Beta.
The official stable release could be the same as the beta, though. I'm downloading both now to do a diff and confirm this.
EDIT: Yes, the Xiaomi.eu stable 8.5.6.0 from 2 days ago is indeed the same as the official china stable.

Quick question regarding above mentioned version and issue I am having. Does 8.5.6.0 come with nougat? Because even after updating to it I am still on MM so I am kinda lost. I thought it should have upgraded to 7.0

Cameras are not focusing battery drain issues and lots more.

Holy crap? I thought they would have fixed it. I was using that build. Reverted to N for stable update and now they do this. I updated already.

If yes, which method worked for you?
I am on BKL-L09IC675 8.0.0.151
Not many people globally got it from what I read.
Anyway the official rollout starts this weekend so maybe best to wait a little longer.

Yes, hve been using fr more than a week. I had filled google form for beta testing and was informed through whtsapp group that i hve been assigned beta update.

Nothing in the members app about joining the beta program for me, but then again I knew it wouldn't work as I'm in a contract with EE (Everything Expensive)
The odds of finding someone in the UK who has a contract free Flip 3, who even knows about XDA, knows how to grab the link address before installing it and who could be bothered are pretty slim.
Plus you have to start from beta 1 then beta 2 and so on, so it looks like we've missed the boat.
