Has someone tested the audio quality of the Mi 4C?
I mean the earphones one during call and with music.
I would like to know if it is comparable with Htc One M8...
Thanks!
not tested the earphones, but the built-in speakers are very loud!!
Thank you kelkelkel, could you please tell me when you'll try the headphones?

Stereo or mono speaker?
Speaker or Headphones?
The mi4c has superb sound. My headphones (beyerdynamic tp51p) really become alive. You'll not be dissapointed.
Finally I've tested the phone and the audio is low and poor, in my opinion.
I've tried three pairs of earphones. I think it is worse than my old Moto G 2013.
Anyway installing Cyanogenmod the volume is good and the sound is more crystalline.
So the problem is the Miui software...
We are still very far from the quality of HTC or even iphone.
Equalizer, earphones enhancing are honestly not very useful. In Cyanogenmod instead the equalizer runs well.
Anyway the price of the phone is very good but I can not recommend the purchase to audiophiles users or those who want a particular quality of listening .

Stock? I've haven't found any earphones in the box.
Did you try to ear from Htc, S6 or iPhone? It is very different, I repeat, this is my opinion!
Didn't you noticed that the max volume is low yet?
I tend to agree with @HarryCustom, max sound quality is so so under miui even with the enhancements. No contest compared to my M8, both speakers or headphone. Waiting for sound mods when available since I have rooted it already.

I've installed that rom, but I think the mod is not working, the audio is low yet.
It was a problem anyway because I've decided to use Cyanogenmod, in my opinion is more stable than Miui...

Is that miui build more stable than the default Chinese one?
I am Italian, so I've received the phone with a modded stable rom with plenty of bloatware.
So I've flashed the Miui.eu rom and cooked Smiui.
I think all the roms are immature, but this a common problem when you buy a new android phone.
I've tested both Miui and Cyanogenmod for a week. In my opinion there are not so much difference in stability.
But maybe I excedeed saying that the other one is more stable, to tell the truth te only sure thing is that I think Cyano fits better for me.
I am sure only about one thing the sound is different and better with Cyanogenmod...
Are there any apps in the play store that can change the sound quality? Sounds like it has a lot of bass
Hi you can try Eizo Noozxoide, in my opinion is the best audio adjustment app.
Anyway if the audio is poor, is poor...

Here are some actual values for the Mi4C (Running the Chinese version of MIUI) and iPhone 6s, and as you can see they perform practically the same, but the iPhone is louder (not shown here) and the stereo crosstalk with Headphones attached is more than a bit disappointing. How is the sound better with CyanogenMod? In what way? Can you hear more distortion or worse dynamic range in compared to other phones? I'm waiting for my Mi4C to arrive, and I'm somewhat the audiophile (though that's not why I bought this phone, it just has the least amount of compromises for the price).

Hi xdadevet and sorry for my terrible English, I am not an audiophile, not at all. I tried both on Miui.eu, the last rom available, and Smiu with volume boost patch (that seems to be not useful) and I noticed more distortion and worse dynamic range than on CM12.1 Alpha.
Maybe my phone has some issues, but this is what I've noticed. It's not very difficult to understand that, I can't need to be an audiophile to say it: for expample on both miui I can keep the headphones in my ears even with the maximum volume and, the sound is distorted , unclean and weak. On CM the sound is crystal clear , the equalizer works well and the phone sounds a little better than my old Moto G (always on CyanogenMod), at maximum volume I'm forced to take off the headphones. I was hoping that the Mi 4C sounded better anyway!
Using the sound enhancement by Xioami (all the profiles are for Xiaomi earphone, any other earbud has to use the general one ) ths situation is the same, you can ear a bit better, but volume and distortion are the same. I've tried a pair of Blox, Edifier H110 and Baldoor E100.
Maybe with another type of headphones you can change the situation, but I think there are some problems in Miui management of audio, as the sound quality has to be the same on CyanogenMod.
To conclude, we are very far from HTC , just yesterday I made a comparison between listening Mi4c with CM and an One M7 , I'm sorry , there is no comparison...
The rear speaker instead is good, better than other phones even if the phone is resting on a table.
I hope new roms could solve this issue and also the touch one.
Hi Guys:
I been using Note 3 with first Stable Rom + Unlocked + Root + Vipersound last version. With it, i use earphones Piston 2, KZ ZS10 and KZ ZSR, so, very good pair of earphones.
I considerer myself a audiophile and i enjoy ear my music in detail as possible.
Problem:
I still own my old Oppo Find 7 (Snapdragon 801) with Wolfson DAC if not mistake, and also Vipersound, version 2.3.3.
As comparation......there isn`t any! Note 3 looks like a old tape cassete from 80`s ( and i own a good one with 3 heads), in comparative with my Oppo.
Sound is metallic, not natural, uncontrolled and the stage is very bad.....
Oppo has a amazing natural sound, from deep bass to treble and higs, great stage, everything is on the correct place. Infortunaly i dn`t have a cable jack to jack to make a record of one and other sound with the same music, so i can share and you get your own judgements...
Believe-me.....at this moment is very very bad. There is a gap of 4 years between one and other, but even so, im very disappointed to the point to think to sell this terminal.
At this moment, i have to use 2 phones: one for music, and the other to all the rest.
I am i missing anything here?

Try to flash Dolby Atmos, I am using it with Viper FX via Magisk. I think it sounds good this way.
Hi.
I already tryed Dolby Atmos, but Vipersound options and sound, are much better than Dolby. But i can try, what i have to loose?
Ok.
Installed Dolby, but the "base" sound is the same....lack of stage and transparency..... ((

hi. I noticed that if i touch my ears with the speaker of mi note 3 i can hear some kinda noise. it is very low, but i can hear only if it's to close.
Have you tried last miui? They said ldac support was been added even in bluetooth headset. Let us know.
the dac chip of mn3 is good but not that great.
But as an audiophile. I appreciate what this device brings me.
Maybe because im using first version of Global Stable?
Still sounds horrible....i have to update to Xiaomi.eu....and retry again.
Hi,
Everyone,
I`ve some quarries about the overall audio quality of OP6 and that`s why I just want to know about the audio quality (through Speaker and 3.5mm jack and obviously BT) - the overall audio quality of this excellent device.
Any improvement after the latest update?
Any experience/feedback/suggestion is highly appreciable.
IMHO without any sound mod like Viper4Android sound on OP6 is terrible as hell [emoji22]

Sound is terrible. I would recommend a Bluetooth dac, like the $99 earstudio.
You can actually get some pretty decent sound if your unlocked with Magisk using a combination of the "Viper FX" and the "Air Sauron" DSP modules. (You will need to install the "Audio Modification Library" module as well, as it is required for multiple DSPs to work simultaneously.) There are a couple of different threads in this forum where folks have shared their configs for the two.
Obviously no audio mod(s) will ever improve the sound as much as a good external DAC &/or amp will, but after tweaking the two aforementioned mods, the sound quality I get with my Sennheiser HD598s is just as good as what I've gotten with the stock DAC from any of my previous phones. Outside of the flagships by LG and Sony, the OP6's hardware DAC is at least as capable as most of the competition, if not more so. It only sounds terrible because the DSP is ****. (Dirac should be ashamed of themselves IMHO.). Even the sound quality I get with my external DAC (cEnterace DACPort v1) has noticeably improved after flashing the DSP mods.

Thanks for sharing the info. Excellent :good:.
That means if I install these audio mods, then only I can get a decent(excellent?) audio - right?
Now a straight question - should I go with OP6 Or Sammy`s S9 Plus?
I`m actually asking for OP6 because of it`s price - really excellent. :good:

I doubt the S9 has a better DAC than the OP6, although it may sound better stock due to its ' DSP. The Snapdragon version of the S9 has a locked bootloader, which means no custom DSP mods. Even though the S9 will probably sound better out of the box than the OP6, an OP6 with Viper FX and Air Sauron would be much better. Now if you live in a market that utilizes the Exynos variant of the S9, which can be unlocked and modded, I imagine the two will sound pretty similar when running the same modded DSPs. If you are looking for the phone with the best builtin hardware DAC and overtake sound quality, you'll want to go with LG. The Quad-DAC that LG uses in their flagships is the best audio hardware that you can get in a phone at this point in time. It also has a built in adjustable amp for each channel that can used with high impedance headphones. Sadly they're bootloader locked in the US, however no custom DSP mod is going to make an OP6 or a S9 sound as good as a v35S, at least not without external hardware.
I agree with @TuxRuffian. If you want really good sound straight or of the box you should buy LG (was going to do the same, but OP6 was MUCH cheaper). LG V30 can be rooted though, but I don't think it needs to be modded for better sound [emoji848] @TuxRuffian could you share your V4A profile along with Sauron config?

Perhaps you know that recent sammy`s flagships have some issues with rooting and modding (functionality of Knox, Samsung Pay, Secure Folder, Samsung Health will be gone and most important - camera portrait mode (i.e. secondary lens becomes unusable). And the battery backup of the exynos version of S9+ is really an issue (as I`ve read). But I think there are no such issues with OP6 - right? So I can install these audio mods easily in OP6 and get better sound - right?
And the price of OP6 is also a very important thing (at least to me ).
BTW, as a user of OP6, what`ll be your overall feedback - should I go with this one?
Thank you once again for sharing.
I've switched from Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and I do not regret not a single day. The only thing I miss sometimes is the SPen but I'll get used to lack of it [emoji6] OP6 is a beast- I would say go for it [emoji847]

I am using oneplus 6 for more than 2 weeks now, coming from S9+ exynos . Comparing out of the box, S9+ has way better audio quality in terms of headphone or loudspeaker. Not that i really care about the headphone cause i rarely listen to music or video using headphone/earphone. But the phone speaker in oneplus6 is terrible that it makes me miss my s9+ alot.
Off topic, here are my "what's better on this than that" that affects me
S9+ exynos
- better camera
- better speaker (dual speaker, dolby atmos - very loud and clear)
- beautiful curved display with no notch
- expandable microsd slot
Oneplus 6
- better software (blazing fast, hands down)
- easy and fun to tweak
- much better battery life (although s9+ has bigger battery)
- super fast charging
On a side note, wireless charging doesnt really bother me coz i never use it. The main reason i went for oneplus6 is the SD845 + software. So if u really just want good speakers just go for s9+. If u just want a good audio quality through the audio jack, u can still achieve that with viper and sauron mod on oneplus 6.
Hope my opinion helps!
Does the ultra wide camera mode cause a fisheye look?
Does Netflix support hdr on the device?
What is the audio like? Say compared to say note 9 Atmos AKG tuned speakers?
Thanks

1) You can switch on/off correction for that in the stock camera app.
2) It does. Netflix even came preinstalled on my device.
3) Can't compare to the Note 9, but compared to the Pixel 2XL I'll consider them an upgrade.
Hello Community!
I would like to ask if any of you was able to try usb-c headphones with OnePlus 7 Pro? I want to know about sound quality is it better/worst than 3.5 jack or bluetooth? What headphones did you test and what are your experiences?
I use Sony MDR 1000x bluetooth over ear headphones as my daily drivers but want to have some backup headphones specially when it is to hot outside to use over ear ones.
I was thinking about Xiaomi Mi ANC & Type-C since it has some good reviews.
Thanks for any answer.

I bought a pair of KZ ES4 used them with the 3.5m adapter from 6T didn't sound that good at all I ordered the Type C addon cable and it improved the loudness and sound quality was much better.
So far I'm impressed with the sound quality over Type C for such a low cost and with Dolby Digital Plus and V4A can tweak it too my liking.
