I have mx player installed and it integrates perfectly and I can play the videos from within the app.
This is really really REALLY great. I use youtube-dl and FFMPEG on my desktop a LOT. I have always wanted an app just like this. I immediately paid to remove ads.
Do you think you could give it "Share" functionality, so you can Share a link to PowerTube from another app? For example: on reddit, most videos are DASH (very annoying). If I am in the Reddit app and see a video, I click Share, PowerTube is one of the options, and it will send the URL directly to PowerTube, which will then download it?

I've dried downloading a Twitch VOD and it's in the queue infinitely, the download isn't happening.
UPD: Spoke too soon, it just took many minutes to begin the download.

There's one called 'Newsr' that's very similar.

Great app.
The only problem I see is that is doesn't scale down images that are bigger than the viewing pane - you have to scroll around them.
Will be buying the paid version when that is fixed

The only problem with Newsr (and any other Google Reader on the market) is that they don't allow you to manage (i.e. add and remove) feeds.
A good, honeycomb-optimized, full-fledged RSS reader (so, adding and removing stuff included) would be great... Pulse is fine, but too graphics-intensive for my taste...

Yup I have the newest flash version. And flash works fine on all other pages. Even if i just go to Youtube.com in the browser it works fine.
But when I click on a youtube link in Reddita it brings be to the HTML5 version of youtube and the video wont play.

Same problem. I can open the link in the dedicated YouTube app and it plays fine there though

The next update will fix the youtube problems, some other bugs and provide a new ad network so you should see more relevant ads if you're using the free version. I'll also put in any other bug fixes and things I have the time to do.

Hello XDA, I'm the developer of a new Android app called Billy. It lets you browse and listen to the most popular pop/rock/dance songs currently.

The songs list is grabbed from Billboard.com, which is one of the most credible sources in song popularity charts. Songs are then streamed from SoundCloud. Quite nice. Note: There are several of these on Play with more feeds, but awaiting more feeds here. UI is quite navigable.
Since the screen is quite sparse, used Xposed Appsettings to show more songs. Lower "DPI" and magnified font size to compensate so still readable. However, tab-bar now covers half of the title bar. So ... might suggest the number of songs/pane be adjustable and scaled within the app rather than from outside (anyone tried this using Paranoid's DPI settings?).
Might also embed a simple youtube player rather than rely on that app being around (since there are alternatives and many of us do not keep it).

I'm supporting your app, I'm even going to recommend it to my small reader base of a local spanish Android blog we're starting, hope it gets you a bit more users and constructive feedback.
My Opinion: Is pretty good as a discovery app, I'm having no errors luckily. A way for autoplaying the sections (playlist?) would be nice. I also backup the Deezer/Rdio/Spotify linking idea. Great job man! I like your app.

Yes, it happens with a few songs because SoundCloud is not providing MP3s for them. I'm trying to fix this.
Next, I think I made a bad generalization that everyone will have the official YouTube app. I'll have to fix this one too.

WHOOPS:silly:I didn't see that and i too use xposed appsettings...but i keep my phone's default dpi at 145 then upscale systemui.apk and nova launcher to 160 . then its all ok but it cuts the actionbar text for only billy when i enable expanded mode

I have been testing it for a couple of months now, on 2 devices - phone and tablet -, in parallel with the official YouTube and YouTube downloader.
I am very impressed! And thank you for making it adfree.
A few observations:
* SnapTube listens to all requests for web access. This is very annoying, as I keep getting prompted whether I want to open Chrome or SnapTube everytime an application launches a weblink. This needs to be more tightly controlled and restricted.
* Is there anyway to download videos in higher res than 720p (YTD can do it)?
* Does it automatically skip YouTube adverts (I do not know since I use xposed YouTube AdAway module)?
I love this app!!! I have only one question... why is not possible to change the download directory?? it would be a great new feature!!!

App is really awesome, exactly what I was looking for.
I just want that I can specify which path on SD card to download.
Other than that marvelous job, keep up.
Almost perfect, the two only things I didn't like about it are that it's always running in background and it always appears like and option to open a web link with my browser, even when isn't a YouTube URL, just a normal website link. But in general it's awesome.
Very fast but no 1080p selection but 720p is OK though you can get 1080p on tubemate.. I like this one (fast).. Planet Earth is 1080p

Lets you control the music from your edge.
How?
1. Download and install the app
2. Go to the edge overview panel and open up the configuration page for the new installed panel (click the pen)
3. Click the button ("change notification permission")
4. Allow "Edge Player" to get access to your notification (If you don't trust me you can clone the project and build your own version)
5. Return. Now the checkbox "Notification Access" should be checked.
6. Enable the panel If you updated from a previous version, you have to disable and reenable the panel. A restart might also be necessary
7. Start your favorite music app and control it from the side

Thanks! Did you post an update to the first app posted? If so I'll download that and test it out. Currently on the dropbox link you posted a couple days ago, the control buttons on the bottom work great, but tapping anywhere else on the Edge Panel does not launch the app.

Try deleting app data for the edge player itself.
For me that helped.

Gives me album art bit controls dont work on PowerAmp. This is after reboot...
Would be cool to swipe album art up or down to volume up or down...
Edit: started to work suddenly...

hey bro I have updated to the new version and in terms of function everything is fine but I noticed that it does not use all my speed when downloading and it is only with this app, will it be a server problem? (my connection downloads at 3.8MB/s and downloading video only reaches 250Kbs)

Except Tiktok all social network downloads are directly from their respective server that is Instagram - instragram.com
Twitter - twitter.com

App was removed from Playstore
I didn't use any official logo, icons branded content still they removed due to trademark issue. Don't know what to do.
i think you need to remove the app icons from other apps. Thats exactly what they are saying

Yeah i seen them
So only removed all brand icons and replaced with just letter.
Download the new version (you can see the modified icons)
