Managed to root but cannot update - Sony Xperia XZ Premium Questions & Answers

Hi!
Xperia ZXP was running the official Firmware fine. Then, I just decided to root. I followed this video:
Got my phone properly rooted.
Now I keep getting notification of an update that I had before but cannot install it. Also, I cannot setup my company work profile as it detects root.
I mainly wanted to use Cheat Engine that why I rooted.
How do I apply latest update?
How do I hide root status?

Download Flashtool and latest version of Xperifirm. Find latest firmware with Xperifirm. Should end in .107. Download it and decrypt it with Flashtool. Download Newflasher. Unzip Newflasher into the folder you have the decrypted files. Plug your phone into your computer. Make sure you have the correct driver. Developer option and usb debugging enabled on your phone. Put phone into flash mode and hit newflasher.exe and choose "n" for the first two choices and let it run. That will give you the latest and final update for this phone.
Now use twrp to install the latest Magisk version(search online), also have Magisk manager app(Play Store) on your phone. Once that's done and you've rebooted phone open Magisk Manager and select the menu in upper left corner and go to Magisk Hide and if there's the option to hide whatever app that is detecting root and causing problems, select it and it should no longer detect root. If the problem app is not shown then I don't know. I believe there is a Magisk Module that may be less app specific and hide Magisk from everything.

Here is how I'm going step by step:
Download Flashtool - Done
latest version of Xperifirm - Done
Find latest firmware with Xperifirm. Should end in .107 - Done
-- Download it - Done
-- decrypt it with Flashtool - Stuck
Download Newflasher - Done
-- Unzip Newflasher into the folder you have the decrypted files
Plug your phone into your computer
-- Make sure you have the correct driver - Done
-- Developer option and usb debugging enabled on your phone - Done
Put phone into flash mode and hit newflasher.exe
-- choose "n" for the first two choices and let it run
-- That will give you the latest and final update for this phone
I'm stuck at the decryption part... I downloaded the correct firmware for my phone and it is quite a load of files. But, the decrypt tool in Flashtool finds nothing to decrypt

You have to select the location. Click on Tools, then Bundles, then FILEset Decrypt. On the line where it says source folder there's a small box on the end. Click it and from there go to your harddrive, users(you), flashtool, firmware, downloads and there you will find the firmware that you just downloaded. Click on it and that should unpack the firmware. Then select all the files to convert. That will place the converted files in the same location as the firmware. Don't bother with removing the .ta files. Do create the partition folder. See link below.
http://www.xperiablog.net/2018/01/2...mware-for-xperia-xz-premium-xz1-and-more/amp/
The above link will take you through all the above steps. You will lose user data. You can remove the USERDATA X Flash ALL and that should save your data but no guarantees.

The latets Xperifirm also extract right after downloading so the decrypt step is not needed.
I'm flashing a I write. I'll be dealing with the next part now:

open Magisk Manager and select the menu in upper left corner and go to Magisk Hide and if there's the option to hide whatever app that is detecting root and causing problems, select it and it should no longer detect root.

TWRP has to be flashed or installed from store?

Was going to attach the file but had upload issues. What you want is twrp 3.3.1-0-maple.img. Once you have that put phone in fastboot mode ( volume up while plugging phone into computer) then go to the place you downloaded the above ( unzip it to a folder that also contains adb and fastboot unless you have that installed system wide). Open a powershell or cmd window inside that folder and type: fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-0-maple.img. that'll open twrp on your phone in recovery. Then you can flash Magisk and that'll root your phone. I'm typing this from memory. I believe I have that right. If you want to install twrp on the phone itself umm, I believe you flash the .IMG file to recovery partition. You'll need to have both those files in your phone. Let me know if I got that right. If it doesn't work, no worries, just start over. These phones are hard to brick; believe me, I know.

I have downloaded the TWRP image and I have the android platform tools as well. Right now, my mobile is working with the latest ROM from Xperifirm and I'm not sure about root status. It was rooted before I did the firmware update. It is latest now and no app is complaining.
Current status:
- OEM Booltloader unlocked
- USB Debugging ON
Question:
- I need to know will if I'll lose all data on the phone?
- If I use the fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-0-maple.img command, phone wil have TWRP as recovery and will be in this recovery mode? I need to copy Magisk (apk?) already on the phones hardrive so I can install from there?

If you didn't lose data in upgrading the firmware you won't lose it installing Magisk. Using TWRP from your computer does not install it. It only puts you into recovery using TWRP as the menu. If you want to have it installed you need to flash the .img file to the recovery partition while in TWRP. All this does is eliminate the need to use a computer every time you want to use TWRP.
You more than likely lost root when flashing the new firmware. So Magisk apk is the manager app. You also need to have Magisk 20.4 as a zip file in your phone. When in TWRP select mount and make sure the location where the zip is is selected. Then go back and select install and then go to the location of the zip, select it and slide the slider and it will install. Go back to main menu and power off. People like to wipe and reboot, I find not wiping if you don't have to works for me along with powering off and then restarting the phone.

Mission accomplished.
I did all this so that I can use Cheat engine to chat in some silly games plus a few simple ones I made with Unity. Turns out, Cheat Engine fails to show running apps to select from... what a trip...

Everything works perfectly. All apps working with root and Magisk is hiding root from required apps. Cheat Engine is working with Root. After that, the issue is with Cheat Engine. It is not working as expected. I see an emty Apps list and cannot fing the game I want to cheat in even when it is running. This is off topic as the thread is now complete. Just saying I didi all this for a dissapinting app.

Oh well, at least you got it updated and working. Maybe it'll take some searching somewhere else to get that other stuff worked out.
Just a side note; I used to work for Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum at his Throughbred operation in Lexington.

Excuse me, does anyone know how to root xz premium docomo ubl no ??? Now on Android 9 Pie, please help.

I believe the Japan market version can't have the bootloader unlocked, thus, no root.

https-://image.ibb.co/dMJve5/20170821_082847.jpg
Notes:
Before you get started, you will need access to Developer options. Got to About phone on Settings and click on your Build number till you get a notification stating that you've gained access to this options.
After that, enable both OEM unlocking and USB debugging to unlock the bootloader and gain permission to transfer downloaded files from your PC to your phone via the charging cable.
If your software firmware is 6.0.1-01003, don't update your system to be safe since that I haven't tested installing TWRP on a updated firmware.
Tutorial:
To get started, you will need to download this .img file which contains a flashable TWRP 3.0.2-0 that is unofficially supported for the Alcatel Pop 4 and import it to your device.
https-://uplo.adfi.l.es.io/x.9h.18
In order to flash the TWRP .img image, you will need to gain access to temporary root and in order to do that, you'll need to install KingRoot. To install it, enable Unknown sources if disabled then visit the site below to download and install it.
https-://kingroot.net/
You should see something like this.
https-://ufile.io/491p5
Download SuperSU's Latest .ZIP file below (Should be V2.82 as of 21/08/17)
s.upersu.com/download
Its normal if your phone reboots during the process. Just make sure that you quickly unlock your phone and return to KingRoot to continue the process after your device has rebooted.
After you have successfully rooted your phone, you will need to install Flashify in order to flash the TWRP image I provided you with. The link to install Flashify is below.
https-://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.flashify
Since that the temporary root that came with KingRoot is very unstable with the Pop 4, be very gentle navigating through the phone for the time being or your device may reboot and you will need to reroot with KingRoot again.
Open the Flashify app, grant root permissions, go to Recovery image then click on choose a file. After that find the downloaded TWRP that I provided you with, click and it and select YUM! (Meaning yes) to flash TWRP. After it has flashed TWRP, it should give you the option to reboot into TWRP.
Once your booted into TWRP, swipe right to gain access to read and write privileges and make sure you check the box above so you don't have to do that again.
Click Wipe, Format Data then enter "yes" without the quotations of course then press the blue button on the bottom right of the on screen keyboard to format the device.
After the device is formatted go back instead of rebooting, press the on screen back button then install and find the SuperSU .ZIP you've downloaded then swipe right to flash. After flashed, clear cache then reboot.
After it has rebooted, set up the device as if it was new then after set up you should see that you've got SuperSU in your app list.
To access TWRP in the future, hold power button and up volume button till TWRP boot screen loads up.
I will upload a test video showing me using my rooted Pop 4 soon.
I have edited the links so they wouldn't be detected by xda since i'm not allowed to post any links as of right now since i'm using a new account.

Japanese S7 Edge SCV33/SC-02H Magisk root and other tweaks!

This thread is for Japanese s7 edge scv33 that’s being booted up with SC-02H firmware after carrier unlocking.
This guide covers/ will help you
• Install Latest available Twrp recovery (Caution: will Trip Knox!)
• Magisk Root
• Remove Japanese carrier bloatwares.
• Make the default device language to English.
• Install latest available updates via default or, will add additional useful Samsung apps (will update the device stock apps like SMS, Touch wiz launcher, AOD, Contacts, etc to latest available.
• Various tweaks like sms delivery options turned on by default, always on display turned on by default etc-etc.
Overall, this guide is to help your Japanese S7 Edge scv33/SC-02H to look more like a standard international model.
So let’s begin.
Step 1:
All required files can be downloaded from here
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1XElzbRcvlqf1CXjGK8Oiu6rmlnAvcphY
Caution. Backup all of your personal data. This process will need you to factory reset or will erase all of your data including your personal photographs, apps, videos etc.
You will also require to have a fresh piece of sd card (16 gb or more recommended) to store the twrp nandroid backup if anything goes wrong.
So, First, you will need to remove the modifications that were made to your device stock boot image. If you have flashed the modified kernel or have rooted using super-su, then, you will need to undo all the changes. You can flash the stock boot image file only but I would recommend you to flash the whole latest firmware that you can find easily over UPDATO Firmware website to start better all over again.
Here is the link to the latest SC-02H android 7.0 firmware:
http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=AD3D69507E2D11E7963AFA163EE8F90B
Download and extract it. You will find 5 files. You can ignore the HOME……. file. Flash the 4 firmware file using latest Odin.
After flashing, let it boot up. Finish the setup wizard and turn off the device.
Step 2:
Flash the TWRP that you downloaded from here. Download Link is same as above.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1XElzbRcvlqf1CXjGK8Oiu6rmlnAvcphY
Twrp Bug: Device will reboot to twrp recovery if you choose to power down the phone from recovery option. You will have to choose “Reboot System” from twrp menu to solve this.
After installing, boot into twrp recovery. Go to Wipe and at the bottom right, you will have option to format data. Perform a Format data process. Then, make a TWRP backup to your sd card.
I repeat. Make a backup. This will help u a lot if anything goes wrong
Step 3:
Time to install magisk.
Extract root.zip file and there you’ll see magisk.zip
Flash this magisk installer file from twrp and reboot the device.
Install the latest magisk manager app apk.
Now your device is rooted with the latest magisk available.
Step 4:
Time to remove the bloatwares.
You will need ES file manager and System app remover from playstore.
Grant super-user access to both apps. Navigate to device/system/preloadFactoryResetOnly using es file manager and delete all the contents inside that folder.
Download the apps.zip file from here
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1XElzbRcvlqf1CXjGK8Oiu6rmlnAvcphY
Extract it to your pc. Copy all the extracted apps including their folder to your device and paste it inside the same path i.e, device/system/preloadFactoryResetOnly folder.
Important: You will need to change the copied each app file permission to RW-R-R.
You do-not need to change the folder’s permission. But you will need to change the each apk’s permission one by one. Long press on the apk and then go to properties. Tick mark on (read-write, read, read).
But there will still remain some Japanese DoCoMo bloatwares. You will not be able to remove it by simply using system app remover.
So, use the system app remover app to track down the bloatware’s location by long pressing and delete it by using es file manager. Remember, only delete the bloatwares that are found in device/system/priv-app and device/system/app folders.
Caution:
You do-not need to super trim down your system in hopes for getting more internal space or whatsoever by deleting the bloatwares that you don’t know. Just delete the DoCoMo apps that you can see in the app drawers.
So be aware.
Factory reset after the above step.
Step 5:
Now comes the last part:
CSC Tweaks:
Download the 3 modified csc files from above link. Copy and replace them to path device/system/csc
Change the copied file permission to (rw-r-r).
To change the default device language and set the sms delivery option on by default, copy the Customer.xml file to your pc and edit it by using Notepad++.
Find the line as shown as in the picture below and modify as in it. Save it and replace it back to where it was from which will be device/system/csc and change its file permission again to rw-r-r.
Now turn off your device and boot into TWRP recovery. Perform a factory reset and reboot.
You will have latest apps with all the custom changes including your default language changed to English.
No need to install magisk manager apk as it is already there in the apps.zip folder.
Done!
Credit goes to all the rightful owners.
Special thanks to Mr. Buddha Tuladhar again for the phone.

Is it necessary to flash 2017.03.07_SC02HOMU1BQC4 and 2017.04.07_1BQC4_Gobal_ManhIT.zip ? Or can i just simply flash the latest firmware 2017.12.12_SC02HOMU1BQL3 and root my phone?
Thank you, great job on compiling all this! It took quite a bit of study, but I understand now. Thanks again.
This root works.. but it kills NFC and Beam, Is that a known issue?
I tried this out about 15-20 different times this weekend. I was trying to get obtain root without losing NFC or Beam. (I need NFC on a daily basis).
Galaxy S7 Edge SC-02H (Docomo)
I have no problem installing TWRP. I can get root by either SuperSU or Magisk. Both kill NFC though.
I have tried so many different procedures.
1) Flash stock room (see below *) using Odin 3.12.3 and 3.12.5 (.5 works better)
As soon as installation was complete, I tested out NFC to make sure it works. It does. Then configured Developer options.
2) Then install TWRP (3.1.1 and 3.2.1) via Odin 3.12.5
3) Format then wiped (I also tried wipe without formatting)
4) Installed Magisk via TWRP. (I tried SuperSU as well)
5) Rebooted to system. I also tried Wiped cache, then reboot to system.
6) Once booted up, the first thing I did was check and see if NFC or Beem work. No.
Next I installed Magisk Manager app. I tried the one posted here. Also tried updating to the latest. And also tried installing the latest version of Magisk first.
I tested out root by using ES explorer and opening up the root directory. It worked.
I checked to see if NFC or Beam worked afterwards.. no.
7) Deleted bloatware. Followed this post's Step 5 exactly as is. Root stilled worked. NFC still didn't work.
So as much as I tried.. is it a known that NFC will not work if rooted?
* Firmwares tried:

SC02HOMU1BRE1
SC02HOMU1BQL3
SC02HOMU1CRH5 (8.0)
SC02HOMU1BQC5 (Travis82's Nougat firmware)

They all worked. I had originally started working with 3.1.1 and 3.2.1. However, I tried the latest 3.2.3 because I couldn't get NFC to work. I did it just to give it a try.
But all three versions that I listed had no problem installing.
Are you having trouble installing TWRP?
Yes, recovery is not remplace
Will you have a link and instructions for Android 8?
How to install TWRP on Galaxy S7 Edge (SC-02H)
TWRP Installation:
1) Download and installed Odin 3.12.5 (or the latest)
2) Turn off phone. Pressed and hold Volume Down+Home+Power at the same time to get to Download Mode. Once you see the Download Mode page, let go of the buttons. Press Volume Up to accept. (To cancel, press Volume Down )
3) Open Odin and click on AP. Load the TWRP file from your computer.
4) On the second tab of Odin, uncheck "Auto-reboot" (you need to have auto reboot disabled in order to successfully install TWRP). Press 'Start'.
5) Once the Odin status changes to a green "Pass", the installation is complete.
At this point, your phone will still be in Download Mode screen. For this step only, you will need to do two steps back to back. First, press and hold Vol.Down+Home+Power in order to get the phone out of the Download Mode screen.
As soon as the screen changes, press Volume UP+Home+Power.
You will see TWRP load.
That's it. You have successfully loaded TWRP.
From here on out, you will need to press Vol. Up+Home+Power in order to boot into TWRP. If you reflash your phone back to stock firmware using Odin, you will lose TWRP and will need to repeat these steps in order to install TWRP again.

This thread is for Japanese s7 edge scv33 that’s being booted up with SC-02H firmware after carrier unlocking.
I need help in order to compile all of these tweaks into an Odin flashable file so that users can simply flash it and make the changes.I would also like to add App-lock feature and international Samsung keyboard with secondary symbol in but can’t seem to make it work. So, if you are interested or have tried, please let me know.....

* Firmwares tried:
SC02HOMU1BRG1
SC02HOMU1BRE1
SC02HOMU1BQL3
SC02HOMU1CRH5 (8.0)
SC02HOMU1BQC5 (Travis82's Nougat firmware)
SC02HOMU1BQC5 (the one posted on this thread)

I am also struggling about this. I think the problem only concerns TWRP or Root. However I think the problem is TWRP, because when I flash stock rom, nfc ok. Next, i flash TWRP (not root yet), nfc has been disabled now. So i think TWRP causes this problem. However, if i reflash stock recovery, everything remains unchanged, NFC is still turned off. so it is very contradictory.
Now I think of a test, after installing all (root), backing up all android. Then flash again with stock rom, check NFC. Finally, restore the backup. The goal is to completely remove the TWRP from the process but still root the device. I hope it will work. Will try if i have the time

[How-To] Root (Ulefone Armor 6)

Background:
So, I recently bought the, “Ulefone Armor 6” Android phone. I didn't do much research into rooting the phone before I bought it, however tonight I did and couldn't find any solution. So I made my own.
Disclaimer:
I am not responsible if you damage, brick, or willingly alter your phone in any way shape or form blah blah blah, you get the point.
Prerequisites:
Make sure you have drivers installed, here.
Rooting process:
1. Obtain a local copy of the, “boot.img” file from the stock rom archive, which can be found on the, “Ulefone” website.
2. Download the compressed file of your choice, "EU" or "Non-EU." (Ex. I downloaded the one for, "Non-EU" which is, "Armor_6_RF1_V01_user_20190329.tar.gz")
3. Extract the downloaded file in the location of your choice, using your favorite archive extractor (7-zip, winzip, winrar, etc...)
4. To begin the root process, Download the android app or .apk file "Magiskmanager.apk" from the Magisk Manager website, and install it in your, Armor 6 device. (Note: the Play Store does not have the, Magisk Manager app.)
5. Now pass the, "boot.img" file downloaded earlier from your computer to your Armor 6 device. Place the "boot.img" file preferably in the "downloads" folder of your Armor 6 device.
6. Open up the Magisk Manager app, and click, "install 19.3" (or what ever is the current version is) then click, "Select and Patch a File".
7. Locate your, "boot.img" file you placed in your downloads folder, and patch it with Magisk Manager. (Note: This step will create another file named, "Magisk_patched.img" in your device.)
8. After Magisk Manager has patched your file, pass the patched file from your downloads folder, back onto your computer. (Note: Not necessary but customary, to rename the patched file to, "boot.img")
9. Now, in your Armor 6 phone, go to your settings, scroll down to system click it, click on about phone, and then tap the crap out of build number, until you have become a developer.
10. Go back from about phone, click on developer options, and tick on "OEM unlocking." also scroll down and tick, "USB debugging."
11. Download ADB tools with fastboot from Android/Google.
12. With the phone connected to the computer, open up the folder where ADB is located in command prompt and type, "adb reboot bootloader"
13. Now that you are in fastboot mode, type the following prompts into the command. (NOTE: the following commands will WIPE your phone clean to stock, so backup any important files/documents before you wipe.)
fastboot oem unlock
OR (if the first one fails, try the second one)
fastboot flashing unlock
14. Once you have unlocked your bootloader, reboot the phone, "fastboot reboot", wait till the phone boots up, go through the setting up process, enable USB debugging again (Step 13), install magisk manager again, and "adb reboot bootloader" in adb command prompt.
15. Once in fastboot mode again, flash the patched, "boot.img" file. (Note: This command will not wipe your device.)
fastboot flash boot boot.img
16. Reboot the phone once more, open up magisk manager, and enjoy root.
A lot of steps yes, but simple easy to do.
Note: that the basis of my instructions on telling you what to do is my assumption of you the end user having basic if not full knowledge of what I am talking about. Because I wont be providing help for basic knowledge, if that makes sense. I do not plan on making a video as this tutorial is mainly meant for users who already know what of the majority they are doing with the tools they are using. If anyone wants to make a video feel free to share it here, I will added to the thread. thanks!
UPDATE 1.0:

Then this isnt for you and stick with stock... Stock honestly works just certain people want greater freedom with thier phones only issue is with that you yourself at greater risk of breaking something and wouldn't know how to fix it and in situations like that factory restores wouldn't even save you because the system partition doesn't go back to the way it was with a factory restore

I understand and accept the risk. I'm asking if this is a legit fix or some attempt to put malware on my phone.

Well to start with, I didn't attach anything in this thread, only photos.
1. You bought the phone, a phone that is made from a Chinese company, odds are that it already has malware, backdoors, or things you don't want on the OS.
2. Like I said, I didn't attach anything for you to download, so I am not infecting you with anything. Fastboot even comes with Google SDK.
3. Magisk is a wide known group who release root for the public to download/install. Just like TWRP, clockworkmod, cynaogenmod, etc...
4. If you don't feel comfortable doing this process, then like stated above, you should probably feel safer staying with stock & no root.
As I am sure, everyone who mod their devices are fully aware of the consequences of exploiting their devices. Brinking, killing, or messing something up.
Cheers.
For the life of me I cannot get the drivers to install. I've tried on Windows 10 and 7, but can't get fastboot to recognize the device. ADB works just fine, but Windows won't recognize the device when in recovery. I tried the official Ulefone drivers for Windows 10 and 7, as well as the MTK/VCOM usb drivers through manual installation.. How did you get it working? What other drivers are you using?

I have literally used the "driver installer" from the Ulefone website. Install the MTK/VCOM Drivers.
Adb gets detected in TWRP & Fastboot is found on my computer just fine.
My suggestion would be to check if your anti-virus (if you have one) if it's blocking the drivers from being installed.
Ps: I have the latest Windows 10 1903 x64 Edu and the drivers work perfectly.
Will try at end of month and tell you guys the result later.
Hi!!!
Thanks for the tutorial. I managed to root my Ulefone Armor 6.
Just one thing, maybe it will be nice to add in the tutorial (suggestion): Magisk generates another boot.img file, called magisk_patched. That is the one to be used on step 17 (rename it before).
One question. If I do a factory reset, will the phone remain rooted? Can't remember for the life of me from past roots I've done.

Oh most definitely. I am actually going to add more detail to this tutorial once I have the free time to do so. This tutorial was mainly supposed to be like a rough idea on how to do it. However yes, I did a factory reset not to long ago and root was maintained.
Update:
Added more information and cleaned the thread up.
Well, IDK if that's a common understanding or even if it's going to happen to everybody but.. Ulefone released an software update that undid the root and reinstalled every single native app that I had uninstalled. I tried rooting again, buuut they did not put the new rom in their website yet, so my phone got stuck in boot XD. So I reinstalled the ROM available using SP Flash Tool (thank god that worked, lost some information but that's fine).
I'm not sure if I'm going to root it again when they release the ROM in the website.. I wanted root so I could make Cerberus an native app, but even though I can do it, if the phone is reset Cerberus loses my account information, so it is no use to me.
English is not my native language, but I guess that's pretty understandable
@edit: They did not release the new rom in the official website.. I did not look into the Mega or Drive link actually.

Yeah, I think their new rom has a few security updates as well as other updates.
I haven't updated as of yet, because I fear I will lose root. However if I ever do, I'll update everyone if successful.

Hello it's been a while.
I have updated to the latest version by Ulefone for our Armor 6's.
Version: 2019.06.05.
I was able to root it again, using the same method in this thread.
As for the native apps, I haven't tried to remove them, however I am sure it is possible to.

To put the phone in manual fastboot mode, you have to power off your device first. By pressing both, "power button + volume down button" until you feel the phone vibrate.
Once the phone vibrates, quickly press, "Power button + volume up button" to view the fastboot/recovery/normal boot menu options. To select fastboot use the volume buttons.
Volume up = select
Volume down = move down through options.
Hi!
Oh I tried it once more now and managed to do it.
I did it with the ROM from Mega (20190605).
Thanks again!

[Guide]How to root Samsung Galaxy C9 pro (SM-C9000)

Hi! After struggling in rooting my C9 pro (SM-C9000, TGY) due to the lack of a proper guide, I decided to provide my guide to the community.
Of course, I don't take responsibility for damages etc. etc. Read the entirety of the guide before doing anything.
Useful shortcuts: Holding down power+volume down for a couple seconds force reboots from almost anywhere. Vol up+home+power while booting boots into recovery. Vol down+home+power boots into download (odin) mode.
Step 1) Fetch the required files(sorry I can't post direct links):
Nougat 7.1.1 firmware from sammobile
Oreo 8.0 firmware from sammobile
Odin https://www.xda-developers.com/update-firmware-any-samsung-phone/
Magisk Manager https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-magisk/ (The link that says "Download the latest Magisk Manager APK here")
ADB https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/
CROM Service apk from apkmirror
Step 2) Prepare the files
Unlock developer options on your phone by spamming Build Number in Settings> About Phone> Software Information. Enable USB debugging from developer options. Connect your phone to your PC via cable. Extract ADB (platform-tools) on your desktop (or other location). Extract Oreo firmware. There should be 5 files. Copy the one that starts with AP into platform-tools folder. Open the platform-tools folder. Hold down shift and right click inside the folder. Choose "Open PowerShell window here" from the context menu. Type or copy-paste
Code:
.\adb devices
to start ADB. On your phone, check "always allow on this PC" and click OK when prompted. Enter the code again and check if a device appears on the list. Then type
Code:
.\adb push AP_C9000ZHU1CSC1_CL14667562_QB22709761_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT_meta.tar.md5 /sdcard/
.(Change the name of the file corresponding to yours. You can change the destination to another folder in your phone. Ex. /sdcard/download/) This will transfer the file from your PC to your phone. Do not drag and drop the file. This might corrupt it, causing a bootloop upon installiation. (Happened to me initially. Recovered & used the push command to get it to work.). Transfer Magisk Manager's apk to your phone or download it directly from your phone(you can drag and drop this one, as it won't install if corrupted(it won't corrupt)). Install Magisk Manager on the phone(Enable sideloading if asked). In the app, touch the topmost install button and touch install again in the next screen. You will have two options: "Download zip only" and "Select and patch a file". Choose "Select and patch a file", then locate the AP file you transferred to the device. Magisk manager will patch the file and generate magisk_patched.tar in /sdcard/download/. In ADB, type
Code:
.\adb pull /sdcard/download/magisk_patched.tar
This will transfer it to the platform-tools folder. Again, don't use windows explorer to transfer. That will most certainly corrupt the file.
Step 2.5) Backup
Backup your data (you can use smart switch desktop program paired with mobile app to backup most of the stuff). Remove your google account from the device.
Step 3) Install Nougat 7.1.1
Extract Nougat 7.1.1 firmware. Extract odin. Run Odin.exe (might have version in name). Click OK. Factory reset your phone (You can do so from settings or recovery mode.). After the reset, reboot into download mode. It will ask if you're sure you want to install unofficial software, choose continue (If I don't recall incorrectly, the button for that was vol up). Plug your phone into your PC. Odin log should say "added!!" and you should see your device in one of the rectangles above. Now select the tar.md5 files extracted from the 7.1.1 firmware. Click the BL button, locate the BL_etcetc.tar.md5 file, click open. It will check the md5 for a second then let you click the next button. After choosing the BL(bootloader), AP(system), CP(radio) and CSC(localization) files (USERDATA button should remain empty, HOME_CSC file has no use) make sure only F.reset time and auto reboot are selected in options. Click start to begin. After flashing, it will do another factory reset and show you the setup.
Step 4) Unlock Bootloader
Skip everything in setup, then unlock develper options and you should see "OEM Unlocking" option that was removed in OREO firmware in there. Enable it. Next transfer the CROM service apk to your device (or download it directly). Install the app. Open it. Unlock the bootloader. (This step is required because C9000 is a Chinese phone)
Step 5) Install Oreo again
Boot into download and connect to odin. You can use the reset button to empty the buttons. Now select BL, CP and CSC files from the extracted oreo firmware. For AP, choose magisk_patched.tar . Start. If the installiation fails, you didn't unlock the Bootloader properly. The phone will reboot and factory reset a couple times. When it boots up, you'll have magisk installed.
Step 6) Things to do after rooting(optional)
First of all, magisk can hide root from Google, but not Samsung. Samsung Health, Knox secure container, Maximum power saving mode and Samsung pay won't work after you root. NFC will keep turning on on its own unless you uninstall Samsung pay. A samsung package (I'm not sure about the name but I think it was security log agent) will keep sending an unblockable notification offering to unroot. Uninstall that too, and you'll have a stable experience.
Recovering from fails:
If download mode refuses to install because of unofficial binaries, the bootloader isn't properly unlocked. Wait a couple seconds and force reboot with the key combination. Since it couldn't flash the system, that should reboot back to download mode (or recovery. in that case, choose "reboot to bootloader"). Install the official firmware, unlock bootloader and try again.
If the magisk_patched.tar file gets corruped and you flash the corrupted file successfully, your device will get into a bootloop. After the install, odin orders the phone to reboot into recovery to factory reset, but since the system image is corrupted, it won't be able to boot and produce a kernel panic. This will cause the phone to reboot, which will fail and cause it to try to reboot again. Since the phone doesn't get past the splash screen, this bootloop cannot be interrupted by button shortcuts. You should wait for the battery to die out for the bootloop to end. (It should take a day at max. Wrap a towel around it to block the vibration sounds if you want) After battery gets depleted, you need to perform a quick maneuver. You should plug the phone into a power supply (preferably your computer) while holding down volume down+home+power buttons. If you do it right, it will boot into download mode. (Otherwise, it will bootloop again. Simply unplug, wait for it to stop and try again) Flash the official firmware and repatch the AP file. Just in case you run into this issue, I recommend having less than 10% charge in your phone while flashing, just to make the wait time shorter.
Important: Check your firmware's baseband version from settings before flashing. In C9000ZHU1CSC1, CSC1 is the system and U1 is the bootloader version. Compare the bootloader version to the firmware you're going to flash and make sure they match. You can't downgrade bootloader versions. Flashing a previous version will brick your phone. (Probably permanently) This shouldn't be an issue since sm-C9000 has only one bootloader version, but check it anyways just to be sure.

Type or copy-paste to start ADB. On your phone, check "always allow on this PC" and click OK when prompted. Enter the code again and check if a device appears on the list. Then type .(Change the name of the file corresponding to yours. You can change the destination to another folder in your phone. Ex. /sdcard/download/) This will transfer the file from your PC to your phone. Do not drag and drop the file. This might corrupt it, causing a bootloop upon installiation. (Happened to me initially. Yes, I did root my SM-C9000 using this method, and it is working nicely. Obviously I lost access to Secure Folder and Samsung Pay. You should be able to install the Play Store version of Samsung Health. Maximum Power Saving froze the phone the first two times I enabled it, but it's working fine now. One unexpected caveat is that mobile hotspot started to turn itself off if mobile data is enabled even though my carrier has no restrictions on using hotspot. You can't share your data connection using Bluetooth or usb cable neither. You can still use the hotspot for creating a local network. Other than those, I didn't experience any problems after rooting. While I was rooting, I did the mistake of using MTP to transfer the image and as a result my phone bootlooped for half a day but if you follow the instructions, that won't be a problem.
Of course, I don't guarantee anything and don't take responsibility, but there is no reason anything should go wrong.

Sorry for responding late. Yes, that is the exact model that I have and rooted using the method in the post. If you feel confident, you can follow trough it and root your phone. You can grab the required firmware from Sammobile. Keep in mind that after rooting some features might stop working (like hotspot and knox-related features). Good luck!
I got the same model of Samsung phone. I follow the steps but till step five, when i press open the files in odin and press start button, the odin will disappear in my computer. Then i try again and it failed. My phone shows: unsuppoted dev types. Here are my photos. Do you have any ideas? And i dunno how can i redo it again to root my phone. Would love to see helps from you, thanks!

Sorry for the late response. Searching that on the internet, it seems you might be using an old version of Odin. Please make sure you're using 3.13.1 and try again

as a Magisk module in Magisk https://github.com/kdrag0n/safetynet-fix/releases
How? Go to Magisk → Modules → install from storage and select the zip you downloaded.
Or you could just get your AP file and extract your boot.img.lz4 (use lz4 from github), put it on your phone and patch it with Magisk, then flash the VBMeta that this thread has in Odin, reboot and erase the cache and data in the stock recovery, rebooting to download mode again and flashing your magisk patched boot img in a tar file.

I agree with you. You can also use this way. However, using Magisk does all the jobs makes life easier and I am a bit lazy
Hi! I'm new into rooting and I just wanted to know, What's the risk of bricking when using magisk? I've rooted an old phone successfully via TWRP tho this way seems a bit more direct, and can I choose any region during the official firmware download?

The worst that would happen is a bootloop, which you can easily fix with a factory reset (not a good solution, but at least it works). The only dangerous part is installing the wrong TWRP version or a failed Odin flash, but no bricks. Odin mode will almost always work. Just make sure you have a charger in good condition.
As for picking regions, I'd just pick the phone's original region, if I were you. I'm not actually sure if region is tied to the device itself but better safe than sorry.
Greetings...
To check your Buld Number or Build Version, before you proceed doing any stuffs, type on the phone keypad this >>> *#1234#* and it will show on your device screen
Just tried to follow the guide, but I'm getting an error while flashing:
Custom binary blocked by OEM Lock: vbmeta
Firmware used:

Patched AP with Magisk 24.3.
Edit: NVM, LONG press volume up...
tried to follow the guide my A22 is rooted. But i have problem.
no application recognizes the root. I installed root checker and he says my phone is rooted but superuser binary files it not installed
Any one can help please?

I am not familiar with the A22 series, but I will say this: I'm rather wary of questionable root solutions, especially those that aren't open source. This is why I personally prefer Magisk - it is completely open source, so anyone who would like to examine the code can do so.
Sorry, when i See this tutorial, my phone has updated to android 13. Could this step possible to do now with this android version?
Very much thank you for the information!
have successfully run the tutorial above. even already using GSI rom android 13 from pixelExperience. but the network you get is stuck on 4G. are there any tools or tutorials to restore the 5g network.
