My Nexus 5 has been experiencing this issue for months now. It happens in all apps (especially Facebook, WhatsApp and Jeffit). I press the back button and it freezes, meaning I can't press anything other than the home button to exit the app. This will then repeat itself time and time again until I eventually turn the phone on and off. This will solve the issue for a few minutes until it starts again.
I tried factory reset and it was fine for a short while and then began again. I've tried to see what app it could be, but from Google searches it seems like other people have it too and no one has a solution? There didn't seem to be a thread on it on XDA so wanted to see if anyone has managed to fix it?
I haven't got anything custom on my phone and it isn't rooted. It's so frustrating and it's ruining and otherwise flawless experience with the Nexus 5. I'm pretty sure it started after the Kit Kat update.
Hi guys,
Do you have any issues of screen freezing in you yuphoria. Sometimes when we turn the screen on from standby, it takes 3-4 seconds for the screen to turn on. It can be solved by just rebooting the phone and after two days the issue occurs again. I think its som cache issue or something like that.. Many of the yuphoria users are having the same issue.. Do anyone have any solution for this ??
Sent from my YU5010 using XDA mobile app
I have installed Italian OTA Nougat for about a week with clean install (no root).
The phone have suffered 3 random reboots in 5 days. I can't find the culprit of it. It's bizarre that after every random reboot there is a completely white screen after I insert the sim code and unlock the phone. I must press home button in order for the phone to be usable again and go to home screen.
I guess that the obvious answer is factory reset it again, but i really don't have the time to set it up again from scratch. Any ideas or suggestions? It's there a log of the phone that I can use to find the culprit? Thank you for your time
Block this app causes the issue with the white screen. I have uninstalled it and i how Random reboots stop too.
I have this issue where the phone randomly reboots. It doesn't happen when the screen is off. It happened when I was on the home screen, in settings, or in an app. It happens in random times, doesn't matter if it's 5 or 15 or 30 minutes. It just randomly reboots.
I have done a factory reset and it still has the same issue. The only thing that stopped this was using the old navigation bar.
Did anyone encounter this issue as well? I have been using the phone for almost 2 hours and no reboots, thankfully.
It'd be my worst nightmare to have to go through Samsung support as we all know they're useless and this covid makes it worse.

Try safe mode to see if one of installed apps is the culprit. I have not had any random reboots and I have full screen gestures enabled.

I just booted into safe mode then turned on the full screen gestures. Rebooted after 3 seconds.
I'm hoping an update will fix this.
Had random reboots on my s20 had to send it to Samsung to replace the mother board
Okay, so to be more specific, the phone randomly reboots when I'm using the swipe up for home, swipe and hold for recents, and swipe side for back.
Now I'm using the gestures where you swipe up on the navigation bar for recents, home, and back. No reboots yet after about 10 minutes of use. Hopefully it won't happen again as this is what I always use.
Just please no hardware issues.
My Pixel 2 XL has an issue where the phone will boot and sometimes reboot randomly during the boot process. Other times, it successfully boots. When it does, all is well as long as the phone remains locked. Once the phone is unlocked however, it freezes after a few seconds and the reboots. When the phone finally unlocks without a reboot (seemingly random), it has no further restart issues and is good as long as it remains on (often weeks at a time).
I suspected it was an app causing the problem and tried booting into safe mode, but with the same result. Perhaps something that runs at startup is triggering the issue? The phone is quite old now and it has been dropped a fair number of times, perhaps it is a hardware problem, but it seems strange that the phone is fine as long as it can make it past whatever is happening at startup.
There are two things that I can visibly see happening at startup. The google assistant icon appears in the notification bar, followed by the voicemail icon.
Any ideas on this?
