XZP Problems> Boot issues, stuck at Sony Logo on and on, poorly rooted, now locked - Sony Xperia XZ Premium Questions & Answers

Hi All,
I am writing as I am trying to fix my father's smartphone - a Sony XZP. From beginning I can tell you I am not a Sony expert, however, I am quite a tech-savvy person and now I understand this phone's full history.
Firstly my father bought it from an online marketplace, sold as refurbished and unlocked. After a few months of utilization, the camera started to have issues, it wasn't charging properly, was stuck at Sony Logo, etc. The phone was taken to several specialists, they managed to fix it once, it worked a few more months than it entered this crazy logo stuck loop.
What I figured out so far after diagnosing it, it seems like the person who sold the phone rooted it instead of officially unlocking it. Then something went rogue with the software and the specialists probably rerooted it.
I managed to pull the IMEI and obtained an unlocking code from Sony. Now, how to I proceed to fix this phone correctly?
I appreciate all support I can get.
Update 01: It seems like whatever stock software 47.1.A.16.20 I am trying to replace I still get that the device is locked. Which means the phone has a password.
Now I am completely confused. Don't know how to reinstall the entire phone.

First off what do you mean by "locked"? Are you saying the bootloader is still locked? If you followed the instructions that came with the code from Sony website it should be unlocked. If you're saying there's a user password, it should be the one your father used while he was using the phone, unless the techs you gave the phone to, to repair it put one on there. What happens when you boot the phone and what message do you get on the screen (besides the Sony logo)

Hi Bob,
Thank you for your message. Let me answer each one of your queries.
1. It seems the bootloader is still locked.
2. I have instructions however, I am not at a stage where I can follow it, will explain with the below answers.
3. I figured out there is a password, don't know what the techs did, because my dad doesn't recall this sort of stuff.
4. In the meantime, while looking through scrip lines, I realized the phone was bought locked on Benelux.
5. The Key problem is at booting, the phone keeps rebooting at startup and I trying to fix this first. Plus the battery is very low and it is hard to charge it because it keeps on rebooting. I can't check the battery status.
6. After a lot of research, I have now downloaded the Stock Firmware that I found using XPERYFIRM 540 and now I am trying to flash it using Sony Mobile Flasher by Androxyde.
Hope to get more advice and progress. It is very hard to solve this backwards since I don't know what other people did on the phone.
How can I attach screenshots?

OK. Press and hold volume up and power button at the same time. Phone will vibrate once and then 3 times quickly. Right after the 3rd vibration let go of the buttons phone will be off. Now you can fully charge it.
Look for the .107 firmware as it's the newest.
Download with xperifirm. Follow instructions on unpacking it.
Use newflasher to flash the firmware. Plenty of info online on how to use. Very easy. Should solve boot loop problem.
Make sure you have developer mode and USB debugging enabled, AND, correct drivers installed on your computer.
If you followed the Sony directions bootloader should be unlocked. There should be a message at startup warning you bootloader is unlocked.

Use newflasher

Hi my friend, very useful tips.
For you to know, even if I stop it as you said, it still goes into the loop of sony logo.
I cannot see Developer Mode and USB debugging enabled since I cannot pass the crazy on and on sony logo loop. It keeps restarting. Will try tomorrow from scratch.
Use newflasher to flash the firmware. Plenty of info online on how to use. Very easy. Should solve boot loop problem.

Can't use Flashtool.

Hello. I'm new at this great forum. Excuse my english, I'm from Spain. Several days trying to solve my problem, reading at google, forums, etc. This is the matter:
I bought recently an Xperia ray, bootloader blocked, updated to 4............62 Then, I realised that this firmware cannot be rooted. So I`ve downloaded previous firmwares, 042 and 058 and tried to flash via flashtool so as to revert my 062 firmware to those 042 or 058. but there is no way to flash. I start flashing with the phone switched off and ge this message:

However, I previously put USB debugging on, for sure.
Then, I tried conecting USB cable with the phone switched on, and get this message:

Thanks in advance.
Problem solved.
Thanks.

Bricked x10

Hi, first of all, i know there are lots of post about bricked phones, trust me, i've seen most of them but none of it helped me and i am kind of fraking out. I got a Sony x10 a few weeks ago and I loved it. I upgraded it to Andoird 2.3.3, rooted it, installed xRecovery, etc. But yesterday I tried to install Android ICS, for that I had to unlock bootloader. Read a lot of post and started, and finally used a method which uses kernel downgrade, a batch program and the kernel upgrade, but guess what, it didn't work, couldn't flash kernel upgrade after all. What freaks me out is that I can't install any ftf either, flashtools keeps showing ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="SECURITY_CLASS";ERR_DYNAMIC="SIN header verification failed". Tried using update service, tried with many ftf files and flashtools. Nothing happens. Phone just vibrates a little bit longer than normal when I turn it on and nothing else. It also turn the green led on when connecting to the charger and flash mode seems to work.
I am desperate, I had to do a lot to get a phone like this and now it doesn't even boot with the SE logo. Thanks and I hope someone has the solution.
I forgot to put this:

complete log, saved when trying to flash stock 2.3.3 firmware
That one should be easy to solve When you choose an ftf file to flash in firmware selection window you have to check "No final verification". That worked for me
P.S. also try to post your threads in the right section
brick
u must try another flash tool the older version
U read a lots, but why didnt u unlock using flashtool plugins? It's easier.

[Completed] Need help unlocking bootloader on Xperia z2 using flashtool (windows 8.1)

This is the first time im trying to root a phone.
I bought the xperia z2, and when the official way to onlock the bootloader failed (sony), I tried to use Flashtool.
I started with downloading the flashtool, and followed every step to download it correctly. When everything was set, I connected the phone to the pc while holding the minus volume button.
The phone then connects to the pc and flashtool starts unlocking the bootloader. But after a couple of seconds the phone disconnects automatcally. It isnt something wrong with the USB cable, it connects fine without the flashtool.
This problem persists after trying over and over again. I have reinstalled flashtool and all the drivers. Turned off antivirus and changed the pc setting so it enables me to install the flashtool hardwares. Im using windows 8.1.
The message I get from flashtool from I start up flashtool til the phone disconnect is this:

Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. A quick search allowed me to find this thread:
[D6502/D6503][17.1.A.1.2]Flashtool needs an update for XZ2
It might be a good idea to ask there, that way people experienced with your device and with Flash Tool can help you out.
Good luck!
Dont think I can post replies yet
Hi
Thank you so much for the answer, but when I tried to post a comment on the post you sent it says that i cant do that because my comment will be on a seperate q&a post. Not sure what to do

[Q] [Need Help] ST26A May be softbrick?

Hey.. I’m having trouble trying to recover my Xperia J from what I think it’s a softbrick.
My phone is using CM10. It is unlocked bootloader.
Somedays ago I was in Whatsapp and my phone freeze and started to vibrate and then to reboot.
The phone initially normal, I can use it for less than a minute and starts to reboot again. That’s all it does. Reboot, reboot and reboot…
Because of that I tried to flash it with the stock ftf (11.0.A.7.5). I got Flashtool, I install the drivers (Flashmode, fastboot, ST26). The phone can enter into flashmode and fastboot. When I try to flash (by flashmode or fastboot), it stucks in Reading device information.
I tried to flash only kernel and the same happened. I went to 3 repairservices but they can’t flash it either.
Any idea?
Sorry for my bad English… I’m from a spanishcountry.

18:26:16 - INFO - Start Flashing
18:26:16 - INFO - No loader in the bundle. Searching for one
18:26:16 - INFO - No matching loader found
18:26:16 - WARN - No loader found or set manually. Skipping loader
I had also tried 0.9.18.6, and I think it's too old and doesn't work for XZ.
Can anyone help me!! PLEASE!!!
redownload system image and reinstall drivers
Are you using win8.1? In that release, the driver always gives errors I switched to Windows 10, and i've improved this error
