Motorola and other OEMs only document support for what they can test at time of original device release, and don't update as newer SD cards are available.
Likely a 1 terabyte card would work fine.

NTFS on MicroSD card?

Does anyone know if there will be a mod to allow use of a file system that supports large files like NTFS or exFAT? Currently the MicroSD can only be formatted as FAT32 (Sucks bigtime).
Yes it does. I've resorted to storing to the internal storage and external harddrives for now.

NTFS support android tablet?
You just need NTFS support in the kernel.
Most of the ROMs on this forum have this already. Install one of them.
NTFS works everywhere, even microSD card, on the Transformer.
Anyone know how to format a card to NTFS using android or honeycomb?

Interesting. I have a class 10 16gb microSD card, and I am pretty sure its formattet for fat32. I guess I will have to try and see if it becomes faster with NTFS

How can I find these ROMs?
Is there any ROM or kernel already made for X10 with Android 2.3.3 that supports NTFS?

[Q] Does 4.2.1 have a problem with SD Cards

I have been looking for an answer for awhile now. Does 4.2.1 dislike sd cards over 8gb? I have tried two different roms and two different sd cards and still get the same result but when I use a rom running 4.1.2 the cards work perfectly! Please help!

At the time that the specs came out there was no 64GB cards available only the 32, in theory it should take any card size formatted in fat32

Highest Class MicroSD supported by i9003

Hi All,
Can anyone help me telling upto which higher class of Micro SD cards does i9003 support. Thinking of switching to 16GB class 6 card.
I'm currently using a 16GB class 10 MicroSD Card and works good and fast.

I tested it with CM10, CM10.1 and CM10.2 and I didn't have any probem.
With CM9 I was using a Samsung MicroSD 4Gb Class 6 and didn't give me any problem.
If you need any other info, let me know

I'm using this card.
The price is quite low, it's very fast and I didn't ever had a problem with it:

Hope this helps
I'm using this:
Samsung 32GB microSD Card
No problems at all, since original 2.3.6 Gingerbread. Now I'm with dhiru's CM10.1A9 with SwapSD so I can use it as internal storage.
EDIT: my Samsung microSD died last week.
I replaced it with this SanDisk Extreme PLUS 32GB microSDHC UHS-1 card (features a limited lifetime warranty).
is there a way of knowing weither a class 10 micro sd card is original? I am in Nigeria and wants to buy 32gb class 10 card
8 gb class 10 is working

USB host cable on a Nexus 5?

Does the N5 require some kind of special host cable to be able to read an external micro SD card via a card reader? Can't seem to get mine to read or mount an external card at all? (32 GB model)

Sorry, wasn't aware that this kind of question wasn't appropriate for "General"... If one of the mods could re-locate the thread to Q&A it would be appreciated...

Not using a custom rom or kernel just yet... Just a bog standard Nexus 5 right now. Why doesn't it just mount itself with the stock kernel/rom? All the tablets I have used with Android v4.x.x already do?

Take a look at this thread as it covers a super compact micoSDcard reader and the various mounting software you will need to access the storage.

I did my own review of the Meenova OTG micoSDcard reader within the thread including pictures with my N5.
