I have flashed "update-cm-9-20120226-NIGHTLY-crespo-signed.zip" from the official site of cyanogenmod and its works great. Now they have update on that. Could you please answer for my queries...
1.When I update to the new version, do I need to wipe data, cache....etc..?
2.Do I need to flash gapps again....?
3.When I flash the update, the applications installed will be wiped...?
Thanks

Hey, i was just wondering how you updated the cm9 latest nightly build update
Did you use is through Recovery?
A lot of Androids r similar as far as updating. If its just an update, usually u just need wipe cache and dalvik. If its a entirely different build then u will need to do a Clean Wipe. If after reboot u find no Gapps u can always just boot into recovery again and flash Gapps. Some guides will recommend doing a factory reset which will clear user data.

The usual way, you do all necesarry whipes, and then you install the rom you want. But: no dirty flashesas 4.2 and 4.3have eome architectural diferences (whipe sostem, whipe cache and dalvik, in mounts and storage format both sistem and SD card - better if you back up your photos, music and all media to pc as this deletes everithing you have on in), then connect your phone to PC/Laptop via USB and copy the files of the rom you want, the G-apps and/or kernel

Always after full whipe and factory reset you:
1. Flash the desired rom (it has a kernel of it's own
2. Flash Gapps (they have to be Gapps for your specific rom android version)
3. Flash a custom kernel you like (if you will skip step 3 the rom will still boot up case it comes with it's own kernel, but if you downgrade it's good to flash one case the rom one is mostlikely outdated; and remember that the kernel you flash has to have suport for he android version you flash)
My advice to you if you downgrade is not to go back further than ICS case newer apps will probably have compatibility issues with really old outdated system versions

You don't have to wipe anything no matter which procedure you choose.
When you are flashing through Flashtool just exclude wipe (cache or data) and that's it...
Same thing goes for recovery as well...
You should choose this option if you want prerooted stock ROM or you are flashing custom ROM ..

Stock recovery Miui 9.5.20.0 available?

twrp bootloop

Hi,
after pitchblack test I have softbriqued my poco.
I used miflash pro for reinstall and everything was good.
but, after unlock again my phone, flash the recovery, (everything was good at this time) flash my rom, the rom doesn't want to boot.
I tried many rom , change the twrp, nothing.
If anaybody have a solution for this issue, you're welcome.
Thanks a lot.
may be flash again with MIFLASH(clean all ) and go to the end of the configuration and check if everything is good .

have you done...
format data in TWRP after flash TWRP and before install ROM again?
best TWRP for me...
recovery-TWRP-3.4.2B-0623-REDMI_K30PRO-CN-wzsx150
start twrp, only via fastboot with my rom version xiaomi.eu_multi_HMK30Pro_20.10.16_v12-11
Thanks for your response.
I've got a first issue with miflash, but the second time was good.
I don't know why it was impossible to connect with fastboot! That's the game of flashing..
I forgot one thing during my flashing session.. : after unlock my bootloader, and reflash a new rom, I didn't set pattern password...... It was the issue!
edit: after miflash session I could repare my phone to stock global. But after this I want to change my rom, and the twrp bootloop became.really strange.
This morning I use miflashtools another time and I keep this version of miui.
I don't know why it impossible to reinstall another rom after complete miflafh process!
Always and always back in recovery, each time!

Twrp used: all! China twrp 0328, and maunofrio
Install rom: format data, always, reboot to recovery, always, flash, succeed, done.
Wipe cache dalvik.
Reboot, and it became to twrp.
With my Poco, I flashed maybe 30 or 40 times for test some roms.
But since I tested pitch-black twrp everything gone wrong!

So you must flash miui V12.0.3.0.QJKMIXM with miflash. (no need to configure it just restart in fasboot and install trwp chinesse)
format data(if red lignes reboot twrp format again)->reboot twrp flash MMX rom, format data->reboot system
(do not use WIPE).

That's what I did!
I'm on stock 12.0.3.0 now, with maunofrio twrp. I tested with chinese to.
I can root the rom, use magisk as well.
I did may be, 3 or 4 miflash for flash stock rom.,and always the same issue.
When I flash I haven't any issues with redlines, everything gone fine.
With stock its OK, with custom not.

It's just incredible and I don't understand why I need to format data after install now!
One month ago, wipe cache dalvik was enough to launch boot!
Big up!
