Hi,
after pitchblack test I have softbriqued my poco.
I used miflash pro for reinstall and everything was good.
but, after unlock again my phone, flash the recovery, (everything was good at this time) flash my rom, the rom doesn't want to boot.
I tried many rom , change the twrp, nothing.
If anaybody have a solution for this issue, you're welcome.
Thanks a lot.
may be flash again with MIFLASH(clean all ) and go to the end of the configuration and check if everything is good .
https://xiaomiflashtool.com/
have you done...
format data in TWRP after flash TWRP and before install ROM again?
best TWRP for me...
recovery-TWRP-3.4.2B-0623-REDMI_K30PRO-CN-wzsx150
start twrp, only via fastboot with my rom version xiaomi.eu_multi_HMK30Pro_20.10.16_v12-11
Thanks for your response.
I've got a first issue with miflash, but the second time was good.
I don't know why it was impossible to connect with fastboot! That's the game of flashing..
I forgot one thing during my flashing session.. : after unlock my bootloader, and reflash a new rom, I didn't set pattern password...... It was the issue!
edit: after miflash session I could repare my phone to stock global. But after this I want to change my rom, and the twrp bootloop became.really strange.
This morning I use miflashtools another time and I keep this version of miui.
I don't know why it impossible to reinstall another rom after complete miflafh process!
Always and always back in recovery, each time!

Twrp used: all! China twrp 0328, and maunofrio
Install rom: format data, always, reboot to recovery, always, flash, succeed, done.
Wipe cache dalvik.
Reboot, and it became to twrp.
With my Poco, I flashed maybe 30 or 40 times for test some roms.
But since I tested pitch-black twrp everything gone wrong!

So you must flash miui V12.0.3.0.QJKMIXM with miflash. (no need to configure it just restart in fasboot and install trwp chinesse)
format data(if red lignes reboot twrp format again)->reboot twrp flash MMX rom, format data->reboot system
(do not use WIPE).

I can root the rom, use magisk as well.
I did may be, 3 or 4 miflash for flash stock rom.,and always the same issue.
When I flash I haven't any issues with redlines, everything gone fine.
With stock its OK, with custom not.

One month ago, wipe cache dalvik was enough to launch boot!

Few days earlier I had to use MSM tool as my OP6 only went to Crash Dump mode everytime.
So after flashing the tool, everything went back to normal, but since then I can't get any custom ROM to install on my phone. whenever I do flash the rom and then twrp, I reboot to recovery for flashing gapps, it takes me to fastboot mode instead and never boots.
Evidently, I have installed Omni, Havoc and all the other roms before. What can the problem be? Any help please?
I supposed you read the instructions and flashed to both slots? Or did you do like most and skip a few steps?
Hi!
I am in the same situation : MSM tool and then I can no longer install custom rom. Have you resolved the problem ?
Thanks !

Did you flash oos to both slots? Like the comment above yours tells him to.
People need to read. This already been discussed over and over.
I didn't understand in the previous post that it is OOS that need to be flash twice, not the custom rom. Thanks whizeguy !
The OP6 is my first device with this A / B. I read a lot about this A / B and I think I understand it. But I'm going to install this ROM https://forum.xda-developers.com/o...eally so stupid? Can some one help me please?
Have you tried the new Blue Spark TWRP?

If i boot in to twrp, flash the rom and twrp, go to reboot -> recovery: the screen stays black and does not reboot in to recovery.
I tried twrp-3.2.3-1-enchilada and twrp-3.2.3-x_blu_spark_v9.86_op6
After hours of trying, the phone booted one time the new rom. Now i'm back on the stock rom, because OP of the ROM listed features which are not included.
How to do a clean install(no rom installed just recovery)? I want to format everything and flash my rom thru otg. Shud I wipe everything when I boot to recovery?
I think internal storage is the correct option then though it also removes all media on the device. Otherwise clear system, data, cache, bootloader, dalvik. Then install the rom from external source.
Should I flash from fastboot the recovery(twrp)? It might get wiped once the wipe everything.
I have same doubts....

So do I... You necro'd a 8 month old thread...
I tried to go through few thereds however I was unable to find an answer.
I'm still on 5.11 oreo a d official TWRP. I would like to update to newest pie, however I would go for clean flash.
How should I do it?
I already backed up all app+ data using titanium.
Should I just go to TWRP
1. Factory default
2. Wipe all
3. Wipe system. Data, davlik and cache
4 flash latest pie and don't reboot
5 reboot to twrp
6 flash twrp
7 reboot to TWRP and flash magisk
It it right?
Thank you

Miss all days we could go to TWRP, erase all **** and then just flash rom. Period.

It sucks!

That also happened to me. I do not know how to go to another custom ROM from another custom ROM without going to MsmDownloadToolV4 to unbrick my device. Actually i did unbrick my device twice already because of trying various custom ROM.
Also, is there a way to just restore from recovery then flash another custom ROM. Then if we want to change custom ROM again we can just restore from recovery again then flash another custom ROM?
Please help us guys. Thanks.
Good day all,
for some time, i have been using the Mi Mix 3 CN version with Xiaomi.EU weekly Rom and i loved it.
Today, I decided to try install the Unofficial PE Rom witch can be found here (https://treble.andro.plus/pe.html)
I Followed these instructions (https://www.getdroidtips.com/pixel-experience-rom-xiaomi-mi-mix-3/)
For some reason i decided to do a full wipe ie. ;
Dalvik/ART Cache
Data
Internal Storage
Cache
System
I went to install PE ROM and upon completion, i was boot-looping and rebooting into TWRP Recovery 3.2.3-1205 for MIX 3 --by wzsx150.
In a panic, i tried reinstalling the weekly ROM again by doing the same steps above, and behold i am still getting the same problem.
Would someone please help me out here as for this is my only phone and need to get it back up and running.
Thanks in advance.

1. Flash the China dev vendor.img, or the full China Dev ROM, or Xiaomi EU (works ok with PE)
2. Install PE zip
3. Quick Wipe and format 'yes' in twrp
4. Flash Magisk
That's how I do it for all ROMs and GSI and works fine.
You'll get the China dev vendor IMG from the link on post one of the PE thread. You can flash it with twrp.
Always recommend to use the vendor IMG from China Dev instead of EU, especially with the GSI ROMs.
are you on global?
In twrp: factory reset then format data (hit yes to accept).
Reboot phone and reenter twrp.
Connect to computer and transfer xiaomi.eu rom onto root of device (I suspect any would work but I happen to have used 10.2.2.0.PEECNXM_v10-9 which is believe was xiaomi.eu stable release), pixel experience ROM zip and magisk-v17.3mod4mimix3
Flash the xiaomi.eu rom first then without rebooting or any formatting or factory resetting immediately flash the PE ROM zip and then magisk 17.3.
Once those three files are flashed via twrp go to wipe and the factory reset then format data again
this always works for me
thanks to @homer.ali
Works for the Mi Mix 3 coming from MIUI 11 EU

Thank you so much for these instructions. Coming from Global MIUI 11, I tried to figure out how to install PE for the last 2 days and every time I ended up being stuck in a bootloop. So far, I tried to install Resurrection Remix, Lineage OS and Evolution X without success.
Your instructions solved this issue. BTW: the only working version of TWRP for me was twrp-3.2.3-8-perseus-mauronofrio. After flashing this version, I was able to install the latest TWRP.
this always works for me

Do you (or anyone else in this thread) know whether these steps [install order: xiaomi.eu, rom, magisk | then: factory reset + wipe data] work for other custom roms on the Mi Mix 3 as well? >> Short answer: no. Tried it for the above roms. I always end up in TWRP (or bootloop) after flashing either way (the official or the on I 've tried here).
@chromanju did you solve this problem?

If you have TWRP, flash the OOS Stable Zip + TWRP, reboot the recovery, and there flash only OOS.
You will have OOS Stable in both slots, and the second flash will replace the recovery with the one from OnePlus
You may have to Format Data at the middle of the operation (When you reboot the recovery before the second flash). If that's the case, you won't be able to do the second flash, because the OOS zip will be erased !

Not necessarily. If you just flash OOS Stable, and Format the Data after, you will have a perfectly working device, with OOS Stable and OnePlus stock recovery. The storage will just be totally empty (So no Zips left to flash anything else like TWRP or Magisk), but the phone will work, just like when you first bought it ! If you don't want to flash anything more than OOS, then yes just flash the ROM, Format Data, and reboot
A PC would be useful if you want to flash OOS a second time to fill the second slot. But even then, you could do without one :
- Flash OOS
- Format the Data
- Reboot, setup the phone, install apps, ect
- Download the OOS Stable zip that has been erased when you formatted from Chrome on your phone
- Do a "Local upgrade" from the Updater in the settings, and flash 9.0.5 again
- Now you have a totally stock OOS Stable phone, with 9.0.5 on A and B System slots, clean as a baby !
I did this exact procedure myself this moning after being stupid and messing with the encryption, and not having an USB cable near me to use a PC

Just install the rollback zip through the local update and reboot.

Hi,
Not sure it's the right place to post, tell me if not.
I received the notification for update yesterday and would like to install it. But I'm bootloader unlocked, rooted and with TWRP installed.
I've tried to install it "the normal way" anyway, but after downloading the update via OTA and rebooting, the phone reboots in TWRP and does not install the update through it...
Is there a way to install the update without loosing TWRP, root and data ?

Ok, so I could just do the following steps ?
- Download the ROM by the MIUI updater (which stores the full zip in "downloaded_rom" folder")
- Reboot to TWRP
- Wipe Dalvik/ART and Cache
- Flash the downloaded zip
- Optionally : Flash Magisk to retrieve root
- Reboot
Since my post, I've found this thread for Mi Mix 2 (not 2s) which talk about a LazyFlasher zip...

copy ROM to any other folder (e.g. from /sdcard/downloaded_rom to /sdcard), then ROM will not get deleted.

oh, I misunderstood.
this behaviour I had with EVERY update. Just installed twrp again and everything working again.
Same here, but in this last update it gets reverted when I reboot, Whether I let it restart right after flashing twrp or if get into it after flashing. Is also noteworthy that it doesn't prompt me the "partition modification" message.
Is there any "settings" or cache for twrp that can be cleaned to have a "fresh" install? It remembers the time zone so I think it should save some things somewhere
Hm. weird. what I did was fastboot into TWRP and from there install as image from internal storage (or OTG).
(Might be, that I tried another version (v14? v15? from this forum) because I tested a few things because of my phone freezing problems. But I guess this should not make any difference.)
So no black magic here.
The only thing i know: I have it running.

No issues reboting into recovery after twrp installation. But once i get into system, recovery partition is factory restored to mi-recovery 3.0
All went good for me !
I've done the following steps :

tried all those steps and I still end up bootlooped (with magisk 19 and 19.3).
ill back up important data, and make a clean 10.3.3 installation. If it doesnt work with 10.3.3, I'll rollback to 10.2.2
Seems that my rom "setup" was the culprit. Made a clean 10.3.3 install (fastboot mode flash_all.bat), reinstalled twrp, magisk and it booted ok (and twrp stayed togheter with encryption support).
No idea what happened in the update from my 10.2.2 to 10.3.3, but twrp works ok on 10.3.3 with a clean installation
Ok, weird... But good to know that all is ok now
