Hi.
I searched on the forum and in google and I didn't found anyone having the same issue than me.
I bought several ssd samsung 850 (250GB) and 860 evo (250GB and 500GB). I connected to my computer 850 evo(250GB) and formatted it with ntfs.
I suspect to connect a windows file system with a android probably would need a application and I found in some tutorials Microsoft extFAT/NTFS for USB by paragon which also needs total commander but I tried with the Xiaomi Mi 9 File Manager and yes, I had luck and was able to access ssd, create folder, copy folders to ssd but I got shocked when I saw writting speed at 17MB/s average when ssd and usb type c have around 600MB/S.
I'm using a sata-usb type c interface I bought in aliexpress so I tried to find which could be the source of the issue and in my opinion 3 are the possibilities unless I'm missing something:
1.- Interface sata-usb type c not giving 600MB/s as seller advertises
2.- Xiaomi Mi 9 File Manager App
3.- SSD issues
So I connected ssd to my computer (my motherboard is special it's a gigabyte z77x-d3h which had issues to work with usb 3.0 speeds as I read in Tom's hardware forum. I had to check most usb ports with ssd and use crystal mark software to check read and write speeds and in 4 usb ports were giving me around 35MB/s matching with usb 2.0 standard speeds (at least real speeds or what I read about it) but finally I found that one of the usb 3.0 ports close to rj45 interface gave me decent speeds (around 309MB/s), far from 600MB/s that a sata-usb 3.0 interface should give me but at least much better than 35MB/s that gave me other ports and 17MB/s in the phone. Conclusion: SSD works fine and seems interface (sata-usb 3.0) also does it.
The only think I could think reduce speed could be File Manager Xiaomi Mi 9 factory default app but I don't have a way to know it. Do you know a file manager that supports NTFS and has high read/write speeds? am I missing something or doing something wrong? Could it be sata-usb-type c interface not right working?
I would like to insert images but can only be inserted as links so I can't do it, sorry for the inconvenience.
Regards and thanks for your help.

Hi, finally I tested with https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B0...e_1?smid=A1Y45AYDILSMI8&psc=1#customerReviews and I got speeds around 400MB/s so it was the interface purchased in aliexpress.

Hi,
This may be quite a retarded question but here we go anyway:
The Nokia N8 is capable of hosting a USB stick via the medium of a micro USB adapter. i.e. You can plug a USB stick using a micro USB adapter into the N8 and it will mount it as an extra drive displayed in a file explorer.
Is this possible with the Nexus S/Android platform at all?
Presumably drivers would need to be sourced somewhere, and some form of Linux based hack...
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Andy
i'd love to see that happen in the SNS
but from what we know so far, it's not yet possible
however the guys over at SGS, are already cracking in on the code, to hack it and make it work.
as soon as they get that working it should be simple to port it over to SNS, as the phones are practically the same
I have a new Chuwi V10HD 3G dual OS Windows 8.1 and Android KitKat 4.4. This only has a micro USB 2.0 port - no other I/O ports.
I want to be able to use the capability of the USB OTG 2.O spec - if I understand it correctly - to be able to attach and utilize an external USB 2.0 device (for example, hard drive, flash drive, keyboard, mouse, USB to Ethernet adapter, external display, etc.) while simultaneously charging the Chuwi tablet.
Chuwi says the port is a USB OTG 2.0 spec.
Hours of internet searching gives mixed impressions of whether this can be done.
More hours reading posts here on xda-developers also yields conflicting views and experiences. Some members describe how they've had success by using various Y adaptors or multi-port devices - or even hard wiring their own cables. Others say they've tried that approach with no love. Still others say the OTG spec doesn't allow for that and that it's physically impossible to do both at once.
Then there's the Pluggable Pro 8 docking station which, for a hefty price, says it will charge while connecting external devices.
What is the current state of the offerings now? Does any product really offer a solution now? Is it even possible?
To a layman like me, it doesn't seem like this should be so hard and shrouded in such mystery. <sigh>
Hi there,
You'd be best served asking for help from the experts who own your device, here:
Chuwi vi10 10.6" z3736F dual boot windows 8.1 + android 4.4
Good luck
Hello,
USB C is meant to be USB 3 speeds for data transfer etc ?
However just checking the official specs and its says USB 2.
Does this phone have improved transfer speeds over ordinary USB 2 or is it the same as.
EDIT: - Tested transfer speeds
Read speeds at 28/30Mbs
Write speed at 37.5Mbs
Many Thanks
As far as i know, the phone is only equipped with USB 2.0
Will Have to do speed tests later on.
Shame they've got a new port but not upgraded to USB 3/3.1 if so
Right so I can read via a USB 3 port to the phone via USB C at 30/28Mbs and write at 37Mbs
Seriously?
Sony always manage to whack in under par hardware for these 3: USB, sdcard reader and speakers.
Since the z1 actually.
However this being there must premium offering I'd have hoped they actually changed this and inserted premium hardware. Shame on all the counts.
Yeah I'm not pleased with it at all.
So after a year, I managed to grab a USB Type C to C (thunderbolt 3) cable and test with a board with thunderbolt 3 port.
The speed for transferring a 1.XGB .mkv file via MTP is still 30-40Mbs... as expected.
Interesting thing is that flashmode does not work, but fastboot and MTP mode still works with USB-C to C cable...
Flash mode does work with USB 3.1 Type A to C port/cable on the same board.
Anyone else also have see something like this? Or maybe its just cable/board issue.
Does anyone know how to enable full usb3.1 speeds on pixel.
Right now I'm using Samsung t3 SSD, but the write speeds are only about 110mb/s. Which is 5 times slower than a computer with usb3.0 port where I get 400mb)s write speeds.
So I'm wondering if there is any kernal or ROM that I can use achieve full sppeds,?
Thanks
Are you sure you're using USB 3.1 cable?
Yes im. I'm using apple thunderbolt to USB converter . And the USB info shows that it's using usb3.0. and 110mb/s write speeds are not possible with usb2.0.
It's faster than usb2.0 connection but no where close to uab3.0 speeds.
Totally guessing, but it's based on general tech experience for many years. The USB to Thunderbolt conversion could be the culprit. Things are often lost in the shuffle when using some kind of adapter that has to translate between formats.
The only way of telling for sure would be to use an equivalent drive that had a native USB 3.1 (or 3.0) connection.
Hi. I recently purchased a 1TB Samsung 990 pro SSD along with Asus TUF SSD enclosure.
I'm trying to use it with my S22 ultra and galaxy tab s8 ultra but something weird is happening.
When I connected the drive to my S22 ultra using a type c to type c cable, the drive worked properly.
But when I removed it and tried using it the second time, it doesn't work. I don't know what's happening but looks like a power supply issue.
Now the strange part is that if I connect the drive to a laptop/pc and then I connect it to my mobile, it starts working again. But as soon as I unmount and remove it from my mobile, it stops working again after that.
So every time I have to use the drive with my mobile or tab, I have to connect it first to a laptop/pc/power bank and then use it with my mobile.
Is there anyone else who has faced this issue? Also, does anyone know about an adapter which allows me to connect an external power supply to the drive and also to my mobile simultaneously? Like a type c splitter adaptor. I don't know what is it called exactly. But I want to be able to supply external 5V power to the drive while connecting it to my tab or mobile.
Thanks
Wipe it and return it for replacement

Why? It's working totally fine with my laptop. Doesn't look like an SSD issue. Seems like a power supply issue only.
There are USB C adapters of the type you are looking for available at Amazon. Some of these adapters are quite useful and provide connections for monitors, providing connectivity for video via USB C in addition to providing power for an external drive like you are looking for. In addition, some even provide slots for SD memory cards and are great to have in one’s toolbox for when the need arises.
