I have been talking to HTC support about the HAC not working and the tech said that their there software developers know about the problem but don't know when it will be fixed. But he (Support Tech) did seem to Know about the Gingerbread update.
This is there E-Mail:
At this time, we don't have an anticipated release date for the fix. The Inspire is scheduled to get the 2.3 update in the second quarter, but that’s all the information we have received so far. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

I guess time will tell.
sorry to sound like a newb, but what is the HAC you are referring to?
Hearing Aid Compatibility. Without it working properly, it makes it very difficult for the hearing impaired to use this phone at all as anything but a tablet.

Does it just make the volume louder? Because when I turned it on it made my call volume very loud. I to turn it almost all the way down and it was still very loud.
Edit: now that I think about it I the other person could not hear me. I thought it was because i was whispering. So I called them on my office phone and then turned off HAC.
Hey Guys, I have read all the post here, and have done numerous searches here as well as google, and cant find a single topic on the problem I'm having, and I know other people have to be having the same problem, or maybe they do, and don't realize it, lol.. anyway when I am on the phone talking to someone and someone else calls, the person I am talking to hears my beep, some ask who's trying to call you? while others say hold on they are getting a call, but it is my beep they are hearing, so I have tried almost every app in the market, and patiently waited for the 2.3.4 update, and no fix, I called tmobile and they said it was a known issue and LG is working on a patch, but didn't know when one would be available, I called LG they said it was a known problem but had no plans of fixing it.... Does anyone here know how to fix this ? or have a work around ?
besides disabling call forwarding all together ????? This is like an invasion of privacy
and really irritating, Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys !!
are u using Bluetooth? plantronic?
Na, stock g2x, stock rom 2.3.4 android, no accessories, if you have one try an experiment with someone, it does the same on mine, my fathers, and my girls.....
Weirdest thing.... thanks for any help
because my friend using 3gs and Bluetooth happened just like u said.
I have been flashing roms and messing with stuff on my Galaxy s2 for a few months and haven't had any problems. So I decided to get my son the Nexus S. We have had it since July. When we got it it was running Gingerbread. I updated it to 4.0.4 without rooting from a thread on XDA. Everything has been working fine till a few weeks ago. I would call my son but he wouldn't have a missed call. It will ring and then go to voicemail, so he should be showing a missed call. I have his phone this week so I have been trying to figure it out. It seems to get into some kind of loop. If someone calls and it doesn't ring, I can call someone and it won't go through. Of course I have called AT&T but I seem to know more about android than they do. So last night I rooted it and flashed paranoid android 2.22. The same issue happened again this morning. I have changed to radio from auckj1 to aucke1 thinking that might help. Sorry for the long post but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Could this be a kernel issue or radio issue? I know that there are programs out there that say you can put it back to stock for replacement but I don't know if that is true or not. I need some help from people smarter than me. Thanks!
I have a T-Mobile 8X and when I turn on the speakerphone the other side can't hear me but I can still hear them. Both sides can hear when speakerphone is off.
Has anyone else had this issue? I've hard reset and still have the same thing so it leads me to believe it is a hardware issue.
And just to clarify this has nothing to do with the voice command to dial using speakerphone. I place the call normally and turn the speaker on and the other party can't hear me but I can hear them. If I do the voice dialing which is the thing I find on Google then I have the same issue as others online (no one can hear anyone) but I don't care about that.
That is a bizzare issue if you can give voice commands but not be heard on speakerphone. They should use the same microphone, right? That would lead me to believe the hardware works fine, and there may be a software issue.
Do you have a case on your phone? Sometimes those interfere, though I doubt it with what you described.
Have you tried doing a call over Skype? That would help you confirm that whether or not the speaker phone mic hardware works, then we'd know the issue is software.
You've probably already checked this, but make sure that the mute button is not getting pressed when you switch to speaker phone.

EVERYTHING works except my voice when on speakerphone. Skype, voice commands, everything. I can record audio with a voice recorder and play it back. Mute button is not pressed.
I've hard reset the phone and it didn't fix the issue. I think I'll send it in for service soon.
Also, I noticed we have different firmware and bootloader versions. Mine are:
Firmware: 1532.20.20004.531
Bootloader: 0.0.1532.20(160093)
I'm on T-mobile too, my phone is only a week old. Your post made me worried, so I tried out a speaker phone call and it worked fine.
Looking at your OS version, I know there is an update available. I haven't gotten it yet, but you might try it to see if your problem clears up.

My phone is on the latest OS available to it. There is an even newer firmware that some people have (20010).

Same OS version number: 8.0.10211.204
I have the older firmware. Maybe that's what it wants to update. I figured it was an OS update.
I got my Pixel 3 unlocked from Google a couple of days ago. I really love the phone, but oddly, every time that I call my wife and I'm on speaker, it always takes 8-10 seconds for her to be able to hear me. This happens with no one else, as I've called multiple people on speaker. Google offered to RMA the device, but I'm not convinced that it's a hardware issue. If it's a software issue that will likely be fixed in the future, I will just keep this one. I'm not entirely sure what to make of it, but I don't really want to go through the RMA process just for it to continue happening. Has anyone else had similar experiences? From what I can see on Reddit and elsewhere, it appears to be a rather commonplace issue. I just can't justify waiting for another device to solve a wide spread problem. If it was a fluke issue, then a factory replacement wouldn't make me nervous. I think that I am just going to return the device for a full refund and wait for something else to come out. Sucks though, because I otherwise loved this phone.
I have noticed this as well. I try to talk over the speaker and the person on the other end can't hear me for a little bit. I might try to RMA the phone. How'd you go about talked to Google Support about the issue? A phone call, chat or email?

I was using the chat service, it worked fine. I haven't RMA'd the device. I went and got a new SIM card from AT&T and it seems better. I did tons of test calls to other people on different carriers and it only ever happened with my wife, who is in Verizon. For that reason, I don't think there is a hardware issue with my device, but I don't know what it might be.

I figured it out while I was messing with it yesterday. Turn off HD voice. "enhanced LTE" in the network settings menu and that fixes it. I am on AT&T and had great connectivity with same carrier subscribers, Sprint, and others. I tried calling multiple friends with Verizon and had the issue every time. So I just turned it off.
Update: it looks like December update fix my issue. Will update again if something happen
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
This speakerphone issue is happening to me using TMobile and also using Whatsapp calls.
I noticed this issue because the phone is also not connecting to my Honda Civic 2016 Bluetooth and tried using the speakers.
I'll wait for December 2018 update and make lot of test before I contact Google.
I'm using the regular Pixel 3 white.
I have the same issue,,,when I first get a call and answer it with speakerphone no one can hear me for a few seconds then if I toggle speaker off then back on it works okay??

Doesn't this remove the ability to use group chats?
I got my wife the Pixel 3 at launch and we're on the 3rd phone because of this issue and it's still happening. It only happens on speakerphone (not regular) and her speakers seem to be fine which makes me think it's software and not hardware.

I agree with you. I think I'm still having issues with it even without it on. My wife is still saying it sounds like I'm in a tunnel any time I'm on speaker. I hope they get this resolved, and ASAP.

I am wondering if anyone has tried turning off the wifi calling option? I havent tried that yet as it is the only thing I havent tried to see if my phone doesnt have problems when first answering a call with the phones speakerphone and people on the other end not being able to hear me for the first few seconds? I saw in a Google thread that there may be a problem with the handoff of wifi to actual LTE calling and it makes it difficult for the phones speaker to know where to apply the sound to? I dont have a sim in my phone currently so I am wondering anyone else tried this to see?

I may have found a fix for this. Need you guys to confirm.
Goto the permissions of Google play services, and disable MIC permission. During phone calls you will see a 'this app needs permissions to run blah blah' ignore it. Test speaker phone now. I stumbled upon someone who mentioned this (can't find the post now) and I have had 0 issues w/ straight speaker phone.

My wife has this issue with her new Pixel 3 - oddly not when calling me (I have an S8) but when calling 3 other confirmed people (who [co-incidentally] all have iphones?). Even talking to them over handset first which is obviously fine, when she switches to speaker mid-call they can't hear her.
We tried this but she still has the issue.
