Hello, I'm wondering if it is possible to switch from the Hiboard news feed to Google news feed, after GMS is installed? I've seen a thread for doing this on Mate 20 (on the link below), though as you know, that phone still supports Google, whereas Mate 30 Pro doesn't and I'm not sure what side-effects could occur. Has anybody already tried to change it?

Doesn't work.
You can still disable Hiboard with ADB but the Feed option does not appear afterwards.
I understand And has anybody tried and succeeded making it work any other way?

I need the Youtube program too!! if I put an original HTC rom on the phone as a replacement
1. will the youtube program work?

T-Mobile aren't blocking the YouTUbe app. I suspect that the Youtube App was taken out in error as they haven't taken it out of any of their other devices (such as the G2 Touch), and that supports high quality YouTube clips, as does the T-Mobile Touch 2 and probably loads more of their handsets.
Make sure you get the childlock removed on TMObile. you have to ring them up to do this. It stops you viewing any user generated (potentially nasty) content. Crazy that it's on by default and they make you turn it off rather than the other way around.
I had to ring up twice to get them to do it for me.
Saying that, now YouTube works perfectly over HSDPA but not over WiFi.
Oh and I also removed TMobiles proxy that is set up. This was stopping Twitter from working so I don't know if that had an affect on YoUTube also
I asked TMobile tech support about the proxy and why it was needed and why it was added if it can just be removed but they couldn't tell me anything. They had no clue and could only advise me on what the settings should be.

As Chimp said, TMobile block practically all video sites through the phones data conection, not the WiFi.
This will stop any videos downloading through the YouTube app. Only way you can get round it is calling them up, getting the block removed and away you go.
Some what annoying, when you give them your D.O.B anyway... surely they must know you're over 18 to watch "inapropriate" videos anyway!?
You can just log into the t-mobile website and untick the content block, no need to bother calling them up going through the countless menus.

t mobile uk did not remove this all there phones they sent out were pre relese phones if you speak to them or go on there web site all say coming soon only a few of us got our hands on it from tmob and we all were missing the lether cover youtube and copilot7

I am a registered developer for WP7 and I got an invite from Microsoft to get Mango for my phone, and I did.
My questions is this: on engadget.com, I saw a video of a phone running a newer version of Mango, with a few extra features (visual voicemail, bing something, etc)
How can I get that? Or is it only available to certain devs?
Searched around, have yet to see any answers.

If you can give us that information, perhaps someone can tell you more.
can somebody explain to me why I dont have bing audio in mango beta 2? is it region specific too? I am located in surabaya indonesia with telkomsel. developer unlocked...
or nobody has it on their beta 2?

I am located in the US, on AT&T, with a Samsung Focus.
The new Bing map features were demonstrated using an example from NYC, so if anything, this should be available in the US.

I've got it on mine. Tested it too and works. I'm in the US. I wonder if there's any way to trick the Zune software, maybe connect through a proxy or something.

Visual Voicemail is available only on t-mobile in the US.. I have a focus on at&t.. so I don't get it either..
Bing Vision, Bing Music, Bing Maps w/ turn by turn directions and Local Scout all work on my device.
Facebook chat works as well, it just needs to be linked to windows live via live.com before it will work.
I saw at least one video with an unlocked focus running on t-mobile that was demonstrating the visual voicemail feature in mango.
Anybody able to make bing audio work outside us? Tried changing the region settings to us and did not work.
My settings are set to australia, but my actual location is in surabaya, indonesia.
if i disable location from search settings, its worse, local scout button is missing haha.
in germany its also working. turn by turn navigation and voicemail/sms ...

Oh ok, I see. I hope the retail version of mango is the same for everyone. Now off to figure out a way to get it on my phone. If I have any success, I'll post here. I'll message you too.

lack of visual voicemail is reportedly not an OS problem.. it's an at&t network problem.
They have to have it set up on their end.. and they don't have it for any phone but the iPhone.

I made it so that it posts a bingmaps location. Though today I have read that there is Facebook Check-in for this, though I couldn't find a tutorial or whatsoever related to this.

Why reimplement an already working solution? Goto Me and use checkin option. It is working in Mango and I use it quite often.

Press the plus sign at the bottom to get gps positions and create you own location first. Than you can choose from others.

I have searched far and wide and I can not find any decent help on how to do this... mi 9t pro is my 5th xiaomi phone and after some system upgrade (maybe to MIUI 12) I have lost the ability to create direct dial widget.
Normally I would do it like so many guides show:
Open the Contacts app
Choose a contact
Open the menu
Tap on Place on Home screen
Choose View contact or Direct dial
Tap on OK
The problem is that the step 5 does not appear, it automatically creates a view contact shortcut. And I want Direct dial :/
Same problem with my latest Redmi note 9 pro, but still works okay on the aging Redmi note 7.
Any ideas or workarounds? Any 3rd party apps that can do this?

The bug's still there. Very annoying. As the OP wrote, you can place contacts on home screen, but you are not asked to choose between "View contact" and "Direct call".

I had the same issue on 11T. After changing to Poco Launcher, you can find, in Widgets, the Direct Dial button.
After updating to MIUI 13, Poco Launcher crashes.
Hi, not been here for a loong time... Just got an A5 pro (thought I'd ordered cc but nevermind.. )
I want to be able to use it without Google... But having issues with sms and other apps (WhatsApp and email clients) not giving notifications.. Anyone had any bother with this or have a solution to fix it? I followed the guide about using adb to kill the trackers n such from reddit eink sub.... But have since updated it.. Should I run these again? Or is there a way to clean the original apps of trackers?
It seems like the sms functionality just kinda dissapears and I missed some important messages.. I understand people are working on a custom rom / root with g apps... Just hoping I won't have to go that route to get sms constant..
