Hi,
Am using MX Player on an android box with OS 7.12, 3GB ram heaps of rom available. Was working fine up until recently.
I get about 10 minutes of video before a freeze. After backing out of the app with a right click I usually get a crash. Doesn't matter if I have the video on an external drive or stream something, same result. Clearing data on the app seems to let the video play a little longer until the crash, then it just repeats. I can see the errors in the log but I have no idea what do do with it.
I'd really prefer not to have to clean install. Any ideas?

Is anyone's VPlayer FCing on them? I was using it yesterday morning and afternoon and all was fine. Transferred some files over to the phone just now and now I can't use the app anymore as it keeps on FCing on me. The app is removed from the Market as well so I'm not sure if the two are related.
Also, does anyone have a video player app that they recommend? It has to be able to play RMVB files smoothly.
Gave ArcMedia another try after speeding up my SD card and it doesn't lag anymore, but the audio and video slowly gets out of sync.
As for VPlayer, it continues to FC. Looks like we got shafted again.
The video player can play a video taken from camcorder just fine. However, the screen goes black and app does not respond after the video ends. Able to use home key to return to home page, but the app is unresponsive until force close and restarted. I get the same result when viewing videos thru the camcorder mode or directly from the native video player app. Is there something I have overlooked?
Not sure if this went on with prior version as I am only putting the rom through its paces seeing how stable this version has been for me. Thanks for any insight anyone may be able to shed. By the way, I've tried both the 2d & 3.1 kernel with similar results.
Delete the .apk, clear cache partition and dalvik cache, fix permissions, reboot let phone sit 10 minutes then push the video player .apk from the stock rom and see if that helps. Or download a different one from the market.

Thanks for your help.
Does that mean it is working? I hope so. Add [SOLVED] to the thread title. Thanks.
I recommend deleting the original video player and installing mx video player from the market. Much much better...

Stock unhacked 32gb black.
For AVIs and MKVs, I've always used BSplayer without problems. I've put my first videos on the Nexus 5 today, and AVI and an MKV, and they play perfectly fine, except without video.
I got the impression this is a problem with my Nexus 5, but so I naturally cleared the BSplayer's app data and cache and uninstalled, rebooted the device, and reinstalled just to rule out a bad install as the problem. Sure enough, no video again.
So I go through the ritual of clearing, uninstalling, and rebooting, and tried to grab a different media player from the store to rule out media players as the problem, but this time I don't have the Play Store! WTF? I just reset my device and I'll keep you guys posted, but is anyone else having or hearing about these problems? Particularly the lack of video playback, because I can just side load the Play Store if I don't feel like resetting the device.
After resetting device, still no video playback in BSplayer, even after switching decoding modes. MXplayer is able to play the MKV file perfectly, but crashes with the AVI...
I am having same issue. BS Player is my go to. I don't have video when streaming along w local files.

"Not working" is a bit rought, since they're properly start with Gallery, G+ photo app or VLC, but all three apps are crashing after a while. Could anyone confirm this?
What about those who did a hard reset, to fix the APK install error, are you able to watch streams without any crashes?
It just gets stuck on 00:00. While streaming, loads fully but does not play. And when I forward it, I can see the video Images but won't play. I tried updating the app and tried many different versions of the app, but still no luck. The same videos play well in stock or other players. But I really want Mx Player to work. Please help. I'm using DN4 Rom on my Samsung galaxy s3 i9300. Ty in advance.

In which decoder?
If you have enabled H/W+ decoder (Network) or S/W decoder (Network), disable them and try again.
H/W decoder may work better in some occasions like buffering or authentication issues.
Ty. It's working now. Seems that the option "Stop other players" was causing the problem(see attachment). After almost going through each and every possible option and different settings. I found that disabling this option was the only thing I needed to do. Lol. Now all the videos are playing fine during call and when not on call. Ty for ur help and support. Peace ¥

I have this exact problem. I'm using an Android media player. MX Player used to work but recently, for an unknown reason, videos do not play and they are stuck at 00:00. The above solution did not resolve my problem. Disabling H/W+ (Network) did not work. Using H/W+, H/W or S/W encoding didn't work either. Neither does uninstalling and installing again.
What can I do?

I am keeps on asking logs. But, no one is providing the logs. There can be multiple reasons for a similar problem. So, until or unless we look into logs we can't provide the exact solution for your issue.
