Move from beta to most recent stable ? - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

Rooted and magisk installed on beta 9, is it possible to go back to most recent stable firmware with out downgrading first?

Just download stable version , place on root and update localy
Sent from my GM1910 using Tapatalk

Tried and installer said couldn't install because firmware is lower then installed ....but then oxygen updated wasn't granted root permission

I needed to use MSMTool... It was a pain in the arse... Check around XDA how to use this MSMTool, there are some tutorials around.
Edit: sorry, forgot to mention that it will downgrade and wipe all your data.

Update Magisk?

Currently running stock ROM on an unlocked and rooted phone.
Magisk manager reports an update available.. can I just download and install this?
I've seem posts saying you need to reflash the entire ROM but wanted to double check.
Thanks

I downloaded the latest beta version, flashed it with TWRP and restarted. It booted and has been working just fine, didn't have to re-flash the ROM.

All it's doing is updating the manager itself, not magisk. You're fine and should have no problems.
Actually Both Magisk and the Manager have updates.
I updated both via the app.
No Issues, Safe to update.

How to roll back / install 9.0.2 from beta 6

Hello, I have a questions. How to install a new official update 9.0.2 from beta 6?
If I tried that, phone told me, that I have a newer version so it can not be installed.

Need help with updating to latest OS

I recently downgraded from OS beta 16 to OS 9.5.2. Now I want to upgrade to the latest one OS 10.3.3. i even downloaded the full version. but when trying to install it says failed.
Good evening mate,
well, in your case, you should just use the MSMTools. It's a software which we can use to install any version of the OOS, but obviously, each version flashes the build it was built for.
Just go to this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7/how-to/op7-unbrick-tool-to-restore-device-to-t3954325/
thanks to @Some_Random_Username
There, you should see some spoiler buttons, just choose the one you want, download the software and then follow the instructions at the bottom of that post.
Remember, using this software LOCKS your bootloader and also WIPE everything on the device.
My advise is to choose GM57BA 10.3.2, and then just update to 10.3.3 by OTA.

Yes I tried using it yesterday but I stupidly updated to 9.5.8. But I have the same problem not getting any OTA updates. Now I will install 10.3.2. But is it guaranteed to get OTA since I dint get any when 9.5.8 was installed through MSMTools. Thank you

From OOS11 open beta 2 to stable

Hey guys!
I'm currently running the open beta 2 of OxygenOS11 and saw that the stable version just got released.
I usually use Oxygen Updater to get updates, but how do you switch from beta to stable?
Is a full reset needed?
Oxygen updater also doesn't show any updates (under the different options like full update, beta, incremental, etc), so not sure how to switch to stable in the first place...
There's a "revert to stock" zip data on the OnePlus Forum for the beta releases, this zip is the only one to get back to stable without any pc or something, you just have to install that zip (it will format data) that will bring you back to stable and from there you have to install the new Android 11 stable update. And no there is no way to keep data. You can make backup's, that's it
I just installed the Global OnePlus 8 11 Stable build from XDA over my OOS B2. Didn't bother with going back to stock. It did reset the device, but it worked just fine.

Global Download link: http://otafsg1.h2os.com/patch/amazo....30_OTA_0300_all_2010031624_c5e68b42b3325.zip
Full disclosure: This is a T-Mobile device I had previously "converted" to Global.

I used the "local upgrade" option and installed right over beta 2. I use magisk, flashed to inactive slot after that. Everything seems to be working just fine now

By reset to you mean it won't wipe the data?

Yes it does wipe data going from ob2 to stable.. also I couldn't get magisk to work in inactive slot without flashing extracted boot.img again.. but works so all good

2nd attempt to upgrade to 12.2.4.0 from 12.0.4.0 failed and resulting in storage wipe

Hi,
I would like to know if anybody encountered this. This is my second time encountering this issue. I was on 12.0.4 and received a notification to perform update to 12.4.0. After downloading and rebooting, my twrp launched and after a few seconds instead of flashing, it went to the main menu page. After that, the phone just goes to fastboot mode and refused to boot. My phone has been rooted with magisk. Much appreciated for experts inputs.
The only way for me to boot my phone is to do a clean flash using mi flash tool and fallback to the old version...
Thank you.

V12.0.4.0.QJKMIXM is a android 10 stable rom and V12.2.4.0.RJKMIXM is a android 11 stable beta rom which has many bugs.
V12.2.4.0.RJKEUXM is a stable rom that you can flash with miflash(but EEA not global).
After successfully going to v12.2.4.0, now I am finding that my current TWRP 3.4.1b unable to decrypt the phone thus not able to root it. I guess I have to fall back to 12.0.4.0 to be safe... I was tempted to go to 12.2.4.0 due to android 11 but looks like it's too problematic now due to beta. I was actually wondering why beta was pushed to me.

You are not the only one, many users have reported this problem to XDA and c.mi.com
Try xiaomi.eu_multi_HMK30Pro_V12.2.2.0.RJKCNXM_v12-11 better than stock and on android 11.

Try flashing stock recovery before performing ota update. Flashing ota via twrp cause /storage inaccessible for me.
Thanks, so you updated with stock recovery without issues but are you able to flash twrp with the updated rom?

Is that the most stable android 10 based on miui? I'm thinking about downgrading to many android 11 bugs on 12.2.4.0 global

Yes i am able to successfully flashed twrp via fastboot afterward and directly proceed to root using magisk.
Everything works as usual, except, for me atleast, twrp now require pattern-type (3x3 dot) as password for decryption. Pin or character doesnt works.
Deleted.
To solve update problem you need to Rollback to stable stock rom, I used this:
Code:
lmi_global_images_V12.2.4.0.RJKMIXM_20201228.0000.00_11.0_global
extracted it.
then used mi flash from this toolkit:
Code:
mi-globe.com_Xiaomi_MiFlash_Pro_EN_5.3.1104.39.exe
sorry, but I cant provide links to downloads.

This is nothing new. With the bootloader unlock you can flash any version of stock rom with miflash.
