Is this the international version? Because when I flash this rom, when I enter pin passcode before I don't need to click the check mark, I only need to enter the number now Everytime I have to press on check mark which is annoying. I use to change this on setting but now it's gone.

There isn't a US version per se. What your on is the latest version of OOS for our device for basically the entire world outside of China and some other Asian countries. Unless you have a T-Mobile variant there is little difference converting back. As for the passcode, pretty sure that's an Android 10 thing I think.

Why the F they remove that thing, now we have to press the check every time. I know it's a little thing but that makes this phone amazing dumb OnePlus. Thanks man I appreciate it. Thought I flashed an international rom since I used XMB restore. Issue there a magisk or tweak to remove this stupid idea check lol

for the "check mark" thing on the lock screen, just go to settings > security & Lock screen > screen lock and then re-configure your pin, like if you want to set a new one, and there's the option to confirm the pin without checking the "check mark" ( i mean, when you try to configure a new pin)
Sorry for my bad english, it's not my main language, and hope that's help.

Bro thanks it works again, you have to make new pin omg

I need expert help asap!! Fake/clone? Rooted.

So I went and bought a nice Galaxy s6 64gb today off a local website... the box imei and phone matched up. Looked great and the price was right (a little too right).
I just read an article on how to spot a fake and the majority of it does not apply... the only thing that did was my flash window looks yellow but its a working flash. Resolution looks great, sim slot hole isnat the top, when i go to download mode, its english and states the rogers model #. It was suppose to be a rogers device....
I tried downloading odin, rogers official firware but it just fails!
The bottom line is, i need to know what the heck the phone is... so i can unlock it to work.
Here is the WEIRD STUFF! It has superuser installed, so its been rooted and most likely a custom rom. When i go into settings... it gets weird. Device name Galaxy s6 EDGE!?
MODEL #sm-G925k (download mode says rogers proper model #. Baseband version g920w8vlu2bO16
Build xtrestolite deo mod 2.4
So, any help figurimg out what model and or carrier its locked to would be appreciated. If it is infact a rogers phone, like a few clues point to... why wont it take the rogers firrmware!?
First goal is to unlock it for use, second would be to have the settings make sense?!
Thanks in advance

It is a bit difficult to catch your English, so some screenshots from what you are describing would help so much.
Anyway, first at all, you wanted to bought a new s6 or a used s6? Also, are you asking if your device is a clone/fake s6, or you know it is a clone and you are just asking about it to other clone s6 owners?
Enviado desde mi SM-T520 usando Tapatalk 2
I tried attaching the photos... can i do that via the website?
I first thought it might be a fake because of all the crazyness.... but so many other things point to it to being legit. I bought it used.
But the device name, firmware.... is all messed up. I need to unlock it, so i need to know what carrier it is locked to. Then, id like to restore it to factory oem os. No root, no rom
Try official firmware from sammobile and flash via odin.
Link? My concern is... i dont really know what firmware to use because im not sure of the model.
The one i did download and try was the rogers official rom from xda/androidromz
Thx

If flashing original s6 stock rom from Samsung worked fine on four device, it means it is a original s6; otherwise, if it would have been a clone, it would have bricked your phone.

Dude upload images of your phone on and off just post pictures use google look for image upload or do something post photos
in xstrestolite rom even on my g920f was showing g925f, so I guess thats normal for that rom, all other roms and fw showed g920f

How to downgrade from Nougat 7 to Marshmellow 6.0.1

How to downgrade from Nougat 7 to Marshmellow 6.0.1
If you want to save the thing's you currently have on your device, then do a backup using Samsung Smart-Switch.. Because everything WILL be deleted!
First open settings and go to about phone then tap 6 to 7 times on the Build Number until you see developer mode activated. Then go back to the settings list and look for Developer Options and tap it. Now look for OEM unlock and turn it on. This step is important and NEEDS to be done or you'll have problems later, not kidding!! In the same list as OEM unlock, look for, and make sure USB Debugging is on.. Make sure you have no accounts on the phone before starting this( if you're not going to enable OEM unlock) delete all of them especially Google accounts! If you don't do this you can be locked out for 72 hours! Delete any fingerprints and lock screen pins also!! (Create your backup using Samsung Smart Switch or KIES or whichever you want BEFORE deleting any accounts!! Meaning LEAVE your Google account on the phone until your backup is FINISHED and THEN you can remove it.)
On a Windows desktop download odin(unless you already have it) and download firmware number N920VVRS3BPI1 from my Android File Host here ----> N920VVRS3BPI1 onto your windows desktop. If you use any other firmware besides the one I'm posting, it may or may not work so I suggest you use this one first.
After downloading the firmware shut your phone off (Did you make your backup and save your stuff FIRST? If not DON'T start this) and then put it into download mode by holding the volume down button, the home button and the power button at the same exact time (all 3 together). When the screen turns on immediately let go of the buttons and press the volume up button to continue. At this point odin should be open on your Windows computer, connect the phone and when you see it says added on odin you need to go into options and uncheck auto reboot, you NEED to do this! This is the only thing you SHOULD be ticking in these settings, do not tick on re-partition or anything else. Then go back and tap AP and select the firmware N920VVRS3BPI1 that you downloaded (extract it 1 time on your PC first) and after it verifies (odin might crash and say it's not responding on some systems, just leave it be it will finish and work again) then tap start and let it finish. When odin finally says PASS and you see successful 1/ failed 0 then disconnect the phone and immediately press and hold the volume down button and power button at the same time and when the screen comes back on select factory reset and after its finished the phone will reboot on it's own and you're done and booting back to Marshmallow 6.0.1.
If you don't follow these steps correctly you're liable to get stuck or something else and your phone is not my responsibility if you do something wrong and it doesn't work it's because you made the conscious decision to do it likely you'll have no problem with this if you follow directions!!! I did all the testing on my own Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Verizon model before posting this and did it several times to be sure it worked correctly.
can you help me please with Note 5
can you help me please with Note 5
I have bought a Samsung note 5 from Dubai and it is working on my sim card at Egypt internationally for 5 months without problem.
I discovered that it is a Verizon modified to work internationally!!!.
However I was going to sell it and i did a factory hard reset to delete my personal data then the night mare began.
First of all the phone stuck at the set screen of accepting the terms and never reached the point where i can input my google email and password, whenever I accept the terms it get back to the first screen of language selection.
then i tired some pc applications to bypass the FRP lock but one of them made an uncomplete download which give an error and i can only enter the odin download mode nothing else ??
My question now is will your firmware N920VVRS3BPI1 solve this problem and let me use my local/international sim card line as before or shall it get me back to Verizon original firmware that is locked only to their lines ??
an update :
I have installed the firmware N920VVRS3BPI1 and it was amazing and working very well .... although it started with Verzion logo at beginning where i had a nightmare ha ha ha ... but after start every thing was ok and the sim card was accepted from Vodafone.

Just so you know you're using the wrong firmware on that phone because it's a N920F not a N920V that phone has an unlocked bootloader and can be rooted with chainfires root and it can pretty much accept whatever firmware because of the unlocked bootloader.

But does this mean that I can install firmware from N920C for example ??
And I can upgrade to Android 7 ?
And still my Sim card from Vodafone can be working without being locked ????

There is a F model it's the international one.
SM-N920F
And it says Verizon now because he flashed the firmware from my android file host account.
Personally I don't think the phones real because that F version usually means that it's a knock off from Thailand.

In Europe galaxy note 5 is N920C. F version is a Verizon version, just аltered by unknown way. N920F version never existed only as a disguised N920V. Just google it and you will see. There is no official firmware for "N920F".

I know but as I said the F version is usually a knock off from Thailand. Personally I don't even think it's real because if the bootloader is locked then how did they get it to say F? The only way to do that is to open the phone and change the chip inside because there's no way a real Verizon Note 5 would be able to do that.

You should download something called phone info for Samsung so you can make sure the phone is real and not a knock off.. It should have the same exact specs a real one has and if it doesn't it's probably a fake one.
the phone info app is showing a real phone data ...... but when I enter the digits #*0*# it doesn't bring the test screen and the code *#06# doesn't show the IMEI .... is this normal for the Verizon phones ????
I may give this a go. Since receiving a replacement phone fr my original overheating one and getting Nougat update, this phone has been a pain...a real pain. Making phone calls activates the external speaker. I have to tap the speaker icon 3 times to get the ear piece speaker going then when call is answered it kicks back to the external speaker. Very fun in restaurants. Using Bluetooth radio while driving....forget it. Gmail will not download automatically. I'm about to go back to my Note 2.
Sorry for hijacking this thread.

Download the updated firmware version you want and flash it using odin which is for flashing Samsung phones. Make a note of your APN first before you do the update because you might have to enter that information yourself in Settings>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names (APN)..
In order to flash firmware using odin on a Windows PC you need to put the phone in Download mode by first turning the phone off and then holding the volume down button, the home button and the power button all at the SAME TIME and when the screen turns on let go and press the volume up button to continue and then in odin select AP slot and select your .tar.md5 firmware update you downloaded and wait for odin to finish scanning it after it's done scanning press start and wait until it's done and the phone reboots..
Before you even do any of this turn on developer options by going to Settings>About phone and tapping on the words "build number" about 7 to 10 times rapidly after it turns on press the back button and you'll see developer options on the list now go in there and turn on OEM unlock.. If you DON'T do this you can end up locked out of the phone after the update so do this before you do anything and I'm not kidding you can end up locked out of your own phone!! After the phone is updated put your APN information back in if you have to and you should also have the option to enable or disable WiFi calling and other stuff.
Wow .. I don't understand any of this .. lol you think I could get it done by someone ?

If you are in the USA you're either going to have to ask T-Mobile if they can do it for you or I do, do that type of stuff but unfortunately that's going to require you sending the phone.. But it's really not as hard as it seems it's actually really easy to do it just seems hard because of the amount of steps involved in it. I'm currently at work in Fort Benning in the Military and I will be home later tonight and I can try to walk you through it if you want but I suggest you download the firmware update now because it's about 2.5GB and if you have a slow connection and no WiFi it's going to take awhile to finish... I'll send a link for you so you can download it because you can't do it without it.. What is the firmware version you are currently on? Tap settings>About phone and tell me what it says under "Baseband version"..

Looks like you're already on the latest version so you can't update any further because you're on the very last update, and you should be able to to toggle WiFi calling on and off if you want.. If you're not able to do certain things it's probably because Verizon and T-Mobile use different bands and the phone is using bands set for Verizon and not T-Mobile... You probably should just go to T-Mobile and ask them to either see if they can set the the APN the right way or see why it's not doing what you want.
1) You're not going to flash the t-mobile firmware to this phone. That's not possible.
2) The n920v is bootloader locked. Flipping the OEM Unlock option is not going to change that. It's just there for looks.
3) You also won't get wifi/video calling on t-mobile using the verizon-only phone.
The only things you'll be able to get working with using t-mobile on the n920v is 2/3/4g and bands 2/4 of LTE.

Hello forum, sorry if the question i am going to ask is a bit noob. I have a mate 9 (MHA-L29C605B111 CUSTC605D111). The thing is i am getting annoyed by the notifications in numners not the icon. The thing is via FF i only find the MHA-L29BC605B111 CUSTC605D162. That cust is the same as a friend of mine which has the icons. My questions are:
1) Is there a command to enable the icons?
2) Is there any risk via FF to change from C605 to BC605 as is only OTA-MF?
3) Is this the correct way to change the CUSTID?
Thank you for every help you may give me as i am new in the huawei world!!:good::good:

1. No. Huawei uses numbers in old ROMs. But in new ROMs you can select numbers or icons.
2. You can not change ROM via OTA-MF in this case. This type of ROM contains difference between previous version and current only. If you will flash it over other ROM (non-native) - ROM will not be flashed. I don't know what difference between cust D111 and D165.
Symbol 'B' in MHA-L29BC605 means beta or test.
Maybe, you can flash but ROM version is same B111, so very little chances to flash by OTA type.
If you're not planning to sell phone or not using special functional from your mobile operator, it is better to rebrand on world or china ROM. The most popular are C636 (Asia Pacific), C432 (Europe), C00 (China). But you will lost ability to return on your customization, cause there is no full version of your current ROM.

Many thanks. I am a little afraid of rebranding at the moment. I do not understand de process correctly and I do not want to mess up my phone. I do not understand what is important about my operator, as this phone is not from an operator or the man who sell it to me said that, as i live in argentina this phone is not available here and i do not know from which country is from. Is there a posibility that i get otas or i will be stuck in this?

Where is your phone from? How you bought it?
Unfortunately, phones with extra customization are not updated often. I reviewed many stock ROMs, and ROMs with cust are hosted without FullOTA type even! So it is very hard to restore original state back.
Imho, if anyone wants buy Mate 9 and don't want problems with ROM or flashing process, he/she must buy phone with popular region.
I don't wander what Huawei included in addition to region when named cust. Maybe, it is special settings for domestic mobile operators, maybe some bloatware, maybe something else.
About existing OTAs.
Need to download them all and check what is inside. Changelogs are different, so it is chance that files are incremental. But I will travel for 2 weeks and without ability to get internet. Sorry.
I bought my phone to a guy who import them here in argentina. But i do not have any carrier branding in the ROM and i put my chip and it is not branded. Does my carrier affect in the time of the updates or no? As is not branded. I just reading reddit that the chip you put in the phone affects otas as mine c605 is destinated to colombia and mine is from argentina. Is really true that? In addition that since i bought the phone (1st May 2017) never received an OTA and still on october 2016 security patch.

Well man. Thnxs for all your info. I got the guts to rebrand this thing. Everything went OK in the first try. The only weird thing that make me crap my pants was that after the rebranding process (When i has finished intalling in the EMUI recovery) the phone start rebooting as crazy :crying: :crying: . It posted huawei logo, then black screen and start rebooting not allowing to enter either fastboot or ADB, after some time doing that the phone booted OK :victory: . Then flashed again the same model option and it was all a huge success :highfive:. Was the rebooting normal o not? Because in the guide that was translated to spanish that was a bit more accurate did not mention anything neither here. Any way, my phone is OK now i have the icons that was the thing that bothered me a lot and i am happy with that, THANKS TO EVERYONE :highfive::highfive:

Question Which version of the March update should I patch and update with?

I bought my now rooted 6A via Aliexpress, and I live in Canada.
Current version is TQ1A.230205.002.
Looking through past updates, this is the first time they've singled out "Canada" for a specific update... Which version should I be patching/flashing, given that my phone came from overseas (but has the NA bands)?

From what I can see, Windtre is a specific carrier. I would go with The standard version for unlocked phones. If that's wrong then the process should abort itself before making any changes
The specific versions seem to be based on carriers. Wind Tre looks like an Italian carrier, so I'd guess the "Canada" applies for use with all Canadian carriers. Or, it may be based on some regulatory difference. Google sucks at transparency. But, the specific versions come and go, so I'd guess they're all about something which didn't get integrated into the mainline code in time, so they had to create a special version.
I would go with the WINDTRE/Canada version. You're rooted, so you could always switch if you have trouble.

Or if it is the wrong one you can just flash right over it with the Canadian one. But I really think that is for a French or Italian Canadian carrier that you don't subscribe to.

Really, where'd you find that? I just found links to an Italian carrier. Windtre isn't listed in Wikipedia's list.

Okay I'll patch both of them first, then I'll see what sticks, thanks!
Follow up question: how do you do a nandroid backup?
I went to find TWRP and apparently boot.img is now part of the recovery partition so it won't work?
Can I just boot to TWRP using adb/fastboot from my computer to make the backup?
Just got this phone recently, so I haven't had the need to backup + update until now... Plus the whole "patching the security exploit" thing.
Dude, I would not start with the Windtre one. Sounds like it could just be a striped down/limited version. It looks like that rom might specifically limit access to specific bands that Windtre doesn't allow their customers to access.
I found this on Reddit about the pixel 7:
Google "even limited the band bandwidth on NR, like 20mhz for N3
It isn't a huge problem, unless some operator add/remove bandwidth on a certain NR band
This is the case with WINDTRE (Italy, 222-88): they recently added 20mhz to their N78 spectrum (before it was max 40mhz on some regions, others 20mhz, now every region is 60mhz) and now you can't use their N78 at all
Why?
Because on their carrier policy, WindTre SIMs can use only 40mhz, 20mhz and 40+20mhz on N78 (last case is NR CA, not 60mhz)
It's really great to have a 900€ phone (Pixel 7 Pro) that can't connect to N78 thanks to Google "
Good luck. Let us know how it goes!

If you find a good back up process, lemme know. I need a good recovery option, too.
I did find this elaborate process on Reddit: I HAVE NEVER TRIED IT.

You guys had me worried, and couldn't even get the phone to get the update notification (to check the version of the update).
But when I was looking at downloading the two versions on Google's ROM depository I noticed that you can directly update the phone through Chrome on my desktop???
Man, has tech changed since my last phone (Mi A1 on Oreo)...
It ended up flashing the Global ROM, so the Italian/Canadian one wouldn't have worked.
Gave up on backing up my phone, so I just exported/uploaded the settings for my launcher + AOSP mods + a couple of others then just went for it.
Thanks again for the assistance!

Android flash tool: https://developers.google.com/android/images
Just scroll down to the image you want and click "flash" next to it
It'll give you instructions, as well as help you with the drivers if Chrome can't detect the phone, then will reboot it into bootloader, then recovery, then back to normal boot into an updated phone.
Make sure to check that the drivers for recovery/bootloader modes are already installed by booting into them beforehand... Otherwise you'll have a small panic as I did and have to boot your phone again manually by holding the power + volume down keys for 30ish seconds (until it reboots) due to Chrome not detecting your phone.
I'd also suggest using a back USB port on your mobo rather than plugging it into any of the front USB headers.

Oh wow. Thanks! I had no idea about this. I'll give it a try next time I have time to phone out!
Thanks again

??? The flash tool should install whichever image you choose. I've never tried picking a completely wrong one, but I suspect it does have a simple check that at least you're flashing for the correct platform (e.g. Pixel 6a).
The carrier versions are what gets sent as an OTA update via the particular carrier(s). It's not clear how you determined that the carrier specific one "wouldn't have worked." I suspect either would boot and "work", although the incorrect one may not take full advantage of the carrier's capabilities or may experience minor issues. Google has never provided guidance on exactly what types of differences there are.

All I know is that I didn't get a warning, the global ROM's bands are working with my carrier's (Public Mobile - a subsidiary of Telus) after being flashed, and as you've stated Google hasn't been open with the differences... so I'm going to err on the side of caution (and international compatibility) and stick with what works.
I may revisit it if I travel inter-provincially and discover issues with coverage, but the US bands are what are compatible with what's used in Ontario.
