Upgrade from 2.10.401.5 to 2.10.401.8

Hi all
As many of you I have made unlocking the bootloader on HTCDEV
I installed the ext recovery and the superuser so I upgraded the firmware flash update via RUU from 1.28 to 2.10.401.5.
Now I get an update via FOTA it is about 6.70 Mb I think is version 2.10.401.8.
Can I upgrade via FOTA or I need run this update also via RUU?
Someone did it?

The OTA will download, but it will not update successfully with Ext4 recovery in place. You would need to relock your bootloader and use the RUU.

Why don't you just install the prerooted version of 2.10.401.8 found here:

Yes, once in install a custom recovery, you can boot into recovery and install a custom ROM.

sorry how i can install RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.9_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04_M_release_234765_signed.exe ? It is a .exe so not .img to put on sd card and run by recovery.
please help me i'm confused i rooted my phone with difficolty many time ago and I don't remember anything...

WANT TO S-OFF on 3.32 W/O JB

I have been running custom android roms for about 2 months. I rooted when i was running 3.32 firmware on my sensation but it didnt s-off. and i learnt about JB-wiretrick which offcourse doesn't work. my sensation is also not supercid.
Anyways i just want to s-off and upgrade to 3.33 firmware.
I have heard that firmware upgrade simply isnt possible while s-on.
I want to downgrade to 1.17 and use revolutionery method to s-off.
will it be possible ?

Firmware UPGRADE is possible on SON, just flash 3.33.x RUU. However firmware DOWNGRADE can only be done on S-OFF so the only way to S-OFF 3.xx firmware is JB wire trick which works as long as you get the timing right so you may need to attempt it several times before success

Actually Kohr-Ah, the man behind user freindly firmware told me that firmware upgrade will fail on device with S-ON. and i also didnt risk because i thought it will brick my device
Have you tried it on S-ON device ?

If you do as I told you to and flash a 3.33.x RUU, the firmware will be upgraded. what kohr-ah meant is that you cant flash a PG58IMG firmware file while S-ON but I know for a fact S-ON users can flash RUU

I am downloading 3.33.x ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529941
However thread says to install firmware located http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412618
It means i shall still have to flash file PG58IMG.
Should i proceed with both steps

Neither of those is an RUU so wont work. This thread is maintained by Football and contains all RUU's available for HTC Sensation/XE/4G. Just download the 3.33.401.6 RUU exe file and run from a windows pc

I have found two files located HERE

hi dudes...i flash my phone to 2.21 with ruu file...i unlock bootloader & root & install custom recovery...i check ota update & there is no update to 2.31...my cid is htc_203...any guide to update to 2.31 from ota or must wait for 2.31 ruu file?

You may restore my stock odex NANDROID backup in development section or flash zipaligned deodexed firmware by torxx! Else changing CID to HTC__Y13 shall work for OTA update. PLEASE refrain from making new threads, there are multiple threads about OTA 2.31 update and solutions better check and search!

1. You should change the CID, as the OTA update was intended for EUR region ONLY. Else you may stick with your original CID keep a backup and restore when a WWE OTA update releases. Since this was asmall update, a proper RUU shall eventually be released with the major JB (4.1) update expected next month.
2- With my nandroid backup (since its odexed and stock, and as long as your bootloader is locked and recovery stock(after restoring the backup ofcourse)) you can receive the future OTA. WAIT.... yes a RUU for 2.31 is leaked and being uploaded in stock RUU thread, development section!

Why don't you just flash the new 2.31 RUU from dl2.0m[dot]de/ONE_S/RUUs/RUU_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.31.401.5_Radio_1.06es.50.02.31_10.09a.50.04L_release_275655_signed.exe

[Q] [S3] HTC Ville C2 RUU for CID OPTUS001 ?

Hi , is there any ruu available for my phone CID OPTUS001 (Australia) , the thing is i'm stuck with 4.0.3 & 2.09 hboot so i cant update or go back to stock ( have no backups ) , i\'ve tried changing CID no luck over there either , tried PG58IMG.zip ( wont let me edit the zip file keep saying its corrupted ) is there any other way i can just go back to stock or jump into 4.0.4 if there is please let me know

Did you manage to push 4.0.4 update somehow?
I’ve manage to boot in to trickDroid 4 (4.0.4) after couple of tries, the screen colors were inverted, sometimes only pink I guess we have to wait till the official update

Hey wallya, could you please upload the ruu for me or maybe send me a link? as i have erased my phone and am currently running trickdroid 3.0.0 (4.0.3) and have no base to go back to to check if the 4.0.4 wlil ever come out. Thanks in advance.

Well, the update is out now but I can't flash it. When I re-lock the bootloader phone only boots to bootloader and I don't have the original optus ruu to install. I managed to wipe my backup so I'm stuck. Any chance to get that ruu file you have there?

Optus users, please check This RUU and report back.
It will work only on ICS HTC One S C2 though.
Relock your bootloader before running it.
If this one doesn't run, Get any Icecream Sandwich OTA.zip from This thread for One S (S3 version only), and flash it using method given in my signature. Just SKIP steps 11 to 16..
After you install the stock ROM, update via OTA to Jellybean and keep a nandroid backup.

The RUU was crushing on start (win7 64bit) so couldn't test it.
However, your guide worked perfectly and I'm now on JB.
If anyone wants the edited OTA.zip and the required files let me know and I'll upload it.

Can u upload it if possible plz? as i tried to do this method, i get status 7 error. i am currently on hboot 2.09.

Follow the instructions from step 12.
Step 14. Flashing the firmware.zip worked the second try for me
Step 22. I did flash the boot.img to make sure it will work since I don't think I had the original one.

Update radio firmware while s on

I get terrible call quality so i want to update my radio, being s on i am going to need to this by RUU.
my cid HTC_001 and my current radio is the one that comes with the following ruu
RUU_PYRAMID_ICS_HTC_Europe_3.32.401.5_Radio_11.69.3504.00U_11.22.3504.07_M_release_246089_signed.exe
Will i then be able to flash this ruu
RUU_PYRAMID_ICS_HTC_Europe_3.33.401.53_Radio_11.76A.3504.00U_11.24A.3504.31_M_release_280871_signed.exe
and hopefully get a better radio.
Provided i flash stock fw and relock the bootloader ?
Is this right?
Is the the latest and best radio for me? also?

you can upgrade you radio in that way(by using a ruu.exe)
