OP7P With Drive Droid - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

Has anyone tried using this app with a rooted OP7P? I can't get it to work, and I feel like I may have seen something about the OP7P and being able to virtualize a CD drive

Soon to be new thunderbolt owner...

Hi all. I'm surprised to see root and dev support on this device. Im coming from Droid incredible (with cracked screen) so I'm pretty Excited about owning a more improved version. I am running a Mac and I don't want to deal with adb, so maybe if the thunderbolt will have support from unrevoked ill give root a try.
So a couple of questions. Is there any talk of miui ports to this device? Also hulu support. Can it run natively or is it modified to work on this device? Also, does this device support usb hosting?? I have a special use for that.
I think I will just stick with stock for a while anyway for I am a lil weary of keeping up with Roms to flash on my previous. I think home replacements, alternate dialers/keyboards and juice defender should tie me down for now. Perhaps unrevoked3 will persuade me someday. That and USB host support. I can't wait.

Hulu support is out... take a peek in the development section and there is a thread.
From what I've read the unrevoked method wont work. If you're on an intel mac setup a bootcamp partition or use parallels/yourFavVMProgram and you can do the "easy root S-OFF". I did it and it was simple. This is my first android phone and so far I'm loving it
As of now, only sense roms are available on the device. As soon as the RIL(radio interface layer) is fixed, we can get aosp and miui gb onto the tb. LayherDaddy a.k.a. slayher and Birdman are working endlessly to fix the ril.

IMHO I would root as soon as you get the phone; you never know when it could be patched and that could cause delays in getting root later on down the road.
Thx! And the USB hosting question. Does anyone know about that? I have a otg micro to USB adapter for dumping files from flasdrive/memory cards onto micro USB devices without computer. Does the TB support that type of functionality?

I havent seen that mentioned anywhere... Let us know if it works when you get your phone
My wife wasn't sure what she wanted for a phone... after playing with my Thunderbolt she is now wanting her own. I'm very happy with it so far.

I got my TB on Tuesday, but I've been holding off on rooting it until I'm outside of my two week exchange window, in case there's a problem and I need to exchange.
You're gonna love it.

I rooted this sucker as soon as I was able to. Got rid of all the useless crapware that was installed and modified it to my liking.

Don't often have access to a PC, what should I do?

So I'm rooted, bootloader unlocked, and running the latest Synergy nightly (r46). I, and most of my friends, all have Mac computers (gasp! I know...), but for the next day or so I'm at my parents' house, where I'll have access to a PC. I've already backed up my NV/IMEI data, that was the first thing I wanted to do. My question is, is there anything else, PC-specific that I should do while I'm here? Is it worth updating the baseband or anything like that? I know anything Odin related will need to be done on a PC. I don't have any GPS issues that plague some people on custom ROMs. Anyway, just wondering if there is anything I should take advantage of while I'm around a PC. TIA!

To answer your question, if you already have your status info backed up as you say, then radio upgrade is the only thing I can think of.
You need to ge tyourself a dual boot computer not to worry about this issue. Dump the Mac, supporting Apple is supporting terrorism.
Take one of your old computers (doesn't everyone have one?) with windows XP or any other windows. If you don't have one, spend $200 to get a nice refurbished laptop from Dell Ebay store
http://stores.ebay.com/Dell-Financial/_i.html?_fsub=3&_sc=1&_sop=1
Once you have it, Install Ubuntu side by side the windows OS. Use crappy Windows for ODIN only work, and Ubuntu for everything else. Become a superstar

Rooting with Mac Snow Leopard

I have not only searched this forum, but have searched everywhere that I could think of for an answer. I finally decided to root and unlock my bootloader. My biggest problem is this:
1. My Mac is running 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard). The required Java files that you have to download only work with 10.7 (Lion) and higher. I have not been able to find a work around for this yet. I prefer to use this method with Adam's Casuals software.
2. I also have a virtual machine with Windows 7. I finally got all of the drivers installed and tried Noxious Ninja's method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792342 and that program just runs through without doing anything. I have verified that all files and drivers are installed and that the phone is actually connected to my virtual machine.
I really don't want to give Apple another penny of my money or I would go buy Lion upgrade. I also don't support pirating, so, that option is off of the table as well even though we are talking about the greediest, most evil company out there. I am seriously debating on selling my MacBook Pro and getting a PC at this point.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Apple is really greedy because their upgrades are $20 compared to $100 + windows upgrades. They are kinda greedy but its the same way bill gates got rich. Anyways i would just say update to Mtn Lion. Only $20 and works good. Rooted my phone with Casual on Mtn Lion.
I was running leopard and was able to root and unlock my bootloader by using Adam outlers root tool. I found it on Droid Life. I searched these forums but couldn't find the threads location. I deleted the email with the link but if I find it I'll post it. Search for Adams unlock tool because I rooted using the same program
Found the link I used

Thanks, I will try it when I get back home

Okay, I tried this and can't seem to get it to work either. It loads up fine but does not connect so I don't have the option to do anything else. I have checked and made sure that nothing else is running between the phone and computer. I was using Android File Transfer which was working very good, but turned it off and still no go. That lets me know that I do at least have a good connection between the Mac and S3.
Does anyone know of anything that I can try?
Nobody else has run into this problem? I have spent the better part of last night and this morning and still have not been able to find an answer. I just can't figure out why Android File Transfer will work perfectly and the Casual program will not even connect. I even double checked to make sure that my computer was up to date with software updates. The only thing that isn't up to date is obviously I am running Snow Leopard instead of Mountain Lion.

Is USB Debugging on in Developer Options and using the OEM USB cable?
Yes, my daughter came by with her PC and I rooted it without any issues. I would still like to know why I couldn't get those issues resolved.
Now, back to reading so I can back up my IMEI and figure out which ROM to flash! I am also thinking of flashing the newer radio to see if reception improves.

Glad you got it working, I would recommend Paranoid Android Rom for Stock it runs the smoothest i think and you have the option of using tablet mode.
I ran into the same problem you ran into with Casual not seeing my phone but that was on Lion on my MBP. My iMac running Snow Leopard worked fine without any problems. I asked Adam about this and he said its an issue with the Apple hardware, some see the phones and some don't, it's hit or miss luckily for me one of my systems recognized the phone.

Okay, I found out the issue. Hopefully this will help someone else that has the same problem. The problem came from Easy Tether. I found a page after all of the digging that worked for me (couldn't get adb to work right either) http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6026948/cant-find-android-device-using-adb-devices-command is the page that tells you how to disable it so that adb can communicate with it. I just backed up my IMEI with abd and am feeling pretty good!

Transfering 4gb+ file to my Mac

Okay, so I've been scouring the Internet and these forums for a way to do this, but haven't come up with an answer, maybe it's just that I'm an idiot and would loose my head if it weren't so stubbornly attached to my body and the answer is right under my nose. Who knows (obviously not me). Anyway, I've downloaded a 7gb .mkv file onto my phone and am currently attempting to get it off my phone. I now have come to understand that the fat32 format of my sd card does not allow me to transfer any files over 4gb to it. This would like explain why I would wait forever for it to transfer and then when it finishes.... it starts all over, and just does that again and again. Next I tried cloud services and I found that they won't let you transfer files anywhere near that size, especially not for free. So that leaves me in my current dilemma. Now here's the details. I've got a brand new Mac I'd like to get the file onto and a Note 2 that I'd like to get the file off of. To complicate matters worse I use my phone for damn near everything Internet related and tether it when using the mac so I don't have any wifi either. I think I could potentially Bluetooth it (maybe?), but that would just take an absurd amount of time of its even possible so that's outta the question even if it is a possibility. Isn't there a way to just hook up my note 2 to the mac and transfer that way? Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Is there something wrong with the USB cable?
Nope. Working just fine but I'm guessing you must know something I don't cuz I haven't been able to find a way to transfer the files I want. Also though, on my macbook android file transfer wouldbt work peiod but it does on th imac, weird right? But even with android file transfer working on the imac theres a 4gb file limit so its still no help with the file I'm trying to get moved

Try transferring it to a pc, then transfer it back out to an external hard drive formatted for Ex-FAT.

does anyone have a clean firefox5.apk I can have?? ...

Hi,
I know my Huawei is as old as the hills, however, I was wondering if anyone had an old Firefox 5 apk I could have?
I've searched everywhere and actually gotten the zip versions and the apk versions from Mozilla and guys I cannot be sure about, and none of them run, even though I've gotten several to install.
Also, I downloaded crying about my mod 7.2 and wondered if anyone could put it in for me?
I'd also like to dual boot with Linux, and move everything on the phones memory to my micro SD card, even if that means I have to buy another one.
DreamLinux has a version just for these cards, although I'm not sure everything will work, such as wifi.
Last I'd like to run the new Linux kernel that just came out.
And the lxde desktop or xfce.
I would love to run pure Debian, but I simply don't know how to configure it.
I do have a second phone, so no worries there.
I'll happily mail you this phone, or my Wildlife S and whatever else we're going to need to make this action happen.
Please advise!
Steve
adb won't load on older phones....
I just read that adb won't install on phones below android 4.0,
So how are guys getting cryanogenmod 7.x and Linux on ancient phones?
Is there a thread anyone can point me too?
I've searched pretty extensively ..I really don't get much. Perhaps I'm doing the search wrong?
Please advise.
Update:
Once your way computer in Abilene, Texas flashed in a new ROM, none of this was a big deal anymore.
Worth every penny.
