closer to 5 tho
This is about average for me.
I do have access to different phones and change them quite often and I'm pretty confident that S10e is currently the best compact flagship. Maybe the i 11pro is little bit better in some areas, but it's powered by iOS and for me personally it's difficult to use it for more than a month or two before I get angry with all of it's everyday inconveniences. Plus it's 2 times the price. Every time I come back to my S10e. Hope it helps.
The s10 line will be more likely to get a price drop the closer we get to the s20 releases, so if you can wait it wouldn't hurt.... That said, the s10e is still a great phone.
The S10e is good for all of 2020 & 2021 as it will get Android 11 will be keeping mine until the S21 released.

Thanks. I do like the 10e, great lil phone but think I'm going to go 11 Pro, I'm tired of having issues with messages and more battery life will be welcomed. Haven't used iPhone since the 4. Hope goes well.

Basically almost nothing has changed in iOS except one or two desperately needed features and I feel it's become a bit slower. The 11 pro is an excellent piece of hardware. Good luck!

Thanks, it's arriving today!
Last week was my 2nd purchase of S10e when i sold my first one probably 6 months ago. I was one of the early adopters of s10e and now the price here in Southeast Asia dropped to USD434.
I currently own Note10 and now this again. All i can say is Samsung should have made an option for a FLAT and compact screen in the upcoming s20 lineup that can directly rival the regular iPhone 11 Pro.
Aside from Google and Sony, there is no other OEM that builds a compact flagship phone anymore which is disappointing.

So you are replacing your note with 10e? Can I ask why?
There's too much issues/bugs with this phone that makes it hard for me to recommend to anyone.
1. The RAM management is awful! For example, if you split the screen with a random app and something like Twitter, each time you resume browsing your timeline, it automatically refreshes back to the beginning! Also Incognito tabs in Chrome don't stay in memory for very long.
2. Hidden albums seem to automatically disappear after a while!
3. Unable to control home devices such as Thermostat or Hue lights whilst phone is locked when using Google Assistant.
4. Battery section doesn't even show basic stuff like screen on time since last charge which means you have ti resort to third pay apps for features that I feel should be native to it.
5. Certain settings are unnecessarily hidden such as enabling the battery percentage. You won't find this under the Battery section. Had to Google it in the end!
6. Randomly the phone says it's restarted when it's not. Really annoying because then I have to type the password each time this happens as the fingerprint reader won't work until this is done.
There's a few note issues I've found that I can't remember off the top of my head. Stick to the iPhone guys!

7. Photos look like oil paintings! Not very natural at all.
8. No way to natively check battery health.
9. Face recognition not secure enough as even the banks won't support it!

10. Android pay refuses to work for me. I hold my phone to the pay terminal and nothing happens other than people giving me funny looks.

Overall? Got it Monday the 18th,not sold on it.
Sure it looks good, feels nice in the hand, but they've kneecapped the phone.Locked bootloader? Only accepts payware fonts from Monotype imaging? I've got 14 days, but as of right now I'm leaning towards sending it back and lighting up the Note 5 again.

I miss MOAR Nougat v1.4 too, and before that I thought I'd miss Fre3 Hybrid De[Odex] v2.26b on my Note 3.
But MOAR made getting over Freeza's ROM easier and I've got no doubt the same thing will happen here.

Over all I do love this phone. Sure bootloaders locked which means no custom roms at this time. But for real... I'm getting pretty decent battery life , can de-bloat unwanted apps, themes from Samsung are good enough for me. I got no lag with Nova and the phone is fast. No real complaints here other then Navbar in the way and hard to get to when in messaging. And that's just me. Definitely happy with my purchase.

I'm still adjusting to it... Has anyone figured out a way to hide the keyboard selector Icon on the Navigation Bar?
I must be hitting it by accident because a few times I've looked up to see the Select Keyboard box open while I've been entering text.
Best phone I've ever had. The two things I don't like about it (location of the FPS and speakerphone quality) are bad but still good enough.
Awesome device.
I'll like it so much more once I can use Magisk
Are we to understand that Sprint went the way of others (i.e. AT&T) and locked the boot loader down on the N8?
I love it. My only gripe is the form factor. I LOVED the form factor before this 18(.5):9 form factor. It's not for me at all. I mean.....i'm DEALING with it because ANY phone I get is going to have it. It was between this and the v30 since it's rocking the OLED display now.....but went with this due to the pen. Been a note owner since the 2....and the way I have to stratch my hands to access the top of the screen or "shrink" the screen with the triple home tap....idk. Just wish it was more "palm friendly". OTHER THAN THAT.........is it legal to marry electonic devices? LOL! I knew I'd like it anyway. Its just an updated version of the Note 7 except that retarded location for fingerprint scanning. but hey...i'll take it lol

Often my hands are full when I need light... I am sure most of you can relate.
One of the things I have tried to do with previous voice actuation systems was get the flashlight to turn on and off. As a fan of both Arthur C Clark and Harry Potter, of course I wanted to use lumos and nox for those commands if I could.
With Bixby, it worked almost perfectly until yesterday. Now Lumos searches for "limos". I though I could fix that with another quick command limos -> turn on flashlight.
But that does not work. Even with a quick command telling Bixby to turn on the flashlight when it heard limos, all that happens is some obviously paid content pops up.
It appears that paid results can disrupt your quick commands.
Samsung, if you are listening, disabling my quick commands to make a quick buck is not acceptable. Take the $, but make my command work too! Split the screen if you must, but when a user has created a quick command, DO NOT JUST TAKE IT OVER FOR A COMMERCIAL.
Other than that, best phone ever...
I just got my free fast wireless charger and free 128GB microSD today. So my love has increased.
Wow. My htc devices never did this. I just hit 15% battery. It's 4:50 pm on Sunday. I pulled it off charger yesterday morning. Every htc device I've ever owned (all I've ever owned since window 6) never last a single day.
My galaxy tab 4 7" I've had for over 2 years, I've seen go over a week, but it hardly gets used.
If only unlock bootloader was available in developer options, and Samsung had a developer's website like htc where they give you the tools to unlock bootloader and practically all the tools to root. That part makes me regret getting this device. Considered returning it and getting the newer crap htc is force feeding us (only reason I switched, they lost touch with users)
Hi Guys!
It's been a while since I visited
So my S7 camera broke and I ran out of internal storage  so it's time for a new phone.
I wanted to buy POCO F1 which I can get for around 367$ in my country, but after a little research I discovered they had touchscreen issues, which I had with my OnePlus One and I don't want to have the same experience again..
So, I decided it's time to buy an OP6! I'm thinking 128 or 256 Gb, because somehow I always run out of internal storage space.
My main question is, are there any known/common issues? I want the phone to be SMOOTH and last at least two years.
Are there any known issues like the POCO or the OP1 had? touch/heating/microphone issues? something that will make day to day usage annoying?
Aside from that, feel free to share anything else you think about the phone.
Thanks alot!
Hey,
I own the OnePlus 6 for a month now. I owned a OP 1, 3 and 5 and multiple other devices in-between. The 6 is definitely my favorite OP device till date. With the 1 I had the touchscreen issues, the camera on the 3 was a big disappointment, the 5 was a good phone but I wanted a fingerprint scanner on the back. I could have waited for the 6T but I'm not ready to say goodbye to the headphonejack. The 6 is the first OP phone that feels good enough to keep it around for a longer period. It's also the first phone that doesn't give me the need to root.
I get 6+ hours of SOT. The camera does a good job, great if you use the Pixel Cam mod. The phone is fast and smooth and will beat most high end phones around.
The only reason not to buy it is if you really want the best smartphone camera. Then you would be better off with a pixel phone or a Huawei mate 20 pro or the p20 pro. But then you would have to spend considerably more cash.
I was going to purchase a Oneplus 6 as well. Finally give them a try but al the 8gb versions, aside from white, are sold out on their site. I'm guessing they are discontinuing them and focusing on the 6T?
If so, that definitely sucks.
You can still buy one at e-global....
Anyone else? Im buying in a few hours.
I have had mine for little over 2 weeks now. I have to say it's one of the coolest phones I have owned. Sold my note8 on swappa for almost as much as the 1+6. I decided not to wait for the 6T because of the new FP tech. I like it on the back and the first generation screen FPR is bound to be slower and buggier. Why take a step back in functionality. I would still buy the 6 over the 6T today. The camera is still really good even though it isn't as highly rated as all other flagships. It takes good photos and the new night camera helps a little with dark shots. Unless comparing side by side shots you should be pleased.
I only have 2 gripes about the 6 .
Scrolling just lags for no good reason sometimes. It's not a hardware issue because the phone is a beast. It's a memory management problem and Pie makes it worse. For me installing the XXX ROM mod has helped tremendously. The dev community is huge for 1+ though so you shouldn't have a problem finding many ways to fix this.
There is a bug when pocket mode is enabled that makes the FPR unresponsive until you cover and uncover the front light sensor or just press the power button. It made me think my reader was just faulty until I figured it out.

I see midnight black and white ATM. I thought the same thing a few weeks ago when I was going to buy one but they seem to go in and out of stock quite often. They will eventually replace the 6 with the 6T but I imagine it will still be a few months.
Hi,
I love the images the Pixel 3 takes, and the front speakers.
I read a lot of compliments on the device, were those issues fixed? should I buy a Pixel 3?
(I know that the Pixel 4 launch is imminent, I am looking for a 600 USD price tag)
I came from a Nexus 5 and ran that thing into the ground before finally purchasing this device.
My view is this,
It's the best phone I could buy for the money. I paid $600.
I have a few quirks with available ROMs and Android pie, however I'm confident Android 10+ and TWRP devs will come around and relieve a lot of these things. They're invaluable for the pixel series.
I know deals are just around the corner and I suggest looking for $500 or less. Be patient. They'll happen pretty soon, keep your eye out.
Stay far away from Verizon since you can't unlock bootloader.
Disable wifi calling from your phone application if you have call quality issues.
OLED screen shows ghosting effect when pixels change from black to white too quickly. This was especially annoying for me for the first couple of months, but I've adjusted surprisingly well since then.
Every complaint you've heard about the Pixel 3 is typically a software issue. Everything this device supports and the hardware packed into it is amazing.
Front speakers were a big reason I bought the phone too! It's the only reason I prefer this over the pixel 4. Haha
I hope this helps you along with your decision and you're happy with whatever you purchase.

The Pixel 3 is currently $499 direct from Google. The Pixel 3 XL is currently $599. This is a $300 discount as the Pixel 4s are coming out next month. I jumped on this at the beginning of the month and bought both for my wife and I. We too had the Nexus 5 for a long time until switching to the LG G6 2 years ago. I normally don't switch phones after 2 years but this was too good to pass up. Also we are on Google Fi and these work perfectly with it.
I bought the 3 (non-XL) about two months ago when Google sent out the $300 off coupons. Had been on the Pixel 1 (non-XL) before that but the battery on that phone was starting to show its age.
I've been thrilled with the 3, and the update to Android 10 improved it even more. Let me know if you have specific questions, but I think it is a completely viable purchase at this stage of the game.
So I bought the device
Now it has Android 9, and due to the posts here I think I should wait before updating to Android 10
Mmmm, I'm also considering buying the Pixel 3 atm. But I have only one concern: battery life. What's your experience? Is it possible to use the phone for more than one day, with mediocre use?

I don't have a problem with mine lasting a full day. You could consider the Pixel 3XL instead which has a larger batter and screen. I bought that for my wife and now wish I had bought one for myself. It's not as big as I had expected.

Thanks for your quick reply! But one of the reasons I'm considering the Pixel 3 (and not the 3a for example) is the compact size. How much juice do you have at the end of the day? More than 30 percent?
It varies. I find it seems to use a lot of juice just sitting there, but I usually have more than 30% at the end of the day. I am not on it for an hour at a time, just checking things now and then.

I heard a lot of negative things about the battery life, so before purchasing my pixel 3 a month ago I was dubious; especially consider I owned a pixel 3xl at launch.
Anyhow, all I can say is I'm very surprised. It's got even better since android 10 came out. I get 5.5-6.5hrs screen on time a day, and everything is stock. So that's good enough for me.
Same here, very happy with my pixel 3. got it on a steal at best buy for $399
I have a Note 10 that I have until tomorrow to return. Thinking of grabbing the Pixel 3 to save some money. Battery isn't the best on the Note and I don't really use the S-pen.
Good idea or should I stick with the Note?
Having used Samsung and Pixel, I'll take a Pixel over any Samsung phone, based on the software and support experience. At the current $300 discount Pixel is a great option.
I'd say it depends on the price. If it's US$400-500, I'd say "Get it.", but if it's $600 or over, look for a better deal.
Having now seen the Pixel 4... if you can get a good deal on a Pixel 3 go for it. I don't see much benefit from the newer phone (except a year more security update support).
I have a Moto Z Play at the moment and as much as I like it, it is still on Oreo and is not up to date security-wise, which is a worry for me.
I was very set on a Pixel 3a which I can get for £299 with a £50 mastercard giftcard as a freebie. I have since seen a few posts on forums saying they get really slow after a few months and lag a lot, which is strange because my Moto Z Play still mostly performs fine, bit for stutter, but for a cheap phone it is fine.
I am wondering if I wait for the 4a to come out and spend maybe £400/£429 (whatever they price it at) for that, or just get the 3a, with the view that if I don't like it, I can return it in the first 2 weeks.
I don't really want to spend £400 on a phone ideally, as I don't really see the point.
Could some users of the 3a for a while give me some idea of how it performs after time?
I use my phone for YouTube, Chrome, Netflix, new apps and emails. Never play games on my phone unless it is a basic casual one that i'll play for 10 minutes and then delete.
(I know the new iPhone SE is out for £419 and will be worlds better than both of the Pixels' but I prefer Android overall and would rather not be locked to iOS.)
I'd appreciate any help, thanks
Edit - Just an insight in my phone history... i did have a OnePlus 6 for a while, but decided I preferred the Moto Z Play, so I sold the OP6. The performance difference didn't bother me and with my usage, didn't seem very noticeable. I just want mostly smooth and reliable.
Hello,
I've had mine for about 10 weeks now and I couldn't be happier with it - came from almost exclusively Samsung S range (3,4,5,7) and a moto x style in there as well.
'pure' android is a delight to behold. Still quick and responsive - boot time is about 2 seconds slower than when it was brand new. I've just checked and I currently have nearly 80 apps installed so that's to be expected.
It's a bit like a car/bike/desktop/whatever in that occasional maintenance is your friend ? I use Ccleaner and Greenify paid version. Rooted, EXKernel Manager, no twrp as on android 10 and it doesn't work on 10 yet. Took a little bit of adjustment to not having twrp as I liked to take a weekly backup but no big deal in the grand scheme of things - I'm still in love with the 'pure' android experience and not having all the extra **** bundled in from Samsung.
Few advisories I'd point out is that: I would have bought a 3XL if I could have afforded one, and the modding scene is pretty quiet but I have gathered 2 main learnings on that. Firstly, that'll probably change when the twrp devs get it up and running on android 10, and B, there is actually very little need to mod as the 'pure' android is just lovely as it is.
I've had no errors, no restarts/bootloops etc and re-rooting after updates is simple. I get a day battery no probs with moderate use, no games and using EXKernel Manager to alternate between Performance and Power saving settings as required. Camera is lovely. Wired headphone volume is a bit quiet but stick Viper4android on it and problem solved.
Happy to answer the odd question or 2 if you have any ?

Thanks for that.
Would you say it has gotten any slower after 2+ months?
Most of the reports I have read have said that it lags on the keyboard a lot and lags a lot in general. I wouldn't expect flagship performance, but I do want something that is mostly smooth and will browse the web without being a stuttery mess all the time.
Nah no lag for me but I use a 3rd party keyboard (SwiftKey) instead of Gboard. I use a lot of voice recognition for typing as well as the on screen keyboard.

I've had a 3a since I got rid of the 3 XL in December. I don't notice any slowdowns or performance difference even with games to the 3 XL I had. I take care of my devices though and remove unused apps and keep caches/storage clear as needed. Cloud storage is your friend. Most ppl just install dozens of apps and games and complain their device got slow but don't actually maintain their device. If you maintain your device it will perform well for you. I also get in the habit of factory resetting devices once or twice a year to freshen them up it literally takes 10 minutes if you keep backups of apps and data.
I personally think the 4a will be the better choice in the long run if you intend keeping your phone for a while, that being said the Pixel 3a is still a great phone I got rid of my Samsung S10e couple of weeks ago & picked up another Pixel 3a & i have no regrets at all coming back & downgrading somewhat spec wise, I still may pickup a 4a when the deals are on at some point later this year.
Also the release of the iPhone SE 2020 could be a good thing for future deals on the Pixel 4a.
Got the 3a with me now.
So far, so good! An added bonus is that it has WiFi calling, which I thought it did not.
Display is nice, size is good. Feels nice without a case on, but not sure I'm brave enough to run it without a case!
Speed seems fine, smooth and quick enough for me so far

I'm a Sony fanboy, have nearly all flagships since 2011 here, more or less good maintained with custom fws, i donated devices to devs here at xda, i'm a supporter.
My provider offers me to get a Pixel 3A or a Pixel 4 when i extend my contract for 2 years, the Pixel 3A would cost 11,50 € per month, the Pixel 4 20,00 €, in both cases the the mobile belongs to me after this 24 additional months. I really dunno how to decide, i read and read and read about the pros and cons, the results are all the same - take the 3A, says the tests and suggestions in the www. I'm not a gamer, no facebook, taking not much photos, not involved in social networks, i need pure functionality, navigation, good battery life, playing only CoC, NFS no Limits. The only advantage in the Pixel 4 which i see - it is newer. It's really hard for me to decide - any opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance. At least the fact that i dont really NEED a new phone, my 2 daily drivers are an Xperia Z3 and an S5Neo, both active ( private and business device ) with LOS 16 rock stable, smooth and fast systems. LOS 17.1 is coming for these 2 devices, i think with official status too.
So, that's all, please enlighten me.

Well, whereas I am quite happy with my 3a, my rule for buying (any) tech stuff is to but the best that you can afford at the time. I got my 3a cos it was the best I could afford at the time but if I'd had the money, I would have gotten a 3xl or a 4. Sorry if this isn't helpful, just thought I'd share a bit of my process. I guess the conclusion would be if you can afford the 4, then get the 4

Got the 3a with me now.
So far, so good! An added bonus is that it has WiFi calling, which I thought it did not.
Display is nice, size is good. Feels nice without a case on, but not sure I'm brave enough to run it without a case!

Glad you like it, I prefer to have mine in a case as well (clumsy) so I just got a gel tpd case and screen protector on ebay. Screen protector covers the entire front including the bezels. It's done a stellar job so far - I keep lots of stuff in my pockets and there isn't so much as a scuff on my phone if you'd like I might be able to link the screen protector if I can find it in my ebay history ?
Link to screen protector:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143284267215
I have a caseology parralax case and a generic glass screen protector now, feels much safer!
So far the battery life on this is incredible, took it off the charger at 8pm Sunday evening, I still have 45% left at 3 hours of SOT.
That's will very weak/no reception for a lot of that too.
Given how small the battery is, it's really quite impressive
Really impressed with this phone so far.
The only issue I am having with my 3a is that I have always used Messenger lite (Facebook) for my messaging app. For some reason, a lot of the time the notifications don't show up after the phone has been locked for a while, until I go into the phone and it picks it up or sometimes until I go into the app.
I have notifications turned on and see no reason for them not to always come through and be visible on the lockscreen. Is this just the Doze feature being a bit too aggressive?
Ah I can't answer that, sorry. I use greenify to sleep my apps, including
social media apps. I only want to use them when I want to use them, you know?
So mine stay asleep until I open them manually.
That is okay. It doesn't do it all the time, I think it's mostly when the phones been sat idle for a while.

You can exclude the fb messanger app from doze (battery optimization) in settings, its in apps and notifications -> special app access, in batter optimization choose to ahow all apps.
Maybe that helps. But could also be an fb bug.
Cheers. Glad you like that phone, for ne it's the best phone i ever had, it just works.
For some reason this second charge has started off worse. I suppose it'll take a few days to fully settle and let the adaptive battery feature set up.

It will settle in a day or 2, youve got to remember that in the first few days of a new toy there's all the setting up/copying data/etc as well but the battery will learn your normal usage. Here's a screen grab from my Better Battery Stats, it's a pretty good %pH.
The annoying thing currently is that I've just changed my bedroom in my house, there is currently no cell or WiFi reception in it, so it dropped 15% last night because it was searching for them all night. Hoping to sort the WiFi in a few days

1. Is the notification delayed problem fixed?

1. Notification problem not fixed as far as I can tell.
2. Too early to tell as I just installed it.
3. Too early to tell
4. Some bloatware, Hot Apps and Hot Games. Still looking for anything else.
5. Will update my experience in the next few days.
This is a real shame and I'm going to have to start looking for another phone since this may be the last update we receive. Why they wouldn't address the notification problem is baffling.

It really is time to get the new phone. I'm looking at note10+ atm. Vivo Nex is such a beast, still today, but the software, locked bootloader and slow updates are really getting on my nerves for quite some time. Such a shame, imagine nex with other ROMs...

Agreed in hardware vivo nex is one of the best especially the coolest s845 among all phones i've tried. Its infamous software is undoubtly agreed by the majority in this forum.
BTW: The worst software maintenance I have ever had is ASUS. Just a quick tip for those concerning software update quality.

I'm not willing to pay $1,300+ for a phone and I don't like punch holes etc, even though it would sync perfectly with my Tab S6.

It's funny you say that because I'll probably be getting the Zenfone 7 Pro. I had a Zenfone 2 and had zero issues with it. The Zenfone 7 meets all my requirements especially the full screen. But in addition a huge battery, NFC, all the 5G bands and it's US/Taiwanese so a lot more secure than the Chinese phones I've been using exclusively for the past 7 years.

I can't stand the punch hole fad, that is one of the reasons I love my NEX. Here where I live note10+ is around 700-800$ and the newest note20 ultra is around 1300$ which is crazy to pay for a phone. And it's not worth it anyway, it's almost the same as note10+. I just need a phone close to 7" display, no punch hole and 90hz+. Can't find any, closest is oneplus 7t pro, but it's basically the same as NEX.
Mate 20x 5g seems like a nice phone...

That's why I'm seriously considering the Zenfone 7. It's got everything I need including 90hz. I don't use or need wireless charging (especially with a 5000mah battery) or waterproofing. They've also committed to two years of updates which is good enough for me. One more thing (from when I had the old one) is a very active forum and good customer service unlike Vivo.

My experience is Padfone S, the most horrible things in the world. For hardware part, the screen dies (after 360 days of purchase) right before warranty ends (365 days). They should have timed better so that I need to change my phone after 366 days.
For software part,
The system is eating up all rams and getting unusable after android 5 updates. For other 2GB ram phones across the same period are able to at least keep 2 apps opened. Every single app need to be reloaded after switching between apps. They didn't even plan to release android 6 which they promised 2 years of software support until fury in the Taiwan forum and someone is going to sue the company. And you can guess the result, the android 6 software is also a piece of **** with countless bugs.
My iPhone 7 plus has been using for 4 years and still doing very well (smooth) in today's applications. If divides the price by the number of years it's performing, it is much cheaper than Padfone S which becomes unusable after 3 months of purchase.
F**k ASUS.

That's too bad. My girlfriend is still using my Padfone X (At&t) from 2014 on 4.4 Kitkat and it's not the greatest but it's still good for media. I also have a Google Nexus 2013 (by Asus) but the screen broke and I can't find one so it's retired now. Never had a problem with any of them or my Zenfone 2.
Most people rooted and changed the rom on the Padfone S and it performed very well I hear. If you love your iPhone so much then stick with it. Personally I could never use such a restrictive OS.
I notice my GPS google crash, cant use now..try to reinstall and nothing happend

0. Have you received the OTA update / which region are you in? France but like Indian version (aka International)
1. Is the notification delayed problem fixed ? Not so, i don't have this issue
2. Do you experience a slow charging problem? Seems ok here
3. Battery performance Waiting for full cycle to understand but actually seems bad
4. Any new feature/bug An huge upgrade on camera can be nice, because Vivo can easily fight againt GCam for my opinion
5. Any other business Stay safe and protect your family, it's important
