hi, i've try to search but I can't find a solution to this problem.
first of all:
voice match and other stuff of google assistant are active.
I use a lot "ok google" and "hey google" functionality, but i noticed that in the last period doesn't work.
I'm with a op7 pro with unlocked bootloader and i find the problem with the update on latest beta 8 of OOS. I find that for exaple the mic doesn't work at all inside the google app, but also in PLS messanger and some other apps. During call or inside whatsapp or sound recorde it still function very well. So i make a reset of the phone and i switch back to the OOS stable, the 10.0.3 and i find that in this rom the microphone still work well inside all apps, including google app, but the "ok google" hotword still not function. Also inside the google assistant app, where it's write "say "ok google"", if I say it, the assistant doesn't starts. tha same inside the home screen, in the lock screen and so on...it does not work. So i try to a clean flash of a stable 10.0.3, without any apps except the original ones, only i finsh config of the phone. Still not works. So, as an extrema ratio, i decided to make a very deep clen install, i flash the entire phone with MSM tool to switch back to the condition of a clean phone as when i bought it. So i have the OOS 9.5.6, clean flash, no other apps and...still not works!!!!!!
I decided to try a different rom, not OOS based, i use the latest crDroid and...works very well also with screen off!
Switch back to the OOS 10, not works.
Due to is not an hardware problem, someone can help me to solve this problem?
Thanks

Go into settings and search for "OK Google".
Look at all the apps/seetings that show up.
Something is turned off.
Have you done voice enrollment again?

made it...no voice is unchecked.
I also made new enrollment more than one times...still no answer when i say "ok google" or "hey google" in any screen. :crying:
i have two friend of mine with same phone and they don't have any problem, same OOS version.
I would think that can be an hardware problem, due to the fact that still not works also with the old OOS 9 restored with MSM tool, but why the hotword works in NON OOS roms like CrDroid?!?
I'm very bored with this fact

If it works in another ROM, then it's not hardware.
Not sure why it doesn't work. I'm on 10.3.0 and it's working fine.

I think they have broken something in hotword recognition.
I tried to activate because of this thread and I'm seeing a similar issue.
The one thing I have not done yet that was recommended was turn of "Adaptive Battery" to see the effect.
If I activate the assistant with my power button it understand whatever I say.
So it has to be hotword or always listening.

Yes, the problem is the hotword recognition, not other things.

It is very hard, nearly impossible to use the "OK, Google" voice action with the OnePlus one. It works in 1% of all attempts inside the Google NowaApp. No matter what I do. I tried is with a normal voice and shouting; with a big distance and a small one. I can't get it working.
It works perfect on my Nexus 5.
I tried a voice call to check if my mic is broken. But it works as expected.
It is even impossible for my to activate Google Nows "work everywhere" feature. It's impossible to trigger "OK Google" 3 times.
Any ideas?
I've got a similar problem.
It does work but the microphone is not very sensitive.
Have to a) hold it close to your mouth or b) talk loudly.
I expect future update will sort it.
I was having the same problem but followed the directions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/help/fixed-microphone-ok-google-low-t2805568 to increase the mic sensitivity and it works fine now. Mine wasn't working at all before. A few people report force close issues so make sure you backup first. I have not had any problems though.

ya, I've seen that. Just thought I would let impatient people like me know it currently has been addressed.
I thought the OnePlus was going to have touchless voice commands. I cant find it anywhere.
I saw in a video "hi snapdragon" but doesn't seem to work
it was removed in the last update.

Why was it removed? Is the feature coming back?
I know you can use 'OK Google' but there are problems with the mic volume, which can be fixed by editing a file, but it isn't a perfect fix. This has been patched in the latest update though, which should be pushed out shortly.
Also, OK Google doesn't seem to be listening everywhere even if it has been set to. I'm hoping they fix this as well.
it didnt work well and they are working on replacing the "hey snapdragon" with "ok oneplus".
Qualcomm was not satisfied with the quality of the pre-recordings that oneplus sent to them.

If you go in to the Google now settings and change the default languae to US you should then be able to activate 'Ok Google' from any screen includong the lock screen and while the device is in standby
I tried to activate this but does not seem to work from the lock screen for the oneplus one. I have 44S update I think but would really love to see this functionality coming back. I was quite impressed with my moto x primarily from this perspective and am looking forward to having this on my oneplusone device.
Any idea when it might come back?
TIA
Hey everyone, I received my Mate 8 about a week ago but no matter what I try I can't get now on tap working. Every official Google app has permission to do whatever it wants and I have the latest firmware version installed (and yes, now on tap is enabled within the Google app) but I still can't get it working. I've read that other people have the same problem. Has anyone else figured out how to fix this? Thanks in advance

Sorry can you elaborate more? do you mean google now? as I know it's clashing with EMUI of Huawei at the moment unless others can correct me....
Well Google now works in general, "OK Google" speech recognition works fine as does pretty much everything else, the only things that don't work are the home button related gestures (holding home for Now On Tap and swiping up from home to get to your now cards).

Has anybody had success with waking/unlocking your phone with the "Ok Google" voice command? I enjoy using it but I don't want to have to unlock my phone to use the voice assistant every time, particularly when it's for simple questions (I know, first world problems). I enabled Trusted Voice but that doesn't seem to work when my phone screen turns off. Any help would be appreciated.
Same here. I also tried to do that. Ultimately i came up with nothing.
same here man.
I can't recall the source, but I'd read somewhere it only wakes up to the Dear Honor voice command activated in settings. Seemed to work when I tested it. Also found an automate module that senses the honor voice app open, closes it and loads the Google one. It's pretty sluggish but that's the only workaround I was able to find.
The okay Google command only works with screen off on Nexus and Pixel devices. Honor has another command that you must use, but it doesn't tap into Google assistant.

Looks like it's been removed from the list. I went ahead and zipped a copy of the flow so I can upload it here.
@Puksom had said in another thread that he had OK Google working to wake up the phone, but I've heard from many others that it doesn't.
Hoping anyone running various versions of MIUI Global and/or Chinese can chime in if they have this feature working.
If it works for you, please let me know your build number. I can confirm it doesn't work on the latest Chinese stable, but, since I still have another couple days for bootloader unlock, I can't confirm much else.
Note that by OK Google wake-up, I mean with the screen off, and the phone unplugged.
By unlock, I mean that you set a PIN/Password, and that saying OK Google can bypass this lock screen if your voice matches.
(By the way, a somewhat difficult work-around for people who need this feature but can't get it working...)
You can set up, on the Chinese builds, a voice wake-up for the Chinese assistant.
Although you'll need to pronounce it well, you need to program the wake-up word, Xiao ai, by saying Xiao ai tong xue
Then saying "Xiao ai" can make the phone wake up... from there, you can say "OK google" and access assistant. But of course we all want to access assistant directly.
I have that working I'm on official Chinese rom with Google apps and services installed it works ok
I'm running Global Version (9.5.4), and it doesn't work.
When the screen is off, it's not listening. When the screen is on, on the lock screen, it activates, but it doesn't unlock the phone (there's no Trusted Voice), so you need to enter your PIN/pattern.
Trusted Places is not available either, so there is no way to have the phone unlock automatically except using a Mi Band or some other bluetooth device.
@funziebear What is working for you exactly? OK Google with screen off? Does it also unlock your phone automatically or do you have to enter your pattern/pin as well? I though no version of MIUI supported any of those features, based on what I have been able to dug up.
I'm also on the Global Rom and it does NOT work. As well as not having any face unlock options.
Very disappointing.
I'm on official chinese stable. Installed all Google Apps and gave full permissions and autostart permissions to all Google Apps. Installed Assistant and was even able to activate it properly with wake-up and trusted voice. But it's still not working. There was once a message from within the assistant, that said Xiao Ai is still the default assistant and Google Assistant is not set as default.
It's working with screen on, but not unlocking
It's not working with screen off

Are you sure? Can you say OK Google with the screen off, and it wakes up?
can you guys please figure this out definitively ? Cuz I'm willing to buy the phone, but i will not buy it if google's assistant isn't able to wake-up the phone. pretty please figure it out.

within your helm of knowledge do you believe it's going to receive this feature in a near-future update?
Cuz I ran into this EXACT same issue with my Galaxy S7 and saw people with Galaxy S6 and S8 facing the same issue, all of them can wake-up the screen, even the word can be configured to whatever word the user wants as long as it is phonetically pronounceable in the 5 most common languages, but the catch is that it only works with Samsung Voice later renamed to Bixby. And I even tried running both Samsung and Google's assistants simultaneously, it doesn't work, they both compete for the exclusive use of the microphone so the idea of using one to wake-up the screen and the other to execute the command is not practical or viable since the second one will only have access to the microphone-audio-stream after the first one released it. So in the end I deactivated the ****ty Samsung Voice crap and decided to stay with Google's Assistant even though it does not wake-up the phone.
what a barbaric decision this is specially coming from Xiaomi. truly ****ed up
Any updates on this? I haven't tried newer MIUI 10 versions, wondering if they added support.
