Hello,
Is there any way to get Automatic dark mode to work on OxygenOS?
Before, you could use the app "Auto Dark Theme", but one of the latest OxygenOS updates broke it so that SystemUI dark mode cannot be disabled automatically anymore.
The app changes the in app and notification dark mode settings just fine, but the quick settings stay dark all the time.
I also tried tasker, but it seems to use the same command as "Auto Dark Theme" because it shows the same behaviour.
I'm on Open Beta 8.
Not sure if this is what you are after.

Thanks, the app is indeed very nice, but I'm not rooted atm, do I would prefer an adb based solution.
Go into developer options, and enable Override Force dark mode, or something like that. Do a search for the word "dark" in that screen.
I'm not sure if that setting requires root.
Did you find any way to make the app "OP dark mode toggler" work without root using adb commands??

Thanks, but that isn't automatic, so changing it manually every time really annoyed me.

When I started the app, nothing happened because I don't have root obviously but there seems to be no other option.
Is there a solution for the auto darkmode problem?

Hey guys,
I've searched the net and couldn't find a solution to my problem. I'm trying to run certain applications and games in full screen, I don't want to go into the quick settings each time I want to go in full screen. Is there a way either using xposed or otherwise to enable automatic full screen? Sadly immersive mode in gravitybox doesn't work with the shield.
I don't know why Nvidia didn't enable this feature under their power control settings, I'd expect to see that right below Resolution Rendering but nope... It's kind of an essential feature.
Thanks and happy New years!
Hi,
Maybe a Xposed mod?
I checked already...no

App Settings has an option to launch an app in immersive mode (http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.mods.appsettings)
But, I don't know if it's compatible with Marshmallow.
I'm currently running the LTE 32gb version so no marshmallow for me yet. Immersive mode doesn't work, does it work for you? I think Nvidia shut off immersive mode in place of their full screen mode. I'm just wondering how to activate full screen mode without actually having to go into the app. I even tried using Tasker's autoimput plugin too..to no avail. I tried App settings and gravity box, neither of them work. Immersive mode just doesn't work.

If this does't work.... I haven't tried yet App Settings.
I think, for now, you have to activate the full screen mode manually from the quick settings panel
Meh...yeah I guess I'll have to do that for now, I'll keep at it with autoimput.
Merci mate!

Since the shield has immersive support/Fullscreen support build in maybe we can get this working with tasker somehow ?
app settings 1.11 and 1.13 works fine on LP and I would assume on MM as well, assuming you have the correct xposed installed for your OS.
both are unofficial, do a search here on xda to find it.
I use it on my LTE shield with 5.11 to fullscreen apps automagically with zero issues.
if that is too much to deal with for whatever reason, there is also this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmd.hidesoftkeys
So I've noticed since upgrading to Pie, when using the quick toggle switches, the wrong item is displayed at the bottom of the screen. If I was to click the wifi toggle, it will say mobile data enabled at the bottom of the screen. If I was to click the wifi toggle off, it says wifi enabled at the bottom. I'm 110% stock (Verizon version ?) thoughts?

I don't remember seeing this, but do you use any themes? If yes, try to remove the theme and see how it is without it

Gotta be an app you have installed. I just reset to most recent stock 9 a few days ago and don't even get toast notifications when using the quick settings.

I can't figure it out for the life of me. I think you are on your way something tho, either an app or a setting. None of the other toggles show a toast notification. Don't wanna factory reset, might just have to tho
Mine keeps enabling "Night Mode" to "Always on" all by itself. I set it to "Always off" and it turns itself back on again after just a few minutes.
Weird stuff going on.
I may just start going through system apps and clearing cache and see what happens.

That I believe is because you have night mode turned on in the messages app, or any other Google app that has a dark mode setting. The night mode setting in developer options I've noticed, doesn't really matter. When I use Android auto, it switches between day and night on its own. Now if I pick up my device and use it while it is still plugged into my car, and I open messages which I have dark mode enabled, it will switch Android auto to dark. And I would have to unplug the USB and plug it back in. Hope that helps

You're absolutely right. The night mode setting for the notification pull down follows the setting in the Messages app ... which I had turned on.
Thanks! That was driving me nuts.

It's enabled server side, even in the beta, according to a news article I read, I'm also on beta with no dark mode
If your phone setting ui is in dark mode, whatsapp beta will be too automatically. Just go into developper setting by pressing a few time on build number in the phone info .
Look for overide force dark, enabled. Close open whatsapp.
Its basicly forcing any app with dark theme to enable it

Hi the problem is that it turns other apps to dark mode without an option to disable it rendering some part of those apps with odd colors.

Hello there,
as written in the title I am trying to figure out why the settings app does not show the apps list to turn off dark mode for sigle applications.
CONTEXT:
MIUI Global 13.0.1 (Android 11), Dark mode enabled.
Some minor (no root/no roms flashing) tinkering has been made on the device, including:
Uninstalled some community-recognized bloatware via adb
Revoked some highly-sensitive intrusive permission for some system/not-system apps from Settings > Privacy Protection > Special Permissions, however no permission has been revoked from the "Settings" app
EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR:
Opening Settings > Display > More dark mode options shows a list of apps (under "Individual apps") for whom you can disable the made-in-miui dimming.
OBTAINED BEHAVIOUR:
The "individual apps" list is empy, as shown in the screenshot linked above.
ALREADY ATTEMPTED (AND DIDN'T SOLVE):
Rebooting the device (disappointed, I expected this to work)
Accessing the dark mode settings from the notification area
Opening the settings in split-screen with another app
Opening the settings after opening as many apps as possible to fill the RAM
Waiting 5+ minutes in the "More dark mode options" screen
Swiping the line just above "Individual apps" up
Accessing the settings page while mobile data and Wi-Fi are turned off
What are the other possible ways to solve this? Is there a particular system app who is responsible for the app list showing in this setting? Or is there a way to completely turn off Individual apps dark mode while keeping dark mode on?
Thank you in advance for the replies and screw Xiaomi for making no option for this and making this "in-app-enforced-darkmode-wannabe" enabled by default for every app.
Hum..., bump?
Unfortunately all I can add is I'm experiencing the same issue and haven't found a solution. I think it must have been introduced with an MIUI update as I know in the past the dark mode app list has been populated.

Still not working for me. I did find this thread for a different Xiaomi phone with the same MIUI issue. Seems someone has made a Magisk module if you have a rooted phone: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...t-miui-13-redmi-note-10.4404923/post-87160523
However I haven't rooted my phone (in case I had any issues with e.g. banking apps) so haven't tried this myself. I'm just hoping Xiaomi eventually fix it in an update.

That is absolutely crazy, how Xiaomi messed up their own software. It has not been showing the apps for me for long now and it is so annoying to have to switch dark mode off entirely every time an app doesnt display elements correctly, just because Xiaomi forces their weird dark mode adaptation into apps that dont support dark mode natively. I dont get how they thought that feature being on by default for every app was a good idea...
EDIT: Also thank you for the link but I don't want to root my phone either, too many security related concerns.
It is working, the UI just stalls when loading the apps list. when you open the "More dark mode options"
place your finger on the line that says "individual apps" and swipe up. if u did it right it will show the list., just keep swiping up from that line until the list shows
This issue was discussed in the xiaomi forums (c.mi) and this is the only way to access the dark mode page.

I tried this several times and in multiple directions (I can actually swipe the interface up), swiping the line app to the top, but it keeps showing no app; there keeps being a problem on loading the list of apps for some reason
I use KOReader which wasn't working well with the Pixel 7 Pro because of the front camera hole.
So I made it so the app would draw over the camera. This means the status bar icons also draw over the camera hole.
Now I want to revert back to the default state so the system and apps won't draw over it.
I thought I did it via Developer Options, Display Cutout. But it's already set to "Device default".
Now I can't figure out how to go back to the default.
Is there some other setting that could affect this?

If you can't find and correct the hidden user setting you altered you'll need to do a factory reset to purge the erroneous setting.

Hi thanks for your time helping with this, really appreciate it.
Not sure if I'm misunderstanding you, but I will try disabling "Developer options" completely. The phone is now rebooting after I disabled that.
(I've tried to switch between different "Display cutout" settings and going back to "Device default" hoping it'll fix it, but it didn't.)

Exactly. Sometimes Developer options goes nuts. Disabling resets all changes to default settings.
If an app you installed started this, reinstall it and see if you can disabled what caused it with the app's settings. That's the easiest way to access the hidden setting change. After it's fixed get rid of that poorly coded app!
Had a reader the altered the display color. After uninstalling the app the change remained. Reinstalled, turn off the setting that caused it, uninstalled the buggy app. It should have reset the hidden user settings to default when uninstalled. Rarely some Android apps don't uninstall cleanly and cause damage to the system. I avoid "sampling" in part because of this. This OS (Pie) load is 3 yo now... still running strong with no system upgrades or updates.
