For those that received a "free" mobile data tablet and don't know what else to use it for - you can activate and use the mobile hotspot (if you have unlimited data) without having to be subscribed to it (we know how those youtube videos can eat through that data)...
paul2112 said:
Here it goes (no root required):
1. Enable developer mode:
a. Go to settings
b. Scroll down to about phone
c. Repeatedly tap "Build number" until developer access is granted
2. Get ADB installed w/ drivers
a. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
3. Enable USB Debugging
a. Go to settings
b. Go down to developer options
c. Scroll down to USB Debugging and turn it on
d. Connect phone with USB to PC
4. Get into ADB shell
a. Open a command prompt (windows key + R , type "cmd" in the box and press enter is my favorite way)
b. Run:
Code:
adb shell
5. Enable the bypass
a. Disable the DUN requirement
Code:
settings put global tether_dun_required 0
b. Overwrite the DUN APN (THIS IS DIFFERENT FROM ORIGINAL POST FROM PAUL1212 AND TAKEN FROM clndwhr's POST)
Code:
settings put global tether_dun_apn ",,x.ispsn,,,,,,,,,310,120,,dun"
6. Turn off Mobile Data
7. Turn on HotSpot
8. Turn on Mobile Data (The order is important for DNS to work properly)
Click to collapse
Works for me for now... it's nice especially for those who were given a "free" mobile data tablet that they don't know what to do with...

edit: wrong thread lol

3. If this line is not present in system table add it from the top label of "+ADD NEW SETTING". (Like in my case i have to add it myself).
4. Next Install adb in your PC and go the folder where adb files are placed.
5. Enable "USB Debugging on your V20".
6. Connect your phone to PC and open command promt in the adb folder.
7. Type " adb devices" to see whether your device is connected or not.
8. If connected , Type "adb shell"
9. Type “settings put global tether_dun_required 0” and press enter.
Thats it...VIOLA...set your hotspot password & Now you can use hotspot anytype.

Thanks for the information. Believe it or not my H990DS's wifi hotspot didn't work even though it's unlocked and sold internationally. It wasn't the end of the world but it always irked me that it didn't work. This worked a charm.

[Q]Umidigi A3 pro no incognito mode on any browser

Hello Everyone,
I have a question.
I just got the Umidigi A3 Pro and during its use I noticed that on every browser, incognito mode is disabled.
I checked Chrome, Edge, Brave, Firefox etc.
Do you guys know how to fix this, as I was not able to find anywhere an option, tutorial or something else how to re-enable the incognito mode while browsing?
After discussing with Umidigi support here is a possible solution for all of us who don't have the incognito mode option on android browser's
However, here's a possible solution that works:
1. Go to Settings → System → About phone
2. Tap ‘Build number' 7 times, then unlock the screen to enable the Developer options
3. Step back to the System page and go to Developer options
4. Scroll down to USB debugging and enable it
5. Download ADB driver installer
6. Unzip and install the driver.
7. Connect your phone to USB while its screen is unlocked.
8. Select Run from the Windows Start menu (or press Win key + R), then type cmd and press enter
9. Type and enter 'adb devices', then Allow USB debugging on your phone in the pop-up window.
10. Type (or copy and paste) and enter 'adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 org.chromium.example.partnercustomizations'
Hi.
I installed Samsung internet app on my 3pro.

Samsung Luna StraightTalk S120VL FRP Bypass

Samsung Luna StraightTalk S120VL FRP Bypass
In Model Number usually..
BL = Tracfone
VL = Straight Talk
(Both the same company but there are differences in ways used to do FRP removal depending on certain devices so I always list accordingly)
Tested on U2 firmware APJ2 so not sure if this works on U1. If the U2 firmware is wanted I will host and post it here.. It can be found by searching google too.)
Security Patch: (October 1, 2016) and.. should work fine on any other.
I had a stack of these phones gave to me for FRP Removal and these days I usually use Uni Android Tools, OctoPlus, or Z3X boxes for SamSung work. I tried while knowing this would most likely not be possible with this handset model. Success = 0. Tried a multitude of other operations and still nothing. Upgraded Firmware to the latest U2 because i had it, couldn't find a (free) combo in the time i looked and thought maybe it would allow something different.. I might be right. This is the first one in the stack I have done this on. So I will edit / post about U1 (Binary 1) models once this one is finished off. I know the methods work below just getting this write up done first. Anywho..
Whats needed? (each will depend on method taken below)
1) Bluetooth EarPiece
2) Old sim card (Verizon best for this way)
3) ADB Installed (Install this anyway as it's handy to have!) - Here is a link to a super quick and easy installer that will do it and while making ADB systemwide. Thanks to XDA user @Snoop05

4) ADB FRP Removal Application
Lots of ways past this initial point.. Here are 3 i know of that will work for this $20 old pocket buddy.
1) Preperation - First start off by hard resetting your Samsung Luna S120VL
Next find a sim card. I used an older used Verizon sim card. No longer in service. Put it in.
Boot phone. Goto Emergency Dialer. Dial 112 and instead of taking you to 911 (good yeh?) you'll get a voice greeting by Verizon. While this happens pair your bluetooth. (best if you have it in pair mode before dialing)
2) Removal - Three ways to do this. 2 more possibilities to do at the bottom of this post.
a. Connect to WiFi with Bluetooth. -> [Will do this when i get time]
b. Stay offline and use Bluetooth to open Calculator. Type in Calculator (+30012012732+ Now DRParser will open. Type now.. *#0808#. USB Settings will open now select the last one that says DM + Modem + ADB. Select reboot and watch your phones screen when you reboot. Enable when you get the authentication popup. Stay on the very first page of the setup wizard.
-
Now open CMD prompt type
Code:
adb devices
and make sure your device shows something like this -
List of devices attached
8e60d4bf device
Yeah? Ok now copy the following code and paste it into the CMD window and press enter.
Code:
adb shell content insert --uri content://settings/secure --bind name:s:user_setup_complete --bind value:s:1
Follow through the Setup Wizard which will quickly drop you onto your home screen and now you are done!
If the above command does not work in your case you can try the following command below. This will take you to login screen and then you can enter you Google account.
Code:
adb shell am start -n com.google.android.gsf.login/
If both previous commands do not work then try this.
Code:
adb shell am start -n com.google.android.gsf.login.LoginActivity
c. Stay offline and use Bluetooth to open Calculator. Type in Calculator (+30012012732+. Now DRParser will open. Type now.. *#0808#. USB Settings will open now select the last one that says DM + Modem + ADB. Select reboot and watch your phones screen when you reboot. Enable when you get the authentication popup.
-
Now use one of the many apps out there to remove FRP now that ADB is enabled. I will ask the moderators about posting but not sure it is allowed. Also the one that is easiest to use and that I recommend will trigger a false positive on Anti Virus. IF ok to post I will update this thread with a download.
----
Other Methods?
Accessibility Mode Method - When i get time (if it's possible.. as a quick check on U2 APJ2 didn't allow much)
ADB enabled boot IMG - Found one and these can be made as well but the one i have found (free) is from the Factory Engineering Firmware I believe. I just don't have much more time to fool with these luna phones. You'd just need to flash this then no need for bluetooth.. Again when i get a minute and remember I will put it up here.
Enjoy!

Google discover feed, how can I enable it?

Hi folks, I have just got my Find X2 Pro today and so far I am loving it, however one feature is missing for me. On my old Mate 20 Pro, I had the google discover feed if I did swipe right....is there anyway to enable this on the Oppo phone. All I currently have is the smart assistant which does work but its not ideal.

Not sure if you figured this out, I was going to do a guide but decided just to post here:
All you need to do to get the discover feed (only tested on ColorOS 11), is to remove the Oppo smart assistant app (what you currently get when swiping left on the home screen).
You need to force the app off with ADB, reboot your phone and as long as you have the Google app installed, you'll have the discover feed!
The ADB command to run is:
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.coloros.assistantscreen
If for some reason you want to reinstall, you can do so with this command:
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.coloros.assistantscreen
If you don't know how to get and use ADB, here's a quick guide.....
You can download Platform Tools directly from the Android developer here: https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
There are loads of more detailed guides on how to use ADB, but basic steps are:
Download the platform tools from the link above and extract to somewhere on your PC, e.g. C:/platform-tools
Open a command prompt on your PC (type cmd in the Windows search bar) and right click on it then run as Administrator
Change the directory to where your 'platform-tools' folder (so something like 'cd C:/platform-tools')
On your phone, USB debugging needs to be enabled, so:
Enable developer options by going to settings > About Phone > Version and clicking on Build number several times
Under Additional Settings > Developer Options, enable 'USB Debugging'
Plug your phone into a USB port on the PC
Make sure your phone is on 'Transfer Files / Android Auto' mode (the default is 'Charge only' mode)
Once set, you should get a popup on your phone to ask to Allow USB debugging, click 'Allow'.
Back in the command prompt, type 'adb devices' and hit return (you should see the serial number of your phone if connected)
Now you can get deleting - run the command mentioned above to remove the smart assistant app.
Note that it doesn't actually delete the app from the phone, it just removes it for the main user, i.e. you.
Done, enjoy!

Works perfectly on my Find X2 Lite (ColorOS 11 too). Thank you so much for the wonderful guide! I just received the April 2021 update (by using a VPN to France). and without adding back Oppo Smart Assistant, it appears to work just fine. Also worth noting that the annoying Smart Assistant did not come back from this update.
So it seems (to me at least) that you don't need to bring back Smart Assistant before every update. But still, I would recommend doing so just anyways, especially when the Android 12 update comes around.

I just tried it and, at least in my case, worked only the first swipe and then it disappeared.
I'm on a Find X2 Pro (ColorOS 12 - CPH2025_11_F.13)
However I found out that it worked by updating the stock laucher. I don't know if I can share here the apk, but you can find it online: com.android.launcher_12.0.50-12050_minAPI30(arm64-v8a,armeabi,armeabi-v7a)(nodpi).apk
With this, after the uninstall od the OPPO Assistant via ABD, you'll have Google feed discover working on ColorOS 12
Anyone got this working for ColorOS 13?
When I run:
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.coloros.assistantscreen
I get a message saying the package can't be found???
